As always, a fantastic experience. Great service, amazing food. Can not recommend highly enough. I think sometimes with Mexican restaurants, it's just okay, not this one. Everything tasted amazing, home made dips and sauces just added to the already amazing flavours! You can tell a lot of time is spent planning the menu, but also into the prep and cooking.

My 8yr old son loved making his own pizza he was offered plenty of toppings and said it was the best pizza he's had, probably because he made it haha. Only knocked off a star as there was only one or 2 vegan/plant based options. I had the plant based meatballs and spaghetti £13.50 which turned out to be Richmond plant based sausages made in to meatballs, tomato sauce and spaghetti bit disappointing but it's something at least better than chips ha.

Was a superb restaurant, I met Anto before he opened , he was in Liverpool looking for a location and found Rodney st .. unfortunately it has had to close , not sure why , it's a shame , I hope they sort out the staff if wages are owed, sad to see a nice place close times are difficult..much bigger restaurants than this have closed there doors. Hope the staff find jobs , Anton I hope you are ok , it's a tuff time ,

Visited a few times between July and September. Only in September did we manage to actually book to have food due to you having to call them to book, but the phone not being answered on several occasions. Food was ok, nothing special.....unless you're a football fan and don't mind eating under a TV screen whilst everyone is staring at you!! Not in a rush to return to what is very much a locals only vibe

Dining at Spice in the Gilpin Hotel was an exceptional experience. The fusion of flavors and spices in every dish was outstanding, delivering bold and exciting tastes with every bite. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed yet refined evening. The service was top notch staff were attentive, friendly, and made excellent recommendations. Overall, Spice offers a unique and memorable dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

The food is fairly good but in my opinion over priced for the portion sizes and taste compared to some other local places. It is all served very nicely/looks great so if you want to go somewhere to get a bit dressed up and have a fancy meal/some cocktails then it might work for you. For me I still can't say it is worth the price you pay. The service is good with friendly staff but not excellent, It can take a while to get someone's attention. The venue is lovely and has a nice atmosphere. Just because it is not for me doesn't mean it won't be for you. Give it a try :) Its always a good thing to try and suppport local businesses.

Friday night 7.30. Booked a table for eight. Three other couples dotted around and a party of about twelve with children. We were placed in the window with seating so tight when someone wanted to use the loo (tell you about them later) we all had to stand up and let them out. The waiters were ‘surly’ as if there had been a fall out between them?! Ordering food was easy and a there’s a vast menu to choose from. However when the food arrived the waiter stood at the end of the table a ‘barked’ each plates name until we claimed it, hilarious! We sent back one dish (lamb chops) as they were completely solid. Couldn’t cut them with a knife. We wondered if they were plastic! Mains were disappointing semi warm dried out rice one curry over spiced so much it was inedible. Told the waiter he said it was the chillies fault! Now then the toilets! The initial clue as to their standard is when you open the door to go upstairs and the stair carpet is threadbare. The hand rails are sticky and the other paintwork dirty. The mens toilets filthy excretion smeared wall. Ladies loos similar. First and last time we’ll ever go. We thought the days of poor Indian dining had passed many years ago but if you fancy a trip back to the 70s as a treat you’ve found your ‘nirvana’!
