Zucchini Italian Kitchen in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Booked bottomless pasta and cocktails at 6:30pm with a paid deposit. Service was abysmal - we were ignored for the first 30mins of being sat at the table, waitress brought out pasta crisps and garlic bread around the 30mins mark. We ordered our first round of cocktails around the time we got our garlic bread etc and got them around 7pm. We had to ask to order our pasta after being ignored for another 10/15mins and once we ordered our pasta we’ve sat and waited another 45mins and still no sign of food. We also at the time ordered another round of cocktails which only 3 out of 4 arrived, 1 being undrinkable. My fiancé asked politely when our other cocktail was coming and we got a blank response from the waitress and an eye roll and we have still yet to see our 4th cocktail AND our pasta. We were sat by the door and can see numerous families and couples in the “restaurant” being ignored and not being served. The bottomless pasta and cocktails is meant to be 90mins time slot but we booked a 2 hour slot. The said 2 hour slot ends in 10mins. I never complain about places but this is a joke.

I'll be honest it doesnt look much from the outside but don't let this fool you, it's lovely inside. We just ate here and I'd say it's the best bolognese I've had, it was so so good. Also had calamari which was also awsome 👌

Well what a disappointment. We went over a year ago and it was fabulous. This time it was not good. No beer on tap as they said pressure was not working. The place is covered in dust and cobwebs so thick you could write in it. The starters olives looked past sell by date. The chicken Coujons were frozen type .The Garlic bread was lovely. The Lasagna was awful hardly any meat in it. The onion rings were the generic frozen ones the Chocolate nut sunday was advertised as pastachios almonds cashews came with only Monkey nuts and raisons. The only good side was the service from the waitress. We will not be going again. Such a waste for what could be a lovely restaurant. Not for us anymore we wont be returning sadly.

The food at is brilliant! Really tasty and well seasoned - great sea food and authentic Italian. Lovely service and always a great meal. Come her regularly and really enjoy it. Quiet atmosphere but nice for a chilled evening.

Went as we were staying nearby. No atmosphere and pretty bad service... had to open our own bottle of wine as the waitress said she didn't know how to!! Even tried to add a service charge for terrible service... won't return!

Food was an OK standard, staff were lovely but rushed off their feet. Overpriced though for what it is and most tables are too low for adults.

Booked online on Friday 9th August for that evening, restaurant was closed. Call before you go to check. Luckily I was staying across the road so didn't have a wasted journey.

Came here for food. It was absolutely delicious and we can’t recommend enough. An absolute must try if you’re stopping near by. Great friendly service.

i went for my mums birthday meal and i just expected a good but average meal from any restaurant but i cannot put into your words how good the food was , the taste was immaculate and i am not usually easy to impress as i’m picky with food , the portions were of perfect size and the prices were great for the quality of the food , the staff were so nice and friendly and gave recommendations of meals , the food was quick and overall the service and everything was the best i’ve ever experienced

Was expecting better tbh. Went on a Thursdays evening as reviews seemed good. Venue certainly needs a refresh, with various Covid decor still on show. Was a very quiet evening with only about 8 other customers in a very large restaurant and probably way too much staff. Was certainly rather surprised when the waitress handed us a bottle of wine we ordered and a corkscrew and said she didn't know how to open it!! 🤔 Garlic bread starter was pretty good. Sicilian Pizza ok, but a bit overcooked and chewy. Fettuccine Salmon tasty, but lacked much salmon and pretty small portion. Rather shocked a large "service charge" was added to the bill when they couldn't eben pour a glass of wine or water, then accused of paying too little when we didn't leave the full amount. Felt a bit sorry for staff... clear lack of training and be surprised of the restaurant lasts that long unfortunately.

Visited with a large party. Great food, excellent service and friendly staff! Would highly recommend!

First time visiting the Zucchini Restaurant. Not blown away to be honest. The staff who served us, however, were lovely. All three were young and very friendly and attentive to the right amount, so no complaints there - in fact, well done to them 10/10! The food, however, was disappointing. No seasoning through all the foods, which made the food bland. The dough for the garlic pizza bread, and the Sicilian Calzone was hard, as though it had been pre-frozen, and defrosted in a microwave, then heated/cooked. The lasagne, was tasteless and bland. The Calzone was barely filled and deflated when I put my fork in it and had so many green chilli's, it overtook any flavour which was there. The olive oil, buttery crushed potatoes were nothing more than mashed, wet potatoes. So altogether 4.5/10 for the food. Having worked in a very successful Italian restaurant in Sussex for many years, I know what's fresh and what is not. We were the ONLY couple in restaurant for at least 45 minutes to an hour, however, the manager/owners walked past us several times - NOT a word! No hi, no how was the meal, no interaction with us at all! In fact, they were sitting at a table back at the end of the restaurant, talking to each other and completely ignored us. It did not bother us that much as we were celebrating an anniversary so enjoyed our own company anyway, but you'd think they'd make even a small, friendly interaction. The only thing, shouted weakly to us was, as we were leaving, 'thank you'. Would not recommend the food at the restaurant and won't be back. Spent over £100, with a tip the waiter/waitresses ( I hope they get it ) but it was not money well spent I'm afraid. Could not be bothered to argue these points as we, up to then, had had a great evening celebrating an anniversary, and didn't want to spoil it. Hopefully, upon seeing this, they may offer some compensatory refund, but I doubt they will as they weren't bothered that we were there anyway!

Nice restaurant, staff (Delilah) very attentive and took our order quickly so no long drawn out sitting around trying to catch someone's eye. Food was good, freshly cooked and delived to the table in no time amd the price wasn't extortionate either. Recommended and would visit again if down that way.

Extremely overpriced for very small portions, the pinot was not chilled so I sent it back, compulsory 10 percent service charge, dirty toilets, no atmosphere, never ever again!!

We stumbled across this lovely hidden gem after a day in St Ives and returning to Perran Sands. With tired legs from a day of walking, wet and cold from the rain and tummys empty since our lunch time pasties down at the beach. The outside looks very rustic and you go inside to a cosy inviting resturant with a rustic calm vibe. We were greeted by a pretty waitress who was happy to have us even though we hadn't booked and showed us to a table. We were delighted. We are a family of 4 (including 2 children) Between us we shared the calamari which was beautiful. Lovely and crispy. For mains we had 1 childs fish finger n chips, a child's spaghetti bolognese & 2 penne pollo diabolo with added mushrooms. The food was absolutely beautiful. We all demolished our plates. The children's sizes were perfect, however I think the adult size meals could have been a little more generous (or are we just greedy aha?) Nevertheless we all enjoyed the flavoursome food very much. I believe one of the owners took our plates, we complimented the delicious food and to pass our thanks on to the chef who I believe was his brother. He seemed very happy with our compliments. The only tiny detail I would say there was no mention of a service charge. Within our bill this accumulated to just over £10. We would've more likely have tipped regardless but that felt a little forced on paying. Thank you for a delicious meal.

Good service and good to chat to the owner and catch up after a break since early summer in 2023. Certainly will return again soon.

Booked a birthday dinner here for my Down syndrome sister. Booked a table for 11 welll in advance. Received a confirmation of booking Arrived and a sign on the door said it was shut. Hearts have been broken. Thoroughly dissapojnted 0 stars if possible

Im sure the food might be really nice going off all the fantastic reviews however having bookings open on your website when closed for a “winter break” and the only way you are telling people of this is a little note on the door when they have turned up for a table that was confirmed is absolutely shocking especially when turning up with children. Its not hard to turn your bookings off surely

So we didn't stay in the hotel but we had dinner there. The staff were lovely and friendly, the manager told us little bits about the team. The place was super cute and romantic vibes with cute fairy lights. Overall it was a lovely date night ❤️

Firstly and most importantly the food tasted great…although we did book primarily for our girls to have mussels and sadly there hadn’t been a delivery of any the day we went to the restaurant. Most of the party picked pasta dishes as mains and these were really tasty. One of the owners is Italian and he works in the kitchen providing an authentic meal. Portions were not big but we had all had enough food. First impressions of the place aren’t brilliant tbh. The exterior looks a bit scruffy and uninviting. I understand that running a business in todays climate can’t be easy and very expensive however all the floodlights in the car park we’re turned off, steps up to the entrance door had weeds growing through and then upon entering the restaurant it has a somewhat strange and musty smell. Service was a little odd, the evening wasn’t too busy when we arrived at 6pm yet it felt like we were waiting an age for drinks and the young team of staff seemed flustered. The other owner came over to our table and was great with feeding the dog in our party lots of treats and bringing activity sheets for our children. It was very obvious that she cares about the experience you have when there. All in all a mixed bag. Did we have a nice night? Well…it was ok. Could it have been better…yes probably. Would I go again? Possibly not.

I wish I never brought my family there to treat them for a meal, we left hungry and ended up in kfc. We ordered three pizzas - two at the price of nearly £16 and another at £12. The pizzas felt at best a starter size, or even a child pizza size and was very small for the price. The place has tasty food but it’s incredibly over priced for what you get, so be warned. To top this, they even tried to add service charge of nearly £12…not impressed!

We absolutely loved eating here. The food was amazing and the friendliness of the staff was unreal. We visited Perranporth for a weeks holiday and booked this as we had eaten so many times we just fancied some pasta. The pasta was soooo good. We just wish we had tried it earlier in our holiday. It has limited opening days, so we only visited once but would have gone every day had we known. As for the staff, they were so polite and friendly. We spoke to the owner, who just blew my mind. She was so lovely, she came with water and treats for our dog. Then she gave us an information sheet of what we should do in Cornwall. The very next day, we used the information including recommendations for other eateries. She was absolutely spot on. Again... this place and staff get my highest recommendation!! Everyone should go!!! Do it!!

The worst Italian restaurant I have ever been to. An insult really to call what is being served Italian food and being Italian and regularly eating Italian food I feel I can say that. Very overpriced and very underwhelming. I will definitely not be returning...ever. I can't even blame it on being rushed off their feet as there was only our table and another two tables the whole time we were there. The only good point was the young staff, they gave good service but other than that nothing else to say other than avoid this tourist trap, save your money and go elsewhere.

A lovely evening for some Italian grub. We were welcomed to the table by one of the owners who said that the chef was her husband. She explained where all the fish etc was sourced from and this was a nice touch that made the restaurant feel authentic and homely. All food was, according to the owner, cooked to order and fully customisable (e.g. less or more chilli for each dish). The food was exceptional. The pasta was cooked lovely and the sauce very tasty. The desserts just as appetising. Plenty of ample parking in the car park - however it could do with resurfacing as there are a lot of pot holes. Overall a great evening and I would recommend this place.

We stumbled across Zucchini's in the evening after a long trip down for hols - and wow what a find! Superb food, lovely restaurant & great friendly service. Pizza was one of the best I've had in Britain - the lady owner said they use a 5th generation family Italian recipe for the tomato base which explains it all. Delicious. And they use 45 year old balsamic in the salads which explains why my wife loved hers so much. Prices fair enough as well. We'll certainly be going back there this week. Highly recommended!

Stopped here by chance. Amazing food, fresh, full of flavours. The mussels were delicious, followed by gamberoni and calzone. A definite must to visit

Absolutely awful food and a complete waste of money. Place in need of total renovation but don’t take my word for this see for yourself first impressions count very dirty and run down wish we had never got out of the car. Very expensive £4 for small bottle of still water two bowls of pasta over £30 and then service charge £4.75 no atmosphere what so ever feels like an old motel in a horror film.

Me and my partner came for dinner here yesterday evening and I have to say it was the best meal I have had in Cornwall so far. Hannah and her partner Philipe really are wonderful. I felt like I have known them a long time as the time flew by as we chatted. Hannah recommend many places for us to go on our travels round Cornwall. I really liked that they teach the young staff members their roles, added to the family restaurant touch. The food itself was amazing. The fish and pasta so fresh and the flavours were amazing. Hannah makes the tiramisu herself and it’s the best in the world! ;) Unfortunately we were so invested in eating the food we forgot to take pictures! I can’t wait to come back and see you! Aswell as eat some more food! Thanks for making our evening special!

Rustic & Charming. Myself, my wife & our dog Lois ate at Zucchini's this evening and we all loved it. The young members of staff were extremely attentive, the way they were learning their trade as they went along was very endearing and added to the 'family atmosphere' it was as if we were sat in their dining room at their home. The food was simple, honest and very tasty, served promptly & piping hot, we both had fish dishes that were clearly very fresh. Lois also thoroughly enjoyed her venison sausages! Our one reccomendation was maybe some music could be played towards the bar area as it did at times feel quiet. Our meal wasn't cheap but why would it be? When you choose to eat at an independent family restaurant you're supporting normal hard working people not widening the profit margins of a chain restaurant. We will certainly be visiting again when we're back in the area. A massive thankyou to all the team for looking after us so well.

Bit of confusion on our arrival as it was still closed even though we had booked a table, so waited in the car for 15mins. So glad we did the food was excellent all cooked fresh and well worth the wait

Main thing was the horrendous price. £127 for two people, we were so shocked when the bill came. Two starters to share, two small bowls of pasta which was undercooked and unfresh crab/prawns and 2 okay deserts. Absolute rip off for a sub-par meal. Staff were nice but seemed very shy and almost scared to serve people? Read other reviews about harsh management so don’t want this to reflect badly on wait staff as they were helpful. Will not be returning.
