Yates' Bakery in Hyndburn

This used to be the best place in Accrington to get breakfast sandwiches. It used to be superb. We visited last week and it was awful. The sausages didn’t taste the same-they tasted cheap. They didn’t have any bacon (at 8 am they hadn’t sold out that early). The girl that served me was slow and grumpy. This isn’t a cheap place to grab breakfast, but we don’t mind paying if it’s good. It’s really gone down hill, very disappointing and not worth the price anymore.

2 small buns was very pricey and not the best of tastes either, YUK needless to say will not be going back here.

I have been going to Yate's bakery for years, always excellent food, pies service etc. Recently they have started an Artisan pizza takeaway, it's open Fri', Sat' Sun' 4pm til 9pm. Although it's not on the menu I asked for a meat feast pizza, it was without doubt the best pizza I have ever had (even better than in Italy)!! My better half had the La reine with chilies, and absolutely loved it, we will definitely be getting more in the future!!!!

Great food, friendly staff that always have a smile on there face. Food never disappoints. Will be sure to come back

Best bakery by far!! Everything is local produce and freshly made every day. Homemade soups are to die for- their tomato soup is better than Heinz! A must see!!

The pies and sandwiches at Yates are always good and all at a reasonable price would recommend at lunchtime for takeaways

Very nice place on the main road a hidden gem and all quality products there is a car park free just opposite the road should give a try

I have been an occasional customer for many years, calling in for a snack if I'm passing. Their fresh baked homemade pies are delicious the sandwiches and other offerings great also. The shop can get very busy (good sign) with the queue stretching outside the shop but the staff are very efficient and don't usually have to wait more than a few minutes. Great budget choice for snacks.

I went in for sausage butties for breakfast and ended up with half a dozen of their amazing home made pies as well! Friendly hard working staff, great service!

I use to go here quite often but never again after today. I requested two egg and bacon rolls and the lady took the back on off to being to the back to make them. Then a guy comes in and orders a bacon roll and the other lady gives him the bacon that was remaining. The my server comes out and suggests there is not wnoubacon for both of mine. Really? I just saw you take it through my dear..... What on earth went on there?

This is the best sandwich shop in Lancashire the pies are home made and the bread is home made well worth a visit.

Pies no longer made on the premises. Bought in and baked doesn't really make it a bakers. Sandwich reasonable but way to much cheap margarine. Better options available. Premises looking a little scruffy and no sign of a hygiene rating in the window. That is usually a reason to question things

Definately gone down the pan, been going here over 40 years and now food and service is a disgrace. Used to be homemade pies and cakes niow bought in from clayton park and are awful, the owner should spend more time going back to basics and cooking himself instead of spending so much time in bookies. Should sell and let someone with a real passion for baking take it over

Great little butty and pie shop always freshly made and very tasty I've tried most of the pies and all very nice.

Been a customer of this little gem of a bakery for over 40 years and the quality and the service has always been excellent.The shop has been in the same family for many many years and steve and the staff really know hat the customer wants. Just look at thw queues between 11am and 1.30 pm and you will know what i mean.PIES , CAKES , SANDWICHES IN aLL MANNER OF COMBINATIONS, bread muffins , baguettes etc etc.not the cheepest place in town but hey quality talks here. Give it a try.

Called in the other week for a few items for a few workmates . Cheese and Onion Pie superb . Meat pie was good but could have been bought in . BLT teacake full of filling . Lamb parcel superb.cheese and ham teacake excellent.

Visited this shop this week for a nice lunch time sandwich. I asked for a ham salad sandwich without tomatoes but with boiled egg. I received a ham salad baguette with tomatoes, cheese and a fried egg!! I asked to change the baguette and the lady told me they 'don't do' boiled egg. The price came to about £8. Would not recommend and would not go back. Terrible value for money and had to go somewhere else for lunch.

Love the meat pies from this bakers there is nothing in the local area to touch them. The staff are friendly and efficient and the prices are fair. The menu selection is pretty good with all products baked fresh daily

local shop, good choice of pies and sandwiches, all home made and fresh. always busy so go early, parking not to clever on a mainroad but worth parking nearby and walking a little

Best sandwiches ever & pies to die for.Anyone fancy a cheese n onion pie must go to Yates' they are fantastic.... but then again I cant complain about anything.

I haven't eaten anything bad from here. The cheese and Bacon pie is worth going out of your way for. The staff are always really friendly too.

Really great lil joint for breakfast and lunch. I go there every other day and food there is absolutley incredible and fresh.

Simply the best butty shop ever. I go regularly when in the area. Really good selection of fillings and freshly baked food. Yum. Lots of us who work for the NHS in the community go regularly. Going at dinner time you may have to queue but that just proves how popular it is.

Home made bread roll, good sausage and bacon and a splash of brown sauce- all cooked fresh on the premises- you can't go wrong for breakfast. At lunch choose from home made soup, rolls and cakes. Lovely.

Ive been coming here for years the food is excellent and for those young builders some gorgeous girls to serve you.

Have been coming here regularly for a number of years now. All is cooked and made fresh in the shop. The shop starts empty and as bread and food is made gradually fills with different delights throughout the morning. Come 12 o' clock the stock is then rapidly emptied as the shop is inundated with customers. There is street parking just outside. The place is a cross between a bakers and a sandwich shop. They serve excellent bacon/sausage butties from early on and cook a wide range of pies, sausage rolls, pasties and cakes. They make sandwiches on the premises that are superb and always have some soup on the go too.It's not uncommon to see people queuing out into the street waiting for their goods but don't be put off because they have lots of people serving and you won't be waiting long

We did return. Excellent quality food. Sausages are proper they taste like a real Lancashire pork sausage. Not catering sausages. Bread was fresh and delicious. Will definitely return!

Gutted. Will need to try another day. Which from the sound of things will be very soon. I had to mark at 5 for everything as I couldn't mark it down just for that.

freshly cooked bread... delicious reasonably priced, excellent produce, throughly enjoyed the goods i bought so much so i now will go out of my way to collect bread from here

Great breakfast without the mess!! Try the sausage. Open on a Sunday too. GET IN !!! xxx

Real home made products, not the mass market rubbish, make a visit if you are passing and I think you may call in again..

I love this place. Everything I've had from there has been awesome. I particularly enjoy their bacon and sausage barms- by far the best I've ever tasted, probably helped by the fact the bread is like eating clouds. Try it out! A complete hidden gem for Accrington.
