Tiny shop with the absolute best food! Soup dumplings are why we drive up from Stansted. The spicy Udon is spicy whilst the Wonton soup is perfect. I always want to try new dishes but I can’t veer from the tried and true!

Highly recommended Chinese restaurant serving a large variety of Chinese food. We came twice in 3 days; once as a couple and another in a group of 9. Food was excellent on both occasions. In particular I liked the pork belly with egg on rice, pork ribs in noodle soup, dumplings (fried n steamed) and apple dumplings for dessert. Slow cooked chicken broth , pork hock with rice and beef shank noodles were great too. Overall, this restaurant is a must visit if you are craving for Chinese food. Lady owner is from Shanghsi and was very friendly too. Restaurant is tiny so go early to avoid being turned away. Reservation is possible.

A great HK diner-style place. Reasonably priced with a small but perfectly formed menu. This was a great place to come for a solo evening meal - I was seated in the window and got to watch the world go by. Noticed they did a dumpling and coffee afternoon deal - would definitely come back for this!

Authentic Shanghai taste! The three fresh shrimps taste great 👍 very delicious, the ingredients are very fresh, the dumpling wrappers are so elastic and chewy ~ the soy milk is freshly mixed in and it makes a difference!

One of the most authentic Shanghainese places have ever been in Europe. Highly recommend the fried soup dumpling, scallion pancake, fried dough stick, and beef/cucumber salad. Superb!

The steamed dumplings were excellent. The mochi were also good. The place is small but cosy. The staff was helpful and kind. Prices are reasonable. We would recommend this place if you are in Cambridge.

The hot black sesame soy milk is fresh, fragrant and delicious, the scrambled eggs with tomatoes and rice are as delicious as home-cooked in the home kitchen, and the old bone soup is delicious as home.

this has to be one of my favourite restaurants. even though its pretty small, i always have a lovely experience here and the staff are quick, efficient and treat their customers nicely. there is a button to call staff over if you need help so you dont need to stand at the register or anything and instead they will come to you. the menu has a lot of selections to choose from and lets you know its temp/vegan by the colour of the text. their chicken dumplings are always on point; definitely a personal recommendation from me, and their ice milk tea tastes like no other ive ever had! im always ordering those two. if i was able to rate this restaurant out of 100 instead, it would get that 100. dont miss out on a chance to come here!!! the prices ranges to about 15£ per person. usually about 3 people getting 3 things each finalises to around 50£

A single teabag in a kettle for two - no taste at all. Long waiting times, two identical orders were delivered with a gap of 10+ minutes. Every person had to eat alone while others were waiting.

Delicious food! Very authentic Chinese cuisine with amazing dumplings. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the owner is very polite and friendly! This place has now become a favourite of mine in Cambridge with frequent visits!

Super friendly late night service. Quick, tasty and full of flavour! We had tea, shared fried pork dumplings, steamed pork dumplings and pork bao buns. My hubby ordered the hot & spicy #115c beef noodle soup. There was sooooo much delicious flavour in the broth. This place is clean and fast. Definite recommend!

Genius cooking, proper Chinese without the excesses in salt, umami and sweet so common in UK restaurants. The dumplings are top notch but there are plenty of other traditional and modern dishes. Reasonably priced and with friendly service. Great for couples, friends and families.

This noodle dish is simply bad. It’s made with instant noodles and even tastes worse than regular instant noodles you buy at a random grocery store. 0/10

4.5 not perfect but homely. 2nd visit with friends Xiaolongbao is a little dry inside. The dough is perfect, so I would suggest adding a little more broth jelly to the filling. At present it’s better to have it as grilled soup dumplings 生煎, which I remember was fantastic though different from the mainstream. Spicy beef shank is decent. Not spicy but nicely seasoned. Scallion noodle 蔥油拌麵 should have more fried scallions from an orthodox Shanghainese point of view, although it still tastes good with the light soy sauce flavor (and I know my mom would be the kind of person to order scallion noodle with less scallion :3). The pork rib is well cooked and tender. On the sweeter side it I won’t quibble. Waiting time can be quite long because it’s a husband and wife kitchen. The price is of good value and food is still worth the wait. Roast Duck udon also looks fine, while the spicy seafood bowl maybe a little artificial according to my friends— well I’d always stick with Shanghainese dishes here (｡ì _ í｡) —— Enticed by the shop name as a Shanghainese and finally found my opportunity to visit after meeting my supervisor. Soy milk does have a toasty scent of fresh ground soya. 生煎 grilled dumpling is different from my expectation. The bottom is nice and crispy and the filling is homely, not too oily, and gently flavored. However, unlike the fluffy (boazi-like) dough I remembered, this one has an unleavened skin like regular dumplings, making it more like grilled giant soup dumplings with thicker skin— on the brighter side, since they are able to grill a giant soup dumpling, I now have higher expectations for soup dumplings 🤔️. (*some might say it resembles the unleavened thin-skinned xiaoyang grilled dumplings but these are way better than the chain’s greasy filling.) A nostalgic and lovely aroma wafts out of the kitchen. Food needs time but it seems to be made to order. A hearty wife and husband shop indeed. (May I offer to help ☺️ Looking forward to coming back with friends (to share more large dishes) or after supervisions :> A little pricy but it’s in Cambridge not Shanghai and memories are priceless. (The chairs at the bar are a bit too low for the petite me😅

A hearty and authentic Chinese meal, would recommend! Braised ham hock was flavourful and came with a big portion. Steamed pork dumplings was nice but could be juicer. Spring onion pancake was crispy and the spring onions were very fresh! Salt and pepper chicken was well-fried and packed with flavour.

Popped in for a quick lunch. The service was excellent and the food was out of the world. I had the mixed boiled dumplings and they were wonderfully tasty. Will definitely be going back again.

The food is outstanding. And the prices seem reasonable for the quality and location. The service is charmingly idiosyncratic. The decor / layout / ambience is a little lacking but that doesn't distract from the food.

Very good dumplings and other chinese soups and vegetables. I would wish to have a bit more soup in the Xia Longbao, but this is the most difficult one to do, right :-). The taste of all dishes was really amazing. And the owner was so friendly and provided very good service to us.

Incredible dumplings and noodle soup at this simple restaurant! My beef shank was so tender it was melting in my mouth-the best noodle soup I’ve ever eaten (and I’ve eaten many!). Our prawn and vegetable dumplings were very tasty. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the great menu! Lovely service too- thank you!

I always deliver to this place and decided I need to try the authentic cuisine that they serve. I had pork Ribs, with Rice and Pak Choi. The ribs were tender, the sauce was delicious and the rice and Pak Choi were fresh. I will be coming back for sure

Great addition to the Cambridge noodle scene. There are many average noodle restaurants in Cambridge .but your dumplings is above the average. Good and varied menu. We tried the Soup dumplings, Prawn dumplings and the beef soup. Each dish was tasty and flavoursome. Not the biggest restaurant, but, big enough to be comfortable. Great find for us. Big thank you also for the warm welcome we were given.

One of the few restaurants still open at 21:15. The food was not bad, overall a great addition to the list of my go-to Chinese restaurants especially when I’m craving 油炸鬼 and 麻辣燙😋😋

Ordered the Xiao Long Bao (mini steamed pork dumplings), it was a disappointment that only 2 of the 6 actually had juice inside. Also ordered 生煎 (fried pork dumplings, see picture) as it was the name of this place. Unfortuanately it turns out to be quite differnt from the Shanghai style. The skin was soggy, not crispy as it should be. Ordered the wanton soup and it was quite tasty. The wait was around 20 min when it does not seem so busy. It accepts card but at an extra cost compared to paying by cash or through Chinese paying apps. Assuming it is typical of places like this.

Had a great time here for brunch. Ordered the noodle soups and the fried dumplings. Definitely recommend this spot for your tastebuds with a date.

A definite hot spot for great Shanghai food. Excellent value for a little tour for your taste buds if you've never experienced Shanghai before.

I try not to order soups in Chinese restaurants (even in Asia) because they are often too salty, oily, or taste like MSG-flavoured water. The soups served in this restaurant are genuinely an exception. It is my third time returning to this place for soup, and the quality has always been consistent. My personal favourite is the chicken soup, but the pork-based broths are equally outstanding! Naturally delicately sweet (likely from the carrots and shaoxing wine) with a umami-rich flavour profile, this steamy bowl of nourishing, clear (no hint of any scum!) chicken broth will warm you to the bone, and will get rid of any sniffles. The soup comes in a big bowl with generous portions of bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, black fungus, chicken, glass noodles (mung bean noodles), potatoes, carrots and ginger. Given how flavourful the soup is, it is no surprise when I was informed by the kind lady at the counter that the soup was simmered for at least 4.5 hours before serving! It is so rare to find a place with such excellent Asian soups, and I honestly hope this home away from home is here to stay for a very long time… :)

If you are professional YouTubers, you should come visit this restaurant! We are so happy to finally have freshly made dumplings and noodle soup with reasonable prices and nice and quiet seating, after feeling so disappointed at trying street food at the Market Square highly recommended by most YouTubers!

Wonderful, friendly service. The food was delicious, I highly recommend the fried dumpling sticks dipped in fresh soy milk for dessert! A quiet little place that felt wholesome and comfortable, can't wait to go again.

This is my favourite place for simple and authentic Chinese food in Cambridge. It’s such a hidden treasure. The food is absolutely amazing and the owner is so sweet. I’m literally bringing every friend of mine here. And it’s really quiet and cozy inside. Highly recommended.

Not just wonderful food (the soup dumplings were absolutely delicious and the salt and pepper squid some of the best I've ever had) but service that goes above and beyond. I accidentally left a bag in the restaurant with an expensive item of clothing I had purchased and when I emailed in a panic, not only did Maggie the restaurateur agree to keep it safe, but she quickly posted it back to me in London. Maggie was also nice enough to lend me a phone charger when I was stranded waiting for my parents as my phone had died. A wonderful place that I'm very glad I stumbled into and can't wait to return!

The food is very tasty. We had a few dishes like steamed soup dumplings, spring onion pancake, wonton with chilies oil. Definitely come back. The inside is a bit stuffy with low air ventilation. Overall is good.

The xiao long bao are INCREDIBLE. I had no idea you could get such depth of flavor in a dumpling. Very rich and tender. Highly recommend.

We passed this restaurant and decided to go in and give it a go as it is new and was empty. Best decision we ever made. We had a range of dumplings plus soup noodles. Everything was delicious and way surpassed our expectations. A hidden gem in Cambridge that won't remain undiscovered for long.

The food was literally too good and I will definitely go there again. I has the grilled pork dumplings and deep fried pork dumplings which, were hot and delicious and the rice and ribs were just as good. The lady who welcomes you and serves you is really sweet too. I highly recommend trying the place out and the dishes they provide. Also tried the roast duck with rice and it is a must try! There was also mellow, cute, calm music in the background.

Newly-opened Chinese dim sum and noodle bar, a short distance from the main thoroughfares and crowds. We ordered a range of dim sum (prawn and veg dumplings, spring onion pancake, tea egg, salt and pepper squid, custard buns and more) and everything tasted superb. Tea was also loose leaf. The seating area itself, though very simple, was laidback and restful, with large windows onto the street, and the lady who served us had a wonderful smile and calming manner. We visited on a Thursday evening and it was sadly very quiet inside. Please visit and help this place flourish!!
