Zizi in Liverpool

Went in as I've a celiac son and seen online they cater GF. Waitress was very good and informative but my god £28 for a little pizza I nearly dropped but I didnt want to refuse my teenager as being celiac it's not often he can have a take away. Needless to say he won't be having one to often. I just cant justify nearly 30 quid for a bloody pizza shame on them chargin this.

An unforgiveable long wait on food. Conventional Italian with prices that don't merit the mediocre cuisine. Very Poor

Felt very looked after at Speke Retail Zizzi and had very fast service. Very kind and helpful when asked questions that weren’t about the food. Would go again ;)

We visited as a family at 6ish on a Saturday. We came after being at Cineworld - it’s a good job we weren’t coming before the film as we would have missed it. Despite being half empty, we waited almost an hour for starters to arrive, then another 25 mins after that for our food to arrive. Slow service is an understatement. By that point we were so fed up of waiting and so hungry I didn’t have the energy to tell them the pizzas weren’t hot, I had no desire to wait for others to be made. I saw two sets of people come in and leave as they gave up waiting even for their order to be taken, and I know we weren’t the only ones asking about how long food was taking. Zizzi need to look at the systems and /or staffing they have in place. They are right next to a cinema but there is no way I would recommend anyone went for a pre-movie pizza there - you would either miss the film or have to take your food with you. We won’t be back, we will go to Pizza Express.

This restaurant was ideal for us, we had builders in at home and just wanted a nice pleasant meal in a comfy atmosphere, we picked the right place. The food was good, the staff were friendly and the restaurant was comfortable and welcoming. Our first visit but will not be our last.

Awful place. Table booked for 6.30 and by 7.30 we left because we hadn’t even had our starter. So understaffed and slow. Don’t go there if you are hungry because you’ll wait forever. Only 2 cooks and a couple of servers. They need to look at putting more staff on. Won’t be going back again

On this visit the service was a bit like a yo-yo (however not the Sushi next door). After a short hiatus at the “wait here to be served” (at least there is one), a table was offered. Loads of pizza’s and pasta’s on the menu, which tend not to be my cup of tea, with the exception of exceptionally pizza’s Decided on the pork belly, which was not bad at all, only draw back was that it was rather small and seemingly had to be drowned out by a shed load of potatoes, assumingly to fill the void remaing after consuming the pork belly sample. Unfortunately, after ordering the dish, and a wine to go with, with a bit of effort on getting someone flagged for the wine, I must have gone invisible. It was virtually impossible to draw a waiters attention, eventually managed to flag down the original waitress that was leaving the shift, and who was kind enough to grab another waiter by the ear. Pitty I could not leave her the tip that was subtly encouraged when it came to settling the bill. Following impressions out of 5, where 5 is the highest: - Service, 3 - Food, 3 - Price, 3 - Drinks prices, 3.5

So we decided to go to this restaurant for a date night. We pre-booked a time of 7pm. Arrived at the restaurant and host was super friendly and got us a table quickly. Restaurant was fairly busy. After viewing the menu for around 10 minutes a server came and took at drinks order. We ordered food but the wait was not really good. We must have waited at least over 30 minutes for food, which wouldn’t have been so bad if we were told. It seemed very slow in getting the food out to us.

We chanced our luck this evening having been bowling for my birthday. Astley greeted us, obviously very busy, but efficiently so, she asked if we’d booked, we said we hadn’t, she advised there’d be a delay while they cleared tables. We decided to wait, I’m so glad we did. Efficient friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, which is always appreciated with younger children. The food was fantastic, huge portions. We had three courses and drinks. The online ordering was very handy. The atmosphere was lovely, we weren’t rushed. The loveliest thing though was the staff. Seems to have been a lot of negative reviews lately but our experience on a Saturday night was second to none. Thank you Astley, my birthday meal was one to remember for all the right reasons. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went in there this evening but was made to wait longer than we expected. We were told that they were short staffed due to other staffs were sent home due to illness and it left the manager and young girl to serve the whole restaurant. Think the manager was being professional with her role and she kept on apologising and made us welcome but tbh it wasn’t her fault and I do understand her positions. When the food reached our table, the food was quite nice. Good manager.

Entered and was waiting for 5 minutes to be seated. A woman came over and said she can't seat us yet as people are asking for bills... Another woman came over and said sorry it will be a 30 minute wait as they were expecting a big party that hadn't arrived yet. The restaurant was quite empty and it was a Wednesday night.... We left it and went somewhere else. They missed out on our custom and we would never attempt to back there.

I had a lovely evening here! We were treated by a lovely girl who quickly got us sat and took a drinks order. The drinks arrived promptly. We then ordered our food. The chicken skewer was delicious. The mains then came and the pastas were all steaming hot and the offer of fresh Parmesan grated at the table what a sight. We had no room for dessert but I have to say the two girls working made a point to talk to every table and laugh and joke with them. Don’t believe all the reviews about this restaurant as we had a brilliant time

The food was nice but I’m sorry bruschetta is on toasted or grilled bread. You cannot call it bruschetta on the menus and serve a small, soft pizza base, its just not fitting the description of the meal

Arrived at this restaurant 17.15 for my Grandaughter s 9th birthday 6 adults 5 children.We we’re told there was 3 parties in all at the same time so there may be a short delay.Why would you book 3 parties in at the same time if you can’t serve people properly.My daughter made the booking 6 Weeks ago.We waited 20 mins for drinks to arrive no food order taken another 15 mins for food order.Then 30 minutes before kids food arrived.Our food came another 20mins later we’ll two portions did then another 10 minutes one came another 10 minutes two came and the last to come out a spaghetti Bolognaise which looked disgusting.Never had such bad service and no apology.Im so annoyed my daughter paid for this awful experience.They should have taken at least the drinks off the bill.Livid.

Mother in law described it as the worst meal she’d had in 76 years for me it was only the worst meal in 65 years!! 10 of us endured this experience….starters of Calamari was “enjoyed”…not by me and Mother in Law, absolutely disgusting, like a giant ball of sloppy mucus in wet batter! Main course for me belly pork, OMG this was even worse a 2 inch circle of fat accompanied with two “brick blocks” of rock hard crackling…the only thing cracking was my teeth..,good job dentist appointment in October! This was served with a 100 square pieces of potatoe and 3 pieces of some sort of frozen veg. Absolutely disgusting mostly all wasted. MIL ordered Lasagne..told to watch the hot plate..probably out of the microwave served with NOTHING…no garlic bread or salad. She ate 2 mouthfuls and yet another wasted meal. I could analyse all night and must add that I eat all food put in front of me, even average stuff but this was on another level for poor quality. To add insult to injury I had the S@@@s the next day when in work and was very close to an accident!! Wouldn’t go anywhere near this place ever again!

We went here for dinner on 22nd September, it was my sons 11th birthday. For his birthday he wanted to go bowling and out for food. He looked at the menus for the restaurants along the row near )! and chose Zizzi. We turned up and ordered drink and food within minutes. But then waited an hour for our food. They left my birthday boy, his 10 year old friend and my 13 year old waiting for food for over an hour. It was only pizzas we ordered too! The restaurant was only half full if that, so I can’t even see what the issue was. The waitress serving us did come over and apologise and gave us a round of free drinks. But then when our food came the dips that we’d ordered were missing. A minor thing but I had to get up out of my seat and walk over to someone to ask. I’d put on my booking that it was my sons birthday, it wasn’t even mentioned. Now I don’t necessarily expect them to make a fuss of him and go out of their way to make it special, but it would have been nice for them to at least have not left him holding his stomach because he was so hungry and watching everyone around us getting their food but not us. No one should have to wait that long for food in a place like this, but hungry kids waiting over an hour until 8pm for their food on their birthday? When we paid the bill, without the desserts that the kids had spied on the menu because we were not hanging around any longer, the waitress didn’t apologise again, it was like the free drinks had rectified the situation. Well they didn’t, we certainly won’t be going back. £92 for a round of drinks, 5 pizzas and some dips and a very bad experience. Such a shame as we’ve been to Zizzis elsewhere that are great.

17:15 arrived 17:30 ordered drinks and food 18:00 garlic bread arrived 18:20 was told no seabase reordered lasagna 18:45 still no food 18:50 my lasagna arrived and husbands pork belly, mine was ok his looked vile, food definitely Not Value for money. Waitress was apologetic and refunded our full bill. Definitely won’t be coming here again. One waitress One waiter and a young lad behind the bar. All they were doing where turning people away as very understaffed. Could do with Gordon Ramsey sorting the place out.

Gone down hill fast. Understaffed, main served before starters finished, food cold & poor quality (frozen?), cold temperature in the restaurant. Feels really bare and empty now. It’s a shame as Zizzi’s was a nice place to go until around 18 months ago.

Visited Zizzi, Speke for the 1st time tonight. We made it clear to Hannah, who met us at the entrance, that we had Tesco Reward Vouchers and wanted to use them for the meal. We each had a 3 course meal costing £23.95 and a drink. Total cost £58.40. We asked for the bill and presented the Tesco vouchers. Then another staff member came to us and said the vouchers could not be used for the 3 course menu! If this was the case why weren’t we informed by Hannah on arrival at Zizzi that vouchers could not be used with the 3 course menu or failing that when we ordered from the 3 course menu? I checked the menu and it did not indicate that vouchers were not accepted. Overall a very disappointing experience at Zizzi, Speke, Liverpool.
