Ordered 2x wanton soup with very refreshing broth appettizer then mains we shared a chicken with broccoli (added ginger) and an egg fried rice..stirfry was cooked perfectly (not overly seasoned or starchy) Delicious with lovely glass of house red and reasonably priced!!

Amazing value for money as well as being incredibly tasty and fresh. We had the Fish Feast for 2, £43 each and it included an impressive fish platter to start, then a whole lobster, then a whole array of fish dishes for main. We could only eat 60% and took away a doggie bag. Absolutely delicious.

We had the fish feast for 2. It could have fed 4. Absolutely delicious, massive prawns, mussels, squid, scallops, whole lobster, sweet and sour cod, plenty of fresh greens, mushrooms and ginger. Ridiculous value for £43 each.

Went there to place a takeaway order, service was friendly enough. Food was pretty good, tasty without being spectacular. Maybe a little pricey for some dishes like sweet n sour chicken and dumplings that were quite small but other dishes were pretty sizey. All in I would I eat there again 👍🏻

As a big fan of Chinese food, I was desperate for a Chinese whilst working in the city. With football on the tv I was after a takeaway and the closest one I could find was 25-minute walk away but 5 minutes from Tower Bridge. On arrival there was only 1 table full of people and I was greeted by a male and female behind the counter. The restaurant was bright and pleasant and looked a nice place to eat. I ordered Egg Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Seaweed, Prawn Crackers and a can of Fanta Orange. I took the food back to my hotel to enjoy whilst watching the football. The Fanta and Prawn crackers were fine as expected. How could these go wrong. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was nice. Nothing special but plenty of chicken and some nice sauce. Whilst writing this review I am comparing this meal with my local Chinese, that I love over any other restaurant. The Egg Fried rice was ok, but I dislike Peas, and peas were contained in the rice. This is something I have never seen before and forced me to take them all out individually. The Seaweed was very finely cut and didn’t have too much taste to it and made me very disappointed. The portion sizes were spot on and the price very reasonable. As I say, I was not disappointed but as a fussy eater, I was comparing this to my local Chinese.

We went because of the good comments but the bad service. We were tourists and the attention was racist, all clients were given courtesy at the beginning and not us. When I asked why he ignored me.

Came here on a Thursday night and it was a pleasant experience. It’s in a quite junction, Not too crowded, polite Chinese service and food was decent portion & good home cook taste!

A lovely restaurant just a few steps away from Tower Bridge. The food was really good and we enjoyed the Udon noodles with seafood as well as the egg fried rice... Everything was freshly cooked and our kids really enjoyed the experience. Thank you, we will be back for sure 😊

Excellent Chinese restaurant, tucked away, but well worth going to. Discovered Hing Lee during a morning walk and went back that evening. Glad we did as the food was great and not expensive either.

Really lovely little restaurant in the heart of Bermondsey. Fantastic offerings with the set menu & good wine list. My only regret is I wish I didn't leave it 8 years to come back a second time! :)

Me and my boyfriend came here on a Saturday night after walking around looking for somewhere to eat. There were only a couple of tables in use so we were a bit skeptical. But we were so wrong! The food was incredible and came out really quickly and the severs were attentive and helpful too. We tried the satay prawns because we’d never tried a prawn version and it was amazing. We found that the food was really reasonable for central london and we will definitely be back!

Went for our sons birthday treat- but it was a disappointment. The starters of Duck and Dumplings- Prawn Toast were tasty but the mains just lacked flavour it was all so bland. A dish marked as "hot" in menu was not my sons deep fried chicken dish, well Im not sure there was any chicken it was jyst a pile of batter!. Baked pork with salt n chilli you would expect to taste this? No not at all again no flavour no bite! The beef and chicken was too soft - we dont mind abit of a chew and texture to our meat. Service was ok and the toilets were in need of a clean they are up n down some steep stairs so take care. Seemed busy for their take-away service but we will not go back or reccomend.

Very affordable food for the location also the food looks and taste freshlyprepared. You can order and collect or dine in. Some efforts/ thoughts went into the decorative displays. The service is average and fast.

This place is one of the true treasures of the Shad Thames area. The service is second to none, the food is delicious and affordable, and the location is perfectly located, being both accessible and away from highly touristed areas at the same time.

I LOVE this Chinese. It cannot be faulted. Good value, friendly, consistently delicious, fresh, helpful staff. I have been coming here for years, and intend to for years more. Top tip - their crispy duck is really, really delicious and not greasy. I can't see past it every-time I eat from here (dine in and take away both brilliant).

A bit disappointing as the taste was plain, for duck with vegetables, it's mostly vegetables and duck meat are hidden at the bottom,, very small portion,, not even in pieces as someone has chewed it. For a duck dish and small bottle of water costs £18 throw in trash.

I have been coming to Hing Lee for possibly 30 years and over the years I have taken family, friends and work colleagues who agree it is the best. The staff are so nice and the slightly older lady who has been there for many years always makes a point of coming and speaking to us. The food is always quick, hot and so tasty. I cannot fault it. Only wish they delivered but that would probably take the goodness out.

Myself and my wife often visit this part of London so we thought we’d give this quaint restaurant a try. Well we weren’t disappointed and will definitely be returning in the not to distant future. The food was extremely tasty and very reasonably priced especially for this part of town.£58.00 for a set meal for two and this included a bottle of red wine.. So would very highly recommend…👌🥂

Have just enjoyed an excellent meal. Ordered the set meal C for 2 and could not ask for better - requested an interval of 10 minutes between courses and got precisely that. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed the food, since I can’t have dairy or wheat and they didn’t have any Tamari sauce I was limited in what I could order (I started eating before taking pictures). However the waitress was helpful and we found some dishes, the food was delicious. I liked that the staff were still wearing masks . Will go back again

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They do not understand how to make Kung Pao chicken though. Their "Kung Po" is basically sweet and sour sauce with a few cashews and Chiles thrown in. Their beef with broccoli, however, is on point! The best part is how quiet and relaxing the dining room is. So hard to find in London!

I don’t think I will be going back here. I ordered a chicken dish and some vegetable buns. I was shocked when I got it at how small the portions are for the price. And I did not think the food tasted very good. I will try other options for a quick dinner takeaway next time

Most dishes taste the same, prices are okay according to central London, hospitality is good. In the end, the flavour pulled them down.

Delicious meal and lovely service, will definitely come again. We had the vegetarian duck pancakes (can't remember if it was vegan) the "duck" was very crispy and great flavour. Salt and chilli tofu and bamboo shoots/mushroom main also delicious with steamed rice. 10 out of 10.

Having just moved into the area, i have found a brilliant barbers, a wide range stocked corner shop and being a big fan of Chinese food i was delighted to find this restaurant almost on my doorstep. It is quite simply fantastic - the food is great, the staff very nice & polite and it has excellent hygiene. Would recommend very highly to visitors who maybe walking the Shad Thames/River area.

Our starters were Wonton soup(9/10), Prawns on toast(9/10), salt & pepper squid(10/10) and salt & pepper ribs(9/10). Starters were very tasty. and good portions. After this our mains arrived, 1 portion of egg fried rice(one is enough for two people), squid in black bean sauce(10/10), Chicken curry(10/10) the chicken was very tender and the sauce was delicious. Also had a portion of noodles with tiger prawns(09/10). All in all a very good meal and this restaurant is a little gem. Definitely be back.

Had a great takeaway when last visiting the area so decided to return & sit in. Decent food once again & lovely service from the very polite waiter who was doing all the work whilst another man with glasses sat on his phone & never looked up! He was doing the same last visit, just rude! We had chicken satay, bit dry but delicious sauce & good chicken & sweet corn soup. Mains were a superb light lemon chicken & a tasty beef n black bean sauce. House wine at £15.95 a bottle is a steal. Would highly recommend a visit.

My partner ( who's asian) and myself had dinner here. Ordered a set menu, food was pretty dire. The satay starter was dry and over cooked. The peanut sauce was bland. Main courses were uninspiring. The side dish of stir fried veg looked great but was in a nice clear corn flour thickened sauce but had zero flavour. Avoid this place if you have a discerning palate

Had dinner here with my partner. Don't go! Very industrial food, bland and boring. Save your money and go to China Town. I don't know how this place stays open

It is a little known fact about this restaurant but the owner is a budhist and so there is some great vege food lurking in the menu. I have been eating here once a week for years. Great place. Brilliant value too.

We are staying nearby at the Dixon Hotel & fancied a night off dining out & dropped in here for a takeaway. Large menu with great food offering. Opted to share chicken fried rice & a lemon chicken. Some of the best Chinese food we’ve tasted. Nice service too & great value for money.... £12.20 in London, wow. Will eat in next time we are in the area.

We had the Special Set Menu A for two people and were incredibly impressed with the quality of the food and how much you get for such a reasonable price! Considering the location I would have expected a much higher cost. The crispy duck pancakes were one of the nicest I'd ever had and they shred the duck at your table which was a nice touch. Would definitely come again if visiting London. Note to the restaurant: I was not able to access the menu through your website and had to find an outdated guest photo on another site, perhaps you might update this.

People go on about Crystal China being the best in the area, but Hing Lee has hands down the best chicken curry from a Chinese takeaway I've ever had. Other dishes sampled were also great (anything black bean they seem to do really well) and the Singapore noodles were fresh and not oily at all. I wasn't a fan of the dumplings, but there are plenty of places that do those well - but this place is a general all rounder and so long as you stick the favourites, you can't go wrong.

My first visit to Hing Lee - I was craving a traditional Chinese restaurant to enjoy the 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme and this place proved perfect. Amazing food, everything was freshly made, great service and very affordable even without the scheme. A little hidden gem in beautiful Shad Thames. Not sure what's wrong with their website, something seems wrong with the menu. They've won a new customer, I'll be returning. Thanks to everyone at Hing Lee for such a lovely evening.

I have been using the same place for nearly 10 years, but with Covid 19 they have closed down completely. So I have been looking for another place. I tried Hing Lee. I am disappointed. I ordered 4 dishes. I paid just over £25. When I got home, as they do not deliver, 30 minutes later, surprise. The Hing Lee special fried rice and the rice noodles were the right size but had no flavor. The rice was bland and the noodles plain. The other 2 dishes were half the size, very small. One was sweet and sour chicken, very hard and very dry. The other was supposed to be prawns with ginger and spring onions, but they gave me chicken and spring onions. So I called and they suggested that the chef made a mistake, but if I wanted I could go back and change it. I did not fancy over an hour. So, all in all, very disappointing, for the flavour, the size the price and the mistake.

Great little local place. Old school Chinese, can be a bit hit and miss with some dishes but have found a few favourites and go regularly.

Food was very bland, no flavour to any dishes, the satay sauce tasted very strange and watered down, the service was minimal and portions small for the cost. Wouldn’t visit again!

Had some fried rice with shrimp. Thought it would be better but for the price it was ok. Sadly we can only pay with card if it's more than 10£, which is weird because the overall price was 8£...

Este lugar sirve comida increíblemente sabrosa en un ambiente totalmente relajado y tiene una excelente relación calidad-precio. El personal es muy atento y te hace sentir muy bienvenido. Un "deber probar" si estás en el área de Tower Bridge y te apetece una sabrosa comida china. !

I was either unlucky or the food is not so great in general. Have been here twice on occasion and had two different dishes containing chicken and the meat tasted really strange.
