Brilliant food friendly staff will go back again and good on price

Its a fabulous setting and we have enjoyed the cafe before so we went today for a walk followed by a fry up. Breakfast is supposedly served until 12. We arrived at about 10 to & gave our order at 5 to. The server studied the clock on her till pretty obviously then said there were no hash browns but we could have extra toast. I said we'd prefer something else so she rather grumpily told the kitchen there was an order for a couple of breakfasts and the kitchen staff were obvously annoyed. Apparently we could only have extra toast as it was 5 to 12 (no, I don't understand either - a few extra mushrooms wouldn't have hurt anyone?). It was all pretty grudging and a bit of a shame as my children in particular had been looking forward to it. The bacon was completely dried up but the rest was ok. I think we'll try one of the pubs next door in future. If you advertise that you serve till 12 you need to serve till 12. If you've stopped serving you need to take the menu down before people get to the point of ordering.

Really disappointing. It’s a long way off the beaten track for very little. Absolutely nothing to recommend it. The place is shabby. One toilet for a pub .. I mean ONE toilet ! Because my group was delayed. They wouldn’t do food. They didn’t even do hot drinks. No coke even. Desolate location , rough track to it. Awful on a bike. Just locals I think. Next to a boatyard but it didn’t look like you could look round it. In any case , looking at the prices of food I’m glad I didn’t get any. £5.50 apple pie ? Is it the ritz ? I’d never go back. Very poor.

Would have been a 5 if the peppers/onions were a bit more charred.
