From afternoon meal to wedding reception party in the evening, everything was brilliant, nothing was to much trouble for any staff members, everything ran perfectly highly recommended 5⭐️

This is against the spa only, the hotel and restaurant staff were lovely. Do not go to this Spa, absolutely disgusting treatment from the manager. On a 60th Birthday celebration and was told that we were put on a drinks ban, only had 2 drinks in the 2 hours we were there. Complained about this and was told we should behave, well believe me we are not children and never misbehaved. As they made us feel uncomfortable asked for money back for the treatments that we didn't have, but they said no we can't have the money back. Avoid by all means, don't know how to look after customers 😒

This place is amazing. All staff cannot do enough to help you and the spa, food etc is the best around. For example, during a recent visit, I had a facial at the spa. I have suffered with ache scars for a long time and since that facial my skin has never looked so good! The treatment was tailored to my needs and the therapist was so lovely. When I lost something in the spa, reception went over and above to find it. The day after they called me to confirm it had been found and that they would hold on to it until I was able to collect. The waiters in the pub bar are equally as lovely. We didn’t book and enquired as to whether they could find us a table - which they did immediately. Gave lots of fuss to our puppy and we’re really attentive. The above is just a selection of the great service we received. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We thoroughly enjoyed Valentine's evening at our favourite Hotel. Tables set romantically, vases of red rose on each table, nice gentle music in the background all providing the perfect ambience to the evening. Our chosen 3 courses set meall was overall delicious. The quality of food, the cooking and presentation was outstanding. The staff all welcoming, and service we received was attentive, Thankyou all! Alan & Lynda B.

I stayed at this hotel for one night during a business trip and had a wonderful experience. The property boasts great character, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay from start to finish. The food was of excellent quality, exceeding expectations. One thing to note is that the gym is quite small, so it’s advisable to visit early to avoid any inconvenience. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure stays, and I would not hesitate to return.

My two daughters and I have just had an early start to celebrating a 40th birthday in this wonderful Spa and Hotel. We have had the day spa with lunch and the overnight stay with the bar meal in the evening and breakfast in the hotel. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the food was amazing. We came home feeling truly spoilt. We can't thank you all enough for this wonderful experience. We will be back!

Please please please!!!! Warm your pool!!! You could be a great contender for high end spas such as Rudding and even Grantley Hall but your pool is too cool, I mentioned this to staff on the day (and several before that, I have been 5+ times) each time they test and say it’s at temperature but it needs to be a couple of degrees warmer especially in winter!!!! Rudding roof top is like a lovely hot bath. Yours unfortunately you get out cold, unsatisfied and not relaxed! I hoped and hoped you’d make the change and warm your pool. Sadly, I’ll be going further afield and elsewhere.

Lovely hotel, historic old building with modern accommodation annexe in the courtyard, staff very friendly. Expensive but everything was top quality. We arrived too late to use the pool or spa. The bedroom was massive and spotless, the shower was really powerful and even though the room was facing out onto the road there was no traffic noise whatsoever. There was only one big towel though, we would have liked one each. Dinner was top class, the braised ox cheek was divine. we couldn't even finish our desserts. Breakfast was also delicious. Overall a great stay, plenty of parking and handy for getting back onto the A1

Came for our yearly afternoon tea (always bought as a Christmas gift) this time bringing my brother and his partner and it didn't disappoint. The sandwiches were beautiful as always, and what a selection. The cakes again were beautiful, light and again a varied selection. Delicious warm scone served with jam and cream. All dietry requests were met Big thankyou to helen on reception who organised for me to take one afternoon tea home for my partner as he was unable to come due to his anxiety. Lovely place, attentive staff and wonderful relaxing environment for you to enjoy an afternoon tea Will be back again. Thankyou Francesca ferry

worse hotel I've stayed at. Young members of staff made me feel unwelcome, lack of response unless my light-skinned child spoke. Called reception for a towel as there was only 1 provided, and it never came. Called reception and no answer was later told they left before they were supposed to. Phone in the room had no numbers on it ie: reception, spa etc. Ordered a 2 bowls of chips for myself and my child. There were 10 uncooked soggy chips and was forced to pay £10 for them. As the food on the menu was not something we would eat. The hotel room was not what I booked, it was unclean. bed sheets were dirty, kettle was covered in limescale glasses were dirty and spoons were dirty. Room was not wheelchair accessible and was forced to use an unsafe ramp to access a room I didn't book. No lift either. Spa staff were amazing, lovely, and very helpful. Barman Jamie was great and very helpful.

We visited Ye olde bell hotel and spa for a special occasion and booked the full day spa with overnight stay, dinner bed and breakfast. The spa was very indulgent, the service was impeccable, and the treatments were wonderful, possibly the best I have ever had. It felt like a special treat. There are 3 hot rooms, 1 steam (which I'd would have liked to be steamier), a salt inhalation room, lots of places to relax and a lovely small pool with several hydromassage stations and the food at lunch was amazing. As such I had high expectations for the hotel. The hotel is old country style and the rooms are lovely and spacious, personally I found the pillows a little hard but overall a nice experience and the breakfast was very nice with great service. What I was disappointed by was having been very clear we were there for a special occasion and booked for dinner we did not eat in the restaurant but the bar, which wasn't communicated in advance or at check in. While the food was lovely, it just didn't have that special treat feeling. Also, while it is in the T&Cs that the £30 credit was on food only and not drinks this was not made clear to us by our server and so after the meal when we were told that we would pay x amount on check out, that wasn't the case. I would certainly go back to the spa, the hotel perhaps not.

I've had a lovely overnight stay here - they've spent some money on the Olde Bell since I used to bring tour groups here in the late 90s! Room was very nice, comfy bed and both dinner and breakfast were very good. I'll be back it's a lovely place the Olde Bell.

Had a lovely stay here with a friend. I did the Dreamy Spa stay with the spa split over 2 days. It was bliss! The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The spa was divine and the food delicious. The common areas of the hotel are a little old-fashioned for my taste, especially all the prints of foxes and hounds, but I guess that's in keeping for an old country hotel. My room was lovely though, and the spa very modern. I will definitely return if I'm in the area again and have already recommended it to friends.

Stayed her in June. Service and food first class. Room was average and we have fed back a number of issues directly to the hotel. It was a shame as it just needs a little TLC - would we recommend and stay again - Yes, but we would expect those issues identified to have been rectified.

Where do I start? It is a fabulous gem, inside those white exterior walls !! What you get is not what you see !! Oh my, as soon as I got inside, my mouth dropped and eyes widened. Contemporary with that modern twist. It's one experience waiting for you. Grounds are very well kept and very inviting. Staff are themselves and very approachable. We had a suite. It was massive. The feel and look of the room made you smile and think wow !! I could well imagine a wedding party getting ready in there. Roll top Bath, huge bed, lovely drape at each window. Fabulous. Had a fabulous meal. Food was outstanding. Staff were very accommodating. All in all our occasion was made special.

Disappointing meal experience. Not given wine list or asked if wanted a drink - had to ask for glass of prosecco. Starters good, but one main came luke warm and without accompanying juz. Chocolate brownies were slightly dry, lacking any taste of cherries in kirsch and came with chocolate ice-cream, rather than pistachio as advertised. Shame as previous experience very good

Booked a room for one night in September but had to cancel due to change of circumstances. Although we knew the deposit was none refundable booking direct with the hotel we thought giving them 7 months notice this would have been refunded. We can’t understand that no deposit is taken by booking sites and cancellation can be made at very short notice without any penalty. This is really a warning to any future customers to book via a booking site to avoid unnecessary money loss. By booking direct with hotels saves commissions to the booking sites so surely this should be a bonus for the hotel.

Wow what can i say, this is the first time coming here as we were visiting my parents who have recently moved here so they treated us to a meal for my birthday. The food and service was by far a 10 out of 10. All freshly cooked food and decent portions for the price too. I had the Sticky Chicken for starters 🤤🤤and a Chicken, Ham and Leek Pie for main course which was well filled. I loved the deco and how comfortable the crushed velvet chairs were which made it even more comfy. The whole place was clean and inviting to everyone. All the staff we were in contact with with so bubbly and friendly, especially the owner? Who took our order and the lady who waited on us too. The only niggle for me was i was to hot but thats personal preference as im never cold and was sittinf by a radiator. Such a lovely pub its a shame its going to be closing ☹️

Beautiful restaurant. Very friendly and truly dog friendly. Our dog was made to feel very welcome. Enjoyed their huge breakfast and especially loved the freshly made drinks. Sunshine streaming through while we read the papers. Lovely atmosphere. Will definitely come again!

A little hidden gem on the outskirts of Retford town. First time here, but it definitely won't be our last! Family run business with very friendly service. Reasonable prices, lots of offers too. The food was fresh, hot, and tasty 😋 I'm not surprised they have so many awards. Definitely not one to miss! We had chicken bhuna, chicken tikka masala, onion bhaji, garlic naan, garlic cheese naan, mushroom rice, and pickle tray. Help keep a local family run business open by ordering through their website or app, Justeat take 25% when you order through them 😞

Ruined birthday meal! Went for a Sunday lunch to celebrate a friends birthday after hearing the kitchen had been updated and the pubs owners posting pictures of their food online. My order of ‘Roast Beef served pink’. What did we get? A piece of beef that couldn’t even be cut due to how tough it was. We joked it would be easier to eat a flip flop. One of our guests needed to be hit of the back due to not being able to chew the meat and nearly chocked. We had to complain and 3 meals of beef had to be sent back. We replaced with gammon. Well; I couldn’t wait to tuck in to this! Well that would have to wait as the meat was completely raw! We checked and the gammon was still like rubber. They had literally put the meat in their cooker and only the top piece had cooked. Again we complained and this is where you could see the lack of customer service. We were told that they would only charge us children’s prices for our meals. These were the meals that we couldn’t eat!! We refused to pay for the inedible meals and their response was ‘if you don’t pay for the food you will be blacklisted’ when asked what it meant we were told ‘you won’t be able to book a table and eat here again’ Our response; oh dear, we won’t be able to come back and eat more of this raw food Not at any point did management try and rectify our experience. Absolutely awful and to finish I watched a staff member speaking about us to a couple sitting at the bar
