10 if us Dropped in at short notice and not long before the kitchen closed. Very welcoming and quickly got us settled and food orders in. Most of us had pies and they were excellent 👌 large with lots of filling and we all cleared our plates. Recommended if you in Bala area

Lovely community pub super friendly. The food is simply excellent, we had the roast dinner, it was superb in every way.

I cannot begin to explain how fantastic this culinary experience was. I should have guessed it was good from the other reviews but honestly some of the most top tier pub food I've ever experienced. And the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful this just adds to the comforting atmosphere definitely will coming here again.

Visited with friends and two dogs during busy August Saturday, it was good that we booked. The beef smash burgers were fabulous. Staff were friendly and very welcoming to our dogs.

Faultless, traditional pub with friendly staff. Varied menu, the chunky chilli was delicious. The whole family cleared their plates. We would definitely come back when in the area.

Food was delicious. Service was fantastic. They recommended dishes to us, we went with the burgers based on that recommendation and were not disappointed. They also recommended ales to me and remembered which one I hadn’t had yet.

Tucked away in the middle of nowhere we found this pub and community shop. Well worth a visit! Staff were friendly and we sat outside in the small garden and enjoyed the glorious views.

Popped on the Bala Lake Railway for a day out and headed to Yr Eagles. Well worth the visit. The roast was to die for, the burger was spot on and the pints were worth 1 or 2 or 3...shame we had to get the train back. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Worth a day out. :)

Dog friendly pub. Lovely warming pie. I had chicken and chorizo, my partner had steak and ale pie. Comes with pea. Great!

Lovely local pub. Stopped off on the way to Barmouth for a spot of lunch. Was very quiet at the time we visited but food was great. Had everything you would need. Would come back again if in the area and would recommend to others.

Beautiful pub, superb staff, fabulous food and the little essentials shop was great for restocking our caravan!

Food was good, the service was okay but the staff seemed either very inexperienced or not really bothered. Entrance to the car park is a little tight, just a warning if you have a large car.

Great place to visit. Cozy fireplace, friendly staff and loved the little handy shop inside the pub. We'd been to Barmouth and called in on our way back to Llangynog for a couple of drinks and a bit of shopping!

Stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon during our journey to North Wales. Delightful staff and locals. We enjoyed chatting with them while sipping our wine. Food looked delicious, but we did not eat while there.

Good food, good beer, came here during my zinger days. Met a bloke who enjoyed the lamb shank wirh a bottle of wine with some very interesting opinions.

Friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from both staff and locals alike. Food was excellent, well presented and good service. Pity the weather wasn't kind but we will be back.

The pub has recently come under the ownership of the local community and has new management since December 2023. My wife and I ate here on New Years eve and were both incredibly pleased. I ordered the roast beef which was beautifully tender and flavourful. The roast potatoes were crispy and golden and the cauliflower cheese and red cabbage were both first rate, fresh and not overcooked. I really don't think there is a better roast dinner available in North Wales. My starter of French Onion soup really packed a punch. Sorry - it was so good I'd destroyed it before taking the photo. Overall the pub had a warm friendly atmosphere and well-trained staff who were attentive. This is a great pub for circular walks on the Aran or Arenig range, passing bikers, or for those looking to venture the other side of the lake from Bala in search of a more rural setting.

I know there have been a lot of changes recently regarding its sale to the community and then being leased. I checked the wonderful menu beforehand. We were there after scattering Mums ashes and were looking foreward to a lovely meal out of the cold and wet of the lake where Mum had been laid to rest. I phoned specifically to ask if food was being served and if we needed to book. Yes to the food and no need to book. We were told there was a restricted menu( wish they could have told us on the phone) Restricted was literally restricted to a couple of different burgers with fries! Small portions and we're not really burger people, but damned if we were going out in the weather to somewhere else, risking no tables available. The place was freezing. I could hardly hold my cutlery as my hands were so stiff. The staff who took my call while very sweet didn't give the information we needed, and the senior staff seemed rather defensive. I was trying to be encouraging regarding the future, as we live less than 3 miles from the eagles towards dolgellau. So all in all Im hoping for improvement, and a less defensive attitude. We want to do what we can to support our local. It has always served gorgeous food with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere where you don't need to keep your gloves on.£15 for a burger and small fries and slaw ,not too expensive, but could have got a maccy d's for less than half the price with a drink. do think things will improve given time. Staff need to listen, apologise and not be defensive! All good wishes for the future 😊👍🤞x

I visited The Eagle as i was staying in a cottage not far from the pub. I didn't eat here but i saw the food coming out of the kitchen, it looked absolutely beautiful. The service from the bar staff was excellent, i would highly recommend visiting this establishment if you are in the area.

Just amazing food & service, lovely atmosphere 👌 would certainly go again highly recommend it.

Lovely pub/restaurant. Food was wonderful 👍, had the Chicken with pineapple and cheese... catered really well for my vegan wife 😊 Pub also acts as the local shop, pay at the bar for groceries 🙂

. Staff were friendly and food was served in a quick and efficient manner. The starter and main were great and reasonably priced as were the beverages but the sticky toffee pudding was disappointing and was expecting it to be better after the first 2 courses. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area.

We stayed in a cottage 10 mins walk from here and eaten here every night. The staff were so friendly and the food was amazing ( Steak pie) the local people was really friendly too just chatting to us like we was friends already.we loved it in here

This is a shop cafe pub restaurant. We had a delicious ice cream in the afternoon and went back in the evening for a meal. Food good and tasty. Good real ale. It's in a Welsh speaking town so good but not essential to learn some Welsh phrases. As a family of four we really enjoyed our two visits.

Amazing food, great service, always friendly. The food is not cheap but not very expensive and well worth the price. In many years of visiting while on holiday, we have never had a bad meal.

Changed from allowing dogs so sat outside , food wasn’t cheap ( like everywhere these days) but the quality wasn’t there sorry, very disappointing, no garnish and frozen chips served in a plastic basket , sorry but will head to Bala from now on .

Absolute little gem of a pub. Food and service are all great. Very reasonably priced too. No dogs allowed inside but there's plenty of seating outside. There's also a small convenience shop inside the pub for essentials. A perfect village pub, that make you feel extremely welcome.

Waited 15 mins at the bar. I could hear voices, but no-one appeared. I left unnserved.

Staff were friendly and accommodating, but I'm afraid the food was just atrocious. Burgers were like cheap frozen ones, with no salad - literally just a patty in a bun. And the adult version, which cost twice what the kids version did was identical, except without the peas, which left us a bit baffled as to what we were paying for! It was incredibly basic and not what I would expect for the money, or given the other reviews. Honestly one of the worst meals out we've had in a long while.

Hidden gem on the other side of the lake staff are welcoming and friendly food is amazing and decent portions if you're in the area, please visit you will not be disappointed car park abit of a squeeze so if your in a wide vehicle it might be a push thank you once again.

This family owned pub was an amazing introduction to Wales and Welsh culture, all of the locals were so friendly and the food is amazing. Be sure to make reservations if you're planning on attending for a meal, otherwise you'll be able to enjoy food in the bar area.

Staff are incredibly welcoming and the food is fantastic. We had two from the specials board and the lamb was local and cooked to perfection. They also have a shop which is great when staying at the local campsite.

Popped in here for lunch our way home Yorkshire. Staff super nice and accommodating and food is outstanding. Definitely come back

Web site said open between 12 noon and 2pm. Arrived at 12:30 to be told that only customers with reservations were being served food. Only a few tables occupied, but told they were closing kitchen early. They were not even prepared to sell us a quick to prepare meal. We were very disappointed as we had made a special journey as we were told it was good there. We went to the very good cafe at the steam railway centre instead.

Village pub at entrance shop small bar that is cosy and inviting. It has a surprisingly large lounge and a smaller garden area at back. Staff freindly and beer was good. They do serve food but on the occasions we visited only had drinks. Food we saw being served looked good Well worth a visit you will not ne disappointed
