Yau's House in Torridge

Very angry, on line menu priced our meal at £36 ordered on the phone told we've just had a price rise it's £41 I explained the advertised price and asked if the wanted to honor it ,they refused, left me the only option to vote with my feet, told them to cancel the order. Unhappy customers go on to tell 10 other local people about poor experience.

My husband was in the waiting area for over an hour tonight while we waited in the car with 2 infants. He asked how long, the said they didn't know! Not so fast food!

We haven’t ordered here for a while and it was really good to see that there where new items on the menu as we like to try something different every time. Staff were really friendly and the food was delicious, all tasted really fresh and definitely tastier than last time. Will definitely be back again!

We tend to stick with the same choices, unless we have friends round when we may opt for a change and additional dishes. We always enjoy the food, and it is always hot and ring in mind the food is freshly prepared, we never have to wait too long - ideally you should ring ahead.

staying nearby on a short break and decided on yaus for tonight's meal, what a great choice, portions were large and the quality very tasteful. had a 20 min drive back and the food was piping hot, we know where to come next year.

We have been going to this Chinese for four years and have loved it. Latterly all the dishes are in smaller bowls and still the same price. We must be one of their best customers but after tonight seeing the tiny dishes they now use to serve, we won’t. It’s v sad for us

Visiting my sister in laws in Newton St petrock we always use Yau’s House in Torrington even though it’s a good drive to get there, well worth it. Good choice, friendly service reasonably priced and best of all well cooked tasty food.

Always excellent but seems to have gone up another level in recent months. Veggie Kung Po and Satay ridiculously fresh and tasty. Genuinely, some of the best Chinese food I have ever eaten and served by the loveliest family you could wish for. So lucky to have Yau's House in town, thanks all

Absolutely fantastic food, best takeaway in the area and we have tried Torrington, bideford and Barstaple. Lovely lean chicken breast unlike what is used in others, friendly service and 2 meals for £20

Excellent food, great service, food is hot, staff are polite and friendly, they have never disappointed so far, only down side is they are cash only

Really reasonable prices, large portions and very tasty. This is our local chinese takeaway and they never disappoint. Food is always fresh and ready to collect within 10-15 minutes. You won't be disappointed :-)

On holiday staying with relatives in the area. Decided to use this one instead of the usual one in Holdsworthy. In my opinion definitely better. Friendly fast service. Good menu choice. Only down side cash only.

Delightful family run this excellent takeaway. Have pandered to my requests for off-menu items and delivered with aplomb. Can particularly recommend the satay, just delicious.

After dismal, disappointing and mediocre takeaways at various other locations over the years, on finding Yau's House we were extremely happy. Great service and delicious meals, and - despite what some reviewers say - they DO give free prawn crackers away! Definitely checking in here again soon.

Whenever I am down in Torrington I more often than not order my favourite being sweet and sour chicken balls. The balls are a much more manageable portion size than some takeaway places I've been to but the sauce was just too watery for my liking. Just personal preference, is all.

Probably the best Chinese take away at Great Torrington. Food first class. Service out of this world. I would recommend them to all my friends and family.

Its local and ok. Needs more competition to keep it on its toes. Dont even get free prawn crackers with a decent order!
