Zer Cafe Restaurant in Haringey

It was a great place for Turkish food but now is closed. I had lentils soup and aubergine that was just delicious... wondering what are the Zer's team doing?

Hemos comido aquí muchas veces y nunca decepciona.

Teníamos un almuerzo tarde en la tarde de un fin de semana, y aunque yo no estaba impresionado por la comida, que era más que una buena relación calidad-precio comestible y una fantástica oferta con el menú fijo para el almuerzo. Volvería ya que realmente creo que agacharte final tiene opciones muy limitadas es uno de los pocos puesto que no parece muy apetecible.

El restaurante es pequeño y modesto pero una excelente relación calidad-precio y la comida, cocina tradicional turca, es muy bueno. Meze son generosas, siempre hay pan en la mesa, y hemos estado dos veces recientemente y encontramos los platos y extras de pescado muy bueno. No hay una selección fabulosa de vino (la mayoría es turco, que no es para todos los gustos, pero hay un par de los franceses. Encontrará el servicio es tranquilo pero amable - esta señora también ha organizado, por correo electrónico, 3 botellas de hielo de Prosecco frío que se entregan en una mesa para una fiesta de cumpleaños que no podía hacer, e incluso me envió fotografías de las botellas. Buena gente que merecen su éxito. Si buscas un lugar una buena relación calidad-precio y sin pretensiones, ir!

Have used this restaurant on a daily basis for two years,best coffee in crouch end and good bacon sarnies,have eaten there chicken wraps,meatballs,pannini's,chicken kebab's and a soup to die for,always plenty to eat nothing is to much trouble for the very polite and capable staff long may it continue

Si te gustan los desayunos un poco diferente, este es el lugar para ti. Tiene buenas ups tradicionales frituras pero es turco desayunos inspirados con espinacas haloumi champiñones, etc. son geniales. También tienen una muy buena relación calidad-precio almuerzo de dos platos con mucha variedad.

Nos topamos con ellas con *************** por casualidad mientras buscábamos algo barato en extremo agacharte. 10 por una comida de 2 platos turcos? ¿Por qué no!

Zer restaurant is a place I use a lot sometimes up to 3 times a week pretty much every week for the last year . The food is great but the lamb casserole is the best ..

there is : food, internet , coat hanger , clean toilets my rate is 5/10

This is a real find. It is not trying hard to be trendy like a lot of restaurants nearby and is all the better for it. The food is tasty and fresh and the staff welcoming and polite. I had passed it a few times but the breakfast menu made me wary that it may not be a proper evening restaurant. I'm glad I tried it and will be back again. If you like good Turkish food don't miss it

I was here with my mother at around 9 o'clock on a sunday night. The service was impeccable. I had the chicken shish kebab, which was delicious. The atmosphere is perfect; great lighting and very quiet. The restaurant was generally very cosy.

My daughter and I stumbled upon this wonderful little restaurant late one rainy Sunday evening. It is just the kind of restaurant I am always looking for -- quiet atmosphere, cozy lighting, great food, gentle service. A nice house wine to boot!

We plumped for the set menu, selecting a start each to share and both had the Chicken Shish for mains. A word of warning, the houmous was lovely, however appeared not to be homemade and was served unceremoniously in a pile on a plate with no pita bread. The chicken was a little over cooked and the rice lacked flavour. The presentation showed they some ideas of making things look good, however it looked a little silly on the plate.My friend ordered a diet coke, she watched the waitress open a can, pour some into a glass, bring it over, then her colleague drank the rest, so we asked for the rest of the can please (as we were paying for it), they seemed surprised, had to open a second can, fill a glass and then bring her what was left in that one!! Getting anyones attention was a challenge except when it came to us paying, they tried to take it before we had placed all the money down.I will most likely not be returning anytime soon.

We had such a lovely meal at the Zer cafe on Monday that we went back the following night. Although not a specifically vegetarian restaurant we found the choice excellent and my wife and I had different dishes each night and there were still others to try. The food was excellent and the service charming and friendly and just right. It's very rare to find exactly what you want in a new place far from home, we shall definitely revisit when we are back in the Crouch End area in the future.

In a part of North London not short of a coffee shop or 10, I was tempted by the "Turkish twist" of Zer Cafe. The waitress was bright and efficient. The coffee was fresh and my Halloumi cheese, spinach and poached egg on toast was delicious (and I am no veggie). I hope they get good trade in a very competitive area.

Terrific local restaurant with a Turkish flair serving well made and tasty dishes.Excellent service and attention to customers. Prices are very reasonable and made from fresh ingredients with attention to good taste and presentation

These fairly new owners have made this small restaurant even better. The staff are very friendly and helpful in their Turkish style we have come to expect. The menu is extremely varied and caters for all tastes - not to mention a free birthday cake!

Zer Cafe serves fresh, delicious food with lots of thoughtful options for vegetarians. Their breakfasts are huge, and range from traditional Turkish (delicious olives, jam, bread, cucumber, tomato and probably other things that I cannot remember) to vegetarian (try the one with grilled halloumi and gently cooked spinach on toast) and traditional English. They also do freshly squeezed juices. One of their breakfasts will probably keep you going until the evening. The portions at lunch and dinner are also generous. At lunch, you can opt for Turkish or Mediterranean food, or soup or sandwiches. For dinner, you may want to consider sharing a few plates, or go when you are really famished. We had several meals there (we discovered it on our own and then friends suggested meeting there), and everything we had was carefully prepared and tasty. And don't miss their extremely fresh baklava.The staff and owners are very kind, and great with children; the waiter brought a picture-book out for a two-year-old who was with us, and then gave her a small dish of ice cream.Zer Cafe is a great place to spend a relaxing evening, enjoying good food and wine, or you can start the day with one of their enormous breakfasts.

The staff at this traditional Turkish restaurant are friendly, the service is fast and efficient and the food - though not particularly adventurous - is tasty, well presented and affordable. Portions are generous and children are welcome.

Living locally, my wife and I not only use the very wide selection of cafes and restaurants available in the area for evening but also for breakfast and lunch, Zer, on the site of two previous eating establishments has quite recently opened in its current incarnation, provides all three with a friendly welcome, a nice atmosphere and very, very, good food at reasonable prices. Unreservedly recommended for any time of day!

Loved the attention to detail, the welcome, and the food. A favourite spot :)., and a nice calm atmosphere. Tbe home-nade Moussaka is an absolute treat !

I have been to Zer for brekfast quite a few times and have aleays loved their breakfast. We decided to have a meal together as a group of 8 people last night. The meal was excellent. Would definitely suggest ordering a few of the tasty starters. I had the prawn for the main course and it was mind blowing... Everybody in our party was very happy with the food. But most importantly it such a nice atmosphere, the whole restaurant and all customers were acting like friends at the end of the evening. We were even singing together with other tables and everybody seemed to have a great evening. Well done and keep it up! I will definitely be back.

Have been here a few times for breakfast and they are amazing! Full English for just £8 and tastes brilliant. Great place to o dor a morning date or a hangover pick me up! Thoroughly recommend!

We have eaten twice in Zer since it opened a month or so ago and each time we found the food absolutely delicious. Fresh, varied, plenty of choice for vegetarians. The menu had an excellent choice of authentic turkish dishes as well as simple and delicious alternatives. The staff were impeccably attentive and efficient and there was a lovely warm and relaxed atmosphere. There are some lovely table nooks to sit in - one at the back which is particularly good for a family group (there are even toys and books provided!) We ate there as a couple and as a family and it was fantastic both times. And it was amazing value also. I hope this lovely family-run restaurant does really well - we have definitely found our favourite restaurant in Crouch End!

Please note that this nice café/restaurant now has a new identity since 1st January 2013, having previously been called the 'Piya' and then the 'Olive Tree'. The quality of food and service remains high under its new management, and I would continue to recommend it for a decent and relatively inexpensive breakfast, lunch or dinner with Turkish cuisine influences - lots of tasty choices to be had amid bright and cheerful décor.

the falafal, hummus and borek are all excellent and try the menemen (turkish scrambled eggs with tomatoes with sucuk - spicy sausage & cheese). the best place for breakfast in crouch end

This small café/restaurant in Crouch End is usually busy with customers who enjoy simple Turkish-style food, tasty and moderately priced. There is a good choice from the fixed price lunch or dinner menu, and a larger selection - albeit more expensive - from the á la carte list; and the quality of the freshly prepared dishes is equally high whichever side of the menu one orders from. The service is generally speedy, and the serving staff are polite, efficient and friendly, and all seemingly from Turkey itself. My favourite section of the café is the raised section at the back underneath a skylight, the walls covered with sepia photos of late-19th and early-20th century Crouch End, which pleasantly divert you as you await the arrival of your food. This is a quiet, comfortable and easy-going place which offers attractive unpretentious food at very affordable prices, and even displays a selection of current newspapers and magazines for the free use of the customers - a nice touch.
