Best chinese I've had in ages, all the meat was so tender. Deserves higher rating

We got a takeaway whilst here on holiday, price was as you would expect for a takeaway but the food was excellent. Hot and sour soup filled with various meats, chicken satay skewers had massive chunks of meat on them, same with the sweet n sour balls and the mains. Well worth a visit

Love the food from Mr Ho's Chinese takeaway. Never lets you down, always hot and fresh, always go there when I'm in the Bideford area on a break.

Used to be the best but after tonights takeaway I will be finding some where else, after spending £70 on food and it was very disappointing, no chilli in the crispy chilli beef and no sauce so as dry as anything, the squid was not spicy either prawn toast was burnt

We seem to have a few delivery problems now and again.Lovely place and nice food but we ordered our Chinese at 18.30 and got told 1 1/2 hours, still not arrived by 20.35 so rang up and normal reply of very busy and our apologies but it’s the next one out. It then arrived at 8.55 and very luke warm to say the least so in the micro it goes and end up eatiing at 21.15. Not even a complimentary bag of crackers. Thanks mr Ho’s

Disgusting! Been waiting for 3 hours for 2 foo youngs and 2 portions of chips! Glad my order was no bigger! Feel sorry for the delivery guys!

Shocking delivery time and customer service. Ordered chow mein and a soup at 6pm and it turned up almost 3 hours later at 8.45pm. Food is not that great to be honest and definitely not worth the wait and numerous phone calls to see where the delivery is, definitely go somewhere else!

Ordered a takeaway meal at 5:15pm on 24th Feb for collection at 7:15pm. Arrived at 7:15 and had to wait over 45 minutes past the collection time for our food. This is totally unacceptable and will be the last time we use you. It is a shame as the food is nice but the ordering system is terrible. Other restaurants seem to manage to estimate the pickup time right so how come you guys get it so wrong. It ruined a rather expensive treat. You need to improve - no excuses about being "very busy". If you are busy then don't take walk in orders while you prepare orders for people who have booked in advance. Give a sensible time to collect when people order by phone. My wife was stuck in your waintg area for 45 minutes and I was left waiting in a freezing car wondering if she was ever coming back. The oven was left on for 1 hour at home warming the plates too. It's just not good enough!

Good food hence lots of customers which effects wait time but we'll worth the wait

Best Singapore chow mein going. Always friendly staff on the phones and the chefs will even tweak dishes to your liking! 10/10 best Chinese takeaway in bideford by far!

One of my favourite chinese shops in bideford, tasty hot food that they home deliver if required. Good selection and average price. Freindly staff and if you have any special requests like chow mein but with sweet and sour sauce they will do it. Atmosphere is relaxed and quiet.

Before covid we had regular deliveries and last night 20th October 2023 was our 1st visit to Mr Ho since then..... our meal was excellent. Very large portions of tender chicken in our chow mein, crispy chicken balls and chicken curry. We enjoyed their meals previously but this was delicious and regular visits will definitely resume.

Best Chinese take away for years, Visited the area in holiday and ordered over the phone. There was a long wait to pick up but by the time I had driven and parked it wasn't a problem. Ordered the Duck Chow Mein and Chicken Curry and both were excellent. Very large portions full of meat.

Ordered chow main,beef curry& rice at 17.30& it's now 21.15 & we are still waiting for our meal,have rung twice n just told they are busy,sorry but 4 hours for a takeaway,that is bad 👎 mangerment,have been using Mr ho for years n never had to wait this long,didt even get a sorry 😞 so will never use Mr ho again,not that they would worry but if they keep customers waiting more then 2 hours for food,they will lose customers n the food when it did turn up,actually at 21.20 n it was just warm n not enjoyable

Picked up a takeaway here. Was really pleased to see a decent menu for vegetarians that included tofu. Had peppery tofu and mushroom chowmein. It was quite a long wait, but all freshly cooked. Tofu was lovely and crispy. Chow mein was a bit bland, but soon perked up with some chilli sauce and soy sauce.

Our favourite Chinese food in Devon. We love the King do ribs, the chicken curry, the special fried rice Everything we have had has been great.x

Once again Mr Ho provided a delicious Chinese meal for a family of five. What a lot they give you! Delivered to an out the way spot a few miles outside Bideford. Delivered by a cheerful Scot. Top marks.

Popped in and ordered a couple of meals, a short wait and a Chinese curry with chips and a satay chicken with rice. Very tasty and contrary to others the portion was was very good. Will definitely return

Ordered a takeaway for 6 of us on a busy Saturday night, not expecting perfection as they were incredibly busy, but we were all blown away by the standard of the food….it was absolutely superb, one of the best Chinese takeaways ever, absolutely nothing to find fault with!

Ordered said pick up in 1 hour 15 minutes got there waited 30 minutes in shop they concentrated more on deliveries really disappointed

Great quality food. It's always busy which says it all really. Portions are of a good size. Never had a poor meal. Best to place order by phone early Fri or Sat evenings otherwise its a long wait! Highly recommended.

Have had two takeaways from here recently and both have been delicious, tasty sauces and tender meat. Meal ready for stated pick up time too. I’ll be back…

After waiting half an hour got my order got home after a 20 minute drive to find I had wrong order queried it at the till when I picked it up said j had correct order wasted 25 pound but a not a nice finish to end holiday

Mr Ho delivered our substantial order to a remote location. The food was delicious, still hot and delivered on time. It was also very reasonably priced.

Ordered delivery via phone from Mr Ho. The only Chinese in bideford on just eat let us down ordering at 9.30pm. No such problems at mr Ho, and very happy with this as Mr Ho was a great Chinese, chicken satay absolutely fantastic. Don't waste your time with the takeaway on just eat and give these a ring.

After being told about an hour maybe hour & half for delivery , ringing up 2hours after ordered to be told it’s next to go out to then it taking 3hours in total to come. Won’t be ordering again.

Mr Ho is our first choice when we want a treat - the king do ribs are fab-u-lous and the chicken curry is really good too. Our girls love the chicken and pineapple, but everything we choose is very well received, which says something for teenagers!

Yummy yummy! One of the best King prawn Hong Kong style, very good Beef with Spring onions and ginger and rice. Portions are smaller than in other places although the quality and service very good.

i called in to Mr Ho for a takeaway not knowing it i could get gluten-free,but the lady in the shop was very helpful and knew about gluten-free she cooked me chicken and mushroom stirfry with stir-fried veg what can i say it was a gorgeous can't fault it at all and lots of it my husband is not gluten-free so he had chicken chow mein and said that was lovely as well will differently go again

Mr Ho has seriously gone down hill recently. I had to have my second choice of meal as apparantley some things that appear on the menu they don't actually do anymore and when it eventually got to me ( an hour and a half wait) it was terrible, had sweet and sour vegetables and it was luke warm and the sweet and sour sauce had obviously been watered down, it was more like a veg soup and had no taste. Not to the usual standard I had come to expect from Mr Ho's. Unless things change back to the way they were I would not reccomend. There are better takeaways in the town. Review from 3 years ago :- Tried Mr Ho's tonight as we fancied a change, and they do have a few nice additions that you don't find on some standard Chinese menus. It was easy to order and the food came within the time stated when we ordered. When the food came it was hot and was tasty.

My last collection from this takeaway I observed they were still serving customers without face masks , safety of customers should be paramount to income, protect your customers Mr Ho corona 19 kills customers.

Ordered food at 5:40. Was told 1 hour- 2 hour delivery time. Rang up at 7:45 asked where it was, told they was just waiting for the driver and would be ours next. Hour later we are still waiting for so called driver to bring our food. Definitely would not recommend for delivery, avoid at all costs.

Didn't like this place at all. The food is too salty and artificial taste on the sweet and sour sauce. It was like jellyish. I won't go again, but seemed to be popular with the local community.

After a long drive to the area I found myself craving a Chinese beef curry. These can be very variable but this one matched my favourite one from home almost exactly. Full of flavour as I like it and a good portion of meat in the dish, the boiled rice that it came with was a little bit sticky and dry but it was a great meal and hit the spot. I also had the sweet and sour ribs. There was only one bit of pineapple in the sauce which wasn’t what I am used to elsewhere but the sauce was flavoursome and the ribs very meaty and enjoyable. Thank you !

I hav3 been surprised by some of the mixed reviews about mr ho’s as I have never had a bad meal from here. I had spring roll and sweet and sour chicken and it was delicious. I went and collected it and it was ready when I walked in. One of the best Chinese takeaways in the area

Very rude staff waited three hours rang them back and they said the driver didn't know where it was and we tried ringing bit they didn't so long story short don't order from here unless you wanting dissapointment

We parked up outside to order a takeaway from them but then noticed a member of staff wearing a grubby apron, smoking. He finished and walked straight back into the kitchen and continued cooking dishes. For those who don’t know, there are windows that allow you to watch them cooking. Great idea but for us, this has worked against them. There was no way he washed his hands in the time taken to go back into the kitchen from the front door!If you do not care about any level of hygiene then I’m sure this would be one to consider.

Best value for money chinese, we have tried alot of chinese restaurants since the change of owners at our local. Alot of the places we have visited have been awful, here the food is cooked properly, has lots of flavours and never let us down! Only problem is trying to phone as they are always busy

Best Chinese on the planet in my book. I no longer live in the area and every time I visit my friends and family, I make sure to have a Mr Ho night! Roast Duck Hong Kong style is my fave but also love their Fancy Chicken. Spring rolls are yum, as are prawn on toast, ribs, duck pancakes... I could probably go on listing yummy options! Only niggle for me is that they used to give complimentary prawn crackers which has now stopped. Shame as that was a nice little added bonus in comparison to their competitors. All in all - Mr Ho does top notch food!

Used to be one of our favourite Chinese takeaway spots but in recent months... years perhaps? It's definitely declined in quality and the price has increased. It's still okay for a bog basic meal but with so much competition in the area, I'd be hard pressed to go here.

We called up to check where our order is and they forgotten to even do it. We’ve been waiting for over an hour and a half for our food. This isn’t the first time it has happened - Id order well in advance!

A very good Chinese takeaway, phoned order, colled it at the agreed time. The food was hot and freshly cooked. The singapore noodles were especially good. Will call again soon.

I ordered chicken chow mien, salt and pepper chicken, crispy chilli beef, egg fried rice, ribs, curry sauce and prawn crackers, came to £26.00, I believe the prawn crackers were free. I ordered on the phone for collection. When I went to collect my order, I approached the desk and then took a seat and waited, and waited, and waited, 25 minutes passed by, I allowed some time as it was Friday night but I eventually asked the lady how much longer it would be. The lady’s response was terrible, she had a really poor attitude and started to blame me saying I did not let them know I was there and then I was accused of not paying. Eventually she realised my order had been sat on the counter waiting, she simply looked at me said, there you go it’s only been there for 5 mins, not even an apology. This appalled me.

We’ve tried most of the Chinese takeaways in the area and always go back here specifically for the Singapore rice noodles and dry ribs. Delicious! And the best around.

Ordered takeaway to Premier Inn. Ordering fine and delivery quick. Very poor food. Chicken chow mein slimey with minimal chicken. Veggie sweet and sour 50% sauce (sugar and vinegar). Strange combo of veggies for Chinese too. Spring roll also slimey. Everything mush. No idea how anyone could enjoy it.

Wonderful food, very fast delivery and incredibly honest staff. We were charged too much on a card and the delivery driver had the extra we had been charged in his hand on delivery. Best place in the bay for Chinese.
