Phoned on the off chance to book an afternoon tea, to which we were told there was no need to book and you can just turn up (which we thought was odd as we had booked before and is usual to have to book for something like that at any location), to be told once we arrived that we have to book. When we explained this to the lady who worked there, she very rudely said that we had got it wrong. Fair enough if there was confusion with what they heard i was asking for on the phone, but the rude attitude of staff isnt great! This is the second time I've visited and some of the staff have been less than welcoming, which is a shame, as the Cafe itself is lovely, and the rude staff is a minority. Needless to say we won't attend again.

I would 100% recommend & rate this as the number 1 best pub in Suffolk. This pub used to be a restaurant unfortunately didn’t take off very well. So the owner Derek (who is a lovely man) turned it around into a full scale pub. With a pool table, dart board & big TV’s and nice seating areas in and outside. I’ve been going to this pub only for about a year or 2. The service is 5* every time without fail. Staff are a o friendly. Even the locals are welcoming. They have a nice play area down the bottom with a swing and a slide to accommodate kids. The atmosphere is always very chilled and relaxed in there which brings a nice vibe in the pub but probably not for business. But overall I cannot rate this pub anymore. Well worth a visit and to recommend to family and friends!

Stopped lunch time on Friday 31st March 2023, I was sceptical as there was no chippy smell, ordered chips, and had to wait for a very surly man-who said nothing-to put a few chips in the frier. There was a sense of foreboding as I was the only customer at lunchtime, and no chips frying or ready🤔 After eagerly awaiting my chips, I adorned them with salt and vinegar and took them to the car. The ‘chips’ were absolutely disgusting, with 25% being black inside the chip. There was no ‘chip taste’ and we have eaten at many chippies in Lowestoft with no previous issues These were either frozen/reconstituted and we put them in the bin. This business is in need of an in-depth viability assessment, and indeed, whether this man should be working with the public. Without doubt, the worst chips my wife and I have ever experienced
