Zeera in Powys

Stopped in Llandrindod Wells for one night and fancied a curry after having some not so good meals down on the south coast. The restaurant was pleasant, the waiters attentive and an extensive menu. Ordered poppadom’s with a chutney tray which I must say was beautiful with a very unique coconut chutney. Starter was a special platter for two which again hit the mark. Chicken Jafrani and chicken chilli masala for mains which were superb bar for one gripe, the chicken breast in the jafrani was very overcooked and dry. The sauces though were amazing. The bill came and I checked it and it came up-to £61…but on the bill it stated £67…, I questioned it and received a quite surly answer that it was £67 hence the 🤔. A takeaway customer questioned his bill and was adamant that they had overcharged him which they backed down to and reduced it.

An amazing food experience every time, whether that's in the restaurant or take away/delivery via Munchala. Have never had a bad experience here

Lovely food, great service. Found this place on a walk out and the reviews online were good so we had to try it out. It didn't disappoint.

Nice little Indian restaurant, the food was nice and the staff were friendly enough, a bit slow at times but they did have some large groups dining so it was to be expected, would have been a 5 star but the staff forgot about our booking and gave our table to someone else who came in after us who had no reservation.

Amazing food and staff popped in on a busy Saturday the food was flying out off the kitchen and all the plates we’re returning totally empty Credit to the chefs great value for money as I live close to Edinburgh and it’s way cheaper than the restaurants and also in other town and cities I’ve visited

Friendly,attentive staff serving excellent, tasty food from an extensive menu. They were very accommodating when our elderly friend asked for a starter as a main due to her lack of appetite. Will be visiting again when next in Llandrindod.

Was passing through llandrindod wells last week with my family and we fancied food outside of the hotel. Tried our luck with Zeera and it really paid off. We were served by Javi (spelling sorry) who was so good with our daughter (5) and son (1). Very friendly and chatty with us and the kids alike. The food was also lovely and fresh, all served in good time early on in the evening. We came in pretty much as soon as they opened, by the time we were leaving at around 6:45 the place was filling up. I doubt I'll be pass through Llandridod again...but I do I'd definitely be back.

We have been many times and it is always a good, pleasant and friendly experience. The food is always good and we are still finding new vegetarian options to try.... Friday night was lively and very popular, and weekday evenings quite. The perfect place for us and we highly recommend the food and service and friendliness.

Excellent meal cooked fresh and very tasty. Often I find that some items on the menu are generic and bland but the food we had here was excellent. The Naans were freshly cooked and the popadoms were crunchy and not the stale soft stuff often served. The meats were all cooked well (I had Lamb) and the service was excellent. Tables and restaurant was clean and roomy.

A shame as we have had good meals from there in the past. Got the feeling they had recooked leftovers. Never again.

Service was fabulous, attentive, friendly staff,set menu a really good offer, all course's we're of a good size,fresh food and really tasty.

Great tasty food and lovely staff. We walked past this restaurant twice as it didn't look appealing from the outside, however, we ventured in and so glad we did. The staff were very freindly and the food was very good. We had lamb in a mango and mint sauce(the lamb was so soft it feel off my folk), honey and garlic nan bread , sweetcorn rice , veggie segwala and spice poppadoms. All the food was to die for. We had complimentary Bailey and mint chocolates which was a lovely end to our meal.

Ordered a takeaway for 10 people. I do like Indian food, however, my local family, seem to think a good Indian includes more chips than rice. They also don’t order anything which is traditional Indian, such as vindaloo, hot curries, they go for a mild butter chicken and garlic and cheese nan, revolting. I have to push then to try vegetable samosa’s, chicken tikka, and tandoori chicken. They bypass such dishes, no problem more for me. Overall the takeaway was ok, it’s not the restaurant fault that my local family have chips and more chips. A true Indian restaurant should not be offering chips.

Having recently moved from West Midlands to the area, we have been to a few 100 curry houses over the past 40+ years, living so close to the Balti Quarter. Had our first takeaway tonight and it was literally perfection in a plastic tub!!!!! Chicken Phal & Chicken Achari, both cooked to perfection, the chicken was so tender it melted in your mouth and the curry flavours themselves were amazing. We WILL be back, thank you 🤗

Fantastic warm welcome with excellent menu and amazing food. I’ve eaten at over a thousand restaurants and trust me I know a good curry and know what to expect. Popped in here with my Sister and took away, I cannot recommend this place enough! Excellent food 10/10. Thank you, we shall return on a regular basis.

Food ok, certainly not rich in taste and vibrant in aromas as you would expect with Indian cuisine . Supplied food we didn’t order, told it would be a freebie but made to pay for it. Also overcharged us on the bill then proceeded to get incredibly rude about us splitting the bill. Saying we should have told them we were going to split the bill even tho they were aware we were a group of individuals eating together. Quite confrontational and made us feel uncomfortable and an inconvenience.. despite spending nearly £150. Will not go back there. There’s a nice place in Rhayader which we’d recommend.

Last went to this restaurant more than four years ago, and wasn't very impressed. Was taken there again recently and the food seems completely different. Much, much better.A good selection of dishes, with the waiter recommending an off-menu dish he thought I might like to try (I did, and it was delicious). Very friendly service. And - a simple touch but so important - the dips that came with the popadoms were brilliant. Good naan bread too.

I have to say I didn't recognise the place as being the same one as in the poor reviews. Visited with a party of 8 and the staff were friendly, food was good standard Indian restaurant food and the place seemed clean enough. We had to wait a bit for our food but it was Friday evening and it was quite busy. I have been to far far worse Indian restaurants!

We stayed in Llandrindod Wells on Saturday night, having booked a table at Zeera a few days before. Arrived at the time we had booked to be told they had no tables free. No apologies, they really couldn’t give a damn. Just kept repeating “the table over there booked a week ago”. No explanation as to why they accepted our booking but would not honour it. Appalling attitude and no concept of customer service. One to avoid.

My gf & I went to Zeera, which is an Indian restaurant in Llandrindod Wells.I can honestly say this was one of the nicest Indians that I have ever had.The starter was to die for and definitely the best sharing starter that both my gf & I have ever sampled.The platter was reasonably priced and the quality was tremendous. Hopefully the attached photo will do it justice.On the bad side there were just too many main courses.However on the very positive side what we both had were delicious.We will def be going back.Enjoy

Never had a bad dining experience here - always a good selection of meals - the East Indian lamb was lovely - daughter had veg tikka masala which she enjoyed . Staff are great and accommodating

After hard day in the saddle this was a perfect finish for the day. Good friendly service, fair price and good sized portion of the best tasting chicken tikka Parthia I have ever had.

We got a take away from here as we were staying in a local village. The food was delicious and reasonable priced. I would have given more however it took 45 mins to cook which for a takeaway is a long time especially as there was only one table in the restaurant however I do appreciate that if it’s cooked from fresh so may have taken time.

Lovely restaurant. Staff were good the food was great. Some meals I have not seen before. They still have the usual Indian choices if that’s what you want. But there were some lovely unusual menu choices as well. We all 8 of us enjoyed our meal very much.

Staying in a local campsite, we ordered a takeaway at the restaurant. It did not disappoint - everything ordered was delicious and the guy who served us was really friendly and helpful. We will definitely return, hopefully to eat a meal in the restaurant

Went for pre new year dinner , the food was fabulous, all hot and tasty, ideal size portions with the best poppadums! We are lucky to have them in the town as there are not too much choice available for evening meals

Run for the hills this place is shocking, and such bad attitude, charged for an excuse of a lamb biryani that was so so poor no spices, chilli and rice was pre cooked and guff and inedible, soggy onion baji, samosa from farm foods or similar, tastless soulless rubbish.

On a mission to find a curry locally having just bought a place west of Builth. Was reliably informed (in the hardware store in Buith High Street) that there was no curry to be had in Builth but to try "Llandod". Went to the Llanyrch Arms in Llandod and was directed to Zeera - and it did not disappoint.

I feel like a fraud writing about and Indian Restaurant as the only thing I enjoy is chicken korma.

We’ve had a couple of takeaways from Zeera’s. Each takeaway has been very good, the food tastes fresh and delicious. We will definitely be a continuing customer.

Decent curry and good size portions but a word of warning to those of a nervous disposition. I had a chicken vindaloo which more than satisfied my cravings for the heat of the chilli. So much so that my first stop next morning was Tesco's to buy some Preparation H wet wipes to alleviate the agony. I would definitely call again, but might avoid the vindaloo next time.

I went in early evening and it was empty lacking atmosphere and was cold. So not a good start. Probably busier times would improve this. Menu choice was extensive unfortunately some of the food was prepared from fozen(starter)the main course a fish dish was ok but lacked in depth of flavor. Service too was ok but because ie was quiet a little overwhelming with dishes coming too early

The Food was OK , the service was OK, until a large group came in. The ambiance was a little lacking and the place looks run down. Unfortunately, the day after we both had upset stomachs and won't be returning.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were given a complimentary bhaji. Food is amazing, never tasted such a lovely Korma. Shame we can only come on our holiday.

Staying in the town, we visited the restaurant by chance. Great choice, as the food was very nice. They obviously use top priced spices, as it was a taste sensation! Different to your box standard curry house.

Have just had a meal here, so glad we chose the restaurant! The food was fresh and very tasty, the waiter was very attentive. We had asked for a brandy to finish off our meal and they were genuinely apologetic that they had run out and offered complimentary drinks. Although this wasnt necessary the offer was appreciated but not taken. If you are looking for dining options, in a town where the options are limited, you won't go wrong by taking a gamble on a good meal at Zeera

It's ok. Good piping hot food. Service was ok, cash only!! Somewhat inconvenient. Very sweet main course but I suppose that's because I did not read the menu description. However the keema Nan was lacking in keema!! Not sure I would go back

Good food, presented by friendly and attentive staff. Odd wall lights of gold stars give it the Christmas feel all year round. (didn't see any wise men though, especially not in my group).

This place was amazing i just wish they had a better online presence so we could have viewed the menu ahead of time.

Had a wonderful dinner here with my partner. Everything was lovely with a lovely king prawn pasanda and chicken tikka dhansak taking centre stage. Accompanied by a nice bottle of Prosecco and a wonderful complimentary starter. Amazing poppadoms too! Will be back soon!

On my own as travelling on business, so midweek, Went quite early at 7pm and they were hesitant when I asked for a table for one, so wish and should have turned round there and then and gone elsewhere. Was given a table for 6! Service was Ok from there on in and food alright (I eat Indian 2 or 3 times a week and have had better.)

Was tired, and hungry and alone, whilst staying in Llandrindod with work so popped in for a curry.

The menu at Zeera has quite a few items not found on other menus such as a number of duck dishes and some interesting curries from South India.

Food was excellent with very friendly staff, highly recommended. Although we were quite late having watched a show we were welcomed with a smile. Extensive menu which may take a bit of time to understand but we were not disappointed which our choice. Thank you.

Hadn’t planned to eat out and so late (10pm) but we were welcomed in and given excellent service. Our meal was super tasty and hot and could not be faulted in any way. Will definitely go back next time we are in the area!

We were staying fairly local to Zeera and decided to drive in and order an takeaway to take back it us. I spent a while searching the internet for an online menu but really struggled! I decided to ring them and they advised they don’t have a menu online. We did find this frustrating as we couldn’t order in advance and had to wait in the restaurant for 30mins.

Overnight stay for a meeting. Delegates went to this restaurant. Great, tasty food. Staff very polite and attentive. Good value for money. Would definitely re visit. Right in centre of the town

Delicious food. I have eaten in many Indian restaurants and tried many different dishes but this meal was something else. Distinct, delicious flavours, very tasty. Fantastic service, lovely atmosphere and great wine!

A very generous meal which left no room for any more!! Very well prepared and presented by attentive and interested staff. Altogether a fantastic experience which I hope to repeat. The menu is extensive so there ought to be something to suit every taste.

Family meal as was in the area visiting family.children loved their tikka masalas. The spicier curries are good too.no69 on menu i highly recommend! Meat tender and sauces flavourful.nan breads are hot and fluffy and the waiter a romanian guy was brilliant so attentive to my demanding 5 year old boy he couldnt do enough for us. Love this restaurant shame we live 4.5 hours away in kent or i would visit more regularly

myself and my wife have visited zeera twice in the last month, once for takeaway and once for a meal and both times we have had no complaints. Lovely meal and Lovely staff. Only fault would be the tables are very cramped. Would not stop us visiting again

Had a bad meal for two here. I do not think it was cooked on the premises but heated up as there are no kitchen sounds or smells.

The restaurant is larger than it seems from outside as it goes back quite a long way but the tables are nicely spaced out so you dont feel too close to other tables.

Booked for a party of 11 people. We were seated next to 4 very drunk men who were loud and continuously swore without being asked to stop by staff. After almost 2 hours we had to finally ask for our food. It was very nice but 10pm is far too late to eat. Wouldn’t rush back !

Lovely restaurant very clean and tidy and always a really nice welcome from the staff ,they are very friendly and always make time to see that we are all enjoying our meals we called here on sunday 26th nov there were 4 of us we had beers and wines ,poppadoms naan breads ,rice and 2 butter chickens ,and 2 chicken jalfrezi ,the food was so nice very hot and flavorsome and our bill was just over £80 great value for the amount of food you get ,my partner and i live40 miles away so only get here when visiting family in the area but this is our no.1 choice always ,the restaurant was very busy even though it was a sunday we arrived very early on without booking so we found the restaurant quiet but it didn't stay quiet for long so like others if you plan to visit Zeera's after 6.30 pm you may want to book in advance

Excellent quality food with lovely staff to help with any queries about a particular dish on the menu. If you have a special request, they are always only too happy to pass it onto the chef. We have been going there for many years and at the moment the food is of the highest standard!!

Stranger in a strange town but a warm welcome here. Lovely service. I had the chicken podina, amazing.... my only complaint is I am so full I do not think I can move... ;-) seriously loved it.

It is advisable to book if last night is anything to go by. Service was a little slow but they were two staff down. To be very picky they could have told us that a little sooner but it didn’t spoil the evening or the meal. The shish kebab starter was to die for and the main meal was first class.
