Yanni's Traditional Fish & Chips in Liverpool

Always walk past this place in the day and the fish looks amazing. Personally couldn’t eat a big lunch so 😢 but tonight we went to see the lights in Liverpool and popped in for fish and chips to eat on the way home. They didn’t disappoint !! A lovely fresh fish, piping hot and not a spot of grease in sight and the best chips I’ve had in ages. Thank you

Love this traditional chippy, had many meals now when visiting family and don't want to waste time cooking when we could be gabbing and eating, leave the stress, mess and cooking to Yannis aha. So clean, fab menu, Sandra & Yanni are a excellent reliable constant team.

Family absolutely love a chippy treat from Yannis, Regularly have fish, chips, sausage dinners, and burgers. Yanni & Sandra take such pride in their british chippy menu, food, preparation and hygiene that we would not use any other chippy. Prices reasonable, tables constantly cleaned ready for next customer to sit, we always take out but amazing the 100% pride they take is admirable.

Advert says seafood, fast food, British. Sorry, it’s not British if it chooses not to sell pork sausage. A great chippy serves the people, not themselves.

Yanni's came highly recommend and I could understand why. A couple shared a large fish and chips and it filled us up just right. It didn't make us bloated and we wanted to make room for dessert. The batter was light, not greasy at all, chips were lovely, imagine if they were cooked in beef dripping 🤤. Our first experience at Yanni's was a beautiful one. Looking forward to going back soon.

We live in Hull and have over 100 Fish+Chip takeaway and I can honestly say the Large Haddock, Chips,Mushy Peas was one of the Best i have ever had the batter so light and crispy and the Haddock so chunky and moist the chips nice and brown not white like a lot of chippy and lovely mushy peas the staff are very quick to serve you and very friendly and polite I cannot praise this enough we come to Liverpool 4 times a year and now I know where it is we will be back every time we visit thank you Tony +Pamela Osborne x

Always look forward to a 5* Yanni’s chippy treat when in home town Liverpool, wish i could visit more often. Found Yanni’s years ago and ordered food several times now. Always trusted, tasty, fresh, lovely chips and food along with friendly owners/staff spotlessly clean food preparation and chippy. Im looking at menu now and not there again until next week 🤣

My husband and I both had fish and chip dinners. While the mushy peas were fantastic, we didn't love the fish. We were expecting something more like we had in Dublin.

Small, unassuming but the best Fish and chips in Liverpool. always busy and small outside dining but you just can't beat it.

Déçu, seul le poisson est bon, pour le reste, sauce industrielle dans un petit sachet qui ne suffit pas pour la taille du poisson. Et des frites molles sans goût. Petit resto avec peu de tables.

Being from Nova Scotia we eat fish & chips regularly and this was up with the best I have ever eaten. I was fansinated when we asked what the difference in a small or large order of fish when the cook showed me the size of the fresh fish fillets that were to be cooked. We picked 2 small pieces and a large fries which more than filled our needs. Price was exceptional for the meal we ate.

Visiting Liverpool to see a concert & came across this fantastic chippy. Delicious, service fantastic. Will be going back next time we visit Liverpool

Met my wife from work, and we went into town. I'm not a big burger bar fan and I suggested we went to Yannis. We ordered large fish chips and a fishcake between us, and two cans of cloudy lemonade. The meal was served in a beautiful little box, fish was excellent and so were the chips, and the fishcake was too. Came with tartare sauce and a slice of lemon. We were both full after it, and it is one of the best cafe fish and chips I've ever eaten. The staff and owners are lovely, the other diners were lovely, some locals and tourists for the footy match, and the price was around £14.50 which is excellent for a sit down meal. Thanks! Recommend this place and will be back soon.

This was my first proper fish and chips experience and it did not disappoint. Really big fish and loads of chips and a cup of peas for £11. The fish and the chips were crispy and hot and really tasty. However if you are planning to visit here it is cash only so bring some cash with you

Hands down, without a doubt, this is the best chippy in all of England! The food is fresh and is made to order. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was very clean. We sat outside both times we visited and each time we observed the staff cleaning each table after a customer left. When I return to Liverpool, I know this is a definite must-do! Bravo Yanni's!

Seemed really good but when we got home they had missed a whole fish from our order. So quite disappointing as the place isn't cheap.

Regresé a Liverpool 2 años después de mi última visita. Comí en Yanni's y no me decepcionó. Ración grande, bien presentada y muy sabrosa. 2 más barato que en Bristol, y puedes sentarte. Los guisantes blandos son una porción grande y se presentan en una tina separada.

A escolha deste restaurante deveu-se ao facto de ter um tempo relativamente curto para visitar a cidade portanto, procurou-se um lugar que apresentasse, aparentemente, um serviço rápido. O pedido consistiu num “doner burguer, chips & salad”, no “small fish, chips & peas” (naturalmente) e bebidas. Ambos os pratos tinham um bom sabor, cumpre com o desejado, tendo em conta o conceito do estabelecimento. A relação preço-qualidade é igualmente atrativa: é possível cada pessoa comer uma refeição por menos de £7 (dependendo do que se pede, obviamente). Uma boa escolha!!

ハードデイズナイトホテルに宿泊中今日はフィッシュ&チップスを食べようと検索した所近くにあったので行く事にしました。カードは使えず現金のみ。英語能力ほぼゼロですが店頭にあるメニューを見てあらかじめ商品を決めてからレジに並んだのでスムーズに注文できました。大きいサイズにしたのですがとてもボリュームがありました。(写真奥がフィッシュ&チップス、手前がカレー&チップス)とても美味しいし値段も安くて良かったです。持ち帰りも出来るみたいです。

On my first trip to Liverpool in February 2018, I discovered Yanni's. In my day to day life I do not eat fish and chips often. While in Liverpool recently (for four nights), I ate Yanni's three times. It is that good!

I went there last month and ordered two Fish and Chips. As i needed to take my meds, i asked for a glass of water, which was refused. Never again. Surly server.

The chip shop has just a few seats inside and a couple of tables on the pavement outside.The staff were friendly and very efficient as there were huge queues, the fish especially was delicious and reasonably priced.We were lucky to get a table,as people were waiting to sit all the time we were there.

We ordered fish&chips; and it was such a delicious meal, the fish was so fresh and soft! Just beware that the dish is actually very big (not that there's anything wrong with that), I took the big portion and couldn't finish it. Would 100% recommend!

Yanni's is a small "street food" type restaurant, but they have absolutely the best fish & chips (plus a huge menu) and the staff is funny and very friendly. When asked about the sizes of the small and large fish and chips the cook humorously held up the two fillets. By the way, the small is probably more than you can eat. Seek this place out and enjoy a great meal.

Generous portion of chips, fish always cooked fresh to order and a good size, always crunchy on the outside and delicious on the inside. Can not recommend Yanni's enough.

I always visit here when in Liverpool. Fish and Chips always freshly cooked to perfection. Wonderful friendly staff and great Service. Generous portion sizes come with all condiments. My friend was very impressed we will definitely be visiting again soon.

I did some research before our day out in Liverpool, and we decided on Yanni's based on location and reviews. It was VERY busy, which is always a good sign, but we did get a table. Order was taken right away, by a very nice woman at the counter, who told me she would bring it over.

Been to Yanni’s a few times, just for chips with gravy or curry sauce, chips are good and plentiful, always seems to be busy, some good deals during lunch hours.

Yanni (whose surname escapes me) is a veteran chippy owner and took over the premises when it apparently burned down a few years ago. Well known by the locals for generous portions and everything cooked to order, it’s a popular place. More than satisfied with the small fish dinner which was meticulously cooked by the boss himself.

Grub was good. And even when the English lady on the counter tried to charge me 10p for extra tar-tar sauce, which in that moment I didn't have any change she gave me the benefit of the doubt!!! Because of this I enjoyed an amazing experience on the food an amazing service by the Kurdish people there and I went large on the tar-tar sauce at no extra cost

This is my second visit to Yanni’s and it did not disappoint. Freshly cooked in a light batter, the cod was tasty and the chips were great too. Service was pleasant, a nice smiling lady at the counter taking the orders and delivering the meals to your table too. A family business well worth visiting

Called in at a quiet time so my 2 large fish were cooked to order,I like it that way. The portions were good and the fish was fresh,but unfortunately they had been overcooked by at least 3 minutes and subsequently the fish was very dry. Not easy to get fish right but was spoilt by the cooking. Hope the owners take this on board because the business is clean,tidy,and friendly but would be even busier if the cooking was better.

You get what you order when requesting fish and chips. Really delicious tartar sauce and curry if you order some. Worth it as is traditional.

Saw a review online about how good the chip shop is, so we had to try it. We weren't disappointed - the fish was cooked fresh, with a crispy light batter. Chips were also fresh and pipping hot. We chose to eat in (at no extra cost), the food was brought to our table. The shop is in a very convenient location in Liverpool's main shopping street. Prices are very reasonable.
