Yo sushi has some of the best Japanese and Korean foods I have ever tried. I’ve been here 10+ times and I’ve never stopped loving it, from the new modern architecture to the amazing food, there isn’t anything wrong. There is also many vegetarian options to choose from.

A huge thank you to Natalia for her outstanding customer service when seating Lee and I. We are regular customers and are always treated so kindly when stopping for a bite to eat. The team are very alert and quick to notice if you need help. As always the food is tasty and delicious, I would recommend the Popcorn Shrimp! Sounds good right? ⚠️⚠️⚠️ My wife arrives with our 10yo and asks them “ is it correct that kids eat free ? “ “ yes madam, as long as as an adult you spend more than £10 kids eat free, sit anywhere you like “ So my wife and son enjoy a lovely lunch supervised by the person whom she asked. On payment “ that’ll be £60 pls “ “ but you said kids eat free so how come it’s that much? “ “ oooh that’s only off of the kids menu” “ but I asked you and you didn’t mention that or give me the kids menu, just sat us when I clearly asked you about kids eating free? “ Manager comes over…. And situation explained…. “ well madam , it’s not our responsibility to inform you of the terms and conditions, it’s up to you to read them on our website” “ are you kidding, I just asked your man here about the kids and he didn’t even give us the menu” “ well it’s not our responsibility, you can go into the website and read terms and conditions “ Absolutely farsical, disgraceful management of the situation, who goes to a restaurant and reads terms and conditions on website first. Clearly asked the employee, who clearly served them NOT from the kids menu even tho they were asked about the kids eating free. Absurd, be careful on these summer deals, the devil is in the detail and they won’t necessarily advise you of these details.

June 2024 UPDATE Yo Sushi (aka Yo!) have relocated to one of the commercial retails shop units within Bluewater - I visited yesterday with my adult son - as we entered to new restaurant a staff member Antonio rudely instructed saying ’wait at the sign’ in a stiff tone as he pointed to a sign that was impossible for us to see from the angle we entered at. He seriously nearly made me just walk away - unfortunately he has zero skill in customer service and clearly does not know how to make customers feel welcome nor does he have any skills or ability in customer service. So I bit my lip and went to the waiting position. We were greeted by Lucy (who served us previously at the location before this one). She smiled and was super friendly (the polar opposite to Oh No Antonio). She was helpful and attentive and I give her 10/10 for customer service. One small gripe was that we asked for cold drinks half way through the meal and these were slow in arriving - after a while I stood up and walked to the drinks area where I found Lucy arriving back there with a bucket of ice. When I questioned where our drinks were, she spoke to Antonio saying ‘ Why didn’t you take their drinks over Antonio?’ So Oh Dear Antonio created the second bad experience for us at the restaurant. So the food was good (8/10) and as we finished our meal Antonio approached (which I found odd because Lucy had been serving us) and asked in a stern unfriendly tone ‘can I get you anything ‘ and when we said no thanks he said - ‘the soups are free’. The soups are not free but you can have as many refills as you want that I knew already having been to Yo! multiple times previously. So strike 3 for Antonio for an unfriendly poorly thought through engagement with customers - I give Antonio 1/10 for showing up to work. I have run my own business and staff are everything for a business because without them you have no business. In fairness I would recommend a comprehensive training course for Antonio to give him a chance ( if it was my business however I would relieve him of his position - he just seemed hacked off with the world like he did not want to be there). THE REST of the review that follows is an older historic experience……. I have visited this restaurant many times and restaurants management has changed recently and it is very good indeed. I recommend highly the salt and chilli squid that is fresh lightly battered squid pieces fried and topped with chopped fresh red chilli and fresh chopped spring onions - it’s delicious. I also highly recommend the Katsu curry dishes - there is chicken, prawn or pumpkin katsu curry options - I tend to go for the chicken and thus is a piece of chicken flattened then breadcrumbs and fried then served on top of rice in a bowl with a dollop of curry sauce - it is topped with Japanese pickles if you order the larger bowl - I love that dish. A notable accompaniment is the pink pickled ginger and the wasabi paste. The pickled ginger and wasabi paste are traditional accompaniments to Japanese food and the wasabi has a spicy kick very similar in intensity to strong English mustard while the ginger has a very sweet taste with the heat of the ginger in the background. I also suggest ordering a miso soup as this is also traditional and helps wash everything down - this is refillable and you only pay once so it’s good value. You should try a couple of the street food dishes such as the Korean fried chicken and the Japanese fried chicken - these are very tasty. Every single staff member we interacted with were professional polite and very well trained and the manager was excellent dealing with one small gripe that he resolved promptly efficiently and very fairly in a professional manner. Full layout and user friendly design this is one of the best YO! Sushi’s you can visit. If you find this review helpful please consider following me - I will follow you back 😀 thank you.

On approach to the restaurant, my partner and her son walked into the restaurant to find a seat, I was approached by a member of staff since found out the manager. She said can’t you see the sign to wait and be seated?. I said no show me the sign from the direction I walked from……… no sign!, I said to her you are very rude, she said can’t you read English, I replied I am English and then she insulted my wife saying I should choose an English partner and refused to serve us when we had travelled from some distance to eat, avoid this establishment!, they need to learn some manners

Had an amazing meal with my sister yesterday evening. Food was incredible other than the fact the ginger has changed from pink to golden yellow and was very bitter! Although veryyyyyy short staffed, Natalia the blonde waitress could not have done more for us. Got us everything we wanted more sauce more lemon more ice water …. She was friendly and positive and did not stop!!!!!! (Also a lovely male waiter - did not manage to get his name but he was black wearing a blue sweater) - thank you both!!!!

We first visited Yo when it first opened, more than 20 years ago. Since then during our regular visits it has just gone down in quality, value for money and ambience, but we chose to visit it since its move to another site and this time, there is no going back. It is horrendous! Overly busy, with people crushed together on long tables, a lot of mainly rice based inferior mediocre dishes on the conveyor belts. The pickled ginger is now an inferior brand, reduced in size to less than a tablespoon and no wasabi. The noise is ear-splitting, appalling acoustics caused mainly by a screeching pop cacophony thumping over customers' voices and the excruciating noise from the scraping of uncomfortable wooden chairs on an unforgiving floor. The dishes are now even smaller, the sashimi no longer acceptable, with limp salmon, and what seemed like very unfresh tuna dried to an almost leather texture. Unbelieveably bad all round. RIP Yo Sushi!

In my mind Yo Sushi was a 3.5, and we sat there today expecting a very average sushi experience. We had to wait a bit before being seated and while we were waiting the sweet manager kept us informed and briefly chatted to us making us feel welcomed. But then, we got to be served by the very amazing Ben! Nothing was too much trouble and he took all our extra requests on board with great grace and a lovely smile. He was prompt and attentive and polite, making us wish we had some cash with us to tip him specially. Thank you Ben!! Great to see young people taking pride in their work and doing their best at all times! The food was great too, especially the spicier sushis.

We visited last night. Welcoming staff and host were so friendly and engaging. Such a huge choice to enjoy, we tried a few new dishes to share alongside the katsu curry, which was lovely. The only thing that was noticeable was the music they had on as it was far too loud as background music, and my partner had trouble hearing. Hopefully, when we go back, it'll be a tad quieter. Second visit. I signed up the first time to receive emails and had a voucher for my birthday. I planned to use it for this visit. We asked for particular seating in the booking due to access and social considerations of guests. Presentation of food was just a little less careful than last time. Last time everything matched the images on the online order system, I put that down to only have two preparing the food. Staff were helpful and prompt with the help button for miso soup refills and questions. Very easy to pay. The food was amazing. Slight wait on hot food but this is due to its travel from the prep station in the back and to us, still hot though.

Came for a quick lunch on the basis of the deal advertised (3 dishes for £9.99) Me and my partner felt this was not advertised well as it was only once per table, which we hadn't realised and would have gone elsewhere had it been clearer. What's more is the offer is difficult to attain as it cannot be applied to any orders through the app which you are initially directed to + is from a specific selection of dishes which is not easy or obvious to find the menu to. The app is annoying and some dishes are hard to find among the categories or just not there at all. Food was average, the best pieces were the inari pockets but the ramen and yakisoba were bland. Food service was quick and the selection on the conveyor was good. But Overall just not worth it for the price.

I don’t normally write bad reviews, but this has to be the worst place I have eaten at for a very long time, perhaps ever. I used to come here regularly but don’t know what happened. The miso soup was terrible - just hot water and spring onion, with a microscopic amount of miso. The Korean chicken salad was mind-blowingly salty with no kimchi in evidence. The salmon sashimi was catastrophically bad - tasteless mush, almost definitely from frozen. And the “ramen” - surely a crime against ramen - was just plain weird. Somebody decided to add every flavour known to man into the broth, let it cool down to room temperature and then bung an overcooked egg and noodles in. Please hire some Asian chefs and get back to basics. I can’t believe they even got miso soup wrong 😅.

Plenty of food going round and it all looked amazing. Ordered some other food as well as the self service and it was all very tasty. Service was great, particularly for a weekend lunchtime.

Stop adding tips on with asking me first! Really don't know why you're adding this on especially when I pick my own food off the belt what are the staff doing for me other than seating me (eventually) and bringing over a drink that I have ordered myself on my phone? Stop it.

At no point did they say that it was card payment only. Well not until you have to pay. So just be aware before you go, card only.

So this Yo is one of our favourite places to visit when we shop at Blue water. The food is always delicious, with so much choice and lots of new dishes to try. Glad that the rotating food is back, it always nice to look at the yummy food as it goes around. But the actual best thing about this Yo is the Manageress!! She is so hardworking, running around - sometimes by herself, looking after everyone, always smiling and so lovely to chat too, constantly making sure we have everything we need and warming up my husbands Saki. Sometimes we visit there just to see her! Haha! Looking forward to visiting again soon.
