The best restaurants in Mayfield Wealden South East

We were looking for a quality place to eat within 30 minutes of Eastbourne and were not disappointed. Fantastic surroundings in a wonderful ancient building. Quality food, definitely NOT your ubiquitous burger, chips and peas which is the normal offering in eateries. Great service, right down to being given on request a bottle top to make taking the unfinished wine back home. 3 people, 3 courses each and a bottle of red wine - £200 - very happy evening

Very friendly pub. Good food, the staff is always nice and efficient. There is a lovely atmosphere and it's a proper village pub. Dogs are welcome if you are not in the restaurant room. Nice terrace if the weather is good.

We had a very special afternoon tea for a birthday celebration and the food and service was wonderful. Thank you We even left with take away boxes which was a real treat for later!
