SO GOOD! The PERFECT late night meal, and the two men operating at the time were so helpful and kind, I'm definitely making a return trip or two during our stay! I want to try the whole menu!

Recently I decided to visit a local kebab shop, a place that had been recommended to me by an acquaintance as "great for a quick bite". Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be a complete deception, both in terms of service, quality of the food and the overall atmosphere in the restaurant. What should have been a simple and enjoyable meal turned into a frustrating experience that I won't soon forget. **Unfriendly and disinterested staff** From the moment I entered the business, it became clear that customer service is not a priority here. There was no one to greet me, and it took a good five minutes for anyone to notice me waiting at the counter. The staff seemed completely disinterested and almost irritated when I tried to place my order, as if my presence was a nuisance to them. A simple smile or a friendly tone could have made all the difference, but instead my order was taken curtly and almost sullenly. While waiting for my food the lack of professionalism was further noticeable. The employees were more concerned with each other than with their work. Loud conversations and laughter filled the room as customers – including myself – were clearly waiting for their orders. This nonchalant attitude conveys a lack of respect to the customer and greatly detracts from the experience. **Food of questionable quality** After a long wait, which was far from acceptable for a simple kebab meal, I finally got my food. At first glance, the kebab sandwich looked decent, but when I took the first bite, I was immediately disappointed. The meat was far too dry and had a cardboard-like texture, as if it had been aging on a heating plate for hours. It also seemed like the meat had little to no seasoning; what should have been a rich, savory flavor was now nothing more than bland, bland chunks of meat. The vegetables on the sandwich weren't a saving grace either. The lettuce was wilted and had those unpleasant brown edges that clearly indicate that it is not fresh. The tomatoes were watery and tasteless, and the onion seemed almost expired, which left a strange, bitter aftertaste. Moreover, the sauce was far too overpowering. Instead of complementing the dish, the sauce completely drowned out the meat and vegetables. As if that wasn't enough, the bun itself was soggy and limp, probably because it had been in contact with the sauce and moisture from the vegetables for far too long. To top it all off, I had an upset stomach shortly after eating, which raises the question of whether the hygiene and freshness of the ingredients are in order. **Poor hygiene and atmosphere** While waiting for my meal I also noticed how dirty the place was. The tables were covered in crumbs and sauce stains from previous customers, and the floor was littered with bits of food and napkins. It seemed like no effort had been made to tidy up or clean in ages. This is unacceptable, especially in an eatery where hygiene should be an absolute basic requirement. The general atmosphere in the business further contributed to my negative experience. The interior was outdated and unpleasant, with bright fluorescent lighting that made everything even more unattractive. The music, if you could call it that, was a mix of loud chatter from the employees and the sound of a poorly tuned radio. All in all, I felt completely uncomfortable and was happy to walk out the door. **Conclusion** My visit to this kebab shop was disappointing on all fronts. The combination of unfriendly staff, tasteless and poorly prepared food, questionable hygiene and an unpleasant atmosphere made this an experience I would rather forget. Rarely am I so quickly impressed by a dish. Yes, it is a fast food restaurant and seating is limited. But if I want to eat really good food, I'm happy to stand with it somewhere. That brings us to the correct name in my opinion... you get really good fresh street food here and it tastes like soul food. You will receive very friendly advice from the owner. It was so good that we went back the day after, despite all the offers surrounding it. Definitely try it out. Insider tip near the old town!

Yuk Yuk, the first bite I thought I’d bitten into a cardboard container, but it was the dried chicken that was a cross between cardboard & chewing gum, nearly broke my jaw chewing on various bits of dried out chicken, and it cost £10 what an embarrassment off a kebab, I flew to Albania the next day & had a kebab that was 10x better for £3, never going back to yum yum/yuk yuk again!

Really big portion of kebab and delicious too. Portion is good for sharing. Highly recommended.

Halal. Had a quick lunch after our museum visit. Just a short walk from the National Museum of Scotland. Very limited space to dine in though. A good portion of shawarma and pizza. Reasonably priced.

I went there yesterday with my family . The food is awesome especially their white garlic sauce . And Safvan who works there is very humble and nice guy . He went above and beyond to give us good service . He in fact gave candy and mars bar to my 3 year old son . Very good service and food is really awesome . I was charged twice. He said that the charge did not go throu and handed me another machine. I was then charged twice and has refused to agree to give the extra charge back to me via my charge card.

This was my favourite eatery. But 2 days ago, I found a hair embedded in my pizza. I mentioned it discretely to one of the staff, who said something I didn't follow at the time, so I mentioned it to another of the staff, who offered me a free pizza on my next visit. I went today and asked if I could partake of the offer. When the guy who made the offer came in, he said to the other guy and when my pizza was ready, I took it and wasn't charged (ie free). After I'd finished, I thanked the guy for being a man of his word and of honour and said about it being my favourite place. All of a sudden, they wanted to charge me! I said I thought it was free, because of the hair 2 days ago, which had to have been in the sauce or something to have been cooked within the pizza. They agreed to me not paying, but asked me not to return! So, whilst the food is usually great, you daren't criticise when something goes wrong. It's a shame, cos I'd have eaten there 2-3 times a week for as long as there's decent weather and would have recommended it to friends (who know it must be good for me to go several miles and spend a couple of hours just to eat there).

The garlic sauce on the pizza was everything. Attention was nice and fast, they were friendly! Pleasant experience :)

Not sure if the negative reviews led to a change in staff here, but we had a great experience, the man working there was nothing but polite and generous with everyone he served, us included. We got the 12" Munchy Box and it was an enormous amount of food--fresh, tasty, and filling. We have no idea how one person could finish it, we struggled as two people! Again, I will say the person there was extremely polite to everyone who came in. Maybe since we were there for lunch, the night guy is the bad one???

A restaurant with shawarma and halal pizza. Beware of the Turkish worker. Be careful not to deal with him. He is not honest and the amount will increase on you if he knows that you are Arab. There is an Algerian worker who is trustworthy, kind and very respectful. I would love to deal with him. They do not have payment by card. It is always broken. I pay cash for shawarma for 9 pounds, but the size is large.

Horrible! The customer service was very poor. The guy attending to my family and I was very rude. The food was poorly made. The fish was burnt and dry. The kebab was quite poor and the vegetables were stale. To make matters worse, we were overcharged! I hardly give low ratings on google reviews (you can check my reviews) but this was a very horrible experience.

Typical Turkish. Hot food, above average taste, friendly establishment. Falafel was good. Spicy not really spicy. Generous portions but 9£ shawarma.

This restaurant has two distinct individuals serving customers: one who is exceptionally kind, warm, and talkative, and another who exhibits disrespectful and racist behavior. I have visited this establishment on several occasions, particularly for their late-night kebab options, which are among the limited choices available in the vicinity. Their mixed kebab, which can be customized with salad, is absolutely fantastic. The majority of my visits have been pleasant experiences, with the amiable Turkish gentleman attending to my needs. However, there was one unfortunate encounter with the disrespectful and racist individual, who raised his voice and treated me with disrespect. Since that incident, I always check from the entrance to identify which of the two is serving before deciding to dine there. I would strongly recommend avoiding the restaurant when the latter individual is on duty.

Man was extremely rude. We were looking at the menu (the place was empty) and he told us "this is not a restaurant, you need to hurry" which was quite rude but we ignored that and ordered. When we asked for a kebab platter, he told us that the minimum order was 25 pounds (we understand this, but it was conveyed in a very rude tone although we were being polite). Before we could respond, he added "the haram restaurant opposite may be better for you" so we decided to leave. Never again. Poor attitude was so uncalled for.

Guy is pretty aggressive. He was rude to a bunch of people when we were in but I guess maybe it has been a busy period. He overcharged us and the food was pretty terrible. That’s the major disappointment.

Food is sensational and the service is great. Very friendly guys with good banter. I got the Kofta Kebab, the meat was perfectly seasoned, the salad was actually made of vegetables instead of just being shredded lettuce, and the sauce just tied the whole thing together. Perfect.

Anyone who lived or goes to Edinburgh please avoid this place. ‘Me and my girlfriend went to this awful place!Never met somome so Rude! Asked for to fanta 3 times got two tangos one after another. Both food came and both were wrong. Munchi box missing half the order and calzone was all burnt. Both tasted like charcoal. Person at counter was shouting at young girl behind us after we ordered tellin her she had not paid and nearly forced her to pay twice. Only after a shouting match got a replacement order. Still awful!! Waster of £23!!

Dreadful service and awful food

Small takeout, sells all sorts from pizza to falafel and schwarmas (excuse the mis-spellings please🙈) reasonable prices, infact pretty good for food in Edinburgh, guy that works there/owns it is really friendly and the food is what youd expect at a takeout - 4-5 small tables and seating inside so you can eat in (we did) - but this isn't a restaurant, it's a takeout with indoor seating - can't go wrong here when your hungry and need a re-charge 😁

Arrived from Canada later in the evening when all restaurant options were closed. Ordered two plain kebabs (without salad) asked to add onions and the employee hollered “YOU DIDN'T WANT SALAD”. So didn’t want to make a fuss, paid and left without onions and continued to get hollered and pointed at throughout the timeframe of ordering and paying. March 2nd, 2023 11pm.

Was very hungry after a late night out, was extremely hungry could of eaten anything really, but this chicken shawarma was a single bite and stright to the bin, it had a smell to it and my body alarm just rejected it completely!

I just went to buy a portion of meat kebab with chips. There was a guy who halfheartedly served me and he was quite rude. He just looked at me and didn't offer anything, even a few minutes after the last customer before me. He asked me to hurry up but I did not know if he was asking me a question. I then just asked him intuitively the sauces I would like. I don't think he has good communication skills with customers. The taste was ok, but the meat seemed to be undercooked and was not hot. The chips was a bit warm. I don't know if the colour of the meat kebab was just a bit pinkish for a reason. I don't think I will revisit this kebab shop. A rude staff, and not sure if the meat kebab was properly cooked. 🤔

Great option if you want halal food, a quick bite and are not in the mood to spend much on fine dining. The owner was lively, cheerful and quick at preparing food.

I bought chicken shawarma today at this shop, I saw a man he opened the lid of the saucepan and took out the chicken shawarma put it in the plates for us, I shocked when I saw but I didn't say anything. When I came home we ate the food, it was really old food not fresh at all, hard pieces of chicken in it and quarter of the plates was oil.

The donner pizza I had on 12/08/22 at 2215 was very disappointing! The pizza chef needs a review. The pizza dough was not nice, it was salty. The tomato base was old and was about to expire. The donner itself was a bit burnt and flavour less. Honestly, I'm a little sad I spent £11 on the pizza whereas there are big fast food chains a 10 min walk away. I cannot comment on other foods.

This small shop is tucked in on a busy tourist place with a very friendly staff working inside. This guy who served me is kind and food was good. Falafel, doners were quickly made and tasted good. Clean place, good food and a friendly host 10/10 ⭐️

One of the best kebabs I have had in Edinburgh highly recommend, come here on route home after a lovely evening with friends I always nip in and get a kebab wrap, staff are nice and friendly and the food is great! They toast the wraps also which I like! Can't wait to return ☺️

Visited on 20 March 2022: Great food, we are family of 6 from Malaysia, order was freshly made, one of the best kebab we ever had.. the burger was yuummsssiieee too and pizza also made fresh and he was doing the dough in front of us. Best, simple, fast, tasteful, fresh halal cafe which we accidentally found during our trip to Edinburgh. The chef was talkative, pleasent and friendly remarkably able to work alone from being a waiter to chef and served us hot kebab and pizza which were all delicious and above all affordable. Most recommended for Yr meals. I was told the cafe open until 2 am.

AVOID THIS PLACE PLEASE We went here last night after a couple of drinks as there wasn’t much choice left to grab food. We sat and ate some of the worst food I’ve tasted in Edinburgh, cheap sauces and hugely processed rubbish. We got our cash ready to pay and we’re told that display prices above the counter were wrong and they charged us roughly double those prices. After half eating the food we couldn’t bare we sat for a couple of minutes. From behind the counter he started screaming at us so randomly to get out if we weren’t eating baring in mind we’d just finished our nasty overpriced food. He then started shouting at another quiet man who was sitting on a bench located in front of the glass cabinet because he was to close. Don’t put a seat there if people aren’t allowed to use it!? Feeling very disappointed and violated, we went on our way. Will be reporting to trading standards too as this really affected us last night. God knows how they treat all other customers.

My order was very late (not the delivery guys fault, he was waiting 40 minutes), overcooked, and incorrect. It's fine as cheap food goes, but why bother when the next place is equally good and might not get things wrong? Won't be ordering from these guys again.

Don’t know if this place has changed hands or what. Used to be small Turkish guy with bald head and woman with black hair. Last 2 times I’ve been has been some other rude Turkish guy, couldn’t even run a bath nevermind a kebab shop. Got my order wrong first time and got angry when I told him it was wrong, second time I stood in the shop for 5mins and wasn’t even acknowledged, just walked out and went elsewhere, wouldn’t recommend, place has gone down the tubes
