Highly recommend! The occasion was a special birthday lunch for a friend. It was perfect. A lovely warm welcome from the friendly, helpful staff who took the time to explain about the hall and show us some interesting original features. The dining room is beautiful. Our food was delicious, served piping hot. I liked the soft background music which adds to the ambience. We were extremely happy with our visit.

Set in the heart of a pretty village, close to amenities and the countryside. This little barn is perfect for a short stay. The property was immaculately clean with everything you could need. The hosts too were helpful, warm and friendly.

Went with family 19/10/24 big group of 17 . Food wasn’t great every dish tasted gloppy , couldn’t tell difference from fish or chicken , crispy chilli beef nice but that’s it . Doing food on mass was obvious we paid for all inclusive . It was very busy not sure why ! Won’t return

Unfortunately, visited on a Saturday evening when a table of 18 was in the main area. The table was extremely loud and raucous. The food was nice as normal. When I was asked if everything was OK, I said "no, this is awful" to which the reply was "sorry, we have a table of 18 in!!". They would have been better to offer the room for hire to the group as there was absolutely no consideration for other diners from the table or the restaurant regarding the noise. Also, to top.it off when we asked to change the peas for beans on my sons plate, we were told "well that's what you ordered as it's on the ticket!". We replied well the restaurant is that noisy, perhaps you didn't hear us. To pay £50 for this poor experience was totally unacceptable.

We have been before many times and thought what good value the lighter bites were and staff friendly. However we decided to have a loaded omelette which was loaded , but it was no bigger than 4 inches in diameter, chips were hard and it cost almost £11 miserable staff, who when I complained she just said they are normally that size, she did apologise, but got the impression it would not be reported back to the kitchen!!

A lovely lig fire burning as well arrived Kate afternoon made it feel cosy from the start. A charming lady behind the bar made us welcome and had a nice natter with us about times past for the pub and what it's like now. Drinks swiftly served and as driving a very nice cola for myself but my wife enjoyed her glass of Merlot very much. Fish, chips and crushed peas for me with a pot of tarter sauce and grilled wedges of lemon. The fish was fresh and succulent then chips crisps outside and soft inside so what's not to like, well only my choice, but I do like mushy peas, but the crushed garden peas were nice. Mrs C opting for the pan roasted sea bass with ratatouille and tomato sauce. For dessert we had the Black Forest Waffle and the Sticky Toffee pudding. Both were excellent and a step above the average. Please keep it up and we will be back.

Really sad to see the demise of this once great centre. Now a self service restaurant and staff who don’t seem to have any customer service skills. The cappuccino lacked lustre and coffee! Peppermint tea had bits in and when returned we were told that these were to be expected as if we’d never seen one before. The Brie bacon and chutney ciabatta was dry with hardly any taste or Brie or chutney!!! The garden centre used to have great displays giving ideas for garden planning. All that’s gone and helpful staff appear to have been replaced with unenthusiastic people. The beautiful hedges have been removed - not sure why as you’re not going to be busy if you keep taking this approach. Really sad to see and I’ll be visiting other more personable centres in the area in future. Steer clear is my advice.
