Disgusted had to walk home and return food after they made a mistake would not change it until I returned food

Not particularly friendly waitress. She wasn't rude but didn't smile and it wasn't the warmest of welcomes. There were two other tables with diners at them who I thought must be regulars as the manager was interacting with them quite a bit. He didn't interact with us once. Don't expect it but when the others left and we were the only other table in there he still ignored us. Food wasn't that great to be honest. I like my Chinese food but I wouldn't eat here again I'm afraid. When everyone else had gone two blokes came in separately and stood at the "bar" end of the restaurant. I think one was a delivery guy, God knows who the other older bloke was but he just kept shouting "f88k off and die!" at someone (maybe no-one, maybe at himself who knows). All a bit strange.

The food here is poor quality. Sweet n sour chicken was soggy not crispy. Mongolian lamb was fatty and undercooked. It should be crispy. Noodles were rubbery. Food was tasteless. The restaurant had no atmosphere, empty, no background music. Would def not recommend.

We have been coming frequently for many years. Great service and excellent food and tremendous value for money. Wide choice on the menu and portions are very generous. Highly recommend.

Wonderful to be able to eat in a restaurant again. Yun Hai gets our vote every time for choice, quality, service and price. Never let us down in 28 years.

Great little Chinese place in Rotherhithe. We always enjoy it here with the family. Love the crispy duck and noodle options.

Finally went back to the Yun Hai and it was as good as always. Great chicken & lemon, and beef & chilli in black bean sauce. Lovely staff, I am so glad that we can go back regularly now! Thank you for a lovely evening

Got home yesterday after a trip away in the absolute worst weather to discover no food in the house. I just wanted something warm and tasty and took a punt at the Chinese take away opposite. What a great discovery! The food was so tasty, very reasonably priced and the staff charming when I went to pick up. The winner for me was definitely the aromatic duck - there was so much of it and I’m looking forward to a delicious brekkie!! We’ll be back!

Ordered a plethora of dishes and they were, without exception, all very good. Prices were reasonable and the delivery was prompt. We had some staple favourites plus a couple of extra dishes just to try. We particularly enjoyed the double-cooked pork.

Ordered sweet + sour chicken, crispy beef, noodles and a side of chips off the back of good reviews below. Chicken batter was soggy, crispy beef was mainly crispy, not much beef. Chips undercooked. Disappointed as was hoping to find a good local Chinese ☹️

This is our go-to Chinese in Rotherhithe for take away, have been using them regularly for years. Their service is always friendly and fast with great food. We do try other places every now and then, just to try somewhere different, but so far the others we have tried have never been as good.

I have always lived in Rotherhithe and Yun Hai has been a family favourite for as long as I remember. The food is fresh and tasty, always treated well by the staff. No complaints and I really don't understand the poor reviews.

Excellent Cantonese food. Portions were big - Delicious. The steamed fish was excellent. The duck in pancakes was superb

This has been our go to Chinese for four years either eat in or takeaway. Deserves a 4+ rating. Great food (sizzling dishes if eating in), cheapest place nearby, and staff v helpful (delivery guy is cheeriest man alive!).

Our friend is a regular here for years but we were a bit worried to try due to some of the bad reviews. We should have ignored the bad reviews and not have waited so long to give it a try. The menu is fast and the food is absolutely delicious and generous portions. We can’t wait to go back. We will definitely become regulars now.

I’ve seen some bad reviews which surprise me. I’ve eaten in restaurant and had many take always and always been good food. Had family celebration meals and all enjoyed the food.

this place needs shutting down they are aggressive and rude and very dirty they will spit in your food if they dislike you iv seen them do it

The worst Chinese food i have tried. Duck was burnt prawn was uncooked. Service was terrible. Manager is so rude.

We go to this place quite often since the food is great and prices fairly cheap. There is a wide variety of dishes. Service is quick and they can also deliver to your door.

Food was very tasty very friendly staff and would return again mid week I don't think you need to book but weekends maybe best to book and they do a take away service

Best Chinese food in a long time, great and friendly service. Portion size big and of good quality and also low prices. Less than £20 per person for two courses, including drinks.

Fuimos allí esta noche mientras esperábamos la bolera en cerca de Surrey Quays. La comida era muy grasosa, sosa y luego demasiado salada. Los rollos fritos estaban ahogados en grasa y tenía un extraño olor amargo. El wonton era carne pura misterio! La comida tardó muchísimo y cuando pedimos, la camarera era muy grosero. Si quieres comida grasienta sub-par que es chino y ahogados en grasa incluso más grasienta, servicio, este es el lugar para ti. Si no, aléjate. Ojalá lo sabíamos antes malgastamos nuestro tiempo y dinero!

Went in last night with my hungry mate, I decided to have the exact same as him.food was actually very tasty, good value and arrived quickly. The service, as previously stated was cold which is probably why they do takeaway too

I live very close to this restaurant, so i go there quite often. The food is not that bad, but some of the food is a bit bland.

My family have been coming here for over 15 years - I've been enjoying dinner here virtually every week for the past 6 years! The food is (consistently) of a high standard & is authentic. We love the salt & pepper prawns, Hong Kong Style sweet and sour chicken, special fried rice, crispy duck, beef in black bean sauce... and that's just for starters! ;-)Michael and Susan serve us most evenings and they're always friendly and efficient. The food comes out the kitchen quickly and disappears into our bowls just as fast. Delicious & highly recommended if you're in the area. Don't miss out!

I have visited the restaurant on three occasions and each time the food has been to a good standard the service how ever is very hit and miss- the male member of staff is extremely rude.

Ate at the Yun Hai last night, food was lovely with a varied menu, friendly staff and just great value for money.

I was brought here to have dinner on Saturday night by a Chinese friend who lives in the area. The place is small, I think most of their business is from take away orders. On offer is a variety of Chinese dishes including the most popular such as crispy duck pancakes to the more unusual guava chicken. There is a large number of seafood and fish dishes. We were in a group of five and therefore ordered a variety of dishes to share. Particularly good were the crispy duck, broccoli with garlic sauce and the double cooked beef. All dishes were freshly prepared in little oil, with good quality ingredients and served in large portions. Service was good although we had to wait a bit between our starter and main course. At £20 per person including beers it was one of the most tasteful and cheap Chinese meals I ever had in London. Highly recommended.

Staff. What staff? Susan Boyle would get more attention in a strip club. Spent many hours on the line to The Samaritans since. Starter - Chicken & Sweetcorn soup - Comparable to Alligator urine. "Chef" must have had heavy hands. Never seen so much corn flour. Soup thicker than sperm. Main course - Mixed sweet & sour - Had better at Dixie Chicken. Disgrace.Came down to London from Lancashire to visit my youngest son, ended up with two days sickness.Gordon Ramsey's kitchen nightmares would not stand a chance.
