The best restaurants in Appleton Warrington North West

Just popped in for a coffee great canal side location

Had dinner twice during our three night stay at the hotel. On the first occasion (a Friday) it was a very good experience with excellent service. Unfortunately not so the second time (a Sunday). It wasn't busy but everything took a long time. They were so slow with the desserts that we thought we'd been forgotten about. We decided just to get the bill but then finally the desserts arrived. However we'd finished all our drinks, it was late and they were closing, so we had to decline them. It was a shame as the food on both occasions was pretty good and the staff were very polite and eager to please (and they were very apologetic about the poor service).

I've rode past the Thorn Inn for many years and lived around the wider area all of my life, but never visited until now, and we are so glad that we did. The pub has a lovely atmosphere, matched by the decor, which brings to life life its character. We received such a warm welcome from the team, they were all very friendly, attentative, and customer focused, nothing was too much trouble for the team. We ordered food & drunks, both of which were great value, the Beef Bourginion was to die for (so my wife said), and my Beyond Burger was just as good, by my account. It really was a great experience all round, a lovely venue, amazing colleagues & great value for money food. Thanks.

Pat at Lymm, this absolute gem of a woman found my lost wedding ring within minutes of a panicked phone call from me half hour after I had left the services. Pat went above and beyond finding a colleague of mine who was in there and getting my ring back to me. I can’t thank her enough as now I’ll not get in trouble with her in doors!! Thanks again. Jacko.
