Zizzi - Hornchurch in Havering

Zizzi please get better containers, my lasagna has opened during delivery and spilled everywhere and even split the bag twice now, I have to keep getting my order refunded because it’s inedible when it’s mixed with paper bag. Please secure your containers with tape or get better ones!

Went in yesterday for an evening meal and my experience wasn't a good one, on entry the experience was not welcoming although the restaurant was 10% full (I wonder why). We were quickly told we could sit anywhere, the restaurant was cold in temperature as well as atmosphere, (I wanted to get out as soon I sat down) As usual the drinks came quickly, we ordered our food at once, which also came quickly. The waiting staff were having fun with each other pushing a light up star in each others faces.... Cutting a long dreadful experience short, the food was OK, bruschetta was burnt, I didn't want to make an issue of it so didn't bother complaining there. In short 2 adults 1 child (Kid's menu) no alcohol bill came to just under £70 - I will not be returning, there are many better options out there for that kind of money with a better experience.

Every time we arrive in this town, we first stop at Zizzi, before checking in at the hotels. We have already been there twice this week. The atmosphere is very pleasant, a rich menu, always clean, the service (a young lady named Khamar) at a professional level and, most importantly, we always liked the food, regardless of whether we order pizza, meat dishes, pasta or dessert. The kitchen is perfect. Keep up the good work, thank you for the very pleasant hospitality.

Khamar made our anniversary 10x better, lovely food and service. Would come again !

Went here for my Christmas Meal with my friends. Was a very busy evening for the staff here. I have never seen it so busy. Every table was full and there was 2 massive tables of 15 with one of tables quite loud. That being said the food and service was brilliant. Staff did an amazing job. Look forward to returning.

An enjoyable evening of old favourite dishes and visiting ones. All tasting very good. khamar our server for the evening was friendly, efficient and attentive.

Overall I'm not happy, food was nice but service was dreadful, appologies, we had our mains arrive late, deserts arrived late and incorrect, so re-ordered, arrived and eaten, to then be asked if we wanted deserts, which we already had! Our dishes took ages to be cleared, or were attempted to be cleared too soon. So good food, bad service, overall not very happy.

Oscar was very attentive although rushed off his feet, he always had time to engage in conversation and made us feel very welcome. We left very happy and comfortably full 🥳

Little slow at the start. Person seating people & asking for drinks orders (despite not even having sat down yet, let alone looked at drinks menu), despite taking my request for a glass of water did not get it. I had already asked about wine menu which was on the table & said could I just have a water for now while I decide on a wine. I then waited over 10minutes for the waitress for my table to be free as she was run off her feet. I had to ask again for the water which then took longer to arrive. Coffee & dessert were ordered through the scan at table option at the same time. Coffee arrived 5mins before dessert. To improve please bring simple things like a request for water immediately instead of handing over to someone who is very busy & either forgets or wasn’t told. And please bring dessert first & on its arrival ask if the person would like the coffee to accompany the dessert or after. Never serve coffee before the dessert. Food otherwise okay for a chain. The Montepulciano was quite good too. Further to the above, at no point did my waitress check in on me to ask how my meal was, either during or on collection of my plates. She did however state on presenting me with the card machine with an already suggested 12.5% tip that I could add a tip if I wanted. It is much preferred not to have this obvious step stated. A tip was given, but a larger one might have been if service was up to par & it wasn’t suggested to me on presentation of a bill.

Very good staffs and service. Specially your staff called Khamar. She is excellent.

Had a lovely lunch at Zizzi. Food was great, came out in a quick manner and had a lovely server named Oscar. Thoroughly pleased with our meal and service :)

I loved here because because the lady in charge always recognised us and she is lovely, always happy to accommodate.

Gluten free pasta not like the original pasta that comes with the non-gluten dish.

updated: although my previous review was very good, I have decided to update my new review. Hornchurch Zizzi is the best Zizzi i have been to! The worst Zizzi is the one in Brewery romford absolutely disgusting and cant believe they're still running! Anyways, hornchurch zizzi is great! Barbarathe Manager is just awsome! I remmeber her from the romford store, her customer seervice is not inly exceptional but shes also very professional! The chefs Antonio & Hani must be one of the best chefs I have come across! I can tell by the taste of the food sometiems if there ws a different chef. i woudl also like to praise waitress ana. Shes amazing her service is genuine too. Although Zizzi at Romford brewery is more close to me i prefer coming down to Hornchurch only becuase of the chefs and the staff.i also think Zizzi Hornchurch should start inviting food Influencers and start advertising. Would be sad if they go down, unlike other Zizzi’s and modern italian Zizzi is really good. But Hornchurch staff are the best! I ahve been to many zizzis over the years, but this place is amazing.

Had a great meal at Zizzi and the service by Dan was exceptional.

The only Zizzi that hasn't got rid of all its staff and replaced them with an app.

Always a good experience at Zizzi and this time was no different. Amazing service and friendly waitresses (Khamar and one of the managers), delicious food, nice and cool temperature inside the restaurant too on a hot day (without being too cold too!). Loved it, definitely be coming back to this one. I had dishes from the 3 course set menu and loved all of them!

Fabulous food and value for the kids from the kids menu I tried the zuca salad which was prepared nicely but felt it was lacking substance eg.quinoa or couscous as an addition would have made it a bit more filling Our server was friendly and efficient Bit expensive overall but nice as an occasional treat

Very poor service, one of the servers was quite rude. Kitchen staff not wearing gloves and using hands to add toppings onto pizzas etc, and wiping his hand on his T-shirt. Very poor. Would definitely not visit again.

My Review: Went here with my dad for father's day and when we got here we were greeted politely and by t' time we got sat down and comfortable it wasn't long til it was getting busy. Atmosphere was amazing even though little kids broke some glass which is why I'd recommend that under certain ages shouldn't be drinking out of glass, Staff was friendly and lovely. Price: £££ Expensive but worth it especially if you want a decent meal knowing that everything is cooked fresh and that you'll be full in no time.

Food and service was ok at best, when the bill arrived I tried to pay with a £50 note, the waitress said she don’t accept cash, when the manager came he stated that it says somewhere on the way in that they don’t accept cash and even if they did they would not accept a £50 note ! For this reason alone I would not go back ! Not the staffs fault that work there but wouldn’t go back to zizi for that reason !

Came into Zizzi Hornchurch on a Wednesday evening and it was so busy but Dan greeted us with a smile, he was very attentive, saw us to a table and got our drinks immediately. We had amazing service, great food, and an all round lovely evening. Thank you to Dan and the team for making our evening so enjoyable, will definitely be returning to Hornchurch!!

The staff were just wonderful, we went with a large group (my first time) and they handled it very well! Drinks and food came out fast, all orders were spot on and tasted delicious. It seemed like we all had a bite of each other’s dish just to try. I will definitely be going back.

Visited with friends last weekend and everything from the customer service, the atmosphere and the food was absolutely shamazing! I honestly couldn't fault anything! I don't usually leave reviews, however felt that this was well worth sharing!

We had been to this restaurant twice. First time good, second average. This was the last time we'll visit it, though. It was quiet, cold and unwelcoming, but the service was slow. While waiting, girl was sweeping up after a messy family. She swept the table, and the floor, with the same brush. Shocking. The food was ok, my pizza dry and overcooked, with hindsight i think we only stayed cos we were in shock.

I love this pasta first of all, this is my favourite. So, when you receive it undercooked (not al dente) and just 3 strips of pancetta with no mushrooms nor other ingredients you usually see when you order this, it is disappointing.

I ordered just about half an hour ago a margarita pizza at zizzis and I’m so diss To say that it was like the worst I’ve ever seen . How can.a pizza be paper thin . Genuinely have no words to say what a waste of £16 . A thin and ice cold pizza as if it was a book wouldn’t even move. I won’t order there again .

We ordered pasta and pizza via Ubereats. The food was cold when it arrived, and the pizza was completely overcooked. The crusts were folded over and it just looked a mess. The pasta was bland and needed added seasoning. Would not be ordering again.

Vegan option of the rainbow lasagna and courgette fries were lovely as usual. The lasagna had a little extra dusting of seasoning on top but no fresh basil leaves that it usually comes with. For a western Italian food option, this is by far the most expensive at £21.17 for just two items, and that includes free delivery! For this reason, Zizzis won’t be my regular restaurant of choice.

Disgraceful that this place is now cashless. We will not be visiting again. It should not be allowed for businesses to be able to refuse legal tender.

We went there for my daughters birthday. The waiter was disinterested. Not sure if he had any training. I told him my order and he said is that it. He didn't check if the meal was okay. Thought this was standard practice as in other restaurants. The food was good although the lettuce was brown where it had been cut earlier. Overall a disappointing experience.

After 45 minutes I asked how long it would be for our main course. I was told the pizza was in the oven. This was over 45 minutes since ordering. The restaurant was practically empty and there were two chefs in the kitchen. No one had told us there was a delay or asked if we wanted drinks or needed anything. The food was tasty but the wait and service was not up to standard.

I won't be going back there. The waitress picked up our plates when one of the group hadn't even finished , leaving only her plate on the table. Very poor service ! We had to complain about the desert as some ingredients were also missing. The food was tasteless , dry and very basic. Chelmsford one is sooo much nicer!! Very cold atmosphere and we felt they wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible which was not a relaxing experience :(
