Don't employ enough staff. Visited on a Sunday had to wait 20 mins to be seated despite lots of empty tables. Issue was with not enough staff. Food nice though.

I am so so disappointed with the service we received yesterday - the air con must’ve been broken as it was boiling and the staff were incredibly inattentive. We ended up walking out. Such a shame as YO! Is so yummy :( We went to Sticks and Sushi around the corner and had a much better experience.

My daughter (11yr) and I did the sushi school this evening. Silver was our patient, enthusiastic, fun teacher. We had such a great time learning and creating our own culinary masterpieces!!! It was a small group, we had plenty of time to ask questions and learnt how to make several types of sushi. We could eat as we made it but brought so much home to show the rest of the family. Would highly recommend this experience for all ages. Thank you for such a good evening.

Prices are disproportionately high considering how small and substanceless the portions are. I ordered the katsu and finished it in like 4 bites, the bowl was barely bigger than my hand. I really think they should be obligated to tell you how small the dishes are before ordering because you'd need to have like 3 dishes if you want a full portion. Food itself is nothing to write home about and atmosphere is kind of tacky. This restaurant is 1/5 from briangriffinfan#1

We had a wonderful Sushi School experience with Silver. I went with my 8 year old son. We were very well looked after, learnt so much and had a really good time. Thank you! We will be raving about the lesson and all the tons of sushi we took home

We had our first Bottomless Belt experience yesterday evening and it was amazing! Food was delicious, lots of choices and the servers were phenomenal; So helpful and nice, even though we spilled Coca-Cola all over our table (sorry again!). The only improvement I can think of is maybe a little bit more dessert plates the belt, towards the end our meal we only managed to get one portion of japanese pancakes before they dissappeared completely. Overall, we loved it and we will definitely be back for another Bottomless Belt!

My ramen was literally water and vegetables, my girlfriends cucumber salad nearly made her throw up, and the collective of about 5 tiny portions cost nearly £60. We both knew before even communicating it that we will never go to yo sushi again, genuinely the worst food I've ever eaten at a restaurant 😭

Bit of a mixed bag here. We arrived about 1hr 40mins before closing and were told it was takeout only. After asking a couple of clarifying questions, this was revised to okay. You can sit in, but order quickly. I wouldn't have thought much of it if a different family didn't arrive 10 minutes later and were happily led to a table and told they had half an hour for orders. I'm not sure why the change in tone. The ordering took a little while as they had a problem with the machines. Thankfully, the food was made in front of us and was decent. One of the staff members was particularly polite in explaining the issues they were having and making us welcome. Perhaps it was just a testament to the time of day, but all in all, it was good food, and the service could have been a little better.

A Japanese would die here. Absolutelly a dirty place. They have not cleaned the rolling bar since the opening Day. Chinese bar. Platea, everything dirty. They touch everything around and with the same hands touch your food ready to serve. Expensive for the quality they serve.

Very disappointing experience, soon as we walked inside the waitresses ignored us which meant we had to go up to them to get them to seat us. Purposely were ignored by some of the waitresses even when we called for them and gave direct eye contact. What happened to this Yo Sushi? It used to be one of my favourite places to eat, not only for the food but the service used to be great. All staff were unprofessional and it seems other diners feel the same looking at past reviews. As for the food, my avocado maki was very cold and the rice was mushy and soggy. Not quite sure how you can go wrong with a simple maki! Glasses, cutlery and soy sauce dish were dirty but I couldn’t even call someone over to change it because they were too busy wandering around the restaurant avoiding eye contact with customers. My husband and I were looking forward to our lunch here but we felt so disappointed that we doubt we would be returning. Management, you really need to have a good word with your staff.

This place is a complete mess. Stuff everywhere in view. It needs a good tidy up. The waitresses were unfriendly, bordering on hostile as soon as we walked in the door. It was very quiet but they made us wait unnecessarily for a table and we had to wait ages for our drinks. I will not be going back

Really disappointed. Used to be a regular customer but hadn't been for a few years. Was excited to try the updated menu, however, was very underwhelming. Drinks did not come until long after food and us having to remind them twice. Food was served with no utensils to eat it with, so it got cold while trying to get the waitresses attention (not sure why they removed the call buttons as that would have solved this issue quickly). Salt and pepper squid was overcooked, so was tough and chewy. The chicken karaage is not chicken karaage. Karaage should usually be chicken thigh marinated and then fried in potato starch to make it crispy. What was served was similar to a McDonald's chicken strip. The Yakatori was not cooked the way Yakatori should be, so was essentially just pieces of chicken on a stick with some sauce drizzled over. The katsu pumpkin was passable. The staff were nice, but hard to get their attention, even though the restaurant was practically empty. It's a shame as we had previously really enjoyed Yo Sushi. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll return.

We've enjoyed Yo! Sushi in the past but at Cambridge today they mostly had Mochi balls on the belt (lots of Mochi!) and edamame beans & cucumber, there were no maki rolls, sashimi, cali rolls, etc, if you wanted these they had to be ordered from the server, which takes away the novelty of choosing from the belt. Wish we'd eaten elsewhere.

Terrible service. Popped in today for lunch. We ordered the All Salmon Love Set. The manager told us it would take a little while as they were currently preparing the salmon. After 40 minutes I asked another waiter how long our food would be? Only to find out the kitchen had cancelled our order as they have no fish. Absolutely no fish. No one told us this at any time. If only they’d been honest and told us before we sat down. We should have twigged when we noticed the empty conveyor belts at 1pm. Such a shame, this used to be an excellent option for Sushi in Cambridge. Not anymore.

A Sushi restaurant without fish. This was our second visit here and unfortunately it will be our last. We were not warned that there was none going to be available, so we sat there over an hour watching a limited selection of dishes passing by, but mainly things that represented a bowl of coleslaw. We expressed our disappointment however there was only an apology. To that end we had a very expensive couple of small bowls of fries and some catsu chicken with rice. Yes the dishes were nice, however the main reason for going to a sushi restaurant was for some fish dishes! No offer of discounts or any incentive for us to return ever again. Unfortunately reading other reviews, afterwards it would appear this is not uncommon. This blatantly demonstrates that despite responses from the owner, the negativity is not taken on board and resolved, indicating that they don't really care.

The second time I have been to this particular Yo! Never again! We walked in waited for 10 mins to be seated…nothing! Not even an acknowledgment we had entered the building. Staff looked at us and said nothing, absolute joke. I find this behaviour of staff in chain restaurants to be typical especially at weekends. We walked out to find somewhere else. Terrible service and from my experience average food

Standard Yo Sushi. Went on weekend with my 8r old daughter, meal was decent though there wasn't much on the belt and the menu is limited. I've been here twice now and both times there's been almost no sushi on the belt at all or if there is, the weirdest (and most boring) selection possible. Is this normal?

No idea how this place is still open. Food is sad, not fresh. Conveyer belt items not topped up/old. Saw staff unwrap 'fresh' sushi from pre-prepped cling film and put onto the belt, just awful food. Stay well clear, better options now.

Absolutely dreadful. Only 4 tables of people on a Friday night. Took 20 mins to bring us water, 30 mins for our drinks and we had to ask for them as the staff didn’t check on the online order system. One staff member was just cleaning the whole time we were there. Service and getting food was also unacceptable slow. Took us at least 40 mins - hour to get our food and one dish didn’t even turn up. We even struggled to find someone to ask for the bill as it seemed no one was around and I have woken up this morning with an upset stomach from this food. The prices as well are ridiculously I paid for a few bits on a plate.

It was alright l, although I'd of thought things would be better now that stupid traffic light system has been scrapped. Unfortunately it wasn't really, not much choice at all on the conveyer. The cool 'call for service' buttons and lights have been removed, forcing you to scan a QR code which is all well and good, if the internet works, it's just a hassle as sometimes the site is glitchy. The free still and sparkling water taps have also been removed, you can now get a jug of tap water if you wish, ordering via that QR code, but it's not the same and the jug looked quite scratched up. You also now have to ask for Wasabi and ginger instead of it already being at the table like it used to be, weirdly this order feature isn't on the app/QR code site and you still have to ask a server anyway. Service was friendly, but slow. The sushi and sashimi it's self was very nice, however the chicken ramen tasted very much 'from frozen'. I used to love Yo! sushi but whatever choices have been made in the last few years, they've fallen off the 'wagon' a bit and I'm not sure if I'd return to any of them. As a final middle finger, despite having to order via a QR code and the service being friendly but minimal and as I mentioned very slow, the recepit showed a service bill of £7.50! Ridiculous!

Extremely disappointing meal. We wanted to come for a fun lunch with the children, but the conveyor belt was almost entirely empty and the service was glacially slow. We gave up in the end after a few average plates and went to a different restaurant. I feel bad giving the staff a poor review, but they couldn’t have cared less if they tried. I’m not expecting American levels of enthusiasm, but we were barely even acknowledged. I haven’t been to a Yo!Sushi in a few years, but if this is the norm, then I won’t be returning.

Sad news. Great atmosphere, but the food and prices are a bit disappointing ): I ordered a salmon and avocado hand-roll, it came on a plate with one side flat, almost like they gave me half of one. I also ordered a large yakisoba and they started cooking for me. The dish ended up coming as a regular instead. They took it back and changed it to a larger bowl but I never saw them cook for more before serving it back to me. Did I just get scammed?

What a disappointment. My wife's main course was so burnt all you could taste was burnt carbon, even the waiter commented that it looked very burnt. My main course was brought as the side version, despite ordering the main and them confirming we had ordered the main, the kids bento boxes....bland and so much oil in the rice barely any got eaten (edamame and cucumber sushi rolls were nice). The replacement chicken noodles was the blandest version ever. Came in at £30 ish after the kids eat free. It was genuinely awful. Skip, get sandwiches from Tesco next door or go somewhere else.

Went here thinking it was going to be the conveyor belt sushi experience, but was very disappointed. Had to order food via the app at your table which means minimal service even though that's added to your final bill. Some of the food you order comes round on the conveyor belt, but everything else is brought to you. It has changed so much since I last went and is very disappointing. The food is not worth what you pay. Avoid!

I used to love this place the foods always been great and it was simple to work. However the last time I went everything had changed entirely and they had a whole new system which was clearly difficult for both the customer and the workers to grasp because a lot of my food didn’t arrive and I kept having to ask where my food was . Go back to the only light system it worked so much better.

Neglectful and uninterested staff, dark, as if seated in a warehouse, and the portion sizes are absolutely pathetic. A platter for 2 is for £20 is about the same as a 3.00 box from Lidl. Except it’s delivered on a conveyor belt that stopped for 0.2 seconds as we tried to grab the food before it disappeared. Really disappointing to be honest.

Atmosphere fine and staff who served us very friendly. Portion sizes however ridiculously small. Crunchy prawn roll was cold in the middle. Rice not enough. Some rolls had pitiful avocado and some didn't get any at all. Rolls seem half the size they used to be ten years ago but triple the price. The katsu curry dish was the only fine dish. Ordered half of what we usually do, then went to Itsu for superior sushi at reasonable price. Yo asked me to send in review via email which I wrote then get to the end and it says review can't be sent. So here we are. I used to love yo sushi back in the day. Now I would choose any other sushi high street chains over it in a heartbeat.

Never again. I haven't been to Yo Sushi since pre-covid so one of the appeals is having a conveyor belt experience from a sushi bar, as that's no longer the case it's disappointing but understandable. What I can't forgive is poor value for money for what you get (my bill came to £45 for me and my 8 year old son, 2-3 plates each) and the poor service we experienced. As I said, never again, worst Japanese / Sushi experience in a long time, you're better off going to Sushimania.

It has been a while since I visited but my 7 year old seemed fascinated by the conveyor belt idea! I guess during covid Yo! Abandoned the pick what you like from the belt concept and went to app order only which is a shame. We were seated then abandoned, no plates, chopsticks, not even a napkin on the table or any staff to provide them. Ordering via app is a pain in the *** and you have to go through the payment process every time even when just wanting a drink! I don’t know what I would have done if my phones battery had died? The food itself was actually ok, expensive but ok. I did find it funny how you have unlimited misu but no contact with staff to provide it and ordering ginger and wasabi via an app? Why not just put it on the table ? I don’t think I will return because of the ordering process but that is just one of Cambridge branch’s problems, the main issue is the total lack of customer service. A waitress walking around in her slippers and just hiding unless a drink needs to be delivered and cooks that seem to find it impossible to smile, at one point one of the cooks complained that a seven year old boy sent a bottle of soy sauce along the conveyer belt! Esp as that’s the reason we went! If you have kids give this place a miss and if you want any sort of customer service give it a miss also. £100 can buy a great experience in cambridge that this place unfortunately can’t.

First time just trying out. They have a conveyor system for the food and you can watch your food getting cooked. Dishes themselves were very tasty. Looking forward to another visit.

Not much selection of actual sushi and felt very much like being in a fast food restaurant. Well, except for the prices! We left £45 for 2 of us... ouch! The food was ok but nothing I'd go back for. I'm sure I remember Yo Sushi being better than this.

Good quality of fish only one advantage. Also Dirty kitchen. I've seen cooks pick up trash from the floor and food with the same gloves. Side food comes after the main course, and because of that it's doesn't have a sence. And smell of oil around you.... Perfect...

It was a quick and last minute stop for a snack so we had no expectations. Order & pay via phone using a QR code, but that can be a hassle at a sushi bar, especially when each subsequent order is another payment transaction. Staff does seem overwhelmed, especially during the busier lunch rush.

We sat at the bar for a drink and need to praise Wes, he is an absolute star! I have never seen anyone work so hard to make all the fabulous cocktails 🍹 for all the many tables. Wes was working alone most of the time and dashed around making everyone else look like they were moving in slow motion. I am sure he gets missed tucked away behind the bar but if you ever visit for a meal remember to say a huge thank you to Wes

The design and layout is nice and is modern. My table and the restaurant as a whole was clean, apart from the toilets. There was no toilet paper and the seats were falling off the rim! It took 8 minutes from when I placed my order for all food to arrive - this is the fastest I have ever had food come in a restaurant! My spicy rice side bowl was half full but everything else was cooked to perfection. Would come back here. staff seem friendly, and the place is welcoming.

Absolutely shocking service. Food was tasteless. Ordered 4 meals one arrived. 30 minutes later the other 3 came after constantly asking where our food was. Staff made up excuses Not enough staff on massive que Staff not interested when they asked how the food was. Told them it was awful but they really didn't care. They were just asking a question.
