Fabulous food with immaculate service ad excellent value

The flat bread, salad and baklava were authentic and really tasty however the main was lacking attention-it was ok but nothing special. The service was slack but the dessert and mint tea was on the house so they made it up.

Excellent authentic food and ambiance

Food was great but service was not. Out table wasn't reserved, the food took ages to arrive and we had to get up and ask for everything, including cutlery when the food eventually came. Everything was very tasty, especially lemon and chicken tagine

Our Second time at this wonderful restaurant , we live in Wales and we discovered this gem on our last trip to Oxford ,it was a no brainer that on our return to Oxford we would book a table to enjoy the fantastic food again and they did not disappoint all the dishes tasted great so 5 stars and 10out of 10 for service , Great Food,Great Service and great Value !! This might be my favourite restaurant in Oxford. The food is delicious and very fresh. We usually share dishes from the mezze part of the menu – Baba ganoush, Tabouleh, Foul Modammas and Zahra being four we order regularly. The staff are great and the prices are very reasonable. Love it!

I had the best Arabic breakfast I’ve ever tasted in Oxford. The restaurant is impeccably clean and tidy, with an inviting aroma that enhances the experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the Fool Medames it’s an excellent choice. A clean restroom is always a positive sign, and this restaurant didn’t disappoint. To top it off, the Arabic sweets were absolutely delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience authentic Arabic cuisine or a delightful breakfast.

Ambiente encantador, personal increíble muy amable que tienen un vínculo encantador, así que un buen ambiente de trabajo. La comida era muy sabrosa, las porciones están en el lado más pequeño, habría sido bueno recibir ensalada con los platos. No me gustó el arroz, pero el cordero es magnífico. Ojalá tuviera este restaurante más cerca de casa. La limonada de menta no parecía muy atractiva, pero el sabor volvió a aparecer. ¡Muchachos bien!

The taste and quality of the food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the authentically warm welcome we received and the feeling of eating at a family restaurant which is part of a thriving community. For us as vegans and also for our meat eating friends, the range of options was wonderful. The houmous in particular surpassed any that I've tried before and the freshly baked flatbreads were delicious. The food did not disappoint our Turkish friend, which seems like a good seal of approval. Za'atar Bake is my new favourite restaurant and I'll be going back there again as soon as an opportunity arises!

Food was nice and so does the ambience.

Have been to this place twice now. The food is really amazing and the atmosphere is great as well but the only weak point is their service. I think the staff needs a better way of communicating with the kitchen, each other and the table. It can get busy and hectic but I did find the interaction between staff and customers bordering on rude at some points. I can't fault the food though.. it was really really good.

Food is ok, albeit the dishes are not quite as you will have experienced at other restaurants (eg the shawarma is more akin to a pizza). What really lets it down is the service, dishes are brought out sporadically. Today my son’s pizza did not arrive until after everyone had finished their dishes (I would have thought children’s meals would be prioritised). To top it off my son has just thrown up all the pizza which makes me think there was something wrong with the dish. Also if you want people to wait outside, I would recommend having some form of heater so people aren’t just stuck in the cold.

There was a bit of a misunderstanding about when the buffet was on after we booked a table but Muhammed and his team went out of their way to make our evening amazing. Fantastic food, fantastic service, I highly recommend this restaurant.

My new favourite restaurant in Oxford. My wife and I went twice in 3 days we loved it so much. I was in food heaven. Baba ganoush was luxurious, vine leaves that exploded with flavour, the lamb in the tagine i could cut with the edge of my fork it was so tender. The freshly baked flat bread was the perfect companion to it all. We will be back again and again.

The food was tasty but had to wait to be seated and service was less than desired as had to ask for cutlery and water a few times. Good ambiance and tasty food.

Excellent food as always. Service was a little slow but it might just be because it was a Saturday night and they were very busy and there did seem to be a lot of takeaway drivers coming in to pick up orders. Also, while we booked online, they were not aware of the booking and told us bookings need to be made at least 24 hrs in advance. However, they did manage to find a tabel to squeeze us in.

Made a catering order for family and friends gathering of 20 people. The food was superb, so tasty and arrived piping hot. The lamb was tender, rice just excellent and all the sides! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Professional staff with good communications about delivery/arrival times. Highly recommend for any gathering.

Zaatar Bake is a must-visit for authentic Lebanese cuisine! The Baba Ganoush was the best I have had perfectly smoky and creamy. The Honey Figs lamb Tagine was a masterpiece, with tender lamb and rich, aromatic flavours. great food, warm hospitality- I will definitely be back!

We had a group of around 30 people and Za’atar Bake were so so accommodating and flexible for us. The group had an amazing time, the staff are all lovely and of course the food is incredible! We will definitely be back, thank you!

This is the best food I’ve had in Oxford so far, I came here with my mum and she absolutely loved it! The staff are so lovely and every single dish we tried was amazing!

Visited on 20th January and had a fantastic experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to be kind to my baby, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a great vibe throughout. With affordable parking also just a few metres away. The food was excellent—fresh, tender, and full of flavour. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the portion sizes were just right. We ordered the chicken kabsa and mixed grill, both of which were delicious. The only thing that could have made it even better would have been a selection of extra dipping sauces. Overall, a wonderful dining experience—I’d definitely return!

Our party of 11 had the set meal. Za'atar Bake performed magnificently. This could easily have been the best value for money I have ever had, and the food was delicious.

My friend and I dined here. Great atmosphere, music. We had the sausage starter and spicy babaganoush - to die for!!! We had the spicy prawn tagine and chicken main. It was just a really satisfying meal. Highly recommend ordering what we ordered! Thanks Abdul!

Food was very delicious especially the Sharhat, it was very tasteful and tender. I came few times with my family and they loved it every time they came.

Great service by Abdul - food is great, and so is the ambience. Our go-to place in Oxford is one of the best foods, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.

Absolutely fabulous food. So fresh and full of flavour. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. They spotted we'd brought our own wine and brought over glasses without having to ask. No corkage charge either. Excellent value. Would definitely eat here again.

What a fabulous place to eat! Friendly service and lovely food. The vegetarian Moussaka was very tasty, the Baba Ganoush had that lovely smokey flavour and the spinach flatbread was definately worth having. The portions are generous, so bring a friend and a good appetite!

We ordered two vegetarian meals and both were delivered with meat. The restaurant refused to have the right food delivered and they would not refund it either. As I am a vegetarian I have to go to bed hungry.

Had a family birthday here, it was a really nice experience! Amazing food and great atmosphere! The staff really took care of us all. Tried pretty much everything on the menu (as there were 22 of us!) and the food was honestly so good, my personal favourites being the chicken maqloubah, chicken tagine and of course the spicy baba ganoush! The zaatar manakeesh is also very nice. I have also been in in the mornings before work and the coffees are really good! They use quality beans and great value for money, defo recommend having with the fresh baklava if you’re on the go!

Up Cowley Rd to work. Bingo! Coffee. Bakery. Looks like I have to go in as it's so inviting. Cosy looking in a big way and once inside IT IS. Greeted with a smile and served excellent coffee at only £2.50. No fill it up with water. No oldy taste. Fresh, real coffee at amazing price. I'm going back to eat . The menu looks great. Super clean. I'm not rating the food so I have to return. The pasty was delicious and fresh. It's a tented camp in the Sahara feel. To Me.

This is an absolute gem of a place to eat on Cowley road. Using fresh ingredients, the choice of dishes are timely cooked to perfection 👌🏿 The service is warm, welcoming and friendly. The staff will always talk you through the menu if unsure and will will take time to talk however busy. Frequented by locals, visitors and passers by. The background music is just that, soft entertaing and in the background enabling you to hear yourself think. Take aways are available and sealed containers for your surplus generous portions. Highly recommended 👌🏿

Delicious food and nice stuff good for family 👪 Every time I visit this restaurant I enjoy a new meal on thier menu 😋 they are really creative man can test different burgers in special way baked in oven and they have the most delicious Mediterranean Arabic manakeesh specially the meat and chicken. Starting dishes I can give it five stars 🌟 and I advise you to try baklava it's amazing and tasty. It famous for his special occasion like birthday party or anniversary party the staff are clever and the atmosphere in the restaurant can change in one second all people will enjoy thier show between singing and dancing and let everyone sitting share that special moments which will be unforgettable. Every time of the day has special music and character so if you visit them in morning you will enjoy different music than night and it all cheerful and can change your mood directly so you can feel yourself in another world. I recommend it hardly if you haven't already been there give it a visit and wouldn't regret it 😉.

We haven’t visited for a long time but the menu is much the same and the food quality just as good…. I believe there is a new owner but the chef is the same… We had the kofta and the lamb tagine with the lovely fresh flatbreads… all just so tasty and the meat was well cooked and tender. We will be back on our next visit to Oxford.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zater Bake Restaurant, and it was an outstanding experience. The shawarma wraps and pie were absolutely delicious—truly some of the best I’ve ever had. The flavours were exceptional, making for a super delightful meal. The restaurant's decor added to the overall experience, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. A special thanks to the staff for their warm welcome, particularly Mr. Abdul, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will definitely be recommending Zater Bake to friends and family. I look forward to coming back again soon!

Homemade, warm künefe is a wonder 😋 So are the other specialties they bake, and the mezzes and mains. Hugely recommended!

One of the best restaurants in Britain, especially for breakfast. Various options for manakish and other dishes. Very delicious and I highly recommend it.
