Legacy in Southwark

I made the mistake of ordering grilled fish. Apparently I was supposed to have told the waiter when ordering that I did not want the fish too dry. The grilled fish was hard and dry. It was a waste of money and response from the guy who served us was very unprofessional even though he was a likeable character. Won't be going back here.

Food is yummy, proprietor gives you his undivided attention. If you want to let off stress afterwards, they have a resident DJ who will ensure you dance your stress away. You can book ahead for parties or book a table. Good hang out joint

Been visiting this restaurant for years and I tried it again today. Only to find out it under new management called ibis legacy. Trust me. Worst experience ever. Order my food after an hour waiting. They got my order wrong. I don’t eat pounded yam. I ask for eba. But got pounded yam instead. I end up buy the stew only. For £8 each. Even tho it not my fault. Anyway stay away. Different management now.

I loved loved this place. The Nigerian fun is on point. Nd I was so surprised to see that the size of the food.. it was a full plate, lovely. The man that attended to us was really friendly, polite, had great customer skills. We didn't have to wait to long for our order to arrive. The place is neat. It has a bar at the side. They play really nice Nigerian music you can be vibing to while you eat. You can celebrate your birthday there.. someone celebrated her birthday when I was there. Seriously I think more people should try this restaurant, you won't regret it. Nd yes the pricing is just perfect. Nd their menu.. literally go see it for yourself.

Fui aquí con un amigo nigeriano y me dijeron que tomara la sopa de pimienta con pez gato. La sopa estaba bien picante y contenía tres trozos bastante grandes de bagre que estaban llenos de huesos. Todo esto estaba destinado a comerse solo con una cuchara. Sabor cero aparte de pimienta. Los platos principales de ternera y espinacas con ñame eran ligeramente mejores y muy picantes, según lo ordenado. Sin embargo, la carne era masticable y gelatinosa y tenía un sabor desagradable. Mi amigo explicó que así es como les gusta su carne, pero los europeos pueden necesitar algo de tiempo para acostumbrarse a eso. El servicio fue lento y necesitaba un recordatorio constante. Definitivamente no tengo prisa por volver.

The atmosphere is amazing, the customer service can not be faulted, this is the reason I have given four stars. . However the food was average, and the portion sizes were far too small for the prices being charged. This was the most disappointing aspect, but a very big deal. . Tiny portions with the average meal being £12 should be in larger container's..

Amazing service, amazing food and amazing customers. I went to this restaurant yesterday and was received very courteously by the owner (Paul). His approach was of such high standards that I cannot rave about this place enough. The old school music playing in the background and customers dancing and singing along, made me feel like I was in a restaurant in Nigeria. You do not have to wait too long for your order to be freshly prepared. I was enjoying the music so much that I did not really care about the wait. The Edikaikong and Joloff rice that we had was finger licking good and the Edikaikong was not the watery type that other Nigerian restaurants serve. Paul, kudos to you and your establishment and keep up the excellent service that you are providing. Thank you so much for the mix cd you gave me. It has been playing on a continuous loop at work today. Mini party at work yay! People, if you are looking for a bit of nostalgia and authentic traditional dishes, give this place a try, you will not regret it.

Good croaker fish orijin and islewu

Definitely wasn’t fresh and didn’t smell nice. Let’s see if I’m going to be sick next day but definitely Not recommended. I got delivery from them. I love african food and I ate in most popular african restaurants in London but this one is not one of them. Jellof rice was tasty but meat was old and spoiled.

As soon as the food was placed in front of me I was taken right back to west Africa. The food quality, the presentation and the service was incredibly good. Cant wait to go back again. Thank you!!

Rude and classless. The place is a little run down, many better alternatives. Poor, would not recommend. Owners replies to negative reviews are insightful and indicative to their attitude.

Home sweet home. You're transported back home the moment you entered this restaurant with the aroma of Nigerian dishes erupting from the kitchen and the sound coming from speakers. You can find Nigerian food and drinks here. And the peoples? Full blooded Nigerians. Wale Thompson was live on band stand.

Went to get a take away from Legacy and take it home which was over an hour and a half away , when I arrived home my food was still warm and it tasted amazing. Very fresh and tasted so yummy 😋 I will definitely be back. Also great customer service I will be back!!

We experienced very warm and finest hospitality. Nicely prepared and well presented food with great value for money. Waiters paod attention to details and very friendly. The highlight of the visit was the great music of the 80s beaming at the background, and the fact that we watched PL match while enhtoibg the delicacies. Absolutely perfecto

Honestly this place was life The food was exquisite The portion was amazing They served all the way up till 2am What do you mean!!! So accommodating and amazing service. Truly Igbo family that is running this place well Will defo come again.

I went here for a lovely date. The fish was seasoned perfectly and the plantain wasn’t greasy. It was a nice intimate setting with a good music playlist!

The owner thinks some off his customers are his students, was there a few months ago with my other half a friend of mine came in and was a bit drunk and out of order one of his customers frog marched him out of the premises, i now called the owner but he just refused to answer i left the payment of my bill on the table...and left only for me to go there today with my friend and he said to me we have unfinished business that he wont serve me.. so we left, there are one million and one african resturants in London......period.!!!.

He estado en este restaurante muchas veces con amigos, este es nuestro restaurante africana ir a.El propietario es amable y acogedor, y muy atento.La razón principal por la que vamos es por la comida que nunca me ha fallado, me parecen siempre (conseguir que los peces tilapia fresca con estofado, y plátano o arroz jollof, desafortunadamente no puedo opinar sobre los platos de carne), pero estoy bastante seguro de que sería igual de bueno.Las raciones son grandes y muy abundante, tbh no creo que he terminado una comida allí - siempre volver a casa con una bolsa para el perro.Un pequeño restaurante íntimo que tiene carácter - siempre limpias y perfumadas.Música de fondo africano y alma y grandes pantallas de televisión.Se abre la noche, creo que no tome distancia.Bien hecho de Legacy.

My friend and I visited the place twice to collect some food to eat at home. The place looks nice and clean and the food that we ordered over the phone was ready when we arrived. We recommend their Okra soup. Some other Nigerian restaurants in London may be cheaper but staff at Legacy are quicker and the food is better.

Can be very pleasant. The food can be good. My only issue is the "swallow" portions are small for the cost. Good customer service. There is a lower floor for gatherings and small celebrations too! they had some very fresh non alcoholic wine, no aftertaste!
