Nestled onto a traffic junction Ye Olde Swiss Cottage yells trap de tourism. From the title including Ye Olde to the architectural frontage, you know this isn't the norm for Finchley or Camden Town. The external beer garden has been made to look as good as it can given its location between two busy arterial roads. I chose to go inside as the emissions might be a little lower. The inside space was welcoming and quite pleasant, roomy with plenty of table space and seating. Where the venue took the Swiss stereotype too far for me was with the pricing. A pint of cider and a small (small side dish) of tomato salad came in at £14 .. even Heidi would have been shocked.

Appalling place , dead , a ghost of a pub . Smells inside so sat outside. Pricey for the state of it too . Used to be a nice pub which seems to be the saying for most London pubs these days . Food ? You’d have to be stupid to even contemplate it . Wine glasses were filthy too. I’ve never seen such a dead pub in my life . Sad .

When I used to come to London we would often drive into the city and depending on where we were going we would sometimes come past Swiss Cottage. I was always fascinated by this unusual building which seemed out of place with the surrounding buildings. Recently I visited the Swiss Cottage for the first time and it's a nice little bar/restaurant. I found it very charming and tidy.

Overpriced and understaffed, promoting a 5.00pm - 7.00pm two-for-less meal offer unavailable - one bar person barely coping with customer drinks. £13 for a pint and a g & t but we had to wait 15 minutes for a slice of lemon. We used to like Sam Smith's pubs but premioum prices and poor presentation are driving the brand downhill.

Since we were staying at a hotel in the neighbourhood, we decided to have dinner at the closest pub. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed, but we had to wait a while to be served. I think there was only one man working at the desk. We had fish and chips, and that was very good.

I know the area pretty well and this is the nearest pub to where I’m staying. Swiss Cottage is largely a big roundabout with Ye Old Swiss Cottage on the northern side next to Swiss Cottage underground entrance. I know the pub is a brewery owned, manager operated pub selling Samual Smiths beer, but decided to give it a try for a meal and a couple of beers. I ordered the Tadcaster ale. It was good and the correct temperature. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed, so I had my beer and left. I didn’t find the pub welcoming, and there are others in this area that are. This is not I would call a happy place. While drinking my beer I noticed a beer glass being filled from the drip tray and placed back under the nozzle. This is something I’ve never seen in a pub before and I question it’s legality with regards food hygiene rules. I will not be going back there again, and it compares badly with other public houses in the area.

Having driven past many times decided to stop to eat. Familiar with this chains offering, ordered the “ famous” steak and ale pie. What arrived was the size and texture of an ice hockey puck which had spent several hours in an oven and dried out completely. Inedible and at £13 plus an insult. The waiter seemed unsurprised that the food was virtually untouched and cleared the table without comment. No post COVID excuses here

Looking for an eatery before a theatre visit, found this place. Not very tempting to look at from the outside but decent enough inside. Staff welcoming. Was there mid week so really quiet. Enjoyed the food, nicely cooked and tasty, good portions. Only negative was it's so dimly lit indoors. I sat at one of the few tables that had a light over it so I could see my food, but really too badly lit.

Visiting London with my family we decided to go to the iconic Swiss Cottage pub...what a mistake that was! Dont be lured in by the quaint flowery window boxes and promise of a great British pub experience. The service and attitude of the staff was beyond rude and unhelpful. The food portions were small compared with the pictures on their website and I only received half a piece of fish for my fish & chip meal. When our meals arrived we politely asked for salt and vinegar, (as you do when eating fish & chips), we were very rudely told that they 'Dont do table service' and that she wasnt prepared to get us any as she was busy! We sat there in disbelief having spent over £120 on fish & chips for 7! Engish was not the first language of any of the staff we dealt with but this didnt stop them from being well versed in rude comments and remarks. If people do not want to serve clients and create a pleasant experience for guest and diners then they shouldnt be in the HOSPITALITY trade. It was the worse pub experience I have EVER had. The owner should be ashamed!!!

I wanted to experience a typical English Pub, and Ye Old Swiss Cottage lived up to its name. I had a delicious pear ale which was perfect! However, I was not happy with my fish and chips as they were very bland. There was no salt or seasoning of any kind and the fish itself was a bit tough and appeared to have been frozen and not fresh. My friend had bangers and mash which were really good. I also had the sticky toffee pudding, which was really quite good, but wasn't exactly a pudding...more like a carrot cake or banana bread consistency. Our waitress was great and started singing. It was recommended to us by a local shopkeeper on Finchley Road. It is a traditional pub. The food was reasonable and the beer plentiful. If in the area again, I would certainly stop in for a drink. They had a big outdoor patio/seating area and on a warmer evening it would have been good to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere.

After 2 hours of heaving my laptop across Regents Park and Primrose Hill searching for pokemon, we were on our way home for Dinner and we decided to stop off for a beer at a pub next to the station. The outdoor court yard is huge with plenty of space, the inside has comfortable chairs. The beers are great, I personally like the wheat beer and my girlfriend likes the taddy lager. Definitely worth a visit in the summer or on a dry night for a post work beer and scratchings session.

This used to be one of London,s Iconic pubs. In the seventies and eighties there were five bars and a smart restaurant. Now there is only one functioning bar serving pub food and snacks. The rest of the building has been neglected by the present owners who do not appear to be trying to keep it going to the same level it used to be. However I still call in when I am in the area and the place still has a friendly atmosphere, and good staff. They serve a god selection of real beers along with the usual proprietary brands. The food is good and varied, and very reasonably priced. I would recommend it as a good place to meet friends or for a business lunch. it is well situated for rail and bus stops and the West End is twenty minutes by car and less on the tube.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon and was amazed to find it had hardly changed since my last visit 32 years ago! It was quiet with no football on tv and no loud music playing. We had the Sunday roast dinners which were delicious and were large portions. Roast dinner and pint of Sam Smiths bitter for £12, couldn't fault it!

I stayed in a hotel near the Swiss Cottage tube stop. Ye Olde Swiss Cottage is right there when you emerge to the street level. The Swiss cottage themed architecture seemed kind of corny in a residential London neighborhood, not what I would have expected for a typical pub, so I didn't think much of going inside. My trip plans made an early evening quick dinner necessary, and in this neighborhood there aren't a lot of options, so I gave Ye Olde Swiss Cottage a try. Inside it was a warm and friendly English Pub. Good service, good beer and pub food that was tasty and well prepared. Price was about what I would have expected to pay for a pint and plate of pub food in London. Locals were friendly and I left quite satisfied with my choice.

Been here a couple of times now and found it to be a proper little gem in the middle of a busy area. The staff are great and the beer/ciders are awesome (Samuel Smith I believe).I'll be visiting again in Feb and can not wait for my couple of hours in the Cottage!!!

Right at the tube stop and the Swiss cottage look seemed kind of corny in a London residential neighborhood. Initially I avoided it but gave it a try as having dinner near my hotel (not a lot of other options) fit my plans. Inside I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean and sort of classic pub decor and friendly staff who worked efficiently. Food was pub food but tasty and well prepared. Not expensive, about what I expected to pay for a plate of food and a pint. All in all good pub experience and adequate for dinner unless you were expecting an upscale meal.

I offen come here to meet friends on business occasions. This pub is certainly underrated. It's friendly and welcoming the atmosphere is relaxed. Food and bar snacks are delicious and fairly well priced. Ample room for families socialising and huge range of tables both inside and out. Recommended for all

We had tickets to a play so we took the Jubilee Line, all the way across London from our 'home' tube station, Southwark, to the Swiss Cottage tube stop. It took us less than 20 minutes to cross this enormous city by underground train, which was impressive. Once we departed the underground via Exit 2, we emerged onto Finchley Road and were but a few steps away from the Swiss Cottage Pub. The Hampstead Theatre is right around the corner, so everything is close to one another. We opted for a pre-theatre snack at the pub. The architecture makes you think that someone long ago removed a real Swiss cottage and placed it in this London suburb. The building's exterior is fashioned like a genuine Alpine cottage whereas the inside is a typical pub. Staff and customers alike are relaxed and friendly. The menu is a good one for a pub. It is varied and you can have a light or full meal. We had two large bowls of homemade creamy tomato soup followed by a sticky toffee pudding and a raspberry chocolate brownie. No ales this time or we would have slept through the play, but there are plenty of ales available as well as hard liquor and wine. Our meals cost an affordable 10 pounds each.

Although this is very close to where I live, I have not been there much. It used to be a really run down old pub without much life in it but my last visit during a sunny day when I stopped by for a pint under the sun in the garden I was positively surprised. Probably changed hands since I can now see many people sitting in the garden and enjoying the variety of beers on offer. Might worth another visit.

Popped in here while working away as we'd driven past and though it looked really unique. Inside was dinghy and the room at the back smelt very very very much of sweat and body odor. We sat outside with our drinks and were approached by two complete fruit loops coming out of the pub. One of them dribbling everywhere and the other swiftly declothed himself infront of us to show off his tattoos - err nice can see the sort of people that come in here

Ye Olde Swiss Cottage is situated at a tube stop along the main bus lines we used along Finchley Road. We feared it was full of cuckoo clocks, dirndl dresses and lederhosen. Not so. It was a comfortable local English style pub with very good food and drink, ordered from the bar with several inside nooks and a large outdoor area. It was perfect after a day of site seeing.

A place with such a bad service that it doesn't even deserve one star. Besides, they sell coffee more expensive than other places, but on the other hand, they try to sell a badly made coffee almost by a force. When you object, they say the problem is with the customer. Although my home is far from this place, I came here today just to have a good coffee as I love the taste of coffee in this place. But when I saw their sarcastic and bad behavior today, I regret that I came. Although I specifically stated when placing my latte order, I "I want it extra hot and without foam". The lady who makes the coffee, she made it opposite what I've asked. When I said I didn't want it that way, she said she was a bartender for 10 years. She also told me that the coffee "I drank every day" was something impossible to make. 🤔 And she laughed sarcastically. When I said why are you laughing, she said it's fun for her. Unbelievable ! It's true, they piss you off by not making the order you gave them and they make fun of it. I found this behavior really ugly. The only place I will never go to again... I just want to ask, If it's impossible, why are you taking this order? Besides, why would I ask you to do something impossible to make? You can be a bartender for 10 years, but you don't listen to the customer. You don't care what they want. As far as I can see, 10 years has created a self-conceit in you, not a good experience. Also, I bought the coffee which you said was impossible, from Black Sheep Coffee place a little further ahead, from a smiling bartender, and drank it. It's a pity really. I only condemn you for your behavior today. Because you ruined my day. You may not care about me by just reading one customer, but one customer equals ten customers. You lost ten customers today. Me and my friends whom I have recommended and sent before. Of course, if a situation is your concern!!!

Visited here today to warm up and shelter from the rain ahead of a walk up Primrose Hill. The staff were lovely and friendly and the toilet was clean. Best cinnamon bun in London and what a generous measure of hot strong coffee! The toasted sandwiches looked amazing will definitely have one next time ❤️

Statene lontani.

A very welcome lunch stop. We were thoroughly enjoying a walk in the Olympic Park, but feeling peckish. OK it was lunchtime, but I fancied the breakfast in a box. Which was warmed up for me. Back home (150 miles to the north), it would not have rated very highly. But in London I wanted something not vegetarian, and it rang my bell. There was the bacon, tasty sausage, beans, tomatoes, something potatoey, what was once egg and some green stuff (?) But it was warm enough, tasty, filling, and actually I quite enjoyed it. As, and when, we return for another walk I would probably choose it again. Incidentally the staff we friendly and helpful. The place was clean and tidy.
