It was pretty late in the afternoon, on a not too pleasant day, when I called in. I suspected that I might have been turned away. Closing early would not have been surprising on such a day. But I was made very welcome, and in fact, a piece after I arrived, 2 further parties also arrived and were served. This is a very clean and pleasant cafe. The menu is varied and stacked with healthy options. It's a large place, and maybe a bit difficult to engender an atmosphere in what is an old chapel, possibly Wesleyan. But the owners provide a very good offering, including, I believe, B&B. Despite the lateness, there was no attempt to hurry me on to leave, and I can recommend the cream teas. A place I would very much recommend.

We had been on a 6 mile hike, and had been subjected to some torrential rain and gusty winds! We felt we had earned a cream tea, and thought we would try the Zennor Chapel Cafe which was recommended to us. All I can say is that it is well worth a visit! Superb cream tea and delicious scones, as well as a very welcome pot of tea. Very relaxed surroundings added to the enjoyment. Definitely well worth a visit.

The food here was ok - very expensive really for what we had which were basically sandwiches and salad and scones. There was no extra hot water for the small pots of tea. It is for sale at the moment and I just got the feeling the people serving had lost heart but that could also be because it is near the end of a busy season. There were bookshelves with books on - I tried to buy one but they were for just reading in the cafe which I found a bit strange . Who can read a novel on one visit? The nice shop they had seemed to be gone - there were a few sundry items bunched in one corner. All in all a bit disappointing compared to previous visits.

A beautiful sunny afternoon in Zennor & we fancied a cream tea. We had two scones, lots of jam and cream and coffee for £6.50 cream each. It was divine, lovely and fresh & an absolute bargain. Came here for lunch with my aunt, uncle, partner and 3 of our kids. Food was excellent – we all opted for baguettes, all of which had generous fillings in soft fresh bread accompanied with crisps, salad, coleslaw and a pot of condiment (eg my Brie one came with an onion chutney, the ham one came with mustard etc). After which we just about managed to squeeze in some delicious ice-cream! Free parking outside, free wi-fi, seating inside and out. Friendly service

If you're in Zennor and in need of refreshment this is the place to stop and rest up. In fact, it's the only tearoom in Zennor to stop and rest up! It's set in a converted chapel and there is plenty parking, with a £1 honesty box, and seating both inside and out. There is quite an extensive menu of home-cooked foods but we always have the cream tea which is one of the best in Cornwall... and, believe me, we've sampled loads of them! The café is lovely and clean with comfortable seating, the toilets are clean and well stocked and the ladies loo even has an emergency supply of ladies necessary products for anyone caught unawares. The outside seating area and gardens are well kept. There used to be a little gift shop here too but this seems to have disappeared. The cafe also provides B&B; accommodation but we have never stayed here and I understand it is currently up for sale. If I had a spare £875,000 I'd buy it. What a beautiful spot to live and work in a very pretty Cornish village.

The excellence of the food and service almost goes without saying. However, the owner Tanya went above and beyond to help me when my partner failed to return from his walk to the Carracks at the appointed time. she drove me to the top of the hill (I currently have difficulty walking) to.try to obtain a mobile signal, and helped me to see if he was in the pub (he wasn't) She then devised a plan whereby she would drive to our accommodation in Carbis Bay to see if he had gone there by mistake.. Just as we were contacting the Emergency Services for the second time, he turned up,only three hours late but safe and sound. The walk had been much more rigorous than he had expected and therefore took much longer..Thank you Tanya, we will never forget your kindness

We were made to feel so welcome by all the staff and has such a “homely” feel to the place. As a vegetarian it’s so nice to be able to order something other that just a standard run of the mill cheese sandwich. My panini and soup was exquisite.

The Zennor Cafe is well placed in Zennor, adjacent to the car park and a grand destination after a vigorous walk to, say, Zennor Head. It has a good menu of light snacks including some unusual soups. We had a very good cream tea here last week: the portions were generous and the service cheerful. The scones in particular were outstanding. However, the overall effect was a touch marred by upturned chairs and the process of clearing up at the end of the day, although admittedly we cut it a bit fine turning up on this occasion 20 minutes before closing at 5pm. Nevertheless, definitely a destination to aim for if you are in the area.

As a self-confessed coffee snob I entered in trepidation. Obviously targeting tourists and with extremely unadventurous interior design (such a lovely building deserves more!) ... I wasn't expecting much from the coffee.I was more worried when told that the small latte cup is smaller than the flat white cup (they're confused about something!) ... I quizzed the young girl serving about which size cup had how many shots of espresso and decided to risk the flat white.First impressions take a while to wear off, but the by a third of the way through the cup I had to admit it was really good. Good crema and right milk texture. Very enjoyable!

Monday 13 June 16, After visiting St Senara's Church, my husband and I went to Zennor Chapel, which has now been turned into a guest house incorporating a gift shop and a very nice cafe. My husband and I had lunch here, we had a traditional Cornish ‘Homity’ pie (a tart made of potatoes, white vegetables and white onions, eggs and cheese) served with a side salad and washed down with tea for My husband and a latte for me. This was a lovely place to while away a peaceful hour or two.We then strolled down the lane to visit Trewey Watermill and Wayside Museum, sadly since I looked this up on the internet, the place had closed down. The family had retired and the locals did not raise enough money to keep it open – so a piece of history has been lost. The waterwheel was no longer there and goodness knows what happened to the treasures of the museum?

Breakfast was an optional extra but at just £5.00 each for scrambled egg, smoked salmon with a muffin and a glass of orange juice exceptional good value. My only complaint would be you could hear everything going on in the rooms next door and the noisy poo cruncher toilets who started before even flushing, felt like we were going to be sucked down the pan (literally !! ) and a mirror in the room is a must for all women !! Only stopped for a drink but the coffee was one of the nicest I've had and the hot chocolate was served with marshmallows at no extra cost. Friendly staff and reasonably priced

Zennor is beautiful and a quiet village full of old world charm. There is plenty of parking around the Cafe and nearby is a pub, a privately owned museum and a church that are all worth a visit. The Cafe has seating inside but for good weather the eating outside is to be recommended. Loads of benches in front of building and in gardens behind. The building itself is impressive and well maintained. Plenty of freshly baked cakes to choose from and lunch I had was very good, A Huntsman’s Salad with ham and a couple of different pates. Food order was quickly delivered, especially so as quite a lot of us descended on the place on a quiet October day.

Stopped in here for lunch and really enjoyed it. First of all, the staff was friendly and gave prompt, professional service. It has a bright lively atmosphere. We had the seafood chowder and ploughmans lunch and both were very good.

We had finished the long walk from St Ives and were really looking forward to visited this cafe ( such good reviews) The building is beautiful and in such an idealic setting. ... We were ravenous and saw by the outside tabbard that they still served food. The girl behind the counter just told us blankly that they had stopped serving food ( it was 15 30 ) I looked around and saw that people had just been served cold meals. She couldn't explain why , but I ordered a cream tea anyway. As I sat there I watched the young staff obviously more intent on clearing up early and getting the last chores done ASAP... Looking at their phones and visibly ' sighing' I just wondered if the manager of the cafe was aware of the cafe having a ' winding down , nearly closing ' feel at a time of day when there can be many walkers descending this lovely village ready to spend money on refreshments ? Disappointing .

Having been working at a nearby campsite, a cycle over the hills for the fish chowder was a highlight to look forward to. We didn't mind the high prices as it was a reward for our hard work. The soup has really gone downhill and at £6.00 a bowl it had to be good. The onions were hardly diced, some too big for the spoon and many were brown and rotten. The peppercorns weren't ground. I pointed out to the waitress that the soup was not good and she simply said she would pass on my comments. There was no response. My partner then went in and was told I had already complained. The response was rude. We are working locally next year on a large nearby campsite as wardens, and will be interacting with most campers over a period of 3 months in peak season. I will make sure that i recommend the nearby Tinners and will suggest campers do not use this cafe.

Very good for lunches after a coastal walk. Excellent ploughman's with ham hock terrine and the haddock chowder is lovely when it's on the menu. Specials change every day. Good home-made cakes. On sunny days you can sit in the garden.

We visited this cafe twice, at the start and end of a very strenuous coastal walk from Zennor. It served delicious coffees, gorgeous cakes which were most welcome. The toilets and cafe were clean and there was a lovely gift shop where I purchased a scarf. WE will use this cafe again when in this part of Cornwall.

By about 1.30pm I felt I could risk my first food of the day after a very heavy drinking session at the Mazey Day Celebrations in Penzance the previous day. I did not fancy anything at the over priced pub next door. At the Zennor Chapel Cafe all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They cooked me two fried eggs on dry toast ( which was not even on the menu ! ). You might think that it's only egg on toast but I've never had any better anywhere ! The interior is beautifully decorated very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The charge for my late breakfast was very fair too. What a brilliant place to visit.

As we were staying in Carbis Bay (and having already really enjoyed The Ugly Butterfly) we chose to visit Walter's as well. Booking by telephone was easy and I was impressed that the person taking our booking asked about dietary requirements. We were, however, less impressed when we arrived at the restaurant and the staff appeared both disinterested to see us AND confused by being asked what for a gluten free menu for my wife. It took several minutes for them to manually mark up a menu with a pen to indicate what was gluten free, something we would expect to be ready at a venue in this price range. The food itself was very nice, which is the rescuing factor for this review, but when we pay this sort of price for food we also expect a nice ambience and friendly welcome. This contrast is made especially clear by our having eaten at both adjacent restaurants during the same stay (Beach Club and Ugly Butterfly) where both the staff and the vibes could not have been more friendly, welcoming and fun. We would not choose to return to this restaurant with both these alternatives being only a matter of metres away.

We hired a beautiful field on the Cornish cliffs with the most spectacular views. So lucky to have found such a hidden gem for our perfect wedding venue. Absolutely wonderful owners and extremely helpful. Could not have had a better day! Thankyou so much for allowing us to use your stunning wedding field. It was one to remember! X
