Yum Yum in Edinburgh, City of

4/5 stars! Absolutely delicious food at Yum Yum Restaurant! We ordered the Chicken Spicy 12" Pizza and the Chicken Meat Kebab with Chips Platter, along with soft drinks. And oh my god, the taste was SO GOOD! The pizza was spicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The kebab platter was generous, juicy, and tender. We loved every bite! Highly recommend Yum Yum Restaurant for a satisfying and tasty meal.

The biggest portion you can find in Edinburgh for that price

Really tasty food however person who served us initially got my order wrong and started cooking a chicken burger not a beef one and had to repeat ourselves a lot for him to understand what we were asking for. But we got there in the end! I would recommend as the burger was very nice.

We visited here last night and had the mixed shawarma.. Loved it, great food and cool location. Recommend!

Ordered mixed kebab and chips and fish and chips. Very disappointed with the food. Kebab tasted undercooked and they would’ve been better off cooking birdseye fish and giving that because their fish was not nice at all. Do not recommend!

Very bad, I do not recommend it at all. The skewer has been hanging, I don't know how long, and it puts you from a plate on the side, not from the skewer, and its morals are at the tip of its face.

Halal. Food was OK. Tiny restaurant, quite secluded. Situated next to a flight of stairs on Fleshmarket / Corkburn St. Quite busy during dinner and can get a little crampy. Cheap price.

Came across this place when we were on our way home in one of the alleys. It was a bit crowded. There were a few people lining up waiting for their food when we were there but our food arrived 5 minutes after we ordered. Love the fish and chips and pizza that we ordered! Three of us shared both of these so i would say the portion is big.

Condescending service when we asked for takeaway - “it’ll get cold” even though we were staying around the corner. Opened it up to reveal the saddest looking fish and chips we’ve ever seen. They didn’t even have tartar sauce. Will not be back.

We ordered döner kebab. This is definitely not it. Only price and staff was good.

The food was not good nor fresh the taste was bad I had many pizza in my life but the one here was such worse in my life.

I have no idea how this place managed to make a kebab so bland. Flavourless. Unable to provide any hot sauce (or a hot sauce that was actually hot). I’ve had many kebabs in my life and this was easily the worst. Real shame as it’s a great location.

This place has the best chicken and lamb shawarma in Edinburgh. Location, price and most importantly owner is great! Highly recommended, at least I’ll be a repeat customer before leaving Edinburgh.

Very nice Turkish fast food with very reasonable prices. We had Doner Kebab and Burger meal deals, both were delicious and huge portions. Worth to try when you’re visiting Edinburgh!

Worst food I had in a very long time!

We have just returned from our trip to Edinburgh city and we have had our eyes set on this place as soon as we arrived. What a great establishment, very welcoming and a humble place of refuge after a night on the town. The perfect place to bring the family and try the local cuisine.

What an amazing experience…… the food is amazing specially the doner ( shawerma). The workers were so generous and nice.. definitely will come back here one day.

Excellent kebabs and toppings, price ok

So happy to get some fresh veggies here with my meal. The lamb was alright. Not the best I’ve ever had but everything was decent and well priced. The falafels were the best part. Usually I find many falafels dry but these were moist and delicious. The man serving is was also kind. The place is pretty small and the atmosphere is nothing to write home about.

We were hungry, but rather wouldn’t have eaten at all. Meat tasted like cardboard and was cold. Nuggets were crispy but the sauce poured over them, so they were soaked in a second. Not going again.

Chicken meat is perfect (beef meat was not appetizing). Own. Good. Fast. Cheap. Interior decor is nice (Scottish stones).

I asked for chicken shwarma and I think they give me stale chicken.

This is a great place to grab a late-night meal after the pub or to pick up a Shawarma for lunch on the go as you walk around town. The portions are generous and the Shawarmas I had were delicious. I highly recommend stopping in at Yum Yum and picking up a quick meal at a good price.

Use pre-made falafel balls and not freshly made. Didn't heat the wrap properly. And the wrap from outside became hard like papadom. Wouldn't recommend.

They have the advertisment of the fried mars outside but they have no idea what it is, then they fried something that looks like everything but mars, and the fried stuff wasn't crunchy, it came with a potato attached, I was going to give 1 star but I gave 3 because the potato was good The place was hot as hell, I am not afraid to die now

Yum Yum is truely yum yum. The men working here have been described as “wonderful”. Chips and curry are a must.

Don't be fooled by a humble shop in an alley, It is( the) place to get a chicken shawarma from. I bought both chicken beef( mostly lamb?) In wrap and in box, I loved the chicken shawarma, amazing taste , the thing is that I had 2 extra sandwiches in the fridge for 2 days then I ate the sandwich, was great ,next day box, amazing I loved the food , can't complement the chef enough, nice Turkish ( mostly) gentleman. While you are out of there , you will not miss the nice guy with the card tricks wearing batman themed suit, he loves pakora chicken by the way, his card tricks are crazy, tip him well if you could. Many thanks for nice long lasting experience, I am a guy from Egypt, hard to be impressed by shawarma ( my topping was salad, less tomato, garlic sauce ) tried other toppings on beef, was fine as well

Delicious mixed donor sandwiches. We got the large and they were huge filled up with meat! They put tons of fresh veggies on them too. They even had a nice seating area so you could actually sit in the "close" and eat. It's located in the close/ stairwell. Would highly recommend!

Best and economical Halal food option in Edinburgh Royal Mile. Their Chicken Shawarma and Chicken Burgers are wonderful treats while roaming in the streets of Royal Mile. Thumbs Up !!

Such a great food! I had a chicken schwarma with cheese and it was absolutely delicious, really good wrap, great veggies and nice sauces and meat. It really was extremely good, I think the best schwarma I have ever had.

Average food, slightly expensive as compared to the value. Very small space to sit in. Parking nearby slightly hard to find.

If youre a HSP lover defo come here. The shop opens till late night and the perfect meal you need. Also its halal!! Big portions and can share.

0 étoile serait le mieux. J’ai 28 ans. Partons du principe que je vais manger au restaurant 3 fois par semaine depuis mes 18 ans, je n’ai jamais vécu une telle expérience. Le gérant, un homme de 50 ans, a mis 30 minutes pour prendre notre commande en se trompant à plusieurs reprises. Nous avons jamais reçu ce que nous avions commandé mais certes, nous sommes passé outre par la faim. Une fois arrivé à la caisse pour régler l’addition, le gérant nous a fait payer non pas une fois mais 2 fois, qui d’ailleurs était supérieure à ce que nous avons commandé. Il nous a dit que le premier paiement n’était pas passé. Nous l’avons cru aveuglément mais avons tout de même vérifié sur notre application bancaire. Le 1er paiement était passé. Nous avons dû crier pour se faire rembourser au bout de 20 minutes de négociation du premier paiement. Qui d’ailleurs était différent du 2ème paiement pour la même commande. Commentaire long qui résume mon désarroi, n’y allait jamais sauf si c’est pour faire pipi dedans la devanture en sortant de boîte.

I got a terrible food poisoning, with symptoms lasting for 1.5 weeks, after consuming food from this place. There are no hygiene standards in this place.

The food was good but the owner was very rude charged us double for the food when we went to tell him started shouting and asking for receipt which he never asked for nor gave us we tried showing him our bank statements to which he said we somehow changed it.......hate the place 0/10

So if you look closely outside the shop, there is a huge 3 foot by 2 foot sign that reads: "Deep Fried Mars bar. £3.95." With a picture of a deep fried mars bar on it. So as any excited tourist would do, I stepped inside to see 3 unoppened mars bars inside the chilled counter. Excellent I thought. The two key ellements known as supply and demand have found each other. Success you would imagine? Wrong. My order was met with a firm "no" and a shake of the head, without any further explanation. Even after I reminded him of his cold store inventory, All he had for me was a smirk grin on his face. I was reminded later that night that all the ingredients you need to make a deep fried mars bar with beer batter at home will cost you way less than £3.95 per bar.

The worst customer service I've ever seen in my life Some rude and racist middle eastern men are working there who even they don't like their own people and generation In 14 AUG 2019 , around 19.50 P.M I came to this store Two poor Turkish men came to the store at the same time I was there , and the sellers insulted them during talking with them 😮 They really don't respect even their own people? 😳 I would call police if I stood in those two Turkish men place 😡 I hope never see this bad attitude again anywhere else I hate racism . .

Ordered a kebab wrap and received the smallest portion I have ever seen. Almost £8 for what looked like 200-300g of donner meat. Tiny amount of salad & sauce. Very dry. Won't return

Nice kebab and the calzone pizza was delicious. Perfect “pit stop” for those doing a bar crawl. Would recommend it!

Mixed experience with my mixed kebab. The lamb Döner is disgusting, however the chicken shawarma was lovely! The supposed large was a bit on the small side and with a bottle of Irn-Bru came in at a steep £12. Will probably dodge it again and wait until I get off the train at the other end.

Despite supposedly being open till 2am, I turned up just before 11:15pm (a more than reasonable pub chucking out time) to find the guy behind the counter cling filming and taking down the chicken kebab, no sign of the Donner and I was informed pizzas weren't happening either. Used this place a lot in the past, but will not be back.

Went in after midnight to try a deep fried Mars bar. American husband ordered and gave £20 for a £2.95 order and got £2.10 back. Obviously taking advantage of either a drunk/unaware customer but I called him out and he played dumb. Know what you’re handing over before you get your change

You can tell this place is very special as soon as you walk in. The owner and chef is so kind and generous and allows you to sit as he is preparing the food. As soon as we ate we could tell we were eating high vibrational food that was prepared with love. We are very blessed to have eaten here and we would even suggest that the owner increases the prices of the food because it is such high quality and is delicious. Merci pour Infinitude.

The entrance is located on the stairs/alley, so don't be confused. Friendly & helpful staff. All is halal, so if you tried to find halal food it's convenient. Generous portions too. 👍
