Yum Yum Kebab in Edinburgh, City of

Stopped here on the way home as I was starving and it was right next to the bus stop. Kind of expensive (£8.50 for hotdog + chips) but it tasted good enough and filled me up. Not incredible but it did the job and they seemed like nice people in there.

Donner Kebab was a good serving, gave good advice on gluten free options

Food was delicious! The portions were perfect and food was freshly cooked. The staff is super friendly and generous. Totally recommend, theyre also open late.

Food is filth - "home made" lol what a joke. This dog food is never home made. Good if you're drunk out of your head. This food gave me the shitZ

my beloved yum yum, the first time I ever laid eyes on you I already knew this was gonna be a lovestory to cherish forever. there’s a Japanese saying called ‘koi no yo kan’ which means the instinctive sensation upon first meeting someone that you will one day fall in love with. but this was not one day, this was right in the first glance, after our 20 meter sprint from the hostel. the moment our lips tried your immaculate taste we could feel shivers running from our spines. our world exploded, it was love at first sight. nothing can ever beat this fantastic experience, and now we have to live with the idea that we will never feel this sort of joy again (until we visit edinburgh again). we will be longing for you. forever yours, moezel and roezel (please order the falafal or halloumi wrap if you want to experience this pleasure as well)

The most god awful kebab I’ve had in forever. The meat was dry , the chili sauce was like passata and every time I got a bite with the sauce I was disappointed. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

I usually don't have any problems with shops closing early if there are no customers but closing an hour early seems way too excessive. The opening hours said until 3am, I got there at 2 and it was closed. No idea if they just don't want customers or the hours are registered wrong but that screams "I don't want to work, I'm gonna go home early." If the hours are represented wrong, I'll take down or adjust the rating but just wtf...

Normal prices. We ordered Doner Kebab to take away. My wife couldn't finish it. Or it was my case. Abundant. We enjoyed it in the sun, sitting on the grass.

My son ate kebab in a pan, my wife and I, fish & chips. Everything was tasty and well seasoned. Quickly, great. Not expensive.

The taste is okay, but it is not worth the price. The price was exaggerated for one falafel sandwich and one Pepsi for £9.95.

As a Turk, it was the most tasteless doner kebab I could ever taste. Unfortunately, Turkish food is cooked poorly by non-Turkish people. I don't know how their other dishes were, but Döner Kebab was very bad.

Checked online for a take away while on train coming into Edinburgh, first trying here, went for the donor and chicken kebab, great service, great taste, what more can you ask. Would go again.

Place is rated 4.4 on Deliveroo which I fail to understand how. Ordered 2 chicken shawarmas, the shawarma was bland tasteless and the chicken had a bad smell. Unfortunately due Fake rating and stars we had to dispose off the food. The portion size was massive but is it of any point if the food is bad. It felt like something was put together just to get rid off what was left in the kitchen. Ordered food at 10.30 in the night, so by the time the food came and we found out the reality of the 4.4 rating it was too late to order from anywhere else. I guess shouldnt be ordering food online anymore because cant trust these ratings also anymore

Staying in a close-by hotel, we needed a late night dinner on new year's eve. Yum Yum was the closest open place. I walked in. I waited 4mn to order three wraps an they were ready in 3mn. My goodness. They were so good. Great food after a night of drinking and partying.

Guy tried to overcharge me, not sure if it was a genuine mistake or he thought I was drunk... Aside from that, the service was prompt, and the food was good. Plus, it was open at 1 am which is the main thing.

Its good for food late at night. Pizza and chips definitely hit the spot after a fun night. They are open late and you can bet it will be tasty and full of fat. No complaints here!

Your regular late night kebab house, nothing more or less. Large portion, pretty good, maybe a quid too much, but hey, there's literally nothing else around.

Rude staff, ordered large, got given small, staff got aggressive and rude when I asked about the size. I waited 37 minutes for my small order, yet people that came after (that ordered similar orders) were served before me, indicating clear prejudice.

We arrived late from airport and this was the only place open in the area. The fish and chips were decent as well as the chicken dish. Service was friendly and fast.

Great place for a late dinner. Despite there is no tartar sauce for the fish, you can use burger sauce and it will do the job. However, I don’t recommend eating the fried skin.

Late night food place on way back to hotel. Fairly standard food nothing to shout about. Staff were friendly enough. Wife had some chicken pakora, which was pretty dry, I had a lamb shish, which was pretty standard.

AVOID AVOID AVOID - Terrible customer service, very dismissive. Ordered a doner kebab and chips and only received kebab meat and chips, told the staff that’s not what I ordered or paid for but they literally made me take it or nothing. Portions are small yet expensive, no salt and vinegar on chips or even asked, asked for a bag and got told to bag it myself. WARNING - they prey on the drunks of Edinburgh!!!!

Fresh and delicious ,stuff very friendly

I have never eaten a kebab this bad, ever. The spicy sauce was spoiled and the meat was cold. If you are really hungry in the middle of the night, like I was, go to a pizza place instead.

I had bad day and tried to pick some food outside, there I saw yum yum, I had ordered one chicken shawarma of price £8.50 something and I had mistakenly provided him cash of around £10 he didn't given my cash back, its just hilarious, by frauding a coin or more you couldn't got rich, either just losing customers. Please put honest staff on till

That was the worst doner kebab I've ever eaten, everything was put on top of each other with the sauce on top and the meat was also very disgusting. It was a 1-5 because I was drunk and hungry, otherwise it was a 0-5

This place is terrible. Oily food and the people serving you are drunk and charges extra without you realising.

Delicious chicken shawarma. This place is hidden away in Fleshmarket Close but worth looking for! Not fancy but if you’re looking for a place with good middle eastern food, this is it.

The boss is a filthy racist and freaking robber! We had to order 5times before to get anything... Meanwhile this guy was mocking us with young girls clients. He tried to offered us gums and snacks to cover the fact that he charged us 2 times! Without giving us abandon receipt he immediately calls an other guy to pay for a default. After that he charged me 5 pounds more than my friend for the order. When my friend looked at his account, he noticed it. The boss didn't accept it and lied for 10minutes straight. Gave us 10 pounds less than what he stole from us. Disgusting behaviour and food! Never go there, dangerous and scammy. Gonna call police and hygiene control.

Chicken Kebab was not near to chicken at all. Rubbish and the guy on the teller was unprofessional. Do not recommend and better no to eat.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Portions were considerable. We had chicken shwarma and chicken donnor.

Food - chicken donner was not a closed kebab, however was perfectly spiced and cooked. Cucumber - very fresh - note you need a fork. 9/10 for the ‘chicken kebab’. A local said, ‘the best shwarma I’ve had in Edinburgh’ Service - would have to see the film footage to comment on this Atmosphere - Scottish - man walked in with three big bricks of cheese - no questions asked !

Even for a kebab place, this is dire!

Decently priced, large portions, fast service, great flavour and well cooked meat. Been there 5 times in the last fortnight and it’s consistently perfect every time, what more could you want?! Nice work guys

Great chicken doner kebab, on a lovely, thin bread wrap. Crunchy salad, great sauces. Very busy, which was a good sign. Highly recommended for a good grab & go meal.

The staff is nice and friendly, and the pizza was very tasty. I guess judging from other reviews your best bet will be the pizza. We did not have anything else, but could really recommend the pizza.

The most bland kebab we’ve ever had. Large shish for £13 but only one skewer, asked for two pittas and only gave us one in a seperate bag. Watery chilli sauce, the most BLAND chicken, seems unseasoned and like they’ve just put plain chicken on the grill, soggy chips and we asked for salt on them but got given them plain.

This place is legit. Open late, quick service, large portions and reasonably priced. The mixed meat and chips with cheese were my go to almost every night while I was in town for Fringe. The lamb kebab was also good. Of all of the kebab shops in the area this one was consistent in freshness and cleanliness. I'll be back to rest the next time I'm in town for Fringe!

You guys need to fix the open times on Google Maps. You guys aren’t even open accordingly!

27/8/22 - Saturday late evening snack We three middle aged London guys had just seen a show and were peckish for a pizza before hitting a few bars. We were being shown round by a local friend who recommended this place as it was near. We arrived to this busy joint at 10:15, ordered a veggie 12 inch pizza and by 10:25 it was in the small table between us by the window. A carton of spice sauce was given to us to prep it up. It was a good pizza, obviously piping hot and well flavoured. My friend said he was not hungry beforehand but that did not stop him eating a big piece as he said it was delicious! The boss was very chatty, humorous and started to play with the five screens (each came up as an MS Windows crash) displaying the prices which I thought were permanent backlit displays originally! The prices were quite steep (we were peckish and the options were limited locally) so that led is to believe that they may have been hiked for the Festival/Fringe. Our host will check them out later. Of course the prices ruses of energy may contribute to the increased prices overall and they are making hay whilst the sun shines and hedgeing on future rises. Btw to Mrs GG two reviews below (only 1 review) and Mary (3reviews!) thus is not England it is Scotland!! Interesting ...

Super tasty Shwarma! Fresh and delicious. It was filling too, so it was a good bang for my buck. The guy who took care of me was really nice. Also for all of my North American friends, it is here I learned that “salad” means lettuce and stuff on your food (wrap/ burger), not a salad on the side. Learn from me as I looked like an idiot lol. Good food !

Döner on the way home from the pub. It was nice, but too expensive and the meat was boring.

Dont eat here, nothing tasted like food. We had falafel, lamb pita and hummus, there was no food taste, hard stale food, you could not identify what you were eating, horrible !!! So unfriendly as well, as if they were doing me a favour by taking my money for the worst meal in all of England.

Quick take away bite specially after a few drinks. Not too sure if it was healthy but filling yes :)

Why it says on google that the place is open until 3am?

We got veggie Pakora on Friday night, it was hideous ... burnt on the outside, uncooked on the inside. We got three lots and had to bin the lot. Hard pressed to think of a worse meal I have had in my life ... really horrible. Chips and salad were okay.

Food is delicious and halal. Has vegetarian options The owners were very friendly and kind. Amazing little restaurant!
