Really slow service and horrible fatty and chewy bacon sandwich which they described as crispy bacon. Bit of a trade description issue. First time visit but would definitely avoid in the future. Total waste of money.

Visited this afternoon for the first time & it will definitely be the last. Young serving staff were pleasant & efficient however the older lady who took our second order was rude & could do with some Customer Service training asap!

Sausage sandwich very anaemic looking. Staff were friendly. Cutlery had bits of food on. Certificates on wall showing 5 star cleanliness rating. This needs to be checked.

The breakfast was really disappointing, the pancakes that I ordered were as hard as bricks and inedible, couldn’t even cut through them with a knife. Don’t waste your money in here!!

The coffee is great at this coffee shop but the staff need a rocket up them. They take ages to serve you and then when you do get served it takes ages for your order to arrive. Last visit we were waiting a good 15 minutes for our coffee when a couple of girls that ordered in front of us got served first. When I questioned it our coffees had been sitting on the bench and no one has shouted our name, we received no apology and the coffee was cold, terrible service.

Went for pancakes and waffles. Not as good as their competitor further along the beach but they were tasty. Good location and yeah, as my title says, a good addition to the seafront.

We visit for brunch about 3 times a month, as a family of four for panckackes and soft drinks. On this occasion we sat outside, and I asked for a cup of tea to accompany my pancakes... ( maybe this part was my fault as I didn't say I just wanted a little bit milk. I presumed it would have been served in a little jug so you could help yourself like it is inside.. It came in a cardboard cup with milk, and lots of it already added.. I went up to the counter to ask for an extra teabag, as my tea had too much milk in it... I was told if they gave me a teabag I would have to pay full price for another cup of tea!!!!! I was quite happy to pay £50p a tebag... No way was I paying for a whole new cup of tea. Nice food, but I hate feeling ripped off... So we won't be back.

I should of had the breakfast as per the previous reviews. The coffee was really nice also!!! I ordered the Croque Monsieur. Described as smoked ham, cheese and Dijon Mustard, side salad and onion chutney. No mention of Bechemel Sauce. But! I still continued to order as it sounded like what I wanted anyway. After 10 minutes or so my Croque Monsieur is presented to me as a Cheese and Ham toastie! Alarm bells are ringing! I wanted a Croque Monsieur. Well what I actually got was an English Mustard (not Dijon mustard) toastie! There was Ham and Cheese in there. I could see it but unfortunately the amount of English mustard on the bread made it really inedible. The rocket leaves of the side salad were bright yellow and clearly past there best!!! I do wish I had the breakfast as they looked excellent…..

Called in with my wife Christine after a couple hours of walking along the sea front at Seaburn, decided to call in and we both decided on the big breakfast. Came after only a few minutes, piping hot bacon, beans, grilled tomato, sausage, mushrooms, black pudding ,fried eggs, hash browns and 2 rounds of toast. Service fast and efficient and staff friendly and polite.Would of scored full marks but all 4 fried eggs not 1 runny yolk !

Served quickly and piping hot. It was very reasonably priced too. It was our preferred option to any grand hotels in the area.

Best breakfast in town, only suggestion would be to add black pudding as an optional extra, other than that...perfect!

I’ve stopped off here 4 times now halfway through my walk. Super polite and friendly staff and do a great Americano coffee, only £1.50 too. Haven’t tried the food but plenty of people ordering. Give it a go they deserve it.

I'm a frequent customer and generally the food is ok BUT seriously the chips are disgraceful, do you use left overs from lunch rime and reheat them ??. The last few batches I have are all dog ends, sharp and chewy just vile

Unfortunately the bar service here has deteriorated massively. It must be costing the company a fortune. Had my friends not already ordered I would have left. Behind the bar were a number of staff but only 2 were serving customers at the bar. The remaining staff were all working at the bottom of the bar dealing with app orders. It's a very long bar and with only 2 staff working it they did not know who was next. People would walk up to the bar long after you'd stood there , and be served. I would have used the app myself but couldn't get a signal in the bar. Unfortunately the 2 staff serving were also extremely slow, despite there not being much of a queue. We waited ages to get served when there wasn't many people waiting, so on a busy night I wouldn't even bother. If you don't have the app or it's not working properly I'd give this bar a miss. It looked like a lot of other people felt the same as this once busy bar was noticeably quiet for a weekend night. Whoever is in charge of the bar needs to sort out proper training for the staff. I've never experienced service as bad as this in any other wetherspoons I've been in. If at all possible, use the app or you'll lose the will, watching other customers stroll to the bar while you wait, wait then wait some more

On a dog walk my friend and I decided to stop for a drink. I was impressed that there were plant based milks available. My dog was happy as he had a sausage. My hot chocolate (with oat milk) was nice and I enjoyed the view. The place is ideal if you’re near the beach and want to sit with a cuppa.

This was a first time order for a special anniversary. We were meant to be going out but I wasn't feeling too good (I have Fibromyalgia) so we decided to order a posh meal instead of the usual takeaway fare. The Bruschetta starter tasted strongly of basil and had melted cheese overpowering the tomatoes. I have never had Bruschetta cooked like that and I've eaten in many Italian restaurants including real ones in Venice and Rome. It's usually small diced tomatoes mixed with diced red onion, extra virgin olice oil and basil. Sometimes there will be a little drizzle of balsamic. I couldn't even detect the garlic rubbed on the bread. The tomato was whacking great chunks which had turned to mush under the huge smothering of cheese. The salad garnish was nice at least. My husband enjoyed his Smothered Potato Skins but did comment on the very large portion! Not a bad thing, I know lol. The mains - My steak was cooked to perfection (not lean though, as promised on the menu - I cut off quite a chunk of gristly fat) and the chips were to die for. However, the Diane sauce just tasted of cream - the mushrooms had no flavour and there was absolutely no hint of Brandy at all. It was very disappointing. My husband didn't enjoy his Chicken Parmo as he felt that there was far too much cheese and that's all he could taste. The Sticky Toffee puddings were amazing though - generous and moist with a lovely toffee soaked airy texture. The portion of cream that accompanied mine was laughable, however. It was the size of a dip pot and quickly soaked into the pudding so was undetectable anyway. I had to add ice cream from my own freezer to enjoy it. My hubby had custard with his - wish I'd had the same. Service was good and on time, everything was packed well and portions were very generous (apart from the cream, lol!) Based on everything not having much flavour though, and the weird starter, I don't think I'd order again. It's a real shame as it did put a dampener on what should have been a perfect evening. I really wished we'd gone out instead.
