Great old pub with friendly staff.

We had a lovely relaxing stay in the shepherds hut, great location, easy to find. Very clean, comfy bed and have thought of everything you need including a welcome hamper with yummy local food which was most appreciated! The hot tub was lovely and warm on arrival and very easy to use. We also had a lovely dinner at The Fostons Ash pub. We will definitely return and have recommended to family and friends, thank you!

Lovely garden to sit in . Rather slow service and when the coffee arrived half of it was in the saucer . Waitrose told me she would bring me a new one which turned out to be a new saucer not a coffee. Good coffee but rather cold . Won’t be adding to my good places for coffee

Great food, and excellent service, a very agreeable place for food with a nice farm shop attached. Slightly let down by average beer on this occasion.

Booked table for 2 and was looking forward to the Roast dinner. We arrived 1/2 hour early, but not a problem and advised that we could wait or sit at our table. We sat straight down and were served straight away. Both had roast beef dinner. Absolutely fantastic and the gravy was to die for. All the veg was cooked and tasty and the beef was fantastic as well. Plenty of food but still had room for puddings! Again the apple crumble and custard, fantastic and the vegan chocolate and orange sponge with chocolate sauce to die for. Will definitely be returning. Excellent food and service.
