Attentive service with a delicious selection of meals and treats! The portions were good also. The only thing I would mention is to use more meaty lamb for the karahi dish otherwise you could not fault the presentation or taste. Thank you 😊

I can’t comment on the food, but I booked a table for 7 a few days in advance. The restaurant accepted the reservation despite being booked out for an event by a large group. Felt very awkward walking in to the restaurant as we got a few stares (all other diners were part of the event). Waitress then came to meet us after a few minutes of waiting by the door. She directed us to a table and asked all 7 of us to sit on the sofa side, no chairs on other side of the table. Reluctant but I gave the restaurant a chance however when trying to order the food, a lot of it was not in stock? Walked out and visited a different establishment. Why would you accept the reservation in these circumstances, feels very greedy on the restaurants part

We booked the back room for an engagement. We found management very helpful and very accommodating. The price overall was great and food tasted great. The only negative thing was the heating was not working and the room was very cold but have been told they are doing a refurb and will fix the heating. I would recommend to anyone who wants to book for a small party.

We went to Zamana earlier in the week. The food was tasty, we all really enjoyed it. A mixture of vegetarians and non. The service was very good, when we asked for anything, our request was met with a smile. The staff make you feel very welcome Give it a go

Our first visit to this fairly simple but very homely, modern and well decorated Pakistani street food restaurant was a very positive one with a couple of quibbles. First of all this restaurant is on a main road in a busy part of Ilford that presents a considerable parking challenge though it may be easier after 6.30pm. It may be quite tough in the day time although public transport is nearby. The first impressions of the restaurant were positive - clean - well lit and by 7pm the restaurant was almost completely full with pretty much all patrons being Asian and very much families including small children. More on this later. For a Pakistani restaurant there is a good selection of vegetarian dishes, which was very welcome as half our party was vegetarian. They were very happy with not just the selection but also the quality of the dishes. As a non-veg diner I would almost go on to say that the vegetarian dishes were better than the meat dishes, as odd as that might seem for a Pakistani restaurant. Among the starters, the paneer was excellent. In England the paneer is nowhere near the quality of what's available in South Asia - but this was quite excellent. We also ordered some chicken tikka but these were rather tough. There was exactly the opposite issue with the lamb sheesh kebabs, which had to be returned to the kitchen as they were undercooked. To their credit, Zamana replaced this with another plate and with their apologies. When it came to mains, we ordered bhindi, which was certainly one of the standouts - full of intense flavour and spice along with the paneer. We also ordered palak gosht, which was very tasty but perhaps could have done with a little more spice/chili. We also ordered tawa keema, which was good in that it did not have the amount of oil that this dish sometimes come with but on the other hand it was a little on the dry side. And again, perhaps it could have done with a little more spice/chili. It's a difficult trade-off. The portion sizes of the meat dishes were arguably more generous than the vegetarian dishes although there was quite a lot of price difference. We didn't try any of the house specialities and certainly a return visit would be worth taking in some of those although several of these such as the raan and the haleem are heavy. We also sampled the tandoori roti which came piping hot - they were flavourful and very reasonably priced. One disappointment was the desserts. We were very much looking forward to trying their rasmalai cake, which appears to be their speciality. But of the five desserts on their menu they could offer only one, which was the carrot halwa. That was very disappointing and the quality of the ice cream with it was not great either. A couple of quibbles. The most significant being the level of noise, which made it extremely hard to talk to one another. And clearly we weren't the only ones as another group of diners moved to what they obviously hoped was a quieter table. It's perhaps tough for the restaurant but a couple of tables with young children were making an incredible din that it really detracted from the enjoyment of the meal. This went on for about an hour. Clearly this is a family restaurant, which is great, but one would hope that families would at least try to control screaming kids. The second quibble was that at one point a couple of staff came out in aprons, wellies and rubber gloves to clean the tables. Not only did this add to the din given the clattering of plates but it wasn't a great look. Surely this could have been done by the waiting staff. To their credit the waiting staff were extremely friendly, polite and accommodating. There are small tweaks like this that would surely improve the restaurant a lot.

Food was not nice. It was waste of money. The staff was very slow. The food was good taste less.

I came to this place for a nikkah celebration. The atmosphere was pleasant. They provided a great service and were attentive to all requirements. The food was somewhat OK. Chicken dish was really good and I definitely recommend it. However, the lamb and daal dish were less flavourful. The seasoning and spices were just not there. The halwa and vanilla ice cream was delicious and I couldn't get enough. Overall, I was happy and would go back to try their other dishes.

I had a worst experience in a restaurant ever in my life. It was my friend birthday and we decided to go for dinner in Zamana. We have ordered Chicken Sajji and 1/2 kg lamb with Khoya gajjar halwa. Chicken Sajji wasn’t cooked properly, it was completely overcooked. Lamb curry which we ordered wasnt 1/2kg and gajjar halwa was disgusted. Complaint to owner who himself wasn’t hygiene, dirty and yellow teeth. When he was speaking he had spit flying out his mouth.

I am getting annoyed now that I CANNOT find a fault. Their food is different from everything else. Truth be told this is a Michelin starred restaurant

Today I had a one of the worst experience of visiting this place. I have ordered mixed grill, lamb biryani and lamb karahi and I was with my partner. First of all the portion was too small and in briyani it was only 2 pieces of meat in it. The only thing that we like is Gol gappay. To be honest the food was below the average and the prices are way too high. There are alot of food bloggers are doing paid promotion for them without being honest. Let me finish the whole experience in one sentence; It was pathetic.

My brother had his Walima here and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The staff were so kind and accommodating. The chaat was absolutely amazing.

Great service, went mid afternoon so was not busy you can park outside at that time with pay and display. Naans were too thin I thought, had to order extra. Butter chicken was nice. Mixed grill was ok - seekh kebabs could be tastier. The decor of the restaurant is nice. Staff are attentive. In terms of value for money overall I would say it’s on the pricier side. We enjoyed our time overall as we wanted a place with close parking and not busy (one other table of customers) - Saturday afternoon.

We celebrated a family dinner here today for 21 family members. We had a wonderful time thanks to the staff making us very welcome and looking after us. We did not have to wait long for the food which was fresh and hot. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed themselves. A special thank you to Tanya and Khushi who looked after us so well. Will definitely come back again and highly recommended Zamana to everyone.

Great service. First time there. Very attentive staff. We were the only customers at the time. Value for money could be better but it's around the same as other restaurent. Nice and clean lovely decor. Preferred it then saffron street as its more peaceful and better service. Would go again. Shame there wernt any desserts. Tea refills were good. Pani puri wasn't right as it had yoghurt and had same filling as our dahi chaat. Should be different. Curry was nice

We visited this restaurant on Sunday 3rd of November. The food we ordered was good. So far so good but few things I have to mention here, They added 10% service charge in the bill which is not mentioned in the menu and there webpage. Also I have a Gourmet membership and this restaurant is a member of that society which entitle me a 25% discount but they only offer 20%. That's fine I didn't mind but I really upset the 10% service charge, and also the tip goes to the owner not the staff. Which is not fair with the staff... So I request any future customers who is going to visit the restaurant please check about the service charge and don't give any tip, why restaurant owner getting the poor staff Tip. He is already getting the service charge. I will think about my future visit.

Zamana Restaurant continues to impress with its delicious food—truly a 10/10! The presentation is equally commendable, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and beautifully plated. I visited with my family, and everyone absolutely loved it. The samosa chaat and gol gappay are especially banging—packed with flavour and an absolute must-try. However, the service could use a bit of refinement, as our grill starter arrived after the mains. Despite this small setback, I always look forward to dining here, as the food quality and overall experience make it well worth the visit.

Had an amazing meal at Zamana! I tried the mixed grill, which included chicken malai tikka, lamb chops, and chicken harra, and every single item was absolutely delicious. The flavours were spot on, with each dish perfectly cooked and seasoned. The lamb chops were tender, the chicken malai tikka was creamy and flavorful, and the chicken harra had a nice spice to it. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic, well-prepared Pakistani cuisine!

I can’t believe that they did give us an old mango lassi it was disgusting 🤮 . we had a baby of 17 months they didn’t think about that the baby may have some and get sick!! After we said the mango lassi tasted weird they panicked they changed it and it was fine and they were coming to ask us and find excuses like ah sorry maybe because we didn’t add sugar oh also we used mango with skin! but actually the mango lassi was really bitter.

One of the best restaurants I have visited in East London. Not only is the food amazing but so is the service. The atmosphere is great with nice decor and a good choice of music. The food is delicious, my favourite being nihari, malai tikka boti, achari gosht, papri chaat and ras malai cake. The nihari is the best I have ever had. 10/10, would highly recommend if youre looking for authentic Pakistani food.

It’s overrated and food wasn’t good. Ordered chicken sajji: complete waste of money ( it was overcooked dry, without any flavour and smell in the chiken) Neheri was edible but defunct not fresh, Nans were soaking in ghee. Pina colada: not in pineapple advertised and tasted like tropical juice blended with ice. Never again…

This could be the best Lahori fish I've ever tried to date! I checked out @zamanarestaurant which has a full Pakistani menu but then do a banging Pina colada - I'm so glad I ordered this because not only was it quality, served in a pineapple like that, really refreshing. From the starters you cannot miss that Lahori fish. This is probably the nicest fried desi fish I've had. Quality. Mixed grill was a good sharer too. Another hit item was the Keema Naan which was authentic. This was just like the ones I've had in Pakistan and loved that authenticity. For mains they have a good selection of karahi's and we got the chicken karahi. Haleem was pretty decent and biryani was nice too. We went on a weekday and they were quite busy so best to check especially if you're going in a big group. Also love that there's a masjid less than a minute away 🙏🏽

I can’t believe how some peoplea are giving 5 start reviews - most likely inside job. Portion size for adults were so small, even my baby was still hungry after eating his lamb biryani. They need to close this shop down. waste of money. Very pricey for these small funny portions. Try Saffron street instead. better portions in saffron street which is right around the corner.

Order was not even delivered and when I called the restaurant they said they will contact the driver and call me back, they didn't. And when I tried to call them back, they put me on messaging service. Ridiculous.

Amazing samosa chaat and mixed grill

Yesterday, we went there for takeaway and in the food we found one insect , I don't know kind of insect that was, definitely the food is not freshly made ....terrible and the smell of oil used was awful.

Amazing food by far the best in London!

We used Zamana for a catering event at home and not easy to find super decent quality food that would cater for groups as low and was totally priced reasonable and super affordable. If you’re hosting a family event or any size gathering , highly recommend speaking to them about catering as the food tastes super nice and very delicious. Order was ready spot on time for collection and they helped transport it to the car. Great experience and will be using again after a previous restaurant said to me they don’t cater unless it’s 50 heads and Zamana were very flexible

Service bad restaurant tooo noisy at 1 point o thought it was a day centre for toddler’s

I booked a table for 1pm, me and my friend arrived, but the restaurant was not open at 1pm. We waited around, after 15 minutes we saw someone mopping up inside, but doors remain locked. We pushed on the door to get the persons attention, he did not bother to come to the door, despite being near the door. He was making some hand signals, but was not bothered whether we went or not. Very rude.

Absolutely fantastic food, every cut of meat was tender and cooked to perfection 10/10 service. Brother Shahid (owner) was hands on, serving and talking to all the customers, he was working very very hard to make sure everyone was happy. Great food great atmosphere do give it a try. Very bad experience no costumer service at all.we ordered samosa chat as a stater and repeated three times but they didn't gave even at end.Meat wasnt tender.Really disappointed

Starters: Satisfactory Mains: The chicken and keema dishes were extremely flavoursome. Drinks: I was a disappointed with the lychee mocktail. It was on the expensive side and had added sugar to an extremely sugary drink. Overall: Good service and good food. I would recommend getting curry and biriani.

Yesterday, we visited Zamana, a Pakistani cuisine restaurant, and had a delightful experience with a few exceptions. Starters: We began our meal with Channa Chaat and Masala Chips. Both were delicious and well-prepared, setting a positive tone for the evening. Grill Starters: We tried the Lamb Seekh Kebab and Lamb Tikka. Both dishes were flavorful and cooked to perfection, making them a highlight of the starter menu. House Specials: The Sikandri Lamb Shank was exceptional. Cooked to perfection, it was tender and rich in flavor, truly a standout dish. Curries: We ordered Keema Aloo and Butter Chicken. While the Keema Aloo was delicious and satisfying, the Butter Chicken was disappointing. It lacked the creaminess that one would expect from a good Butter Chicken and tasted more like a standard chicken curry. Biryani and Sides: The Lamb Biryani was underwhelming. We have had better Biryani elsewhere. However, the Garlic Naan and Pilau Rice were excellent, complementing the main dishes well. Kids Meal: The kids' meal was decent, serving its purpose without any particular highlights or complaints. Desserts: The dessert was the absolute highlight of our meal. The Gajar Ka Halwa was amazing—one of the best we have ever had. It was the perfect ending to our dining experience. Overall, Zamana offers a mixed experience. While some dishes were outstanding, others did not meet our expectations. However, the exceptional Gajar Ka Halwa and several other highlights make it worth a visit.

Enjoy my daughter’s 16th bday at Zamana. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to make it special for her.

Apart from the gol gape the rest of the food was not very nice, considering the price the food certainly needed to be better. I physically felt sick after I got home. I was really looking forward to the bun kebabs but I don't know what they served, you can't call it Pakistani street food if you can't make bun kebabs.

The food here is the best Pakistani food i have ever had in a restaurant. It’s like home made food. Really wanted to meet the chef to compliment his dishes. Tanya looked after us well. Such a lovely lady with excellent customer service skills. You must try this place out. The price is also reasonable.

Been here 3 times but this evening will be my last time im eating here. Food was not fresh and most likely 1 - 2 days old. Ordered there chef special meat and chicken currys and it was hard to tell which was which as they both had no taste and didn’t seem fresh. Toilet was smelly!

We booked a table for 5. We arrived later then our booking, but were greeted with a sile and seated swiftly. Nice choice of starters and mains. The pintails sounded nice but we didn’t try on this occasion. Food was nicely presented and tasted good. Mosque nearby if you happen to be visiting at Salah time! Staff mdr sure we received all that we had ordered, and even came to ask if everything was okay, and what we thought. We liked it, and will go back again…now it’s your turn 😊

Easily the best pakistani restaurant in the area. Firstly, the staff go above and beyond to make sure you receive the best possible service. We've been here a couple of times now, on this occasion we ordered a takeaway. There was a mix up with our order but the staff were quick to put it right. Hands down the best butter chicken and chast around. If you haven't been, definitely try this place out. Amazing value too at a time where other restaurants are charging extortionate prices for sub par food.

My new number 1 for a mixed grill. Quality and utterly delicious. Every item on here was top. The curries were superb. The meat juicy and tender. Lastly the naan was soft and fresh with a nice bit of crunch. To top it off you get a free refills of Karak chai after your first purchase The venue was well decorated not your typical venue, a must try

Horrible resturant don't ever visit there. Terrible customer service. Manager and waiters are aggressive and shameless. Manager argued when food was under cooked and didn’t value customers at all. We were there last night, it was fifteen of us. Food was served super late, waiters were ignoring us. Butter chicken was under cooked and chicken was raw. My other friends were served cold food, terrible unwashed salad. We came back hungry and disappointed. Refrain from going there.

This was our 1st time at Zamana. We were a bit disappointed almost in every category. The young lady taking the order and serving us was terrific. She tried her best to make sure everything was good. The starters were to a good standard. The masalla fish was very good, maybe slightly under fried, therefore making it a little on the soft side instead of being a crispy batter. The lamb chops were decent, too. Had they been a bit warmer, they would have been great. The mojitos were well made. The mango lassi a tad on the thick side. (Tasted nice, though) The Nehari, I am afraid, was a total letdown. InshahAllah will go back again because I am sure they deserve a second chance.

Food is mediocre and the service is atrocious.

We have been here about 20 times in the past 2 years, whether it be for a celebration, work do or an impulsive bite to eat. The quality of the food is second to none, one of the best Pakistani restaurants in the area. It has become our local and we always bring family and friends here to dine.

Naan size is Puri size and no salad or raita u have to buy it separately.ridiculous
