Yates Printworks in Manchester

I came to this bar only last night for the first time with 6 friends and the experience was very disappointing which ended up with us leaving after only having one drink due to a very rude and nasty bar member who insisted to make a point of making us weight until being the last people at the bar to be served, His words were " have I told you your next no !! No you can wait till I've served everyone else" everyone at the bar said I was next but he said he didn't care, What a poor customer service and a let down to this company, from a recommended bar Not recommended from me no way

Booked a brunch for ten got there stated we had booked for a meal only, it was booked weeks ago and double checked if everything was fine, they said yes all well. BUT NO IT WASN'T, Lost probably £500 plus that day.

this is mine and my boyfriends go to spot and he asked me to be his girlfriend here, the quiz on wednesday nights was the peak of my life id do it again it a heartbeat. the music was super fun and the atmosphere is lovely, the 2 for 1 deal has got me drunk many times (love it)

Came this afternoon served by Callum who was very helpful with the wines. Fairly busy with the football and a good atmosphere. Food came quickly and was super tasty, plenty of veggie options 👌🏻

We’ve just been for a bottomless brunch me and my partner and was amazing. Couldn’t be more attentive. Our server was dannilea. She really was amazing and couldn’t do more for us. Amazing place and will definitely be back.

This establishment lost out on a group of 13 people eating and drinking on Monday 9th September because of a very rude and arrogant man. We came in through the unlocked door at 11.27am and there was nobody around. This of course did raise suspicions that the place wasn't open, but upon looking at the website and seeing that it opens at 11am we decided to take a seat. We sat for around 15 minutes before anybody showed up to be told "you need to leave as we don't open until 12pm" in a very abrupt manner. I directed him to the website showing an 11am start, and he rudely replied that we couldn't stay because it doesn't open until 12pm, ignoring what I had just shown him. When I questioned it, he said "that must be a mistake". We considered waiting the short amount of time until it "opens" but subsequently decided that we didn't want to spend money in a place that employs such arrogant and rude people.

Bottomless brunch for a friends birthday. We were very well looked after by Taff. Drinks kept coming!

Had a great visit here. The staff were really helpful and showed us the Mixr app to get a free drink and start to use. The cocktail selection was good and offers in place at the time. Nice decor and atmosphere.

Never knew it was taken over, went here for my usual pre concert food and drink. The decor is great but the volume of the music is horrendous. The bar staff could not hear what I was ordering, I had to point to the pumps. I sat next to my partner and we couldn't hear each other. I love music and think it adds to the vibe but this was at 17:30 and it felt like being in a nightclub. I can't comment on the food as we left and walked up to the next bar to get food .The prices of the food has also doubled from the previous owners but the main reason we left was that it was far too loud to the point you have to use sign language

Bottomless brunch was absolutely banging. Quick service and Kev was friendly and attentive. Would come again.

We ve came over for the Real Madrid- Atlanta game and it was fantastic, the beer was spot on and KEVIN looked after us with everything we needed he is a key to the bar! Definetly recommend this for football matches!

went here for the england game on saturday night and the place was absolutely bouncing had food and plenty of drinks which were all amazing, would definitely recommend the loaded fries and all the cocktails where different class, will deffo be coming back for the semis on wednesday

Came in for a work bottomless brunch and couldn’t ask any more from Amy and grace, took care of us amazingly, 10/10 cocktails and pint selection can’t ask for any more

The renovation of Yates to Tank and Paddle is 10/10! Such great interior and a proper good vibe in there! A great atmosphere, lovely staff, top quality food for a good price! And of course, the 2-4-1 cocktails! Can’t go wrong with a night in tank and paddle! Definitely recommend and will definitely be going back on the regular! X

2-4-1 Cocktails was a good deal but you have to get 2 of the same for the offer to work. Either way they were good and the service was fast! Good space to watch sports.

Wow went in the other day with friend and family for the opening, the place looks great, food and drinks were amazing and the atmosphere was really good!! I can’t wait to go again and get the bottomless brunch booked !!!

Very welcoming atmosphere, the revamp has made great improvements to the lay out and the food was amazing,fairly priced and all meals came out together within 15-20mins . We had a family gathering here and Tank and paddle were very accommodating for all ages . Looking forward to going again to try out the bottomless brunch .

Extremely limited menu today, I ordered mac and cheese as it was only 1 of 2 veg options on the menu. Said it would be served with garlic bread but none came. Tasted like a micro meal, the cheese was not grilled so it was just gloopy cheese.

Hiya Yates Manchester. My experience was fantastic and Manager Kevin always goes out his way to make me and my other half and little lad welcoming.. and always goes out in way all the time to meet the service and food and drinks always deilver on fast service which is good. Am always happy to go to yates as I know what service am always going to get. Looking forward to seeing the change when Yates have a refurb. I defo be back.. I always feel that give credit where credits is due and look forward to being my mum in to your pub soon when she comes up From Nottingham soon.. keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Ordered some food which never arrived. Table next to us ordered similar and the staff gave the food to them - an innocent mistake which can happen. But when this was pointed out, both managers basically called me a liar and said “that’s not my problem”. The table next to us then very kindly bought us the food again, but it shouldn’t have required that. Genuinely shocking service, over £9 of chicken goujons. Laughable. Nice to know Yates likes its customers! The goujons were also rubbish in the end btw!

Great experience for 8 of us (4 kids) having tea before Monster Trucks at MEN. As others have said it was cold but we were near the door and it didn’t distract from a lovely atmosphere. Staff were all great, especially Dannilea who was friendly, attentive and really looked after us. Burgers, kids meals and mixed grills all good quality and reasonably priced, and decent selection of wine. (Not in any way a complaint but just a note to remind customers to order the desserts with the kids meal deal at the time with the mains, as my local haunts allow you to request them later - they’re minimal cost anyway so no issue). Also shout out to the door man who was great with assisting us find a nearby shop for crayons for our little uns! We had a great time, thank you all!

My favourite place to go, can watch football, rugby and so but have a very mixed experience 🙄 A couple of months ago we ordered meal deal with drinks. We were waiting for 20 minutes, no drinks arrived, just the meal. Went to ask the staff and they said the will bring our drinks. They brought our drinks and a guy from upstairs kitchen also brought our drinks 10 mins after he brought our meals. So we got drinks x2 (wanted to pay for the extra drinks but the staff said it's OK and it's for free as an apology) so it was good after all the confusion. 3 weeks ago we went again for a quick drink before waiting for a train and the My Pub app placed an order to the pub near Yates (even if I have chosen the Yates Printworks) but we weren't allow to enter the other pub because my husband's son is 14 🙄 The last visit was on Saturday - ordered drinks, waiting 15 mins, had to go inform the staff, was reassured they will bring our drinks in a min, another 10 minutes, no drinks yet, went to inform the staff, they said it will be in a min. I offered I'll wait and can take drinks to our table on my own but was reassured they will bring it. No drinks arrived, so my husband went to the staff again and drinks were at our table 35 mins after ordering them. Then we made a meal deal order and everything arrived in 5 mins 🫣 It's a great place, I love going to there but better to go and order in person than using the My Pub app!

Popped in for some drinks and lunch while in Manchester. Service was quick and food was alright for the money, some dishes were a bit bland for the price though. Reason for less stars is because the place is not maintened well at all, the chairs were rough and falling apart, there were residue/imprint marks on the wall from old pictures which hasn't been touched up and we used the accessible toilet, it was not clean and the sink was falling off the wall, paint over the tiles and the lock didn't seem secure.

Lovely establishment in a promising area, great staff and wide selection of drinks. It’s just a shame you need an artic coat to enjoy your evening. You could store meat on the counter it’s that cold!

Dj needs some practise trying to mix Dr Dre in with a dance song is never going to work without speeding it up. Dj loves his double beats ( too high tempo) but the staff behind the bar are friendly enough and service is with a smile

Its a Yates. Cheap booze, cheap and cheerful nice food, good atmosphere and friendly helpful staff We dad a couple of drinks there before heading for the train home, just a 5 min walk to Victoria train Station . Will definitely call in there again

Low score for the temperature of the place alone. Didn’t eat during our time here, but the drinks were good. Absolutely freezing, had my hood up because it was cold. Got told to take it down by bouncer. Requested that the place turned the central heating on as it was absolutely freezing (-4°c outside). Bouncer couldn’t do anything about it (understandable). How can a bar in central Manchester be so cold. Freezing. Moved on.

We went on a busy Saturday night while waiting for a train out of Victoria station. Service at the bar was quick and the bar tender kept an eye on who was next in the queue. The drinks were very good value. There wasn't really anywhere to sit but we managed to stand at the end of a table. We noticed afterwards that there is an app you can order off, but we didn't try it this time.

The place was not busy but it was cold! The music was loud and we struggled to hear each other. We ordered a bottle of wine and the bartender had to wash two wine glasses there and then, so they were warm! Thankfully we had a huge bucket of ice for the bottle which we used to cool the glasses down. The wine was well chilled and nice. We ordered a chicken wrap and a fried fish sub. Both were very poor. The fish batter was solid on one side, and a very cheap fish was used. Some soggy lettuce and a scrape of tartare - but it was all lukewarm. The chips were also lukewarm and not nice. We left quite a bit of our food and no comment made by the server. Would we go back - no way! The rating was for the wine, which they had nothing to do with thank goodness.

A massive thankyou to the manager on duty who allowed me and my partner in for a drink with my assistance dog who didn’t have her identification harness on at the time due to the wet weather! Weatherspoons could learn something from this as we were turned away because I couldn’t prove the dog was an assistance dog despite having prove of a medical condition. Big thumbs up for the Stonegate Group!!

Terrible service from bar staff

Food was absolutely shocking ordered chicken sub was beyond dry and soggy chips. Place was very busy but not an excuse for disgusting toilets

Went this evening for food and drinks staff were lovely but that's all I can say about the visit. Firstly the women's toilets were absolutely disgusting then the food arrived the worst thing I've ever tasted order a chicken sub with chips. The roll was beyond dry as was the chicken and soggy cold chips won't be visiting again

We visited and ordered off of the app to the table as advised by door staff, it wasn't particularly busy so that surprised us. Went to the bar instead and got served within minutes, then when we found somewhere to sit decided to use the app for our next drink and food. Food arrived and was really tasty and hot, however the drinks still hadn't arrived ONE HOUR LATER. Waitress said there's a backlog on the orders. We went to the bar to speed things up and the orders were not served in any order - just a scrambled pile of tickets on the bar! Ours was dug out near the bottom and order was served. We quickly supped up and left. Huge shame really.

Brilliant bar in the centre of printworks. The staff are a credit. Whether you want to go for somewhere for sports they've got the biggest projector in town, a bite to eat or drinks before and after an arena show - they've got everything covered and are super friendly and helpful 10/10 be going back

Service staff were good. However, we booked to watch boxing but was seated on table that didn't have sight of screen showing full program card so had to move. Chef was not prepared to accept steak cooking choice from menu options as didn't agree with that choice! So I had to have cooked to chef's preference!! Chef might like chewy medium rare, I dont!

Great bar for watching the F1. Food is good, choice of seating upstairs is great, and lots of drinks available. Women's toilets were very messy unfortunately, however this seemed to be a one-off, as it's been fine on previous visits. Will still visit again

Came out for drinks before the Chicks at the arena, great venue, food and drink was brilliant and good prices and offers. They had music from the band playing before to get us in the mood as well. Great atmosphere and will definitely be back!

Incredible service from Emma, she's always very polite and smiley whenever I pop in for a quick drink. Highly recommended having the 2-for-1 Strawberry Daiquiris.

Very large two story pub with lots of television screens. Prices were very reasonable for lunch specials that you can upgrade to include alcohol for an extra pound . We visited at lunch and it was not busy and the service was excellent and our food orders came out quickly.

Great place for somewhere resealable cheap and quick service. Dan and Amy were on the ball and served us with a smile couldn’t ask for more.

Would even rate it one star absolutely terrible place and the secruity shouldn’t even be on the door we went here yesterday me and 3 friends we sat down on a table that was booked and reserved for 16:30 it was only 3pm the guy come over and asked us to move which we did then After 5 minutes he came over and told us to move from another table what was reserved we we just finishing our drinks and we’re about leave and he started to get angry and abusive so the security guard came over and said mate you have to leave now it’s booking only in here i said well what was the point in letting us come in if it’s booking only he then started to get really angry and aggressive and offer me outside for a fight then I was removed from the bar by around 5 secruity guards will never ever vist a Yates again after this experience was dreadful

Visited here whilst in Manchester. Hidden away.. lots of construction goin on at the moment but lovely when u go through the doors.. very clean. Was quiet on arrival. Had food which came out very quick.. bar staff were friendly.. wish I caught name now cos she was very complimentary that day.. food was nice. Cheap, which is always a bonus. They had the football on a big screen. There is a vip area. Only small though probably get about 15 people comfortably .. small tables and larges tables available.. bandit machines to play on... an upstairs area.. I can imagine it's a good place for drinks at weekend. Music was quiet as was in the day when I was there.

In the afternoon of Thursday 4th May 2023 I was with a lady friend enjoying our day in Manchester. After having a meal at Nandos we went to the Yates bar. Just a few minutes later my lady friend walked out and was speaking with security. I walked out to see what the matter was, and said we should go back in, but as soon as we approached the entrance we were stopped by the security there. When I questioned the security guard who stopped me he said we weren't going to allowed back in because we were 'intoxicated'. I was perplexed by his accusation because we hadn't ordered a single drink from the bar. As I tried making my point, another security guard forcefully pushed me back. At this point a female Printworks female security guard approached me. I then tried talking to her, and another security guard abruptly and rudely told me to get out of the complex. I found myself on the street where 2 police officers approached me and warned me if I didn't vacate the area peacefully I would be arrested. At this point I asked on what grounds and I didn't a response. Throughout I was being forcefully pushed backwards by several security staff and the police. I spoke to my lady friend and we decided that we should just walk away quetly because it wasn't worth trying to talk to these people.

Went with 2 friends who had allergy issues with food when we asked the waitress for advice on what foods contained gluten.Val went above and beyond for us she got the allergens lists and went through all the options available to them and also double checked everything with the chef, so we came back again for lunch the next day. Thankyou Val for looking after us so well.

I had a great time at yates. It was a really clean pub with fast service. The staff were very friendly and served me very quickly. In particular Kev was very helpful with the menu and gave me a great experience!

Another great night had by all in Yates Printworks . My 20 girls out celebrating my special birthday . A very pleasant welcoming from the door staff, bar staff on point , serving with speed to ensure the wait was minimal, the dj had the crowd in great form. Love this venue , and look forward to coming back next weekend

Visited before a concert at the AO. When we first arrived it was quite but then had a stead flow of custom. The food was very tasty and the hardworking staff were very friendly. The pricing is competitive. I would be very happy to visit again when I am in the city centre.

Came in on the day of the big united Newcastle cup final and Dannilea was able to sort us out with a table from 1 o clock until the match was over. Really friendly and helpful with great service throughout the day. Came in hoping to get a nice Sunday roast which was advertised on the online menu. Unfortunately this was a mistake (not to the fault of this particular Yates establishment) and a Sunday roast was not available. Thankfully Sam was able to arrange for us to go to the English Lounge up the road to enjoy a roast and then also kept our seats for us until we came back. Fantastic customer service! Towards the end of the night we were offered complimentary shots too, which was a very welcome bonus! Definitely recommend this place for anybody looking for a place with good atmosphere and food with reasonable prices to watch a match.

Fantastic customer service from all the staff but a special mention for Dannilea and Sam. We had a small issue with the booking we had made in the Bar which could have caused a problem. We had people from Ireland and the USA in our party. They pulled out all the stops to ensure we had the best experience possible. Highly recommended a visit.

Came here with my Dad last week. I left Manchester 30 years ago and came back last week to take my Dad shopping for a suit for my wedding. At lunchtime wanted to find somewhere to take him for a "Pie and a pint" and he suggested Yates'. Good call. Had a pint of Guinness and a steak pie. Hit the spot bang on. Not been to Yates' for a lot of years, but enjoyed going back. Don't let the scaffolding outside put you off, it's businesses as usual inside. 👍😊🍻
