The starter- cheese, was lovely. The beef brisket was more like a bolognese which was not what was expected and the potatos with the chicken tasted like they were fried in lemon. The cocktails tasted like there was no alcohol and were watered down. Wouldn’t recommend.

Hello, I came to Zizzis yesterday evening with my work colleagues as our Christmas meal. I called beforehand and the woman I spoke to was very helpful & confirmed I could extend our booking from 8 to 12 people which I greatly appreciated. When we got there the booking could not be found, causing me stress with everyone else - when in fact it was there all along and the person at the front didn’t look properly. Once we were seated we were given our waiter for the evening who unfortunately was not helpful in any way at all. - We ordered two portions of olives, only one appeared. - My friend ordered a meat pizza and when he came and bought it to her she asked for some extra pizza sauce to which he replied with it’s got meat on it, is that the meat you eat? (She was Indian and it just came across quite insensitive) - I don’t think he smiled once during the entire 2 hours we were there - He refused to engage with us, or ask if the meals were okay - Trying to ask for more drinks made us feel bad as it appeared to be a very tiresome task for him to do his job Unfortunately I did not get his name as no one at Zizzis wore name badges last night. I was deeply disappointed in the service we had for our Christmas meal yesterday evening. Good location at the mailbox close to hotels, bars etc. Food was good, didn't have to wait too long for it to arrive after ordering, I had the Pasta Della Casa followed by the chocolate brownie which was very good. Service was ok, friendly but not attentive, we had to ask/chase for drinks, dessert and bill.

Management had no idea how to greet guests dining at the restaurant, lack of engagement/disregarding whom ever he interacted with. As a whole the restaurant seemed very understaffed (don’t take my word for it). However they all appeared overwhelmed (apart from 2/3), lack of training among the team. Food was very very bland. We specifically asked for a Bruschetta without Parmesan, listed on the menu (therefore we knew to ask). It arrived with Parmesan TWICE! Eventually we were brought a Bruschetta with a tiny amount of Tomato & Dressing. Made for a distressing date night 😂😂 Location is lovely, overlooking canal - looks great at night!

I ordered a pizza (Rust Pollo Rosso) that was perfectly seasoned and had good chunks of chicken on it. Surprisingly the garlic bread lacked any garlic, this was a disappointment. I cannot fault the food (bar garlic bread) but definitely can the service!

Na een paar jaar hier terug geweest en alles nog even goed als toen. Nette zaak, vriendelijk personeel, goede open keuken. Het kan er luidruchtig en druk zijn dus best reserveren in de spitsuren.

Lovely staff and lovely food. Was asked on entering if anyone in the party had allergies and were given a comprehensive allergen guide. Staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and made to feel comfortable with young toddler. Lunch set menu (2 courses £11.95 and 3 courses £15.95) was very good value for money and delicious. Kids menu was extensive and had a lot of choice (6.75 for 3 courses and babycinno). Would definitely return, staff were a real credit to the company.

We used tesco vouchers here and the food was excellent would recommend the chilli infused oil that is on the tables

My partner and I went there for dinner as we had very good past experience at this particular Zizzi's (there is one more in Birmingham by Brindleyplace). After about 5-10 mins standing on the front entrance door behind a group of ladies who looked like they are waiting for someone to find them a table (which was not the case.. I mean seriously!? Being there for a while and noone paid attention on what's happening on the entrance?), we were welcomed by a waiter who quickly found a quiet table for us. Happy so far. The drinks and the main course (chicken with potato and green beans) were a bit of let down - each time we go to the restaurant we found the portions getting smaller and smaller, and more importantly - less tasty. This was the second 'black mark' for the evening. The ratio quality - price was unreasonable, considering that the restaurant was only halfly full when we arrived. Then the waiting began. 15 mins for the empty plates to be picked up (even though there were few ladies from the staff who seemed to have nothing to do, but did not approached us). We then decided to have a go and try to compensate with desserts (waiting for the menu to be given back to us for a good 20 mins). Finally, after being able to order, we faced another over 30 min wait until 2 simple desserts (banana calzone & chocolate melt) were delivered, which were also not the quality expected from this restaurant.

Absolutely appalling service, we were obviously an inconvenience to them. Short staffed, ants all over the table, arsey staff. We were visiting. I'd avoid this place . Dreadful.

Went to this Zizzi's on the Saturday night for bank holiday. Managed to walk in and get a table for 2 straight away sitting outside. Beautiful canalside location.

It was very noisy, and not a lot of waiting staff, my friend had a mushroom risotto which she didn’t eat, said was very bland and had no taste, nobody came to check if our meals were ok until they cleared the plates by that time it was too late, we weren’t offered any money back just if my friend would like anything else which she said no as we’d all finished.

We are familiar with Zizzis and are also familiar with a professional service. We tried to get in to this establishment for 4 people without reservation. We were frowned at and told to wait a minute. We waited and saw the front of house going outside to take a selfie with random people. The man had a dark goatee. His attitude stinks. One of which I wouldn’t employ for free. He came back in eventually had a quick look but at that point we felt so insulted that we had to leave. Disgusting. Sat in Red Peppers opposite. Far more friendly.

This restaurant has a good atmosphere and I like the location, canalside in the heart of the Mailbox. The food was good, service could have been better. Prices were a little high I thought.

We was greeted by Victor (Well we think that was his name) who said we would have to wait to be seated as we didn't reserve. So asked us if we would like to wait outside in the terrace. We only had to wait 15/minutes so didn't really bother us. We was then served by a young polite waitress blonde hair we didn't get her name. Considering the place was very busy the turn around for the food was amazing. We both throughly enjoyed our Calzone. The fonde was absolutely bang on.

Visited for the first time yesterday lunch time with a friend and my 7 year old. Started off well when we walked into restaurant, greeted by the manager Paul who was polite and welcoming but unfortunately it went downhill from there!! We chose to sit outside on the terrace as it was a sunny day, the waitress who came to take our order was not friendly in the slightest, she had a sour face and did not smile, her attitude was quite rude and abrupt when she took the order, it was as if she couldn't wait to finish taking the order and get rid of us. They brought the starters out but then left us with no cutlery, we waited a minute or two in case they were bringing some out but they didn't so I had to go back into the restaurant and ask at the bar as nobody was around, they said they would bring some cutlery out but after waiting a few more minutes outside at our table, nobody came and my garlic king prawns were getting cold, so again I went inside to ask for cutlery, finally we got cutlery then ate our starters, nobody came to ask if everything was ok with our food or check that we had finished our starters, all of a sudden 2 waitresses appeared with our main courses, luckily we had finished our starters but nobody had bothered to clear our starter dishes away so they then had to juggle the mains on the table whilst clearing our starters away!!! Then when they left I realised that they had not brought the side orders of broccoli and sweet potato wedges for my daughter, I waited to see if they were bringing it out from the kitchen, after a couple of minutes nobody appeared so once again I had to go back into the restaurant and ask one of the bar staff who said he would go and check, he disappeared in the direction of the kitchen, I decided to wait inside for him this time until he brought them out, he didn't come back and after a while the manager walked by so I told him we were missing the side dishes, he said he would sort it out and told me to go back to my table, I also took this opportunity to give him feedback of our experience so far and of the waitress who took our order, I went back to my seat but unfortunately by the time they brought the broccoli and sweet potato wedges out for my daughter, she had practically finished all her pizza!! When they brought the side dishes out I ordered an orange squash but they brought blackcurrant squash instead (!!) so this had to be sent back. I was beginning to feel exasperated by this point thinking can't they get anything right?They also forgot to give my daughter the chocochina that they are supposed to give at the end of each childrens meal. The food was average, overpriced and the waiting service was definitely lacking. This was our first time at Zizis and due to the appalling service we will not be going back. We have had a lot better service and experience at other pizza eateries which are also better value with just as good food if not better.

Hot day. Full restaurant. We had not booked, but got a table for 2 outside. Service excellent. Both bar guy and waiter brought items quickly and correctly. Food excellent. Waiter was fast and very good at his job.Place was packed and I am not surprised...on a Wednesday too. Right by canal, so lovely setting.

Wir wollten noch rasch vorm Konzert etwas essen gehen. In England ist die Esskultur halt ganz anders als bei uns, die Restaurants sind durchgehend gut besucht und ohne Reservierung ist kaum ein Tisch irgendwo zu bekommen. Der Restaurantleiter hatte aber ein Herz und gab uns auch ohne Reservierung und obwohl der Laden fast aus allen Nähten platzte einen Tisch. Sogar das Essen kam sehr schnell nachdem wir darum gebeten hatten weil wir eng in der Zeit waren. Geschmacklich fand ich meine Nudeln mit Gambas sehr lecker.

We booked as there was a deal had come through online and we followed what it said and got the code to present to the waitress when we sat down.

Call me boring, but each time I have visited here I always go for the rustica picante pizza. Its always an utter delight, quite possibly the best pizzas I've ever had.

Probably the best pizza I have ever had in my life, amazing is an understatement, the staff where all lovely and very helpful, even down to the wine selection they let us taste 3x different bottles, I will be 100% returning here

Seated promptly after confirming our reservation... waited a while before our drinks orders where taken . We then waited around 20 mins for our drinks to arrive with no apology for the wait. Our food took another 30 mins to arrive... at this point I was tempted to ask the other table for a slice of their pizza to fill the gap!

I visited Zizzi’s for the first time with a group of friends for a birthday meal. Despite the food being delicious the service was very slow. We waited about 15 minutes before our server came over to the table to get a drinks order and then about the same wait afterwards to order food. Once most the food had arrived one guest from our party waited a further 10 minutes for their main course pizza. We then ordered desserts to be told that the chef forgot about the cheesecake so it would take another 5 minutes for the last desert to arrive. The restaurant was fairly busy but our sever didn’t apologise for the wait or offer anything whilst we were waiting. Such a shame because the food was lovely, just let down by the service.

Restaurant was really busy when we joined the queue but as soon as we made staff aware we had a booking we were seated promptly. The food & service were great and complimentary Prosecco for my Daughter’s birthday was a lovely gesture by our waitress. Would certainly reccommend this restaurant.

Visited here on a Saturday afternoon before going to the theatre with my young grandson a very enjoyable experience.The sevice was great and my grandson wanted a main meal not on the menu but he had had before at another zizzi. This was no problem to them and made his day.The food was very good excellent size portions and well presented.

Went to Zizzi tonight for my husbands 50th there was 10 of us and our waitress was Sophie all I can say is she was amazing fast efficient and above all so friendy and constantly had a smile on her face she made the night for us and would like to pass it on - the food was also amazing would defo recommend the place was packed but service was 1st class

Just days after the demise of Jamie’s Italian we visited Zizzi’s Italian at Birmingham Brindley Place. This was a lunchtime during half term so as you would expect it was very busy. Plenty of staff taking orders etc but just two people in the kitchen.

The whole experience started off on a bad foot, the greeter was reluctant to give us a walk-in table. Cocktails were a let down. Food took a long while to come out, and a dish presented was incorrect. No apology was given, and the correct food items took another while to come out. Student discount was applied to the bill, however the manager did not offer any further discount for the incorrect food item let alone an apology. Eventually he agreed to remove this item from the bill but was clearly not happy about it.

No hemos estado aquí por un tiempo y vinimos esta noche a cenar sin reserva el viernes por la noche. Gerente en la puerta era muy acogedor, aunque el restaurante estaba lleno y parecía ocupado. Él nos dio asientos encantadores! Todo el personal era muy amable y el ambiente en general era genial. Tuvimos una agradable velada. La comida estaba en el punto, así como todas las bebidas. Gracias chicos, te va bien.

"Visité Zizzi (Mailbox Birmingham) tenía un cupón del 20%. No fue mi primera opción de restaurante, pero decidí ir allí de todos modos con la otra mitad. El servicio era lento el camarero finalmente vino y tomó nuestra orden. Después de esperar aproximadamente 20 minutos la comida llegó y estaba fría. A nadie le gusta comer papas y pollo fríos y la pizza apenas estaba tibia, mi compañero me pidió que la cambiara, pero si hubiera tenido que dejar la mesa para atraer a un camarero. Debido a que tenía hambre y he estado esperando la pizza, un clásico italiano caliente no estuvo a la altura de lo que decía. Muy decepcionado para cuando corté la pizza, estaba fría como una piedra pero la comí. No podía esperar otros 20 minutos por la comida ya que tenía hambre. Al final, recibimos la atención de los camareros, él vino a la mesa y le dije que teníamos un cupón. Tomó mi teléfono y estaba leyendo los términos y condiciones que el comprobante claramente declara válidos todo el día de lunes a miércoles. Escribió que el código se fue y luego regresó para decir que era un código diferente cuando solo había un código. Hubiera sido mejor si él dijera que escribí el código incorrecto o me perdí un número / letra. Acepto que es una cadena de restaurantes, pero si usted está pagando por una comida de cocinero, debe servirse caliente, no fría, o podría haber comprado un sándwich en el supermercado. Definitivamente no volveré a este Zizzi a toda prisa. Pensemos en el pensamiento debido a la economía inestable que vivimos donde las empresas están cerrando, deberían mirar más de cerca la causa real de los problemas. Los más decepcionados.

Perfectly situated for a meal prior to nia show. Booked in advance as gets busy. All of our party had 3 course meals and all were high quality and came out quickly. Well worth the money and a good way to start the evening. Meerkat meals was an added bonus. Would definitely visit again.

Great location near canal and within walking distance of the centre. Very busy but food came fairly quickly, tasty pasta and great choice of gluten free options. Excellent service.

Me and my friends went for some food and drinks. Floor service could be better however head chef was amazing. Sent our food quickly in perfection. He keeps on smiling from the kitchen and made sure we were enjoying. We asked for some ice because rosé was warm however no one responded to this, we waited 15 minutes and the head chef got us some ice from the kitchen in 10 seconds. Mad respect for him!

I was disappointed with the meal I ate at this restaurant, although it is a chain so you are never going to get a gourmet meal. I had a calzone which seemed to consist mainly of dough.

Food and server were amazing. Prompt food and attentive staff meant for an excellent meal. Upon visiting the toilet, the facilities were a big let down, upon using the accessible toilet, it was evident that it wasn't accessible at all, with a baby changing table restricting access. As a wheelchair user I am thankful I was having a good day where I didn't need my chair...otherwise would've been embarrassed and unable to use the toilet alone

La orden se preparó rápidamente y estaba deliciosa, la pizza era una de las mejores que he probado y tenía el tamaño correcto de la porción. La camarera era amable y eficiente, y la comida estaba muy caliente, el único aspecto negativo es el plato de madera, yo prefiero un buen plato de porcelana.

We have been regular visitors to this branch of Zizzi for many years and recent visits have confirmed that standards are still very high.

Visited here for my partner’s Birthday meal on Mother’s Day. We booked in advance as expecting it to be busy and it was definitely necessary; they managed to seat us in the window too which enabled us to have a bit of a canal view.

We visited this restaurant for Mother's Day, at the last minute, and they managed to find us a nice table in the window. The food was delicious, very filling, and service was friendly and fast. We would definitely recommend!

After previously praising Zizzi in a review this visit was really disappointing in both service and food.

Nine of us ate here and i was thinking that the service was not going to be that good. However all of the meals arrived together and we were served by three people. The food was delicious and the red merlot wine accompanied it very well.

We were just here for a couple of days on business and happened upon Zizzi's while out and about, it's an extremely welcoming and cosy restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. We didn't have a booking but they fit us seated quickly. We were instantly at ease. The orders and food came really quickly but not rushed, the food was just the best Italian we've ever had, all freshly made and tasted amazing, a look round other diners showed us we weren't the only ones who thought so. We would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone and really hope we can come again

We had a table for 2 booked for 7.30pm on Saturday. When we arrived the restaurant was already full. We were told there would be a 10-15 minute wait for our table and were offered a menu while we waited. It was about 10 mins and we were then seated. Our waiter was very friendly and we had a little wait for our food (about 30mins but it was extremely busy) Food was very good but don't bother with the Sassy cider - it was awful and couldn't drink it!

Firstly the decor is really nice, we was a party of 9. Drinks were a little slow arriving. The food was delicious. The only problem was that there was a sewage smell that kept coming over, we complained to the waitress she just said it was the bin. We told another waitress she just shrugged her shoulders and gave us a funny look and we again told the bartender who said it’s not the bins it was the pipes. So this is ok that the pipes in a restaurant smell whilst we are eating and no apology. We then had a problem with the bill an honest mistake and the waitress was very apologetic.

Had planned to have lunch at the Brindley Place venue but after entering the very dimly lit room and shown to a tiny table next to a family with crying babies (nothing against crying babies but why seat a couple here when the there was plenty of room further away?). Made our excuses and left.

4 Family members came here for lunch and were not dissapointed the choice on the menu was varied and it was a hard to know where to start. Its itallian food at its best.

Couldn't fault the food quality. Looked good and tasted good too. But the time between the starter plates taken away and the main meal brought out was far too long. 40mins is pushing it. Add this to the 25min wait to get our table which we had reserved, left us feeling an hour of our evening had been lost. Staff friendly but clearly over booked on a busy Saturday evening. Good location overlooking canal with range of other bars and restaurants around it.

Came across this by accident, never having tried Zizzi previously decided to give it a go. Was a revelation, pizza was outstanding, my wife had spaghetti which she also sad was fab. Service was prompt and friendly, would highly recommend

My friend had never eaten here before so I thought I'd introduce him to the delights of Zizzi. Booked a table for 7 pm we arrived on time we still had a little wait didn't mind this and they quickly got us seated after people left. There menu is so varied and reasonably priced. My friend loved the calzone so much he had to take a photo. I will always choose to eat here and my friend is definitely a convert.

Me and my boyfriend came out for some lunch.. however when getting our order taken the waiter was extremely rude! Did not explain things properly and spoke to us in a rude manner. Food was good but will not be returning.

we came here for a xmas do with work in December, the place had 3 other xmas do at same time and the service was the longest ever !! waiters rarely checking on the table and food quality was poor. i was expecting more fresh and less microwaved... very disappointing

Arrived and was seated straight away, good service, hot fresh food and very pleasant atmosphere. However, the ladies toilets are disgusting, out of 3, one has no lock, one blocked and the other occupied. Was really disappointed and has put me off.

We wanted a quick meal before seeing Paul Carrack. Couldn't fault the food or service. Great. We explained that we were rushing and they acted accordingly.

Our visit to this restaurant was great, lovely set up and location by the water, the food was fantastic. The only bad thing would be waiting for a table, we waitied for around 20 minutes with no seats and it was very crowded where we had to wait, other than this it was a great meal and I would go back.

Having walked out of Harvey Nichols Brasserie as a result a dreadful and rude service what a joy to be greeted so warmly at ZiZZis by the lovely waiter with a great line in humour. Very attentive and great food. Harvey Nichols should send their staff for a pizza and see what customer service looks like

Work Christmas meal at Zizzi in the mailbox. Not relatively busy however service was really poor, wrong items delivered and looks like waiters not trained.

We had booked a table work a works night out some weeks ago and preordered our food. However, despite the pre-order the food came out very slowly with a long wait for the first course and then between courses. The food also came out a different times for people so by the time the last person was served their main everyone else had finished their meal. Staff seemed stressed and abrupt; perhaps more waiting or kitchen staff are required when a busy night is expected. Quality was also below par and not what we expected from zizzi. All in all a very disappointing evening and we will not be returning.

11月末最后一天 溜冰后犒劳一下自己 和两三伙伴一起一直想吃他家的披萨 朋友已经来过几次了 这次还点了他家的提拉米苏。 披萨是真的不错 提拉米苏有点太甜了 coke粉好像不够多 哈哈哈 但真的很好 服务员太太太太皮了！

I have been to a few of the zizzi restaurant chains and this one is definitely one that stands out for all the right reasons in regards to quality and service.

We had a lovely lunch on Tuesday. For starters, we had the soup and the garlic bread. They were both delicious, with generous portions. For mains, we had meatballs and pasta, chicken pasta and beef brisket and venison tagliatelle. All were lovely, we couldn’t fault them! All in all, we had a brilliant meal and the service was brilliant and professional. Highly recommend.

Booked on Opentable for 7 people. Turned up and they said they didn’t receive our booking and it was Open Tables issue. Terrible service as we were not offered any alternatives.

Have eaten in a few Zizzi's in different cities and I think they are great. Good is always tasty and reasonably priced! We had an anti pasti board to share between 4. I had prawn linguine which was yummy. Also tasted my friends wild boar meatballs which were great. Garlic bread delightful! 4 liqueur coffees, 2 desserts and 2 bottles for wine for £40 each. Very friendly and helpful staff! Give it a go!!

Great birthday meal for a party of 7 and great gluten free options.

After a day of shopping we decided to visit here for our evening meal. My son and husband had pizzas which they really enjoyed and I had the spaghetti bolognese which was very tasty. To finish we shared a tiramisu which was heaven. Service was very good even though it was very busy. We will return.

Was really disappointed with our eve out the most uncomfortable seating ever lack of service had to keep asking for each thing and even give the wrong bill sadly the food was as bad didn’t enjoy at all won’t be returning

Ordered bruschetta, mozzarella with speciality tomatoes (although toms were not specialities, seen them on the supermarket aisle) Main courses were tasty, hot and good portions. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere, good service, clean and we didn’t feel rushed. RECOMMENDED

I was with a few friends dining at Zizzi Italian restaurant and I enjoyed the food and service. I found the restaurant very clean with warm friendly hosts. I was there last Monday evening and felt very welcomed. The food was very fresh and served in good time when the restaurant was very busy. The service was excellent. I thank the restaurant for their food and service.

We visted here for a quick lunch with young son Staff did everything possible to accommodate us even thou they were full

Poor communication between staff and between us the customer.
