Whether you want a conventional Chinese eat-in meal or takeaway then I can totally recommend that you make the 15 minutes trip out to Zenna in Pontesbury. I have been going there on and off for five years or more and have never had a meal I didn't enjoy. So I finally decided to leave a review! I live on the south of Shrewsbury and have tried a few around here. Those in town are OK-ish but it irks me that none seem to accept card payment, unlike Zenna. I find a cash-only payment policy to be inconvenient and highly suspicious. So, I strongly recommend that you boycott cash only restaurants and pop out to Zenna for a great meal in pleasant surroundings. The ribs in particular are luscious!

Visited on Saturday 9th March. What a lovely place. Food was probably the nicest Chinese I have tasted. Service and staff were lovely. Definitely coming back.

Went midweek. Very busy but nevertheless prompt service and good food. Will definitely be going back again. Would recommend without reservation.

Lovely food friendly staff, staff were under some pressure as it was a very busy Tuesday evening but generally dealt with everything well.

Absolutely superb! Tom and the team are attentive, professional, down to earth and chatty! The food was excellent. I had soup and the salt and pepper chicken wings, and then special fried rice and a sizzling chicken in green pepper and black bean sauce. Perfect food, the courses were timed well, but above all the service is top notch. If you're in the area na want top quality classic chinese food this is the place ❤️

What a lovely little hidden gem this was. Whilst a little dated in decor the food was absolutely beautiful, one of the best chineses we’ve had in a long time, lovely staff and service highly recommend!

Probably the best Chinese meal I’ve ever had. Fresh and tasty food, served hot just how it should be. Perfect size portions to fill you up and a great menu and choice of drinks. This was my first time here and the first time I’ve ever had or seen chicken in pear sauce. Great service and great value to boot

Took them 45 mins to deliver my food was cold staff was shouting i don’t know if it was at me I smelt cigarettes around me it was from the back I also found hair in my food and when I called them they were disrespectful

Called in as food had always been amazing. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Interior needed a good clean. Food was average, definitely not as good as it once was. My Sons food had king prawns which still contained the waste sacks, we brought this to the attention of the waiter, who was agreesive.

The food was superb the waitress was very friendly if you have desert I highly recommend the pineapple fritters with ice cream you cannot go wrong. We will be going again.

Recommend by our daughter who has previously visited & rated it highly as did we! We decided to opt for the set menu for 3 people & wow what a selection of starters & mains! Excellent service, tasty food & a vibrant atmosphere. Staff friendly & accommodating. The quantities were more than we could eat & so we opted to take some of our main course home, for which we were provided with a foil receptacle. Looking around we were not the only ones. If we are fortunate to visit again , we would choose individual starters & mains purely down to our respective appetites. We were only billed for one corkage although 3 of us were drinking alcohol.

Very good Chinese restaurant! Good Jasmin tea, good vegetarian choices on the menu. I did not know what bean curd was and it turned out to be 'tofu', but more fluffy than in the Netherlands. The vegetables were fresh and everything tasted delicious! Plus good and personal service!

What a find! Beautiful Chinese, would highly recommend. It’s a shame we’re only on holiday in this area as this would be amazing to have as our local. All the dishes were prepared with care, and the flavours were super tasty! We were worried about getting another take away with good reviews as the first take away we had from little efes in Minsterley didn’t live up to the hype. We will leave the menu at our air bnb so others can enjoy this place too! Thank you Zenna 😁

Having never been here before but always hearing great reviews for the place, it was decided we'd go. We went on a Friday evening having booked, we had the last vacant table when we arrived. Service was prompt and efficient, the food was delicious, absolutely no complaints. We will definitely return.

Our food was good but the main problem was the temperature .It’s a pity there was no heating as it was a cold night Service was good and the owner friendly

Tried for the first time today, they were very busy which is understandable so was happy to wait,l for the food. It was OK, but that's all, not bad but nothing to write home about. Just very average.

Although we had a takeaway, the restaurant was almost full, which is extremely well presented and the service was first class. The food after a 20 min drive was still hot and was excellent. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Very friendly staff, Clean. They we all very accommodating to our children. Timing between meals was great.The Price was extremely reasonable for the service and quality we received. We Highly recommend. It Was a late minute booking for my partners birthday. I couldn't think of anything they could of added extra to make our night any better. We Have had takeaways from hear a while ago but we are looking forward to us going in to eat gain soon.. We called at Zenna's on Tuesday for a family meal. Five adults and two toddlers and had excellent food and service. It was busy with customers in the restaurant and with take aways. Very welcoming hosts especially Tommy ! Would recommend Zenna's to anyone.

Overall really delicious food! I recommend the sweet and sour soup, salt and pepper chicken and ginger chicken. Only downfall was that the rice didn't taste the freshest.

Booked a table for 4 people at 7.30pm nothing appeared until 8.20pm starters arrived slowly. Main meals were brought over gradually, waited a long time for sweet and sour sauce. Suzan Prawns still had the digestive tract left inside. They offered to take it out and re serve it. We declined. This was taken off the bill. All in all a slow service, not to mention that the man serving lost his cool about the food being substandard.

We had a takeaway meal for two which was plenty of food for the two of us. A few days later we ate in the restaurant All meals were fresh, tasty and presented nicely. The restaurant is clean and smart and gives a good impression. Also, the staff are friendly helpful. This is a place to return to!

Outstanding food with a great choice of tasty, freshly prepared dishes combined with wonderful service. A place that any connaiseur of Chinese cuisine should visit at least once. By far the finest in the area.

The worst chinese food I've ever had. Crispy shredded beef made with brown sauce? Stale and dry singapore rice noodles? Horrendous crispy duck and the beef dish? There was literally nothing redeeming about this place - not even passable. We ordered for 4 people, it cost 81.00 and we threw everything in the bin except the prawn toast.

Been coming here for many years. Recently had works leaving party. Food tasty, hot and generous portions. I requested a particular dessert which wasn't on the menu and the friendly staff russelled one up for me! Delicious!

The food was awful. The chicken chow mein was dry and all noodles, I had to search to find a beansprout or onion, they were the only other ingredients plus a bit of chicken. The sweet and sour sauce was a pinky orange glup again with no vegetables, no onion, no peppers, no pineapple. The barbeque spare rib didn't come with any barbeque sauce. The only nice dish was the beef with peppers and black bean sauce. All in all not the birthday treat I was expecting and a complete waste of money. I do not recommend this place!

Foods is fantastic....the loss of 1 star is for a couple of reasons. The phone being taken off the hook when busy....and when given a collection time for takeaway I generally end up waiting far longer than the stated time. I'd rather be given a genuine time and not feel like I'm spoiling the experience for the people eating in the restaraunt by waiting around.

This Restaurant is a little Gem. Had a meal there with the family,the food is the best we have ever had ,and we have been to many Chinese restaurants over the years all over the place. The food is delicious, fresh and piping hot. My wife is a Coeliac and its really unusual for a Chinese restaurant to accommodate us ,but Zennas has gluten free sorted . The service was excellent, nothing was a trouble . A lovly atmosphere. Thank you to Tom and his team. We will be back.

Quality restaurant and takeaway food. Dined here with my two yong sons, who loved trying the variety of starters and delicious roast duck!...our mains were great.. Chicken chow main.. Minus onions and beansprouts.. Cue fussy sons ordering requests. Chicken balls and Thai green curry and very tasty BBQ ribs! All the food was excellent and my boys enjoyed having a go with the chopsticks. Owner's and staff were so friendly and welcoming. Great food, highly recommended.

This is a cracking little Chinese, the staff are welcoming and friendly and the food is very very good. Even when the place is full the service is still quick and the food comes out piping hot and delicious. Would definitely recommend.
