This was our first visit and we were really impressed. Staff were very friendly and went above and beyond for us. Lovely atmosphere, breakfasts were delicious and we had the choice of alternative breakfast items if we didnt like something that was offered and the cappucinos were so nice we ordered 2 each. We did have to wait awhile for things, but was worth the wait and we will be going back. Was so filling couldn't eat anything else all day. Was also lovely seeing the alpacas, donkey, chickens and goat. Only problem is it's not open weekends and unless I'm off work I'm unable to visit with working full time, but will go again when I'm off.

Was recommended this beautiful little cafe by a friend ...my husband was on his lunch hour and I suggested we go for tea and teacake ...we seen a table for 2 and asked to sit at it..we're unable to even though it was the only one left because we were told the wait for food was 45 mins..it was 12.10 so we were turned away cos my husband only had an hour for Lunch and we wouldn't have had time to drink the tea if it was a 45 min wait...came home disappointed can't try again cos lunch times too busy and if working unable to sample food with only an hour lunch ...need more tables and more staff ideally

Been a couple times. Never very impressed with food tbh. Atmosphere good but I had a sandwich and ordered chips as an extra. They obviously frozen and not fully cooked - pale and part frozen. Disgusting but didn’t want to offend friend who had invited me. Not cheap either. Mmmmmm

We visited a few weeks ago during the week for breakfast. Found service to be good and quick. My partner had tea which was nice and delighted with the crockery, very unusual, however my coffee was far too hot for a Americano, as if it had been warmed up in the microwave, Breakfast was good, I had the Breakfast Muffin and my partner had pancakes with fresh fruit, both delicious. The cafe was very relaxing and enjoyed watching the Alpacas on the farm. Toilets were very clean, definitely worth a visit again in the summer.

I have visited here many times in the past and all was ok. I Recently took my family for breakfast / brunch and experienced the most awful and downright rude customer service. The place is overpriced for what it is which is now looking tired and not so clean. Coffee was weak like water. Food shoved at you like your an inconvenience and then snatched away without asking if you have finished. The children put their cutlery down for a second ( no toddlers /kids cutlery offered either ) and plates picked up by rude older woman staff member who clearly needs importance of customer service training. When I asked her for something that was missing from my little grandsons breakfast she raised her eyebrows at me like I had asked for the crown jewels . This was meant to be a treat for my family and we were made to feel like we were in the way. We will never return to this awful place and will tell everyone else to avoid at all costs. I will be spending the money in future where its welcome and deserved.

First visit here . With cycling group. Good points. Looks very clean and inviting. Had beans on toast (dry toast as no dairy free spread) generous serving and tasted lovely. Not so good points Pot of tea very nice except Rather than give me my own pot I was expected to share with someone else in our group (of 12 people) he was sat at a different table and also preferred strong tea so wanted to squeeze the tea bag whereas I prefer mine weak. Also found the staff attitude far from good. Not one please or thank you while taking my order. If you hate your job that much get another one. Not in hospitality

I'm a wheelchair user and went to attend a wedding at the barn. The venue was accessible to me, but the staff were also incredible. They made me feel really welcome and unlike most service staff they realised I couldn't carry drinks and roll myself and they were very helpful without being asked (but also without being overbearing). We were outside during the canapés and they always remembered to come out and offer the tray round. When it got dark and we were once again outside, they came and turned on a light for us. It was just a really lovely place to be, and the staff made it so easy for me to enjoy my wonderful friends getting married without any concerns around disability and accessibility. Honestly best wedding I've ever been to.

Went for breakfast with my family for my daughters birthday Saturday 25th September we booked a tables but waited 20 minutes to be seen when the place wasn’t busy. Took a cake and asked for it to be brought over after breakfast lit with candles for the children we had with us to blow out. Items of our breakfast were missing the cake came over and was literally dumped on the table no candles. The service was disgusting and the front counter staff very rude and unprofessional I have been going there for years and it was a lovely place won’t be going again

On arrival looked promising, however led to a table that had not been wipes down . Covered in spilt drinks and crumbs. Felt like I was one of those awkward customers when I asked if table could be cleaned. No attempt to apologise. Traditional china tea cups, a nice touch had they been clean . They were not only chipped cracked and stained they were splattered in food debris . Asked for a clean cup and saucer , dirty ones weren't removed ,just left on table, a cleaner cup was brought over. Again no apology . Cutlery looked like it needed a wash, tea spoons were brown . Tea was served minus milk, when it did arrive milk jug had definitely seen better days , the inside had what looked like large patchy brown stains , closer inspection revealed that the brown stain was a thick soft layer of grease scraped of on your finger I couldn't believe it, just felt sick. Looking round the room the floors were in need of a good brushing, strewn with food , could see cobwebs in the corners . The whole place was in need of a good thorough cleaning. Food looked ok when it arrived , but by this time I just wanted to leave . Staff seemed oblivious.

Have been going here for quite a while now and have to say that I still really enjoy getting the time to visit for breakfast or lunch, or even just a coffee.I'd love to be giving this place a rating of 5, I really would, but after taking into account the last five or six visits or so, it's lost 1 for the following three things.Whether you're looking for breakfast, brunch or just a hot coffee or pot of tea, this place is lovely. I have to stress that something has had to happen on more than one occasion over the five or six visits for it to be mentioned here. One:I've never really had an issue with the food other than the black pudding. After receiving it under-cooked more than once I just don't get it anymore. Two:Both myself and people I have been with at the time have had to request replacement knives, forks and glasses due to them not being clean enough to use at the time. I used to run an 80 seat cafe a few years back so I know that sometimes things can slip through the cracks, especially when it comes to things such as lipstick, something which is designed not to come off easily. We kept on top of things by making sure the dishwasher filters were cleaned minimum twice a day and any cup/glass with lipstick on was scrubbed before dishwasher.Three:The price. Okay, a bit of a cheat as it's static and can't change from visit to visit. But the reason it's included is based upon the cost of breakfast/lunch compared to other places also serving nice food within a few miles radius. So it's price compared to amount. And unfortunately it feels like you should be getting more for what you pay.So, that being said, would I visit Yew Tree Coffee Barn again? Most definitely.Because when you factor in everything I still think it's well worth a visit to make up your own mind, because let's face it, everything I've mentioned is subjective and only to be taken as my personal experience.

Dropped in for a midweek, late lunch treat while out for a drive, firstly the building work was a bit unsightly but the interior looked nice, although a little dark. The coffee was fine, my t-bag was too small for a pot so it was weak and tasteless.I chose the lentil soup which was really lacking in flavour, watery and had a gritty, powdery texture, the roll was one of those half baked pre packed type you can buy in supermarkets and was soggy in the middle. My husbands chicken and bacon toasted sandwich was actually black at the edges (both preparer and server should never had allowed it to the table), tasteless bacon and dry chicken and disappointing. We should have sent both back but after wanting to get away that day from some high level stress, the pair of us tired and hungry, wanted a hassle/complaint free simple lunch. So we left not wanting to ever return. The food quality does not reflect the pricing.

Visited recently with friends from out of area for breakfast. Was so disappointed, food was ok but sausages and blackpudding both undercooked. The crockery, cups ands teapots were dirty inside and out and chipped. The tables were sticky as we're the menus. Noise from workmen was dreadful with drilling and banging throughout the visit. This use to be such a lovely cafe to visit for a quick coffee with friends or breakfast/lunch. After our recent visit I doubt I will be returning.

Frequently visit here but it’s slowly been getting worse each visit. Like most less favourable reviews on here, comments are the same based on my last visit that the place can feel abit unclean ie dirty glasses, sticky menus. The food can be undercooked ie sausages have no colour to them despite always asking for them to be well cooked knowing that they come out looking grey! Waiting staff can be hit and miss too. I really hope management listens to the feedback, as on a good day the food is great and it’s a lovely little venue, it just needs to get back to how it was

We visited Yew Tree Farm cafe for lunch. My daughter aged 16 is vegan as am I. Others in our party had a good choice of options. I was happy to have beans on toast and a cup of tea but oh dear, no dairy free spread for the toast and no alternative 'mik' for the tea. No problem, I had dry toast with my beans and a coke. However, my daughter ordered mushrooms on toast. When this arrived we were absolutely horrified! Can't believe they had the nerve to bring this to the table, two pieces of dry toast with ONE small mushroom on each piece! I took it back to the counter and asked for more mushrooms. So it came back with two mushrooms on each slice of toast. I would have expected a pile of nice chopped, fried mushrooms. Maybe a bit of salad, sadly, a completely unimaginative chef. Sad. Won't be going again.

My wife and I, my daughter and boyfriend, had booked and paid for afternoon tea to celebrate my 70th birthday. What a rip off. £44 for abysmal fayre. Had we not paid in advanced, I might have paid them £30 for what we were presented with. Each person received one slice of bread, made into two sandwiches of ham with coleslaw and cheese with chutney! To accompany this gigantic feast was a handful of crisps, a small person’s handful. Also, an espresso size cup of warm soup. Four types of cake~ scone with jam and cream, lemon curd cake, slice of coconut cake and a slice of chocolate cake. To drink, each person was presented with a mini- milk bottle of milkshake~ I am 70 not 7. Rounded off with 2 pots of tea between the 4 of us. I was decidedly unimpressed with what was to be a joyous landmark family celebration. I fail to see how they can justify such an exorbitant price in return for such meagre refreshment. Do they have a conscience? I wait to read their justification. The day was spoilt from that moment on. From the photograph, you can see what I was presented with. The other side of the picnic bench had the same food replicated for another of our group. To sum up, profit before pleasure.

Decided to go to Coffee Barn for breakfast after reading reviews. We were very disappointed. Breakfast was bought out on cold plates thereby making the food get cold very quickly, hash browns were undercooked and the black pudding tasted like plastic. The mushroom (singular) was very dry and the sausage was overly herby and seasoned. Staff were clearing tables whilst people were still sat eating on them. When a spelling mistake was pointed out, in a friendly manner, to one of the staff, the reply was - 'I didn't write it', with an attitude of - not my problem -.

On yhe last few occasions I have had to return dirty cutlery, chipped crockery and dirty glasses. On one occasion I even had to send the replacement back as unclean. Been here a few times with various people and although the food is nice there has always been something that's left me feeling disappointed. Today was the last time I will be going back there. Firstly I'm glad they have changed their teapots and cups as the last time I went every single piece was chipped which is off putting and a microbe breeding frenzy. Today I went and was left quite angry I had to part ways with money which doesn't happen much. The young waitress with dark hair was extremely unpleasant, awful attitude and needs a lesson in customer service. Then to my disgust I went to top up my tea and seen that the cup hadn't been cleaned properly. It's a shame they haven't taken the time to sort these things out because the food is actually pretty good, in a lovely location and majority of staff very sweet.

Been several times and as always service and food top class. Great for families. Take some time to visit the farm shop as well.

Lovely coffee barn, light and airy with views of the animals and chickens grazing on the surrounding fields of the farm.

We have visited the Coffee Barn on many occasions over the last year. Excellent for families as there are farm yard animals for kids to see. Had breakfast and lunch here in the past, the full English and ploughman's are my personal favourites. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Will be back again

A small farm shop and cafe tucked away from the busy city. The farm shop sells plants aswell as a good selection of fresh fruit, veg, meat, deli items and it even has a shabby chic household gifts section. The cafe has a decent menu from sandwiches to afternoon tea and the staff are very friendly. It's very child friendly too.

Was unsure whether to visit after reading some recent reviews, glad I ignored them and visited as it was a great place. The setting is lovely, we received a warm welcome and the quality of the food was amazing. We ordered full English breakfasts and small breakfasts for the kids. The meals could all be served in half portions for the kids which was perfect for us. I can't remember all the prices but I found it very good value especially given the quality of the food. I think the children's breakfast was about £3.00 There is also a gorgeous farm shop attached with lovely fresh fruit and veg and lots of lovely food goodies and gifts.

Been here a few times, and never fails to amaze me! Lovely surroundings and lovely service! Can be a slight wait on food but are always told, service is what you want and food is lovely, It is freshly made to order so I can understand the wait will definitely be back sooner rather than later!!

Today I visited the barn for breakfast with my friend.....which I have done on many occasions ! My friend ordered a breakfast asking for all his meat to cook well done which he does on every occasion we eat there! First time it came back it had wrong egg & all meat was not well done so was taken away ! My order came & was swimming in grease ! And no cutlery! 10 mins maybe longer his meal was returned still not cooked how he had asked to be told by waitress that they can't burn the food!!!!!! His breakfast was taken away again ! When cutlery was finally brought to us I informed waitress I could not eat mine as swimming in grease she took it away !!! When I went to pay bill I was charged for my breakfast which I complained about! The girl did refund one breakfast & drinks ! I was very disappointed in my visit I will think twice about going again which is a shame as I live local & visited a lot in past !!!!

Just outside Halewood Village, a very pleasant eatery serving, breakfasts, lunches and teas. Nice, pleasant staff, seating inside and out, and decently priced home fayre. A busy out of the way place, with plenty of outside space for children to play. Great on a summers day, small farm animals kept in the next door fields.

I have been to this place a few times now and I doubt I will ever go again. Its such a shame as it is a great place and it could work but it doesn't as it never improves, each time we have to deal with the staff who can't be bothered to make an effort, one girl was actually looking out of the window when taking our order, she was clearly interested in what ever was happening outside instead of doing her job and she kindly added a dish to our bill which we didn't even ask for!

I never quite get over the shock knowing that this place is a two minute drive from our house. Its just gorgeous. I love the setting, the atmosphere, the farm shop, the animals milling around outside, the quirky mismatched crockery and of course, the food. Just had a few pots of tea today. Just over two quid but I got nearly four cups out of it and its quality tea not just Tetley or something similar. Well worth the visit and the cost.

Yes I actually was looking forward to going to visit there for my Lunch. So I ordered my jacket potatoe, but sadly they had sold out. So then I ordered just a sandwich, but of course no ham, they had run out, so it had to be cheese. When he told me how much I had to ask him to repeat it, what just for a not so good cheese sandwich we came on a slate, trying to make it look posh, I thought well maybe I have also paid to take the slate home with me, would fill a hole in my roof maybe. Toilets not so good, wet floor, no hand soap. Charging what they charge is so out of order, staff not friendly, just will never spend my money there ever again. Disappointed more than that. Shocked and horrified.

This is a really good location but the service lets it down. Food can be pre-ordered, but this appears to be to the detriment of other customers who then have to wait an unacceptable length of time even though they are seated well before those who have pre-ordered arrive! Seems to me that there is a staffing issue here. Apparently, according to the owner, front of house staff can prepare and serve cakes/scones/drinks etc which means that customers who have ordered lunch can find themselves waiting far longer than those who order cakes/drinks etc, even though they arrived first!

We love this place as do the kids. The breakfasts are fantastic! Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait but that's normally because it's so busy.

Had lunch there today, Sunday 26th June 2016. This was one the worst lunch experiences of my life. Not clean, tables sticky and tacky. Coffees took 20 minutes to come. The food took almost an hour to arrive. Waitress was "offhand" to say the least. Insincere apology for delay. All day breakfast was only £6 and tasty, but then there very little of it. Very frustrating and inadequate. Unless you have the patience of a saint, I suggest you avoid this place. Also the noise level was very high, which is debilitating.

We were staying at the hotel attached so tried eating here on first night. We queued for nearly 10 mins to get a drink and order our food. When eventually our food came the starters came with the main meal and i had asked for sweet potato fries instead of normal. I received both. When the receipt was checked they had charged me for the extra portion but the queues were too much to go back to bar. also the food we had received was not good, I didnt eat my ribs not sure if they were cooked properly. While we were there we saw many people send their food back and lots and lots of people complaining about the wait. Also they had a man singing and out table was right in front of him and we were unable to have a conversation due to the volume. When the food

Booked here with manager who seemed very nice.Took booking and friendly beyond my expectations even asked where we would like to sit.On the night gave us a completely different table than originally stated and we ate in what can be described as a sports bar area.Meal booked was ok as far as I was concerned but my colleague was given custard instead of brandy sauce and when mentioned it was told it’s my fault.Clearly stated on their own menu brandy sauce did not even mention a custard option. It was the my fault I can’t order that has upset me .Food was passable but not exciting. However the drinks were good although same colleague didn’t get what she wanted.
