Great evening meal here at the Puddled Duck really good meal served by Lily who has been excellent. We have thoroughly enjoyed our evening here tonight.

Upon first impressions the pub/restaurant is very inviting; we had to walk all the way through the bar to the back side of the restaurant before anyone spoke to us and asked if we were looking for a table. The young waitress was a very friendly and happy to help and allowed us to pick our own table for our party of four. Took a good few minutes for her to return to give a food menu but upon first impressions she was the only one working the floor with the only other person we saw working on the bar. The drinks menu on the table didn't capture anything but wines and cocktails so had to ask what other drinks they had on offer (soft, larger/cider) which wasn't known but quickly came back with a list of what drinks were available. Then a gentleman who I assume was the manager/owner(?) came across to our table in a sloppy manner, to the point we thought he had had a few drinks and was about to sit at the neighbouring table. Stood next to the table and waited for us to acknowledge him before grunting "you ready to order." We took turns giving our orders with either a "yep" or silence from him. Drinks were okay, one cider, one mocktail, water and Diet Coke ordered. Mocktail (elderflower spritz) had no sense of fizz in it although allegedly having lemonade in it. This was followed by more flat diet cokes around the table. Food was tasty and well presented but a real lacking in vegetarian meals with only one main being mushroom risotto? (Why is it assumed that if you're a vegetarian you MUST like mushrooms?!) In conclusion we won't be returning, the overall experience was poor.

The meals selected was absolutely brilliant. My husband, who as dietary needs, found the staff and manager very accommodating.

Consistency is the key to any business If you offers delivery service then stick by your values. Why would you deliver one day but not the next? Feel let down because of this.

On the spur of the moment, I called in for a fish in a barm. Amazing, freshly fried piece of fish in a barm cake. Superb value Will definitely return
