I'm so disappointed... I came yo Nottingham for a day out from Leicester. I've never been to Yo sushi, yet our whole family loves SUSHI! We had a table reserved for 2 pm, but they were very busy and finally got sat down... they had an offer where the kids would eat free, so I thought it won't cost more than £50.. I was wrong... Not only did the bill come up to 70 quid for me and the husband, but the portions were horrendously small... very disappointed for a first experience at Yo Sushi My hubby had told them it was a birthday celebration that day. The lady told him he could choose something off the menu and it would be on the house. We got charged for it and got told that they only do mochis, so staff were not clear or attentive enough with their communication. Don't bother going with the family. They will rip you off!!! I'm sure we got charged for the kids boxes too with what we were charged...

The food is good! The waiters weren’t very helpful, and also said the kids pancake were sold out to pick something else from the belt just to make more expensive. Never brought the kid drink , expecting we forget It because we order also another drink for my daughter. The half term week was kids eat free, this was said by the waiter when we sat down , if we spent more than £10 which easily did , place is expensive. At payment , I had again to remember her , that the kids was free even though she was the one who told us when we sat down, anything to make the bill higher for the service charge ,which I considered not to pay, but instead I paid it but not coming back

Food is decent. Service tanks if the place is even slightly busy. Far too easy to spend far too much money. The mini dishes on the belt are too easy to stack up. We were careful and still managed to spend £77 for two people. The mother/son opposite us had 2-3 times the dishes we had, I dread to think what they spent. The quality is not good enough nor the portion size big enough to justify those prices.

Arrived into the shop and couldn't get in due to lots of people waiting to be seen to a table. Then stood inside for ~10 mins waiting to be seen, this was despite the restrant being half empty. Then just to be told that due to a fault there was no hot food available. Could have put a sign on the door or something. The belt also looked pretty empty. In the end went to sushi yoka 5 minutes away and it was lovely.

Waiting staff were nice, we arrived and waited whilst they cleaned a space for us. We then had to wait about 15 minutes for someone to take our food and drinks orders, drinks came out after about 5 minutes. Food was average but could see it was just being chucked together quickly. There were only 2 kitchen staff and 2 waiting staff on for a busy day between Christmas and New Year. There was very little food actually on the belt so we ordered about 5 dishes from the menu, 3 came out after about 15 /20 minutes and we cancelled the last two (one being just the fries) as we were waiting so long. Whilst the waiting staff were nice and friendly, they never actually apologised to us for the slow service. We left feeling disappointed, unsatisfied and £60 lighter!!

Lovely friendly faces in Yo! But it seems that the kitchen needs a team leader. The man on the pans was doing such a good job cooking (all by himself) I didn’t appreciate the server calling over to him asking where my food is, it’s ok I know he’s busy on his own. Three other kitchen staff seemed to be making sushi when they could have been helping out. There definitely needs to be someone delegating in the kitchen. Food was ok but definitely needs more love and attention or a much lower price.

Visited tonight for the first time in probably a couple of years and was looking forward to enjoying some lovely food and atmosphere we've come to expect at Yo! Unfortunately, they were short staffed so there was no food on the belt and items had to be ordered to the table instead. Not the end of the world; the waitress was friendly enough and helpful in explaining how to order, and our food and drink order was taken quickly. What really let down our evening was the state of the restaurant. The floor throughout the restaurant was filthy and greasy to walk on. The kitchen floor and cupboards, which were directly visible from our table, were disgusting. There was food and used tissue etc all over the floor, and on several occasions I witnessed a member of kitchen staff preparing food, wiping his hands on his trousers or top before then handling the next piece of food... not very hygienic! Some of the sushi platter we ordered had a small piece of cellophane around them when they were brought out, which we had to pick off before we could eat it! After eating, we waited a good 10 minutes just trying to get the attention of a staff member to get our bill at which point they asked if we wanted to keep the optional tip on the bill. Overall, I'm saddened by the experience at Yo! today and don't think we'll be in a rush to go back.

Sushi never seems to be on the belts anymore which as this is the gimmick of Yo seems pointless coming here when you can actually order off a menu at a nice sushi place. Just desserts out and the waitresses will need to be asked atleast 3 times before coming over to even take an order for a glass of water

My first experience at Yo! Sushi. I only came because I saw they were doing pizza Baos and I wanted to try them. I bought all the Konbini menu to try out. That's where the disappointment started. I waited 30mins for them, and was late back to work. There were fruit flies flying around where I sat, which unfortunately was around one of the food prep stations. I had to eat at my desk and the food was not worth it at all. For £5.50 a bao, I was expecting something bigger, but I would have forgiven them if it tasted good. The bao, despite the staff continuously telling me 'it takes a while to steam' was not good at all. If they called it dough balls, I would at least except they were doughy. These were not fluffy white baos at all. There are better places to eat, especially since they set the bar low for me. At the very least the staff seemed sorry for the wait.

I went here for lunch with my boyfriend on a Sunday. It was pretty quiet, and I hadn't been for years so was excited to go again. The experience we had was actually really disappointing and I'm not usually one to complain (I've never left a Google review for a restaurant). The food was in most cases terrible. Even the miso soup was the worst I've ever had - barely salty, just water basically. It used to be much better. The veggie yakisoba was so oily and tasteless. We had the seaweed pickled salad and I used to enjoy it, this time it tasted really bad. Not sure how to even describe it, I couldn't eat it, it made me feel genuinely sick. The service was also really bad. We had a total of 7 mistakes that we had to correct them on. We had to ask for water twice before we actually got any. One of our dishes never arrived. The wrong yakisoba was given to me and so I had to wait a while for the correct one. They tried to give us two deserts when we only ordered one. The apple gyoza is supposed to come with caramel, it did not. Now comes to the prices.. We really did not eat much at all, we weren't even full and the cost was astronomical for two people. We have eaten at some amazing places in Nottingham for much cheaper and with better service. This was nearly £70 and I'm being serious when I say we didn't eat very much and only had 1 soft drink each. They also didn't note that the service charge is optional - glad I asked. I used to work as a waitress, so normally I am happy to tip and very forgiving and never want to be a complainer, but that's how bad this was. This price felt really shocking and insulting due to the quality of the food, the value and the service. For better food and prices, I recommend Bonsai or baresca both very nearby. Trust me, it's not worth it and we were very disappointed. Not one thing would make me want to go back.

First, let's talk about the quality of the food. After reading others' reviews, they were truly correct! The seasoning is very ordinary; they just casually added some chili, mayo, or some sesame, showing no real effort at all! The menu photos look beautiful, but the sushi on the conveyor belt is a complete mess and very not fresh… its really disappointing! Now, about the service. After asking for the bill, the server forgot and went to drink water, then took orders from others, and attended to new customers… it’s really very frustrating. Really a waste of money.

Food was good, but shocking experience, it was my partners birthday and we believed we were kindly gifted a bottle of prosecco by one of the staff members Sheila, it was to our discovery it was secretly added to the bill. More importantly, they didnt even give us a receipt initially, just told us the bill was £200, when we asked for it, they panicked. To think they could get away with it is beyond me. You DO NOT accidentally add a bottle of prosecco to the bill, it was done deliberately. Im worried they have done this to customers before. They also didnt issue an immediate refund, said it would hit the bank on Monday, but didnt need our card to issue the refund, it was done "automatically". We will definitely not be returning and i will ensure this gets escalated

I came here with my partner for dinner We sat in front of one of the conveyor belts. The waiter explained to us how the ordering works, sadly the app did not work. The squeaky bean hoisin 'duck' which was vegan noodles was very good. We ordered food from the menu and could also choose what was going past the belt.

Waiting staff were very inattentive, and mistook our order for x2 salmon sets by delivering x1 to my friend, with only x4 other customers inside. As a result I’d wait due to a fair mistake, however by the time I received my food my friend had finished and 30 mins had gone by. There was no immediate communication from the waiter to the two chefs in the centre cooking as they looked too occupied making prep, or talking about how their other teaching job was going, or receiving pizza over the counter from presumedly a friend or colleague, or distracted by management talking about sales, or asking if someone was hungry from the counter through the shop window. What you can’t see won’t hurt you, but in a place where the food is prepared in front you’d expect a better service and professionalism - regardless of low end or high end food. Shame.

Ordered the sushi sesh set for delivery, some of the worst sushi I've ever had. The maki was 90% overcooked rice with a tiny slice of salmon in the middle, and the salmon sashimi was chewy aswell. Rating 2 stars because the price was reasonable for a meal set, but it was still unfortunately very disappointing and was not sealed properly so some of the sushi fell out during delivery.

Ordered food delivery from here, took an hour and a half before anyone even went to pick it up so I rang and it had been waiting there for over an hour because no one told the driver it was ready. Edit: The food has now arrived. They sent food that was sat out for an hour and is inedible. The mochi is melted completely. I feel sorry the the guy working there because he was genuinely nice and was by himself, which seems to be a running issue with this company.

Terrible experience. There was only one waitress during a lunch time, she was not attentive at all. Gave me and my boyfriend 20 minutes to look at the menu, before telling us there was no salmon due to delivery issues. Should've told us when you sat us down! Then had to wait another 10 minutes to reorder but I ended up walking over to her since it was getting ridiculous. Food was scrumptious though :)

Visited Yo Sushi on Saturday and even though it was busy the staff were still very attentive and friendly! We got chatting to the chef Brendan while he was making our food and he had such great customer service, giving really good menu suggestions and serving us with a smile. No request was too much of a bother for him and he really went the extra mile to make our experience a positive one even though he was busy with orders which as a customer is just great to see! Worst service I have had at Yo Sushi from waiting staff. Had to resort to getting my own drinks from the fridge, and had to go into the washing area to ask if I could order food. A shame as the food was really nice, and the chefs were more friendly than the waiting staff. Dark haired lady "served" us on 2.3.24, when we said it had taken ages to get her attention a generic " oh sorry guys" was the reply. Won't be returning for the service or no sh#ts given attitude.

Worst service of any Yo!... 7 people in the restaurant at lunchtime and 4 members of staff, yet they were not attentive at all (more interested in chatting to each other). After having to call them each time (no buzzer and no one came around to ask), food service was slow and incorrect. 35 minutes for a food order (luckily the conveyor was working with s few items too) and 25 minutes from ordering dessert to receiving it!

Visited today with my daughter and two grandchildren. The service was very poor. Had to wait for 20 minutes before some one took my drink order then 20 minutes to get the drink. No soft drinks available for my grandchildren that were not carbonated. Told we had to wait for 30 minutes for children’s meals. Very disappointing for a Friday lunchtime. This used to be a favourite restaurant to visit in Nottingham but think we will give it a miss in future.

Food not very good. We had a reservation for 4 adults and 2 children at 7:15 p.m. and they brought only one dish of the entire meal within an hour of waiting... For the rest of the dishes that we had ordered from the menu, we had to wait a total of 1 hour and a half. And we didn't all eat since they gave us the dishes one at a time. The ramen was very spicy and the tuna tartar was not specified, it was not a tartar, just cut pieces of tuna. In general we were not happy.

My fave place to go with my friend - been going frequently since 2017 (when I moved here, and a few times before that - when visiting it). Great vibes and staff and food and seating booths, and the stool seating isn't too bad as far as stools go. Tons of Vegan options, friendly, helpful staff, fun to talk to if you stay there on your own for a bit after your friend needs to go. Just an all round good place to be!

The worst yo shushi experience, shame as this was a family christmas treat for us which was unfortunately disapointing. Flies around the table, We received two dishes and after quite a wait, enquired where the rest was. By this tike the first person was already finishing off their food so we didnt eat together. Also when we asked for the rest of the food there was no customer service just a few questtions and then 'I'll prepare it' it wasnt even busy at this point. Glasses looked as though they had been washed with dirty water. The toilets just topped it off as they where dingy, foul, smelt awful and light in cubicle didnt even work' our 6 year old commented on how hprrid the goilets were.

Ordered food from them today and what we received was a joke. Dry sushi that came without chopsticks and any soy sauce/wasabi/ginger, plus the popcorn we ordered for desert came with 3/4 of the box empty and just a handful of popcorn inside. Never again.

Different colour of plate means different price and different sort of sushi. A member of staff explained me that and left with menu card. Food really tasty but too expensive.

I came here a few years back, and was amazing and loved it. Went there again today expecting to have a nice treat, and its not the great place it once was, wasabi pots, had no wasabi in it and was old, dried crusty wasabi, food was actually really good, however we were given dirty glasses to drink out of, they had white water spots on them. Such a pity, as we travelled an hour and half on the bus, just for this restaurant, counter tops at the conveyor were filthy as well.

One of our friend pratik suggested yo sushi because he works there and oh god the food is really amazing and fresh the quality and quantity was great chef Brendan, Sheila and Stanley were very polite and suggest us other dishes, which again was so tasty. Tyne was so friendly and helpful.

Well very disappointing to be honest! The food was not very good portions at All, the chips we got about 10 (no joke) and I said that is a joke but they did change them and fill the bowl the second time! The squid is very very very poor, tiny amount of it and tasted like nothing! Beef teriyaki was ok’ish but I expected more! I will not go there again!

Don't go there! If you respect yourself, your palate and taste buds, and your wallet. Everything tastes the same, super expensive for the quality of food. All served salmon is frozen, and the staff don't hide it. We asked for a fork, the waitress brought it holding it from the head end. We expressed our disappointment with the food and the other waitress couldn't care less and proceeded to issue the bill. There are far better venues in Nottingham to enjoy proper sushi for far less.

We were regulars before the pandemic. Now the service is non existent & the price of the food is ridiculous. A 9 year old, 11 year old & two adults £165!! Drinks one Diet Coke & one juice. All other drinks were water. My wife had one bowl chicken wings with 2 wings &one bowl edamame beans , so me & the two little ones had the rest !!! I had to ask the lady to double check the bill. Ordering with the app. What sort of service is that? What a shame. And then the icing on the cake!! We don’t take cash!! We won’t be returning

First time trying sushi and it was surprisingly amazing. The staff, Pratik and Sheela were so friendly and helped us choose the dishes according to our taste palette. Definitely recommend going to this place and have some crunchy prawns.

We love Yo and sushi. The food was good and we did have a good meal. I’m afraid some of the serving staff let the place down on 30th July. We were seated (pick a table and have a seat) and told to use the app to order - Having to ask for everything else like eating implements, soy and dishes. Our table wasn’t the cleanest and I wiped the chopsticks when we got them. Please don’t use the restaurant area to store boxes of supplies on window sills in the corner, it’s really messy. The door to the washing area was left open (if there is a door) and there were pots stacked everywhere - which is fine because of the function of the room but should not be on display to diners IMO. Overall, I’m afraid the place is looking a bit tired and felt unloved - it needs a really good clean and brightening up, which is bonkers given all the natural light :(

Changed a lot since the original days. We would go as a family every other weekend and now I sadly wouldn't return. - The main downfall for me is that you are required to order with your smartphone. A sad reflection of the times we live in. It detracts from the connection we used to get from eating together. Now we all disappear into our phones to share our data and our order. - Prices have gone up but everything else has gone down. - Removed the water taps on tables, as well as the ginger and wasabi. - Poor service even at 1730hrs when it is super quite. As we couldn't get service we went to fill up our own water in the kitchen.

The restaurant is bright and open, with a great atmosphere if you're dining solo. I visited on a work trip and felt really comfortable. Owen was brilliant, regularly asking if I wanted a top-up on my unlimited miso soup bowl, and being a pleasure to speak with.

The food was good, it looked like the pictures and there were many different dishes to choose from. The menu itself is quite big and it was hard to pick a dish without searching for a good 5 min before finding it already gone past. The service was great, all the staff were really friendly. The place was very quiet when we arrived but the store was clean and felt bright and happy. (The food conveyer belt was cool).

I was living in Nottingham in a shared house with 3 more people. Everything was good at the start but at some point the agent that was responsible for the house left and someone else took over. He was terrible. He caused so much anxiety to the tenants, he wasn’t replying fast enough to our queries even when we moved out, he was trying to charge tenants about damages they didn’t do, he charged rent to my flatmate that was changing from one room to another when he said to her no need to return the key from the previous room when she suggested it. The cherry on top was that he was turning off the heating every time he was showing the house to someone. And we had a lot of visits lately. Personally he caused me so much anxiety I was walking on eggshells and I couldn’t wait to move out so I don’t have to deal with him. I should have raised a complaint but I couldn’t deal with more stress. On a more positive note I got lucky and I got almost my full deposit back. The agent we had when I first moved in was great! I havent seen a better agent than her in my life.

Old and tired and everything seemed faded. Not sure what denomination it was focusing on. Vague and without staff. Not going to rush back but large enough stock to satisfy those looking for a few different things. Not terrible but not that great either. Bit like the purgatory material.
