Unfortunately very bad service, even worse food, at an outrageous price. We arrived late, but we had reserved. We were just annoying and felt it in the service and food. It's a shame that our London trip started so poorly...

Just had lunch here following a glowing recommendation and so glad we did. Menu has lots of amazing choices, service was lovely and good itself was so fresh and delicious, probably the best Sicilian we have eaten in this country. Prices also very reasonable including the cocktails. We will be back, highly recommended.

Really enjoyable restaurant tucked away in the Hyatt Place London East. Usually I don't eat in hotel restaurants but I have to say this restaurant stands out well enough on its own and hotel guests get a 20-25% discount voucher. The restaurant is well decorated and has a artsy speakeasy type of vibe. I had the sausage Maccheroni ragout dish and it was delicious, the pasta definitely cooked el dente with a fresh sauce. The drink menu also looked spectacular and worth returning for. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had the 35 day aged sirloin and cod cheek recommend by Rafael and it was delicious. The service and attentive care that we received was phenomenal. I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. If you go ask for Rafael, you will get optimal service.

It was a really tasty and well prepared dinner! Not heavy, very Mediterranean and nice atmosphere . Rafa is awesome and very kind.

Amazing little hidden gem, few steps from Aldgate station. Very professional and polite service from all staff. Linguine,zucchine e gamberi pasta and branzino (seabass) & sorbetto al limone were our absolute favourites! Highly recommended. Paired white wine, especially Pinot Grigio from Sicily was lovely. Great Sicilian vibes, we'll definitely be visiting again!

What is a chef with such talent, and a team of young, efficient, marvellously kind, and welcoming waiting staff, special thanks to Andrei (you deserve the next top award to be celebrated), Yahiya, and the seafood loving waitress from Malaga, doing being hidden away in the atmosphere lacking basement of a hotel in Whitechapel?! So much better than I had expected, and with such delicious food and service that we will definitely be going back to eat here despite the hotel lobby, breakfast room vibe. Everything my husband and I tried was delicious, and, better than that, created with both skill, care and high quality ingredients. The insalta di mare featured a generous portion of moist yielding and flavour packed pulpo, the caponata brought an authentic splash of Palermo to London, the olive oil and focaccia were ace, and my main of branzino still makes me grin with delight the day afterwards. Never has seabass seemed so luxurious. Moist, plump, yielding flesh resting on an oozing tomato, oil, & capers flavour packed bed of delight. I left the plate clean, bar the tail fins! Great wine recommendation from Andrei, the Carratto, served in my husband, Andy´s, and my favourite half carafe measure, being the perfect accompaniment to a top fish based meal: (Andy´s cod cheeks were top too). Anyway, I urge you to dine at Sotto Cucina & Bar, this small oddly placed restaurant deserves to be visited, the staff congratulated, and the excellent menu enjoyed to the full. Love Catherine C.B.

Service in London has diminished so much since brexit, not here the team are so helpful, positive, funny and knowledgeable. Food was far better than expected, wine list is limited but expertly chosen, I’ve just ordered two cases of the montepulciano, very good. We enjoyed the cured meat, just one saucisson, looked unappealing but was very tasty, anchovies good too. Mains, cod cheeks were excellent, super hot and crispy and the chilli in the broccoli was perfect. Sirloin came over cooked to our liking but there was no issue getting it replaced, and it was worth it, very good. Chocolate chilli tart was lovely. Strange place to have in the Hyatt hotel, but we will definitely be returning to try more of the menu. Great food, excellent staff

Older ratings must be the old restaurant here because the food service were all great! The seabass and pasta were particularly yummy.

Food was good, we loved the grilled sea bass! Starter portion size could be improved. Service is great, staff was very attentive. My friend and I had a good evening and we had a table outside their terrace too!

A great hidden spot in the Hyatt Place hotel. The food far outpaces expectations. Try the Cod cheeks or the Lamb breast, you can't go wrong.

We had a fantastic dinner here. The lamb and the parmigiana were wonderful! We had the distinct pleasure of being served by Rafa who was spot on with food and wine pairings and was a general delight all evening. I would happily return with friends or family for a lovely meal.

The service was very friendly and good. The dishes would be better if it were served on hot plates. The dishes were nearly cold. I hope the waiter passes on my suggestion to the cook. Therefore only 3 stars.

A little gem that you won’t notice if you walk past on the street. It was pretty quiet at lunchtime, but great food and friendly staff.

I’m very sad to say Zoom was way below our expectations. We couldn’t sit at the table we wanted to for an undisclosed reason. After being told that the “kitchen is busy” we waited for an hour and a half for our food, just to get raw, uncooked steak at our plates. Tried to switch it, got rubber steak instead. Most of the side plates were unavailable to order. We are simply shocked.

They have a private hire dinning area separated from the restaurant which is great for private dinners or private events. The events manager Manon is really easy to communicate with for event planning!

Held a party of about 17 guests in their private room and had a great time. Staff were very kind and accommodating throughout the whole process from booking to the end of the night. The food was great and everything was pretty affordable. Highly recommend if you are looking to hold a party without all of the faff of minimum spend and high deposit fees.

It’s at the bottom of a hotel. No atmosphere at all (Valentine’s Day and we were one of only 3 tables). Food was okay but didn’t blow us away, small portions and overpriced for what you get. My girlfriend (who found it on TikTok) was disappointed.

Food was okay but portion size was absolutely ridiculous. It felt like they were rationing food to get through the service. I’m 6’1 and have an average build, I ordered a Xmas special and I was given a portion size only suitable for a child. When you buy any meal make sure to add extras to be satisfied.

Visited with a party of about 40 and the atmosphere was rather cosy and personable at Zoom East Kitchen Bar. It's a small but charming restaurant that serves delicious fusion dishes with a twist. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they made us feel like part of the family. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and decor that sets the mood.

Fantastic food! ❤️ We tried many starters (delicious!) We had a the sea bass, the ribeye and a pasta dish. We also ordered several side dishes, all of them were tasty. 😋 The waiter was attentive and suggested a very good wine with the food. The atmosphere was cosy. Thank you from four Norwegians. 🙏

Lacks atmosphere but varied menu with great choices for meat eaters as well as vegetarians. Pizzas were great.

This is a hotel restaurant on the bottom level of the Hyatt Place. You don't need to be a guest in order to visit. Just walk downstairs past hotel reception and enjoy. The food is Italian and pretty okay for what it is. The desert especially. You likely won't have much of a wait as service is prompt and attentive. I'd return to try something different but don't go out of your way to get here.

As Italians, I can truly say that we have had an amazing experience here at Zoom East Kitchen and Bar. Food was the best Italian food I have had in London, we found true italian flavours and original recipes. Staff as well are amazing, so caring and polite. I believe everybody here is passionate about what they do and you can find this passion in the dishes and the welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a 5 star place. Thank you!

The reception was good and I gave the waiter the orders, and after a long time waiting they brought us the wrong order and I overlooked that even though the order was spicy and I don't eat spicy. And I asked the waiter if he could bring us a water out of the fridge and he said no we don’t have after a few minutes I asked another waiter and he said yes we have??and what happened after is worse, that the last order did not come to the table so I asked about the order and they said we can't serve you because the chef finished his work now?? The worse service I have ever had in my life

Disappointing experience... The cocktail menu they have is actually not available in the restaurant, you have to go up to the cocktail bar to get them... Why are they on the menu then?! The stuffed squid main dish was a joke, tasted nice but it literally had 4 bites on the plane. I wouldn't even call it a starter! And they charge £16 for it and list it as a main dish! The couscous trapanese would be great, if I hadn't had to send it back to the kitchen because it was overly salty and not edible... The cannolo desert is also nothing like a real cannolo it was primarily made with whipped cream, there is only a hint of ricotta in it... Not going back.

First time I gave a try to this restaurant. It was worth it. We picked parmigiana, salame Trapani, artichoke confit and fritto misto as starters to share. Little portions to try out some food before your main course. Good quality for all of them except the artichokes that, despite their good taste, were not fresh. I went for the busiati pasta (typical from Sicily) and they were very nice and tasty. As dessert we chose the flourless chocolate and orange cake, a must try 👍🏼🤤 Friendly staff and colorful atmosphere

Very friendly and polite staff, food was great and service very fast. It’s only hard to find it when you’re outside so maybe a board or something outside would help locate the place better. Rather than that it’s perfect

A lovely evening at Zoom East. The restaurant is in the hotel basement level but is nicely laid out and doesn’t feel too much like a hotel. The service was superb, very friendly and ultra helpful but we were eating early at 5.30 so it wasn’t very busy. The food was good quality, the soup could have had a few more fish types included and a bit more sauce. The starters were good but the octopus could have been slightly bigger. The fennel salad and lamb were perfect. A lovely meal.

Mandatory stop to have great Italian food in London. We found this hidden gem by chance and had a delicious lunch. Food was amazing, from the antipasti - we had the Fritto Misto and Polpette - to the main plate, which was delicious pasta. Last but not least, price was fair having in mind the quality and the quantity.

We had a large group booking for the festive menu. The service was excellent, we were well taken care of. The food was great. There was alot more than expected for a festive menu so was pleasantly surprised. The quality was excellent.

We had a lovely Christmas dinner there! The service was awesome by Mohamad, the greek head waiter and the team. Loved the pumpkin and we had a great time.

Booked for six people for dinner and it was a wonderful evening. The food was delicious and well presented and service was attentive. It is in the Hyatt Palace hotel and is nicely decorated with a pleasant ambience. Enjoyed it.

Had a really pleasant dinning experience here. Service was great, very friendly staff - Harris, Yinout and Nara (sorry about the spelling), you were all lovely. Food was delicious. I'd highly recommend trying the crab linguine and the aubergine parmigiana although I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Thanks for having us!

Excellent service and delicious food! A hidden gem located on the lower ground floor of Hyatt Hotel. We went on a Friday night and it was not too busy, nice atmosphere. We went during The Fork Festival so we had 50% off food which was amazing value. Spent £83 between 3 of us including a bottle of wine and orange juice.

Wow, probably the worst meal I've ever had. Ordered 2 pizzas and both were awful, no taste and very basic. On top of that the bar didn't make cocktails. A very expensive and bad experience.

The restaurant is inside the Hyatt Place hotel, and just right after the entrance, you'll see a sign to go down to the check-in area/restaurant. These two facilities are connected so it's a multiple-function area. We got our table immediately. We didn't have to wait for long for our drinks and aperativo for us to share. And while we were busy having fun, food came and we decided to share the main course, so we could sample each dish. The food is delicious and yummy, my favorite was the crab linguine, which was heaven with a tang of spiciness. The dessert came and the gelato was a proper gelato. Yuuum!!! then you had the pannacotta infused with rose taste. Perfect combination. While I loved the food, and service decent, the only thing that I didn't like was that the restaurant is in the basement. I like having a view when I go to a resturant. Shame they dony have tiramisu on the menu.

It was good enough for lunch. I wish I didn't get the "octopus" pasta lunch special as it left a long lasting taste in my mouth. Not a good one. It was tasty, but there was squid and supposedly chopped octopus, but I dunno. The price was right. Pasta and wine for 10 quid.

The food was good considering the price. We booked a table for 2 through TheFork and got 50% disco for all food item. Though the drink was a bit pricey.

We were given a 30 percent discount after checking in to use at the zoom restaurant which is located inside the Hyatt hotel. The menu looked decent but not too many options. We went down for dinner around 6pm, there was no one in the restaurant and considering we went on a Friday night this was slightly concerning however we decided to give it a go. We were greeted by our waiter who was accommodating and got our food and drinks order fairly quickly. I ordered a sirloin steak medium rare, my girlfriend ordered a ribeye steak medium. The food arrived and was a massive let down. My steak seemed to be cooked in every single rarity, initially it looked too rare and then the other half looked very well done. The steak also seemed to not be freshly made, which would also be disappointing if this is the case. My girlfriends steak was exactly the same. The chips were okay but nothing special, the portion sizes for the steak and chips were also poor considering the price. Another disappointment was that when the waiter asked if the food was okay, I pointed out the steak and how we didn’t enjoy it, I had left basically the whole steak and pointed out the difference in how it was cooked which you could clearly see. The waiter had no interest in this and just took away our plates. When we asked for the bill, he came and asked if ‘everything was okay now’ which left us baffled, nothing had changed; we had not been given any new food or ordered any extra food. The waiter also seemed to laugh after asking this, which I could only presume is because he realised it was a stupid question. I felt as though we could have at least been offered a new steak, or an acknowledgment that the food was not cooked properly. Even with the 30 percent off, it ended up being around £56 for two steaks and four diet cokes, which is way overpriced. The hotel is nice but I would not recommend this restaurant.
