Alam in Birmingham

Si buscas ir a algún lugar con tu familia no te molestes en venir aquí a menos que quieras ir a casa con intoxicación alimentaria y que el gerente no haga nada al respecto y culpe al hecho de que hay un error dando vueltas en lugar de aceptar la rendición de cuentas. Vine aquí para mi graduación y habíamos hecho pedidos anticipados, la comida parecía estar bien al principio, pero antes de esto el servicio era muy lento, los pedidos eran todos mixtos y mi familia tuvo que ayudar a servir la comida debido a esto, un día después un grupo de mi familia que asistió a mi comida de graduación todos tuvieron intoxicación alimentaria y se enfermaron debido a comer en este restaurante. Contactó con el gerente del restaurante en. respecto a esto y él era muy defensa sin realizar una investigación exhaustiva para empezar. Intenté resolver algo con el gerente, pero luego comenzó a ignorar los mensajes. No recomendaría venir aquí a menos que quieras que tú y tu familia se envenenen.

Avoid this place its an absolute rip off, the bill came to £70 for food that normally be £30 everywhere else- Portions are very small. No water either. The mix grill they gave majority sheesh kebab less chicken. Quality of chicken curry very poor - no taste to it whatsoever. Decor ok . Service good . But your not getting value for money. Felt cheated

What a joke this is this is the 2nd time I have turned up and this place is closed despite having open on there website / and on the voicemail it says open 7 days drive over 1 hour and 40 mins to get destroyed and humiliated what a joke terrible

Why state it's open on Tuesday when it isn't 🤦‍♂️ The times were updated by owner so no it isn't a suggestion someone put in place. Wasted my time travelling from such far distance. And I called the number too and it said we do not do bookings. Its first come first serve. How else am I supposed to know it was closed

Hashim our table host was incredibly quick, patience & very very compromising with my granddaughters 16th Birthday. Everything was 5 *** star. Just one reservation on the front door was close to the table. But that was nothing compared to the waiter Hashims service & taking care of us. 5***** HASHIM

We booked alam for my daughter 16th birthday. All was really good. Hashim was 10 out of 10 service and helped and was absolutely delighted. Nothing was too much for him. Thank you hashim

Un amigo de más de 30 años recomendó este restaurante, así que le hicimos una visita. Me impresionó mucho la decoración interior. Era espacioso, bien iluminado. Era casi como entrar en un palacio. Había un ambiente musical delicado que proporcionaba música de fondo que ayudaba al ambiente relajante. Las tablas fueron grabadas e incrustadas con oro mostrando varias ubicaciones geográficas alrededor del mundo en forma de mapas de diferentes países. El personal era amable y el servicio era cordial. Para la comida principal, pedimos el Cordero Handi - piezas suculentas de cordero, adobado en una hermosa mezcla de especias, curry y hierbas. Lo hicimos con Naan y Roti. Fue tan sabroso - me olvidé de tomar una foto de él (lo siento! ). Hice una broma del hecho de que el "Café Negro" que pedí apenas se encontró a la mitad de la parte interior de la taza que entró! Pregunté si era o no una "porción infantil"? El personal y yo nos reímos, y la dirección me dio una cantidad adicional de café para llevar conmigo. Era muy rico, café oscuro y adecuado! Recomendaría el lugar para una gran noche de fiesta. El lugar y la cocina es absolutamente encantador. ¡Desafortunadamente, no hacen Poppadoms!

well beyond excellent. couldn't fault anything, very clean very helpful staff, a bit modern for my liking with the remote ordering process ,probably one of the best Pakistani restaurant I've visited since another one which was equally good closed 4 years ago in star city, this definitely is a 5 star venue with food to exceed expectations, my only criticism is very expensive, we paid for 3 people straight meals nothing to start and 2 drinks 68.00 , but couldnt fault the place,wont be going back in a hurry as much as I would like to regularly, due only to the cost. added jan. 2025.been back on 2 occasions since my review, both occasions absolute below mediocre, food was ok nothing like it was previously, but restaurant was freezing, side doors wide open with frost and snow outside, food was cold due to the doors bringing in the icy air, asked 3 times to be moved or the doors to be closed ,nothing was done as staff said they were taking a delivery of stock, ordered extra roti and nan waited 15 minutes and the asked if food could be warmed up ,waiter walked away called another waiter whose attitude was rude and dogmatic as he would not acknowledge the problems were having , manager was summoned who was another nightmare giving it the big and saying we should be patient, that was the last straw ,paid the man and left, we as a group 4 freinds who go out every week will never be returning to this place, just sheer bad management and staff who are rude and have no etiquette with customer service,

I've come for breakfast 3x. Checked their opening times on google and on their automated telephone responsre.. got there and they were closed :/ shutters down. no way of getting in contact with them too and today says they're opened. I'll change my review once I get a response.

Food not all that. , my sisters nikkah happened at alam we booked an paid per head but one guest did not arrive as he was ill , but his seat was paid for so we rightfully I should be able to take food home for him an container box when I asked the waiter nicely he said we don’t do that I don’t care we don’t allow people to take it away , but we paid for the guest that didn’t arrive , he was so rude his attitude stunk

Celebrated my daughters 7th birthday ..absolutely lovely atmosphere food was amazing and the staff was very attentive and helpful ...very well looked after ..not to forget there viral courtyard where u can dine outside ,will definitely visit again in the summer for the outside experience..

Got a very nice sizeable discount from Just Eat and decided on this place. I had the beef lasagne which was lovely and I would give this dish 4 stars. A bigger portion size would score the full 5. It came with chips which are quite unique with the some of the skin on. A family member had the chicken steak and was very disappointed with it, saying it was hard. Half of it was given to our cat who at least tucked in. 2 stars for this. I have eaten-in in the past and it’s a nice experience. Some items on the menu are good, others poor. Overall the food does not live up to the eye watering prices.

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant thanks to our server Mohammed Hashim. He was very friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. He was very polite and offered to take a group photo of us, and he even sang my friend happy birthday which made the whole experience even more special. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly and were very helpful and polite. The food was very good and arrived quickly and the menu had a wide variety of options for everyone.

Alam is an absolute gem for food lovers seeking a delightful dining experience. From the moment we walked in, the welcoming ambiance and attentive staff set the tone for what turned out to be an exceptional meal. We tried chicken parmesan, chicken kebabs, lamb handi, lamb chops. The balance of flavors was impeccable, making each bite an absolute delight. I went for my birthday meal with family mix grill was nice. But the lamb buna was bland and definitely not buna the boys had chicken Parmesan which was dry and chewy and the dinner was the same dry and tasteless when I told the man I charge he said some people like other don’t what kind of a reply is that definitely won’t be going back

I had the roast dinner yesterday and the chicken smelt, but I still offered to pay for an exchange of the food which the owner/ manager agreed. But he kept refusing to beleive that the chicken was smelly !!! Need to listen to customers and provide quality food please .

Amazing food amazing customer service from all staff felt very welcomed. The atmosphere was very quiet and peacefully I really recommend family’s and friends to go there.

The worst food I have ever eaten in my life. Waste of £50. The steak was disgusting. The mash was vile. The salad was stale and looked like it was taken out the bin before being put on a plate. The food was so bad I got ill. I was vomitting and had diarrhoea all night.

My stomach is still hurting from the food I had from here! I would not recommend the food to anyone tbh.

Very good experience here at Alams, We were greeted by very friendly staff whom took us to the new courtyard! Great place to take the Mrs with the atmosphere and good food. Bit on the pricier side but it's a good experience for special occasions.

Ordered a lamb handi, chicken handi, chicken biryani and a samosa chaat Only positive was the lamb handi, meat was soft and tender and very tasty Chicken handi tasted mediocre Samosa chaat was below average Chicken biryani was super spicy and lacked flavour, not to mention minimal chicken in it Like I always say everyones taste buds differ and opinions are different but this is my honest opinion All in all, OVERPRICED for the QUALITY of food...

We had a lovely experience at Alam Restaurant! The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. The service was outstanding and all staff were extremely friendly. A special thank you to Muhammed Hashim who looked after us so well. Will definitely be returning to explore the rest of the menu!

Visiting from London! Came for breakfast and it was amazing! We ordered the Pakistani Omelette and Cheese Omelette which was delicious. We then ordered the French Toast each and I must say it’s the BEST we’ve ever had! The Mango Lassi was tasty, and the Hot Mocha was so good! The staff were extremely friendly and polite. Free parking at the rear, just pop your number plate in the iPad upon arrival. We would certainly recommend and come back here for sure!

Busharat and Khurram gave a wonderful welcoming and attentative customer service. Great members of the team. Restaurant is a nice spot to come with family and friends.

Where to start? The staff there are completely lost. I asked for a menu and was told it’s only online, so I have to scan a QR code to get the menu; however, the table behind us was given a menu. Then once we were ready to place an order, we called the staff multiple times, and they just walked past us, and when they came to our table, they took forever just to take the order. Then the food arrived. The starters were pretty good, I must say; however, the actual food (mains) when they arrived, they were absolutely horrible. The mushroom sauce was excessive on the steaks, and the steaks tasted horrible; they were extremely chewy. Overall, my experience here was not as good as I thought it’d be, as when I walked in, I was walked into the back area where everyone was smoking shisha, which is pretty silly to take someone there without asking if they smoked or not. It is highly unlikely I’ll return here in the near future, if ever.

I went to @alam.restaurant again and don't fall for the same trap! They just have such a huge menu of all sorts of dishes but I wish I tried their proper desi dishes. Honestly don't fill yourself up with their mixed grills and sides, because this Nihari was brilliant. I've had the best Nihari's from Pakistan and this resonated with that. I didn't expect it to be this good. Even the biryani had a nice spice to it. What makes it even better is their naans are excellent. Thin with a nice toasted base. I did try new dishes on their menu such as the Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Tikka and wings - all pretty good and nice they have a good selection of western food for those that want it. Lots of "nice" looking spots I go to just don't have the real Pakistani food. The Nihari here was serious. Please try it and tell me I'm not mad because it was real authentic imo. I've come a few times before and what bought me back was their Achari ghosht which is excellent and now I've found something even better. Respect @alam.restaurant for doing some proper desi food 🙌

Great place. £2 parking for 2 hours out behind the resturant. On street parking hard to find.

Came at extremely busy time but they made every effort to seat us within 5 mins even though wait time was 20 mins. Food was delicious; lamb nehari tasted divine, sea bass was flaky and cook perfectly, kids had nuggets, kids pizza was the cheesiest pizza ever they loved it, beef lasagne actually had rich beef mince in it, cheese pasta was a little dry but my kids loved it, king prawn was HUUUUUGE, it was so reasonably priced and the waiters were so lovely and amazing and always there when needed will definitely come back child friendly and family friendly. 5 stars is not enough for this place. £150 worth ever penny.

Upon arrival i was greeted by a nice pleasant waiter by the name of waseem he seated us down and thoroughly explained what the menu consisted of and helped us out ordering i would recommend trying out the new menu they have as it has quite some new options there like the butter chicken i tried was very flavourful. thanks again to the young man waseem’s attentive service

We visited Alam at the weekend,overall it was ok but the food was expensive .we ordered mix grill it was a small portion ,then we had karahi which was again pricey and it was just ok.the presentation was just below the average.the plate where the karahi was served was cracked.i would say guy who deal with us gave us good service as compared to food .I would recommend them to work at their ambiance more it should be more welcoming and also prices should be reasonable so somebody think to comeback and also chef need to understand in karahi the meat size should be bite size.thank you

The service provided at this restaurant used to be great but it has gone downhill. We ordered a donner main, it was ordinary donner kebab which is what many chip shops offer. The best bit about the main meal were the complimentary ketchup and mayonnaise jars. The desserts were great, and was the best part of the whole meal. The customer service was appalling, the saving grace was one waiter with the shoulder length hair. The waiter allocated to our table did not explain the ordering process, my meal was delayed by around 30 minutes, no apology or explanation was offered. I will not be visiting again and this is mainly due to the poor service.

Food was absolutely superb, our server Muhammad Hashim was very welcoming and polite. He was very attentive to our needs and gave us extra gravy. He also specially gifted us a cheesecake on the house. Bless his cotton socks.

My husband and I; came to Birmingham today from Middlesbrough on a work trip for a few days. We wanted to dine in at a restaurant, so we came across this place online (Only really decided to go because the restaurant has my husbands initials and surname lol, so we wasn't expecting much). To our surprise, the restaurant had beautiful decor inside and out, the ambience of the restaurant was very relaxing, the food was absolutely delicious and the service from our waiter, brother Khurram was amazing Masha'Allah. Definitely recommend this place to everyone. It is family friendly, has parking behind the restaurant - must give reg plate when you enter the restaurant, they take cash and card, and importantly it's Halal Masha'Allah. Will definitely visit again soon Insha'Allah. =)

Me and my family loved this restaurant so much! It’s the first restaurant that came to my mind when we thought of taking our grandparents out as it has such a calm and friendly atmosphere and it’s very Muslim friendly. Their staff is very polite and calm. And their customer service is 10/10. Would definitely recommend to others and 100% go back again!
