Alam Restaurant in Birmingham is a true hidden gem. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with elegant decor that creates the perfect ambiance for a relaxed meal. The service was outstanding – the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with a range of authentic dishes full of flavor. If you’re looking for a place with great food and exceptional service in a lovely setting, Alam is definitely worth a visit.

We been served by Mohammed hashim he did his best to make sure our stay was very pleasant. Also I must say he did take good pictures also. Definitely would be coming here again

Really disapointed to be honest. Ordered ribeye steak and a mixed platter, ribeye was chewy with no seasoning, Mixed platter has all the same seasonings in the meats just very boring i wont be in a rush to come back.

Just visited Alam’s after quite a long time and I must admit the restaurant has done a complete 180. My first visit wasn’t so great and there were a few things lacking, however after visiting this time round, I have seen some great changes that really make the place stand out. Love the courtyard side of the restaurant, it was warm, cosy and has a nice aesthetic. The food was really lovely as were the drinks. The service was fantastic as every need was adhered to and everything explained on arrival by really polite staff, food also arrived promptly. Parking is plentiful as they have a shared parking space with the supermarket next door, situated on grange road. Very convenient as parking is an important factor for me. Complete turn around for me on this one. Impressed and will be returning.

Mohammed Hashim served me and my family today and we had an amazing time with the great service. The portion sizes are really good and filling and the food tastes amazing.

The food was great . Everything tasted fresh and flavourful. We had a mix of starters chicken pakora , tandoori wings , lamb chops and seekh kebab and samosa chaat . For the main we had archari ghost which was really nice and the naans were so soft and fresh . The kids loved the mocktails . The service was also great we had Muhammad Hasham attending our table and he made us feel very welcome and comfortable. He was very helpful and made sure all ours needs were seen to he also gave us some cheesecakes to try which were also really nice. Overall the food was a little costly but I guess you pay for the quality.

Khurram served us last night who was quite pleasant every thing went quite nicely until we ordered the ice cream which came and we pointed out that it was the wrong flavour so the lad went to change which resulted in quite an argument with this lad by a woman who I presume was working on the dessert she then came back with our rightful order and sort of banged it on our table at the corner of the table all the time arguing with the lad . We called her back and asked her and this resulted in a full blow argument with us she was ill mannered and very rude we then called khurram over asked him what was going on he said and the other lad she has an attitude we asked to speak to management but the supervisor was on the till and never came over his name is zeeshan Khurram was very apologetic and the other lad But the management seemed scared of this woman Overall the whole evening was ruined and then we porceded to pay again nothing from zeeshan we left feeling shaken and upset and then when I came home I realised they have overcharged us I would never recommend this restaurant the management stinks and workers have attitudes

Alam is an exceptional restaurant with amazing service, staff and food that caters to all Masha’Allah. I have gone to Alam serval’s times now and it has never disappointed. With varies areas to sit we have always received lovely service from all staff and the food always tastes as it’s been made with care and love. Thank you!

Was visiting Birmingham and decided to try out Alam Resturant. After driving around looking for a parking space, we realised they have a free car park - be sure to use this! We went with the intention of ordering French toast from the breakfast menu, however we arrived a little too late and this menu wasn't available which was no problem at all as the food we ordered was delicious! The tagliatelle chicken pasta was divine and the smash cheese burger was just as good, the milkshake was rich and creamy and strawberry milkshake was sweet and tangy (not loaded with ice & watered down). Special mention to Khurram who was serving us, very welcoming and accommodating. He had no problem in us switching tables when we decided we would rather sit inside appose to the courtyard table we chose first! Very professional and attentive. Thank you for making our meal enjoyable Khurram! Will definitely be back.

A surprise on our first trip to conventry road. The area is basically something out of a strange movie, like the Midlands version of top boy but then we saw this beautiful old building with a gorgeous decor and we had to give it a try. Gorgeous hidden kids garden hidden at the back with decorations you'd expect anywhere but there, giant light up flowers and umbrellas hanging over head, it was all a bit Alice in Wonderland. The desserts were lovely, the quarantine measures actually took us by surprise, a machine that scanned our temperature and electronically recorded our contact details. For a family that would've have ordered a take away it put us at ease and the seating arrangements had us unable to see the next group along. Excellent job on that front. Finally the staff, attentive, friendly and fast to react when we wanted something... I'm thoroughly impressed and I'd love to return... Still can comprehend the location but a massive well done to the management for putting together such a gorgeous place. *Edit* Have been back a few times since, the shisha courtyard is great, one of the best shishas in Birmingham, good prices, excellent service and lovely area to sit.

Visited for the first time. Had a large family meal at Alams and loved everything about this place. Food was amazing and we tried everything from the mixed grill, steaks, curries, biriyani through to the mocktails, cheesecakes and ice creams. All food tasted great and was cooked to perfect. Khurram served me and my brother today. It was our first time coming to the restaurant (we come all the way from London) and we were blown away by the quality, service and decor. I highly recommend this place for sure. I would definitely come here again in the future.

In we go, a restaurant set out in the heart of Coventry Road, parking a little difficult but we found one a quarter of a mile away. Beautiful decor, lovely presentation, nice waiting area So top marks. Downside: had to Line up at the till to place the order for food, not impressed, so each time you need a extra naan bread you go and line up whilst the kids pinch all the chicken. Ordered "Red Donner", lamb balti extra hot and chicken nuggets for the children. I assumed the "Red Donner" would be some sort of exotic kebab meat, whose recipe has been guarded closely for generations! Sadly it was The normal Donner Kebab from Saqib’s with food colouring to make it look different so that's the Red Donner done! Lamb Balti was tasty I must say, I did ask for extra hot, it was milder then mild, so that's a knock down. The children were enjoying their chicken nuggets so they must have been tasty. Ordered a "Darjeeling" tea, expecting it to taste something different, sadly to me it was nothing short of a cup of PG Tips from Sids cafe down the road. Desert... ordered cake and custard, custard was served in a little bowl as if it was worth its weight in gold! Ice cream came in a "Egg Cup" That’s our evening done.

Mohammad Hashim was so kind and gave us cheesecakes on the house. Service was fast and food tasted amazing. Portions were quite small but overall experience was great.

It was a great experience. We visited from Scotland and wanted to find a place with great food that catered to everyone’s loves. Alam was perfect for this! The food was delicious - with the right kind of spice and flavour. We had lovely mocktail with dry ice which added a bit of entertainment to our dinner. The service was impeccable! Khuram made sure everything was okay and we were enjoying the food. His kindness made our day!

Ordered a mixed grill came cold, chicken tikka was not fully cooked told the waiter he took a piece to the back in the kitchen and come back and offered us 2 chicken wings i said are you having a laugh he called the manager he gave us a few pounds discount not good enuff put us right off the food and place felt like walking out without paying and i took a picture to prove it! Will never go back there again too over rated!

I had arrived for dinner not knowing what to expect as last time I had a better experience. The service from staff was decent. However the food was horrible. I have come here before a few months ago but the food was not this bad. After placing the order all the food came within 20 minutes. Lamb chops had a very strong smell of uncooked meat. Chicken pasta had no taste and was very bland. Lamb kharahi was re heated and had no flavour or taste whatsoever. Will definitely not be coming back here. Do not recommend. Spent almost £50 on food with no taste absolutely disappointed.

would not recommend staff were so rude curry was ok but £15 for one portion of curry and £5 for 2 naans is despicable cup’s absolutely stank need to be disinfected correctly not worth the money got interrogated at the till would not recommend

Got robbed 👀 £18 for 6 naans? Chicken curry & Lamb curry same size as a bowl of coco pops @ a cost of £14.99. Each. We came from London to do some shopping for the day.. by London standards definitely over priced, over hyped, under served and a silly qr scan for ordering that was way to fiddly. Shame was really looking forward to a nice meal. Oh did I mention £4 for a bottle of water 🤦‍♂️😂

A bit expensive but lovely food. I'm going again for breakfast on Saturday this week. I think breakfast is the best food. Had lunch a few times but it's not as good as breakfast. The omelette and the French toast is just the best. Me and my friend go there 1-2 times a month.

The restaurant itself is beautiful. The food however was dissapointing. Went in for a quick breakfast, ordered keema paratha and yogurt with a pot of tea (all items about £5 each). The paratha was so thin and transluscent, had hardly any keema in! The yogurt was about 2 spoons worth, for £5! The pot of jasmine tea was honestly the best thing

First time visiting Alum, it was an amazing experience, the food, the service everything was top notch and a huge thank you to Muhammad Hashim and all the other staff members for amazing service.

Was disappointed in the food we ordered. Am only reviewing what we ordered. Meat bolognaise seemed precooked or frozen and then heated in microwave/oven. It wasn't fresh at all. Chips were almost as thin as crisps and weren't of quality. Red donner wasn't brilliant. Just tasted as normal donner. I do feel alot of the food is precooked and then heated in microwave and oven. I understand the new QR scanner menu as technology has advanced; however it caused alot of glitches and at first the QR scanner was picking up other websites instead of the menu. Not user friendly at all. It felt like ordering on 'just eat'. In conclusion a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The staff were friendly and did their job well. We've decided we won't be coming back to this restaurant.

I received a 30% discount voucher for my birthday, only to find out I couldn't use it. Initially, I was told the 30% discount was no longer offered. When I showed the email, the waiter then claimed the voucher was only valid Monday to Friday, not on weekends. Nowhere in the voucher's terms did it state this restriction—it clearly said it was valid on my birthday. When I asked to speak to the manager, they hid in the kitchen. It seems like a clever tactic to lure customers in and then deny the discount. Beware of this scam, everyone!

Poor service. I would be skeptical coming here. We had 30% off as a birthday voucher. But the management said we cannot use on a weekend when the birthday fell on a Saturday. And management refused to have a chat with us. I would avoid. Plenty other places with better food and service.

The food was good, prices are fine, however i didn’t like the order online even though we are dining in, the human contact is an essential part of the experience and it was lost, we always ask for recommendations from staff but here it was just too complicated and tiring for them as well to order online then having to check with us on how we want our food separate or all together. Might order delivery but won’t dine in again

Food was a little above average and tasted okay (ribeye steak) but the service was just awful.The waiter led us to the most uncomfortable looking table right by the toilets even though there were plenty of others available. You have to scan the QR code to order yourself which is a faf and the waiters just looked miserable. Not a single one was able to smile, ask if the food was okay or if we needed anything else, or even say so much as thanks, bye when leaving or helped with the door as there were steps to get the pram down. No light background music playing or mood lighting even though it was passed 6pm. Overall very odd mood of the place and nothing special enough about it to ever return.

Went to Alam’s for my twin (brother and sister) Birthday meal💕 Great place to eat in, staff was friendly and food was delicious. Deffo recommend the Achari Lamb, lot of dishes to choose. You have to taste their amazing cheesecakes (divine)😋 Beautiful garden 🌸and Shisha Lounge. The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. Always a favourite. For meetings, events or just food with friends. Food is fresh and tasty, mocktails are great. They have a shared car park behind Al Halal, ideal for Coventry Rd. The Courtyard is definitely a unique outdoor dining experience perfect for dessert and tea!
