So, first visit since new owners and it will definitely be the last, asked for a large fish and chips 3 times to have the woman behind the counter rubbing her head and pointing at the menu saying she doesn’t understand what I want, 6.15pm on a Friday night no cars outside and not a sole in the shop, normally queuing out the door, such a shame it’s changed hands,

I’m a guy who never eats fish because I find the smell and taste off putting, however, I tried the battered fish and chips and it was pleasantly surprising. I really enjoyed my meal and would come to eat again! It was also a bonus that it was affordable and halal too for my Muslim friends to join me!

Normally after a fish and chips, I’m always very bloated and my stomach feels uneasy. However, after paying my first visit today, the food was amazing, the fish tasted so fresh and amazingly, my stomach was feeling great! I suspect it’s because the oil is being changed more regularly and the new owners seem to take extra care on the cleanliness front. I would definitely recommend!

Just had pudding chips and gravy, pudding was awful, chips cold and the whole meal was tasteless 1st time calling after 25 years and won’t be returning and so sorry to be writing this

Semi-regular customer of this chippy: the only downsides are the chips that could do with an extra five minutes in the fryer and the sometimes sporadic opening times, but i understand it's a tough time for all chippies so maybe it's a cost saving thing. That said, staff are super friendly and when they get it right they REALLY get it right: i usually loathe gravy on chips but theirs is manna from heaven! The breadcrumbed fish is better than you'd expect and the portion sizes are generous!

Food is very nice but the staff look like they don't want to be there not a smile between them . Been a couple of times in the past few weeks and been ignored by staff who seem to be doing nothing.

4 star because - service was very good - portion size very good - price very good ——— chip quality poor undercooked - sausage quality good and mushy peas good just them undercooked chips .

This fish and chips used to be good and I sung its praises vs other establishments. Unfortunately I’ve noticed the fish I ate last time was poor quality. I’ve not rated a 1 star as I hope they can return to their former glory.

Good fish and chip shop, generous sized portions and always well cooked food, extremely friendly staff and super clean place....... but I can only give it 3 stars because the opening times/hours are so sporadic! They are supposed to close at 8:30pm, I arrived and 19:51 and the chippy was already shut up, all light off and the staff cleaning up. Also on a Saturday, we decided to have chippy tea, but at 18:57 when we drove down, again they were shut up with the lights off and staff cleaning, I just can't work out why they aould finish early all the time and not change their opening times, as things like that make me not want to use this takeaway and go to another fish and chip shop that I know will more likely be open!

I have just been into your shop to buy a fish in breadcrumbs and a pot of peas. There was very little fish inside the breadcrumbs and the little that was was just like eating a piece of rubber! I will not be visiting again.Very disappointed.

I would have usually give 5 stars.. but the last two times ive been.. the chips look as if they have been dunked in the oil and pulled out again. No colour and hard..will be the last time i use this chippie

I have bean to this chip shop twice and yes the food is just as standard as any other chippy,and yes I was very disappointed with the customer service I received. As a paying customer I work up and down the UK and eat in many eastablishmemts, the service I received was not only just not acceptable but was disgusting as I was not a local I had bean in the shop more than 10 minutes and didn't even get acknowledged. 2 other customers who clearly was locals received very excellent service. As a customer I noticed this and voiced it to the staff where then they got extremely abusive and had arrogant behaviour towardsthe situation. I will never eat in this eastablishmemt again and will advise everyon to avoid this place as your custom isint appreciated and would rather support a business who takes pride in all there customers

This is joint number 1 chippy alongside High lane , it's kept its roots in what they do best,Fish n chips , very rare I eat every thing ,but I know it's pukka because cheap oil repeats on me,,There's alongside High lane does not .Dead friendly ,they know Thier locals , card payment is available too ,

I've not been to Stoke for so long. Not been able to fly into the UK from Germany for 20 months.. and a few years before that I used to work there regularly. I always stayed in Endon or Leek.. and a compulsory stop on the A53 was this brilliant chippy.... great food, friendly staff and good prices. Loved it. I am glad to see it's still thriving. Best wishes ..I hope I will be able to get back one day.

Not the best chips shop meal I've ever had.. chips were rushed so half of the bigger chips were still hard and the sausage tasted like pork scratchings!! Not for me thanks, didn't eat it went in bin

Fantastic chippy best in Stoke....Place orders regularly and never had a bad meal no matter what I've ordered..the server's are always smiling and welcoming... Try here you won't be disappointed.

The staff were nice and friendly. The fish was big, golden and delicious. The chips were also delicious. They also use paper bags to put your food in so it's better for the environment. I will definitely go there again.

Iv just been to Yorkshire fisheries and what can i say the staff were absolutely brilliant im very fussy and they did everything to my liking were very polite the place was spotlessly clean..and the food was fantastic i definitely will be returning...thankyou

Food was nice, however customer service was terrible, I had 2 staff asking for my order at once and not one of them listened the first or second time. I had to repeat my order numerous times. The whole experience was awkward as the lad who was serving me kept rolling his eyes and did not smile once. At one point the lad made a mistake with an order and the woman was rolling her eyes at him and huffing which made me feel very uncomfortable.

Best fish and chips I've had anywhere the batter is always perfect especially on the battered sausages and the curry sauce is so much nicer than any other chippy I've been around here. Delivery is always fast and food is always well packaged can't recommend this place highly enough.

The batter on the sausage was dark and soggy. The chips were also dirty. Change your oil! Lastly, I don’t know what brand of ketchup and Mayo you use but they were absolutely disgusting! That Mayo was genuinely the worst tasting sauce ever...what the hell was it??!! Stop cutting corners and use Heinz and hellmanns. And CHANGE YOUR OIL!

Wow just ordered from this chippy for the first time off deliveroo and omg the best fish and chips I've had for a long time and the battered sausage was also perfect for my liking much better than other places in the area. Curry sauce and mushy peas were also very tasty. The portion was big too and in hindsight we could've shared one portion of fish and chips as we couldn't eat it all having one each but it was very good quality and I will definitely recommend and will be ordering from there again.
