I’ve been visiting The Tea Barn since Covid, with there pick up afternoon teas which I did for my Dad and his friends dropping them off, also some of there home made meals, then I discovered there homemade sausage rolls, if you haven’t you definitely need too, but it’s my favourite place to stop for tea and toast, catch for afternoon tea (which I did for Christmas) or there proper ham sandwiches, I think you can tell I’m a huge fan, lovely staff and the wonderful Ben and Maddie x

A272 was closed today so instead of going to Horsham we turned round and saw this old pub , fantastic low beams and atmosphere, service was attentive and food very reasonable price and good portions . The starters were excellent and the lamb shank and mint potato superb, The duck breast was lovely, could do with a little more orange, braised red cabbage lovely with a hint of clove, A lucky find today

A very useful shop providing not only essential food items but a place to meet in the village with nice views from inside whilst drinking a coffee.

Visited on Sunday 19/01/25 after reading good reviews regarding the food, booked for Sunday lunch. Starters I had pate which was OK my husband had the seafood platter which is basically frozen seafood either in batter or breadcrumbs. The haddock goujons were not goujons they were 5 times the size of a fish finger. Of course the prawns and calamari were minute! Main course I ordered the lamb shank which stated it fell of the bone it done everything but. The toughest and tasteless lamb shank I have ever eaten. Stew and dumplings for my husband which was tasteless. Gravy was very watery. All in all very disappointed with the food compared to the reviews we gad read.

We chose a full English Breakfast at the Gatehouse Cafe and a coffee each after shopping in the garden centre. The service was prompt and attentive, the coffees were of a generous cup size and lovely and hot. The breakfast was beautifully cooked to order, hot, and of great quality. It was the best cooked breakfast I’ve had out for a very long time. The waiting staff were attentive to detail.. they brought marmalade quickly when requested and also went out of their way to bag me up some coffee grounds to take away which was very kind. Pricing was about right given the current economic crisis and the quality second to none. I would particularly like to thank the lady chef in the kitchen area who prepared and cooked our breakfasts last Sunday.
