Great food staff are always sound and polite and friendly the katsu chicken is lovely dog friendly aswell sport on all day and just a genuine little boozer that does good food worth a visit or ten.

3rd time since it has been renovated and we cannot fault the place

Booked a table online for 19.00 paid 10 deposit and choose the festive menu. When we arrived the pub was full and trying to find someone to ask about our booking was hard. We walked up the stairs and met a man that said did we have a booking we were taken to a table and given menus. He then left .When we saw him again we said we were on the festive menu off he went again. Came back says he could not find a booking or deposit. Luckily I had a text from you with all details . We ordered a meal and when I asked for my deposit to be returned he said he could not take it off the bill and I would have to give details of my card to have it refunded later. I said not happy with this so he gave me £10 and said it was is tip money never had such a bad experience. Customer service non existent. Will not come again very bad experience ruined our Christmas night out

Recently refurbished sunday roast superb well presented well cooked large portions plate polished downside (larger) gravy boats needed very tasty meal .other half gave it a 10/10 and me a massive thumbs up management present overlooking lunch service great place for all the family it work very well great place to visit 5x

Visited with mum after reading an article on the refurb. Walked in to the sight of a beautiful big Christmas tree and a very warm welcome from the smiley waitress (Lynne). Greeted at bar by another equally friendly and effortlessly professional waiter (Doug). Service was excellent, as was the food. Our cups of tea came piping hot which was greatly appreciated (nothing worse than lukewarm tea). Food was also piping hot, incredibly fresh and very tasty. The decor is lovely and everything looks spotlessly clean, including the toilets. The ambience is the perfect blend of calm, friendly and family oriented (dog friendly too!) Altogether a great place for a quick drink, a bite to eat, or a long relaxing dinner. Our only slight issue would be that we were a tad on the cold side but I stress that was of no major significance and I didn’t remember to put my cardi on (note to self!) A great Greene King establishment, underpinned by great staff!

Nice place for good food and drink on a rainy winters saturday afternoon. Good choice of menu all meals were excellent.

Considering we only popped out for a simple pub meal we got more than expected. I had a beautiful Butter chicken curry which was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. My partner had the Caprese burger. That burger could easily be served in a restaurant. It was quality beef, cooked perfectly and the whole meal was beautiful. Portion size is bang on, price is very reasonable and the staff were very pleasant, professional and helpful. We will definitely be making this a regular haunt.

Ordered mozzarella pizza, it came with no mozzarella just cheddar. Wasn't enjoyable, basically tasted like cheese on toast. Drinks also came after the food arrived and the food alone took 20/30mins.

Lovely menu and super service. Felt it was a tad pricey but it was well worth it. There were a few items unavailable but the server was able to advise and suggest alternatives.

Absolutely disgusting went for a 3 course Christmas dinner with family, seated next to the door so it was freezing, the menu sent -£70 a head, was not the menu we received, half of the items on the menu were not there! totally ripped off !! last straw was dessert - profiteroles that burst with runny cream/milk Would 100% not recommend

I thought this pub was great. I havnt been for ages and we just popped in hoping to get a table. The atmosphere was really relaxed there was great background music on which I really enjoyed as it was all the old classics. We got a lamb roast each which was lovely & kids meals were nice too. Lovely staff very friendly. Great value too! We will be going back very soon.

We stopped coming here after a decline in quality of food. Decided to come today for a roast dinner as we heard there was a new chef - we will not be returning again; Yorkshire pudding was not cooked, some of the food was hot and other parts were lukewarm at best. Roasties we’re frozen type and in my opinion the chicken breast and lamb were prepacked and not carved from a joint. Very disappointed.

Went here on sunday9 july 23 2 of my family orderd black pudding stack which is suppoed to be black pudding on mash and side sald but all they got was 2 peices if black pudding with salad looked like it was thown together and the mash wasnt there like the menu says disgrace i myself got the mediterrainean pasta whick i got a few months previous it had olives and vegetables yesterday it turned up just a tomato pasta with a few red onions thown in and cheese terrible, and then to top it all off my brother orderd roast pork sunday diinner when it came out it looked lost on the plate a few potatoes roasted and 2 little boiled potatoes and stuffing then the pork so perfectly round pieces inwhich looked processed with a small stuffing ball on the top and a splash of gravy then the veg one piece of brocoli and 7 slice carrots an absolute disgrace they have cut the portions down here what are you playing at and charging at the prices ,YOU ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF the roast was a joke and as for the other meals well say no more they dont match the menu if yor going to drop the portions sizes and miss the mash of the stacks and the olives and veg out of the pasta DROP YOUR PRICES OUTRAGEOUS

Having spent the past two weeks at various places throughout the U.K. this was the most warm and welcoming venue of all. Wonderful staff (Danielle), exceptional food + value and spotlessly clean throughout. TONY Cape Town South Africa.

We didn't plan on coming here but decided to give it a try. Knowing the pubs history I was unsure of what to expect. Myself and my daughter both enjoyed our food it was very well presented and also lovely quality. The staff were all very friendly. Overall this pub has a nice warm feeling about. I would highly recommend this pub.

Took the kids here for dinner this Sunday. Lovely little pub inside & they have a great fenced off seating out there front and back of the pub. There isn’t a play area but lots of room for them to run around out the back. I had hunters chicken Which was really nice. Kids ate both of their meals so they must have been good.

Lovely building and outside sitting area but the inside could do with some life, very dull and dated...

Sunday roast average, unfortunately the mashed potato was laced with garlic I hate garlic.

Medium steak well done, had to wait for cutlery and condiments to be brought to table after the food was served (the table next to us had them well in advance). Finally ordered a sauce with the steak. Came to our table to say they do not have that sauce, offered an alternative which was not to my liking end up not having any even though I had paid for it. No refund offered. No waiter came to check if we were OK, so could not complain. Overall not impressed.

Nice pub, called in for food and football whilst on a course. Food was great and reasonably priced. Football was also great and the Carling was a good price to. Nice place to go footy and food!!

Just got back from a meal at the derby arms and before I start I am not normally a moaner or neither do I usually leave a place a bad review, but the food at the derby arms is truly shocking and one of the worst pub meals I have ever had. Now I do not expect top quality Michelin star food at a pub but this was several levels below that. Little tiny chicken pieces for 6 pound that looked that they came off a sparrow and and been in the fryer for 30 seconds, barely cooked garlic bread and the mixed grill I got looked like it had been cooked under a lightbulb truly shocking the best part of the meal was the pints of Birra Moretti lager, staff where nice but will not be returning and felt i had to leave and honest review because what we paid for 4 people was way overpriced for the quality that was delivered to us.

Booked prior to going got there was told I hadn't ..we where allowed to stay !! Waited 1 hour for food..as the doors where open flies everywhere...left after eating some loud people in there who like the sound of their own voice

This looks a fabulous pub from the outside but it should have a big sign saying NO ACCESS FOR WHEELCHAIRS. And they didn’t even have a portable ramp so that there was a way that wheelchairs could still get in. As for the toilets……. forget it coz you can’t get a wheelchair in there. When pointing this out to the staff, they simply didn’t care. Not to good for 21st century. I won’t be going again and I am certainly going to tell everybody about the lack of care.

Service impeccable, food excellent and portions nicely between still hungry and stuffed.

Only remember having food in the Derby when I was little and it was nothing special, however had a lovely roast dinner from there on Sunday. We had it delivered to the house which is exciting having the option in Knowsley Village! The quality was better than any chain carvery and was a decent size portion. Support your local! Would highly recommend.

Went there for lunch with the family and we all loved every single bite the food was fantastic the staff were attentive and very welcoming cant recommend more this place is not only open and under new management but it looks like its starting to thrive on the efforts the new managers are putting in!

Our first visit. From start to end of our visit we enjoyed the atmosphere and lavished being well taken care of by the friendly and attentive staff! We took advantage of the government scheme and went here for tea, fairly clear that more people had come here than they had expected and we were advised of a wait for the food which ended up being longer but in the real world it happens, the pub has for some time had no food trade so little to be their expectations on. The food was good and we will return, staff were aware of the issues and couldnt apologise enough. If you live local and you like having a pub on your doorstep then give it a go.

Our first visit to the Derby Arms last Sunday, was concerned reading previous reviews, but new management have thrown themselves into making this an asset to the village. Friendly feel to the place, staff polite and efficient, in particular young girl and guy serving us on table 9. Roast dinner was incredibly good!! We will return regularly to enjoy, food menu is varied and all sounds good. Delighted to have the Derby Arms back open!

The Derby Arms Knowsley Village has reopened under new management since Monday 10th August 2020. As this has just been refurbished I can’t believe it has been described as a Horrible Run Down Pub ! In a previous review. Possibly refers to a different Derby Arms as there are a few around Liverpool. My food was delicious and is highly recommended. Staff were polite and professional. I will certainly be back again during the week and most definitely next Sunday for another Roast dinner.

Shocked to read the last comment as this pub has recently been taken over and currently being run by 2 bar managers, place has had a deep clean and kitchen is now open with a great menu and prices. Me and my husband and friends all tried the Sunday lunch yesterday , all home cooked and gravy to die for, would have licked the plate clean if I wasn’t with friends 😋 This is also part of the government eat out scheme 😀

What a pub! Great atmosphere, amazing and polite staff, the place where its situated is beautiful and the pub inside is gorgeous! The service was very pleasant and quick and theb there's the food... cooked beautifully, tasted amazing and overall 10/10! Would definitely recommend 👌

Went to enjoy a drink with friends and heard the manager who was extremely intoxicated slagging her staff off then lead to customers. Surprised this pub is still running with a ‘manager’ like that running it.

Went to watch my friends band and couldn’t as they have NO disabled access for an electric wheelchair! Got told it was around the side of the building to find there was 5 steps to access this entrance! Very disappointing and got asked if we wanted to be lifted in!!! NOT acceptable and highly embarrassing!

Terrible lunch experience!! Lovely pub but barmaid needs a customer service training course!! Don't order food there's no ingredients in so whatever you order they haven't got it in anyway! Ordered 2 meals for £10...absolutely vile boring food....very disappointed and not worth a lunchtime visit ever again!! No service with a smile more like a grimace!!!! DO NOT BOTHER KEEP ON DRIVING! Whole place needs a change of management and overhaul!!! Sad really given its a lovely old quaint village pub!!

The food was very good for pub food but 5 of us ordered food and when it came out there was around 40 mins between the first dish being delivered and the last. It felt almost like they where cooking 1 at a time.

Met this fella called ste hes a sick man get on him for the pints every 9 you get one free😂👍
