This was a great takeaway for Indian/Bangledeshi food for decades, a pretty respected place for its hot curries to be honest.
Now its a shadow of itself kids texting and talking about you not in English, its a shame, myself and many others (inc next door) avoid it now and we travelled 7 miles to get there.

Excellent breakfast cooked by the very friendly Nicola. The food is all cooked fresh. Lunch is also served each day. It’s great also in the summer as you can sit outside the back that backs onto the canal.

Ordered an Arabic Shawarma & an Arabic Foul with a portion of Coshari & wasn’t disappointed with any of it. The Guava & Mint Tea drinks we also added were great as well. This is a good option if you are on a budget but want to try something a little different.

Had a fabulous lunch here. We had the burger and a Mediterranean tart with side salads + had to try the scones with whipped coconut cream and jam. Really enjoyed every mouthful. The coffee and tea were also excellent and the service was spot on. We will definitely be back.
Eaten here twice. Sunday roast and a Thursday night steak. Excellent food. Quality products and well cooked. Really. Great staff and great time. Support this place as it would be such a shame to lose it.
Tried for the first time today as our usual cafe was closed. The food was amazing and good quality ingredients. I had the belly buster breakfast which almost defeated me it was that big. My wife had sausages with real homemade chips. We will definitely be back.
I visit often enough so it’s about time I left a review.
The food is consistently at a good standard and service is always very friendly. Child friendly too, with high chairs available.
Great that there is a takeaway option too, meaning I can buy my wife breakfast or lunch when she’s working from home.
I’ll be back again and again.
I had my baby shower here may bank holiday and just want to say what an amazing venue and place the aviary is, from the helpful staff to the delicious food and service! I Could not fault, also such a smooth booking process. I can’t wait to book again for next year already.
Thankyou to the lovely staff that worked the day and night looking after me & my guests.
And another thanks to Heather for sorting everything from start to finish.
Looking forward to visiting again!
We were due to stop here in our campervan overnight (EHU available with a 3 pin adaptor) but got flooded in at the previous site at New Years! So as the landlord was so lovely with us on the phone, we decided to at least call in on our way home and have lunch instead! The food was fabulous, very large portions and the owners are as lovely as they are on the phone!! There is so much going on here - live music, Burns night at the end of the month, folk events, car boots weather permitting and books and board games inhouse to borrow - this place is a little gem and well worth a visit! Dogs are not just tolerated but actively welcomed with spare doggy blankets and a hamper full of doggy treats to purchase at really reasonable prices! We will most definitely be back to this lovely place and bring as many friends as we can, this establishment deserves to do well!
