Zizzi in Lancaster

Decent fast-casual mediterranean restaurant. The food seems to be prepared off-site and just heated up and garnished in the location. The upside of this is that the order arrived very fast. I had the chicken calabrese. It was a lot of potatoes with very little chicken. The flavor was pretty good but I found it to be way too oily. While they prepared our food we caught a glimpse of the oven. Looks pretty disgusting even from far away and definitely needs a proper cleaning. Given the fairly low occupancy levels, this was definitely not just from the day of our visit.

Went on a Friday night, the atmosphere was buoyant and friendly. We had the calamari starter, seabass, and calzone as mains. All tasted very nice and good for a large chain restaurant. The staff were lovely and attentive. Will go again when in Lancaster.

Waited 45 min to be served and still I service so left and went next door to gallico lounge got seated and served straight away

Zizzis Lancaster is really nice. The food is really good and the staff are lovely and practically falling over themselves to help you where they can! There is an open kitchen area with a fantastic pizza oven and the bar serves really quickly. We had a mixed sharer which was a great idea and tasted great. Also had dessert and the tiramisu was to die for. Went to go again yesterday with my family for my son's birthday (he's at Lancaster university) but apparently it closes at 4 on Monday which is a real shame so we went elsewhere.

Pros : Food itself was lovely, had favourites sharing board, new potatoes and mixed leaf salad. Cons:The service was shocking, nobody came over to our table once the first food was ready. Eventually almost 3/4 hour after finishing and not being asked if we wanted any more drinks or deserts,(which we actually did), we got up to leave. On walking past the bar the v.young staff, 3 in total were wishing me a good evening, not even realising we hadn't even paid. I had to tell them and explain the situation.Totally unacceptable behaviour from a very inexperienced team.

Had a meal last night with family and friends, 5:15 last night and they had no lemonade or fruit cider. When it came to the food, 2 of the dishes we selected were unavailable as they had run out of some of the ingredients, so 2nd choices were made. One of the meals chosen was pork served with new potatoes, asparagus and green beans. When it arrived, it was pork with chips. green beans and spinach leaves with no prior notice of the changes. We also had to ask 3 times for water on the table before we actually got some, which arrived after we had finished eating. I have to be honest and say the rest of the dishes we had were very good and the manager removed the pork meal from the bill. My issue is more with organisation and planning, running out of ingredients by 5pm on a Saturday during the Xmas period suggests a real lack of foresight and it really coloured what should have been a great visit.

A fresh take on Italian restaurants. Lots of original recipes that you won't find in other restaurants. Yes you get pizza and pasta but not your typical types. The decor is lovely with hand painted murals on the walls and halo lighting above that give zizzi a lovely warm feel and set a fitting backdrop to the friendly atmosphere. There is a full width busy kitchen at the back with a huge stone pizza oven and all fully open so you can watch the chefs at work. The staff are friendly and attentive. Well worth a visit.

Xmas lunch with daughter, food is excellent, service excellent, alot of competition around them but i rate them Top. Highly recommend, if you have never been then try as you will not regret x Love it ❤️

Went in for a Friday night meal and the food was fabulous. Served by Adam who was lovely and so helpful! Had the rustica pizzas and they were delicious, Will definitely be back soon.

Dined in , lovely food and service but cashless, told they do take cash but struggle to provide change , wont be going again due to the cashless situation .

Just read loads of bad reviews about zizzis however, this was hands down the best meal I have had ( especially the desserts) I had the winter zucca salad which was amazing it had chunks of beetroot and pumpkin with hummus and a lovely cranberry sauce, my girlfriend had the vegan lasagne which she said was amazing but ate it all before I got to try. The staff were very friendly and made us feel comfortable, there was a lovely atmosphere and quick service. The desserts…. Heavenly. I had the honeycomb cheesecake and I was so full but I could not bare to leave any of and I will be returning specifically for the cheesecake. My girlfriend had the passion fruit ice cream which she did let me try and it was so flavourful and just delicious overall, it even came with half a passion fruit. I could go on but I think ide be here all day. I went here over 2 weeks ago and still won’t stop talking about it. Would 10/10 recommend.

First visit here, it was very cold throughout our visit to the point where I wanted to put my coat back on. The waitress blamed this on the doors and apologised. The food wasn't great, the pizza was very thin and burnt in places, the risotto had hard bits of rice in it. We ate quick as we were getting quite cold. The prices are quite high compared with other similar restaurants locally. We didnt enjoy our experience and will not be going back.

Standard Zizzi food and ambience. However, service was excellent with staff always smiling and making us feel comfortable.

It was okay, service was let down by who I assume is the manager, the table service function wasn't working either. It didn't feel like a £50 dining experience, for food that was average. It was also freezing inside!

They need to allow people to order via app. Been there several times as it says its not activated. As staff are not the friendliest I'd much rather order via app.

Our recent dining experience at this restaurant was an absolute delight. The herb rolled pork belly was a culinary masterpiece, boasting tender and flavorful pork that practically melted in your mouth. The herb infusion added depth to the dish that was truly exceptional. Equally impressive was the Casareccia Pesto Rosso. The al dente pasta was perfectly complemented by the vibrant and aromatic red pesto sauce, creating a burst of Italian flavors that danced on the palate. From start to finish, our meal was a gastronomic journey filled with bold and harmonious flavors. This restaurant has certainly earned a spot on our list of favorites, and we can't wait to return for another mouthwatering experience.

Terrible service. Were told 30 min wait for food but after 20 mins nobody had even taken an order. Starters ok (but had better in other Zizzi restaurants) then one hour wait for mains. Two dishes had to be sent back as not cooked properly. Eat-in customers took back seat to takeaway orders. Not enough staff although very quiet on a Monday night and not experienced enough to deal with customers.

I didn't get any service after an hour of waiting, in end I left in disgust.

First time eating in Zizzi and we were not disappointed. It was relatively quiet when we went in but it’s a lovely restaurant and we had excellent service from all staff. Food tasted great and we had hardly wait at all. I’d definitely go again.

Service was excellent, food was great but could do with bringing out free dips for pizza when eating in.

When me and my friends first arrived we were told that they were out of pizza and bread. This removed a large chunk of options from the menu and it’s an Italian place - one of the main reasons you go is for the pizza. After having a disappointing experience at a different zizzis I played it safe and got a chicken skewer and buffalo mozzarella salad. These turned out to be the safest options. Although these two plus the sprite came to a whopping £18 ish for average quality small amount of food. My friends got the chorizo cabonara and the beef ragu. Both had a very odd taste to them that resembled plastic. The friend that got the beef ragu physically couldn’t bring herself to eat it. I tried it and it was one of the worst things I’ve tried from a restaurant. When you visit a chain you expect consistency and quality and this really had neither. The only saving grace was the server who was lovely. Also bless her as she was the only person serving the whole restaurant. Last note: why the hell was one sprite £3.50. If you’re fancying Italian in Lancaster here are two FAR better options: - buscellis (I can never remember how to spell it). It’s family run and literally a street away. - Aquila pizza. Although you can’t eat in it’s the best pizza I’ve eaten.

Badly organised, food passable, staff seemed clueless. After waiting over an hour for a kids pizza I had to find a member of staff to enquire about it. The restaurant wasn’t busy on a Wednesday lunchtime yet the two waitresses were out of sight most of the time. No update after asking about the pizza although I did hear the chef say he didn’t know about it. After the pizza I again had to track down a waitress to ask for the lolly and drink included in the kids meal. It took a further 25 minutes for the lolly to appear. Very disappointing after visiting other Zizzi restaurants before.

Felt cold, kids wanted there coats on, asked for air conditioning to be turned down and told it wasn't on and they would put heating on, made no difference. Waited long time for food, adult meals were OK but kids pasta with tomato sauce had very little sauce and tasted bland, she didn't eat it. Paying bill was a performance, handed mobile machine and was difficult to establish how to not tip. Probably won't return

Food was good and the atmosphere was calm the service was very very quick.

Service was very slow and the food had to be returned as it could be best described as warm. Other customers walked out due to waiting too long to be offered drinks.

Absolutely fabulous service. My mum has a dairy allergy and they were super on the ball with list and alternatives, her plate even came with stickers on to make sure nothing was mixed up x We ordered the food which came in approximately 15min and was super yummy.. would definitely recommend and will definitely be back x

Service and food was lovely 🥰 , lovely place for a family meal

A group of six of us went in on Mother’s Day. A lot of the foods were off and they informed us that the lasagne hadn’t been taken out of the freezer. So not fresh food at fresh prices then. We stayed and five of us ordered from the Mother’s Day £23.50 for 3 courses menu. My husband paid the bill. I didn’t notice until after that they had only put two of us through at that price. We won’t be going back again.

Had a bad experience here when it first opened, and tried it again recently. Average pizza, poor menu (didn’t have three of the items we ordered, and vegetarian options have little variation). service was good, staff friendly.

Great pizza served by lovely staff

Went to Zizzis on Sunday evening. It wasn't particularly busy. I liked the free pasta crisps on the table and the setting and atmosphere was really nice. My husband had pesto rosso which he said was OK, my daughter had a margherita which was huge and very much made me wish I'd had a pizza! She enjoyed it. I had the chorizo carbonara which had a huge amount of pancetta which was not well cooked and a bit gristly...but there was no chorizo at all. Now I am the kind of person that when someone comes to your table to ask if everything's OK then I will say if there is an issue- how else are they meant to put it right? Well no one came, so we ate. The plates were cleared promptly and we asked for pudding menus. We sat for 20 minutes with these menus. The server came and spoke to the other 4 tables in our area - I made eye contact and nodded and smiled at him several times but he didn't get the cues. In the end I waved and called him over and just asked for the bill. He asked then how the meal had been and I specifically answered 'OK'. In my mind if a customer says things were OK, I'd be asking about that, but he didn't. So OK = a 3 star review. We had vouchers from Christmas so it ended up being a very cheap meal. If I'd have paid full price I'd have been really unhappy. We did get a free garlic bread by signing up to the Zillionaire's club though and that was a lot bigger than expected. OK food and OK service means it is not a place for us.

The food was absolutely delicious, excellent and the staff were very friendly.

Went for lunch with my girlfriend and the staff were lovely and we got our drinks within 30 seconds and our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Only had a pizza each but there were lovely and I would definitely go again.

I booked a birthday party for my son and specifically asked about dietary requirements and whether a pizza could be made with no cheese prior to booking, due to an allergy to dairy. Having being told it was possible I made a booking for 17 people. Unfortunately on the day this could not be accommodated as the ordering system would not allow it. Sadly the human element of customer service was lacking from a strict protocol and could not deviate from the computer ordering system. A pizza base with just tomato sauce could not be made. It was a very upsetting and disappointing experience, especially given the upfront conversation which had been had. I still find it hard to believe that a request of no cheese on a child’s pizza took precedence over losing the business of a large booking. Thankfully Lancaster Pizza Hut came to the rescue being able to accommodate 17 people at short notice. Lancaster Pizza Hut could not have been more helpful and were able to cater for the request with no issues.

Really slow service throughout, from waiting to be seated, ordering the food and waiting for the bill. The calamari was like rubber and anaemic and the calzone was more bread than pizza with very little filling. Waste of money.

Service was good and staff friendly, sadly the food was not great, very expensive pizzas with very few toppings, would not return.

Usually rate zizis however got food for collection on Christmas Eve and realised there was a mini screw/bolt in my pasta dish 😕

Portion sizes very small. Hardly any toppings on the pizzas, spag bol was a tiny amount of mince and sauce. Everything seemed to take ages even waiting for sauces or drinks in a very quiet restaurant. All main meals are more like starter sizes

Absolutely shocking service, 3 staff for the whole restaurant on at Saturday and still letting all walk in costumers through the door. 40 mins wait for a drink and between courses, food was mediocre at best. Definitely will not be returning! When I asked why they were still letting in walk-in's when clearly understaffed they just said they know but the head chef said to.

The food was okay. Didn't enjoy the calamari. They even forgot my drink but refunded the money. Bit disappointed with their service. The sweet potato fries with the salsa sauce saved the day.

Not great at all, waited ages for food and such small portions for the price. The staff, however, were very nice.

Disappointing, purchased two prawn linguine at £14.95 each one of which only contained 4 prawns in the dish, ordered a garlic bread, bottle of sparkling water and a glass of wine, totalled £47. Food was poor quality for the price but on the plus side the service was good.

Impossible to understate how badly run this Establishment is. Ordered 3 starters before they find one they could fulfill, going back to the kitchen between each failure. The mains the arrived before the starters, so we asked for our starters. Starters arrived cold and cheesey garlic Bread had neither garlic nor cheese on it. Mains arrive again, mine missing it’s main ingredient, chicken. Sent it back, and I kid you not they dump cold wet chicken on it, don’t heat it at all, and take it back to me, at which point I ask them to cook it... they put it in the oven for 20 seconds and so I give it back. This happens several times before the chicken is finally hot, however by this point the dough has burnt entirely. Comically awful, I’ve been to street stalls in third world countries all of which had better food and service than this joke of an establishment

A little annoyed on my second visit. The food was so nice the first time, just a shame there was no consistency with the quality when I returned. There were a some options on the menu which were unavailable, this was at a prime time on a Friday evening so thought this was a bit poor. The Vegan meatballs which I had for a starter were lacking somewhat in the vegan cheese department. The garlic bread with mozzarella had very little mozzarella. Now, my biggest annoyance of the Evening was when my Rustica Margherita arrived. There was not much Mozzarella, not much anything really other than pizza dough. It was almost as if they were expecting a Mozzarella shortage. On my previous visit the pizza had generous amounts of cheese and sauce. Did not bother getting an afters. Just disappointing this time round.

Cosy atmosphere, staff great. Food, pretty good. For me the pizza could have been cooked a little longer to crisp up the dough. A little disappointed that 3 of the desserts had already run out, but it was towards the end of the day. Enjoyed the experience.

Had a meal here after going to the Vue cinema just around the corner. Very polite and friendly staff. Very helpful. Food was great.

Went for a family meal after my sisters Graduation. Food was lovely! Had the calzone and it was full of filling and delicious, all my family really enjoyed their meals. Service was great! Was served by the manager, Frances (had blue hair) who was very polite and welcoming, nothing was a bother and served with a smile. Would definitely visit this store again when in the area!

Mostly good but… We were welcome by very enthusiastic staff. We opted for set menus. Food was in the main good and appetising. I particularly enjoyed the idea of my main, a type of chicken stew with potatoes and vegetables. My cheesecake was also very nice. However the only drawback was that both my wife’s pasta dish and my main had an issue: the chicken was borderline dry.

Went on the 24th July for my daughters birthday with the family. 10 adults and 3 children. A bit of wait at the desk before being shown to the table. I went to the bar as I was first and was told it was table service. I needed to wait without a drink until they came to serve us. The food was a bit expensive but nice. The service was good. The drinks however were horrendously expensive. 2 shandy £16.00! £5.00 for a bottle of beer. Over £6.00 for a small wine and soda. £3.65 for a small bottle of coke. We had a gift card but they wouldn't accept it as it should be added before any other money. They added 27.50 service charge automatically.we asked this to be removed as it was discretionary. Very expensive evening. We wouldn't go again.

Went into Lancaster today with work colleagues and we had lunch, I was extremely impressed with the decor both inside and out, the staff were very friendly and whilst setting us asked if there were any allergies or intolerances that they needed to be aware of. Food was presented very well, we had a sharing platter to begin which was ample for three and then we had our mains risotto, calzone and a salad all of which were presented well and delicious. I would definitely recommend Zizzi’s and I will be returning. Thanks guys. Oh yes the Pasta crisps are to die for.😋😋

beautiful experience from the moment we stepped in, to the paying of the bill. A young lady called Sarah was excellent, warm, and very engaging, the food was brilliant, so many veggie options, and the price was very reasonable too. Highly recommended, will definitely be returning back there again with friends, 5*

Absolutely awful! They didn't have half of the menu which they would tell us up to 20 minutes after ordering something. My colleague was served cold rissoto, and they seemed to be able to produce any dish on the menu in 2 minutes. Must have a large bank of microwaves.

First time trying out Zizzis (delivery) - first of all the ordering process on deliveroo proved difficult. Finding out how to claim our free rustico pizza for spending over £30 was basically impossible - hence not getting our freebie! Still wanted to try anyway so ordered without. Mozzarella arrancini balls sounded awesome but unfortunately they never arrived - somehow we received some bread and dips instead, much to our dismay. Also liked the sound of courgetti fries but they were burnt to a crisp couldn't even taste the courgette :( pizza was nice and garlic bread with mozz and caramelised onions was the highlight.

Fairly new restaurant. Slow service, more important to for staff to stand in groups and chatter. Firstly starter delivered to wrong table then brought to ourselves,but it was wrong sharing starter. Then the mains, 2 arrived, then my lasagne arrived 3 or 4 mins later. It had a plastic hot sticker on the bowl. The food really good and tasty,but perhaps waiting on staff get a shake up

Waited that long for service even just to order that we left 🤷🏻‍♂️ why even give a menu if you don’t follow up with service 😂 also online ordering didn’t recognise table number for outside unfortunately so couldn’t even remedy the poor service with placing an order this way.

Not a good dining experience. Giving 1 star because the Sparkling Water was good. Waited over an hour during a very quiet time for my order. In that time 3 different groups came in, ordered, ate and paid their bill before I even got my food. One of the waiters actually asked me if I wanted "anything else," and I said "yeah, my order." Customer service was good when I entered and ordered, but non-existed until the lady delivered my meal to the table. When order arrived, it was no better than a microwaved pasta meal.

Really nice pizza with good quality ingredients and well made. Arrived super fast and with care. Would highly recommend. 4 stars as I thought it was a little on the expensive side for takeaway but it is restaurant quality food.

Bad customer service and rude it’s just opened

Been 3 times in as many weeks each time we’ve been there was no salmon available. The Zucca salad had 2 main Ingredients missing, and just to add insult the staff had no idea how to action a BUYAGIFT voucher! Doubtful if we’ll ever go back 3 times is more than enough

Poorly staffed, was waiting for 50 minutes during a quiet period and didn’t get drinks or food order taken so had to leave. Venue was clean and we appreciated the free crisps but service too slow and disorganised with no order to the customer prioritisation.

Sadly, a poor experience for a group of 8 on the 29th of May. It started with our reservation for 4 which we asked to modify and were told we couldn't as the restaurant was full. We went online and easily added a second reservation for 4. When we arrived, we requested to sit together in the upper seating to be told it was reserved, which wasn't the case as the tables sat empty for the rest of the night. They did let us push our tables together and told us we could only have one bill, which wasn't a problem. At payment time, we sorted our cash only to be told that they only accept cards, information which would have been good to know when we entered. Food was good, not great. It's a shame as our past experience at other Zizzi restaurants was vastly better. Hopefully, just growing pains.

Restaurant itself is beautiful, the decoration is lovely and I love the nod to Lancaster. Food was really good and the staff are all really friendly.

Food was great apart from having hair in the starter so they replaced it and said they would take it off the bill when the bill came it wasn't taken off disappointed for a new establishment

The service is shocking. How many waiting staff have to walk past your table multiple times before they take your order or clear you plates? We sat with our plates Infront of us for over an hour before someone asked if we were finished or wanted any desserts/ more drinks. Praise them on being on top of allergies.

Lancaster- Food was lovely, the timing of each course perfect, drinks refilled regularly and very friendly and attentive staff. Couldn't ask for more!

Delicious pizza and lovely staff!

Only just opened so we decided to give it a go. We opted to sit outside as was warm weather and the outdoor seating area was clean and nicely covered. Drinks were nice i would highly recomened the rasbery and mint spritz 👍 food was excellent, nicely presented and the pizza was huge! Service was okay but could be better, staff were very nice and helpful but little things like bringing the mains at the same time, clearing plates from starters, offering more drinks and asking how the food is would have been nice, however they have only just opened so everyones still getting into the swing of things, give them a month and i'm sure it will be excellent! Will be going again.

The atmosphere, service and food were utterly superb and exemplary tonight. We'll be back again for sure. Thank you so much for a thoroughly wonderful evening 😁

Started out with friendly staff and pleasant environment, music steadily got louder. Dined from the Summer specials menu starters and mains over cooked, and added extra for garnish ie to improve the look of it. The extra being chilli, after we had advised allergy reaction to chilli at table. Saving grace was the desert best we have had in a long time.

From first experience this is so well-ran. Those pasta crisps are unreal! Very affordable menu too. Good luck, I’m sure you will do well!
