Yangs Chinese Meals to Take Away in Edinburgh, City of

Food was only ever average, we ordered on Friday night. They didn’t deliver, took our card payment and we’re not picking up the phone.

Recibí el pedido rápido. Agradable y caliente, buenas raciones, personal amable. Este es un pedido de devolución. Sin embargo, no se moleste en pedir la entrega un viernes o sábado. Solo reciba una entrega de domingo a miércoles.

La orden llegó sin una de las comidas. Luego telefoneó y se aseguró que llegaría en 15 minutos. . . Llegó 45 minutos después. Luego encima de eso estuvo despierto toda la noche con intoxicación alimentaria. Decepcionante. Nunca ordenará de aquí otra vez

We ordered this from Just Eat, if I had read the reviews on here, I wouldnt have bothered, but glad I didnt read any. We had to wait about an hour, but knew this when we ordered, so it was fine. The food was hot and very nice, although the curry had loads of onions to bulk it out, but lots of Chinese take-away seem to do this.

Desde aquí pedimos una entrega no solamente tome 2 horas en llegar a la comida era asquerosa. Y gloopy descuidadas, viscosa. Realmente decepcionado! No pedir de nuevo aquí no podía comer lo que nos dieron, que no es genial como nos estábamos muriendo por el tiempo que llegó.

Food was 30mins late, abused over phone and told to not order again if I wanted my food on time! A 70-80mins wait is a long time to get delivery, however being 30mins later than that is joke. Was also refuse the option of speaking to a manager, as “speak no English”. Food was mediocre as it had obviously been sitting in packaging for long time. DO NOT EXPECT ANY SERVICE FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT!

Ordered a meal at 725pm it eventually turned up at 930pm wrong order !! Husband called them and they call him a lier so we pack up the dinner take it back to get our money back ,,,,, best thing we done as we have now found a nicer Chinese take away! Yangs are a disgrace !

Just ordered a meal here and it is without a doubt the worst food I've ever had. Burnt noodles, cheap chicken and poor quality all round. Save your money.

Never had a bad experience from here. Shocked to read the bad reviews. Last time food arrived in 15 minutes even though I live a 5 minute drive from yang's. Food is always delicious, so happy to find a good Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh. Favourites are chicken blackbean sauce, satay, salt and chilli chips...amazing :)

Ordered a takeaway to be delivered at 7.30 and was told it "won't be long". After 1.5 hours and two more telephone calls to enquire where it was we ended up cancelling. My advise if you would like service - go elsewhere!

My husband and I thought we would try Yangs as it is local to us. We ordered on a Tuesday evening at 6:40pm. At 7:45pm we phoned to ask how long our delivery would be and were informed that it was on it's way. We live just a 10min walk from yangs so this was great news. 8:45pm arrived and still no delivery. We phoned to find out what was happening tonour order and with no explanation from yangs, we ended up cancelling our order and with no apology from Yangs of the long wait, despite being informed 1 hour ago that our food was on it's wait and over a 2 hour wait on a Tuesday evening which surely isn't a busy day of the week. Very disappointing.

I ordered on Just eat the delivery was extremely late. I called to be told it was two mins away. I call back again and I am told it should be there. Thirty minutes later it finally arrives, the driver tells me he only just left but finally agreed to give me a refund through just eat. I call Just eat and it appears that initially the take away lies saying they had never offered me a refund. It is a shame that they couldn't have just told the truth. Extremely poor service and the food wasn't worth the wait.

Tried Yangs tonight for the first time as our favourite Chinese was closed! :( Very disappointing take away, like the title says if you like salt..you will LOVE Yangs. After our first few bites I felt my cholesterol level going through the roof. The chilli shredded chicken was the best dish. I ordered duck in a plum sauce and it came as sweet and sour soggy duck with A LOT of pineapple and A LOT OF salt! My partner had ordered beef with green peppers and onions (tasted like fish, salty beef fish? :/ ) the dumplings... I love dumplings, but wow...These were HORRIFIC, if you want to put a jellyfish in your mouth pull it out of the sea...or out of a box from Yangs (with extra salt for that special taste) overall NOT enjoyable, and now we both feel like we are entering a salt coma. At least we now know...stick to what we know...Rendezvous!! :)

We were greeted at Yangs by friendly and helpful staff. Our food was quickly prepared as we waited, reasonably priced, piping hot and very tasty. A good experience. We will definitely be using them again.

Mal servicio y comida decepcionante. Me esperaba más, y la única palabra que puede encontrar para expresar mis sentimientos, asqueado. Además, por qué la necesidad de tanta sal??? La próxima vez me gustaría unas patatas fritas con esa sal por favor. También complementados con salsa de curry no es lo que estoy queriendo los viernes por la noche, muy decepcionados. Yo me encanta chino para llevar pero este fue un mal esfuerzo. Espero que si alguna vez tengo tan desesperado la próxima vez que las patatas fritas no están recubiertos de sal y que el pollo es realmente cocido. Lo siento por dicha ira pero tenía tantas ganas de que esta para llevar con mi novio y ha sido arruinado. Por favor tome alguna crítica constructiva de esta crítica y mejorar, gracias.

Ordered food at 18:40 was told they where very busy and it would be about an hour which I was OK. Called back after 1.5 hrs 20:15 and after a 10 min wait was told food was out for delivery and would be with me shortly. Food arrives at 21:25 !! 2hr 45mins from my initial order. I sent the food back. The delivery guy apologised and said another driver and one of their cooks had quit (I wonder why) do yourself a favour and avoid this takeaway like the plague. I'll certainly never use them again. They must have known they where taking orders the coul not fullfil.

Yang's is in an area well served by Chinese restaurants in Edinburgh. However, out of the 4 or 5 you can choose from within a one mile radius of this area of Edinburgh, this is not the best. In my opinion (having tried them all) there is no-one who can beat the Happy Palace at 145 Granton Road, Edinburgh. What's the difference between the two?On the upside for Yangs:Quick home delivery service (at least on weekdays - not tried them at weekends)Extensive menuPrices affordable Food well packagedOn the downside for Yangs:If you order Yang's spare ribs, they are full of fat, so most of the product has to be thrown awayYangs main meals are less flavoursome than Happy Palace at 145 Granton Road, EdinburghHappy Palace deliveries are quicker Happy Palace meals are less full of fat and more flavoursomeHappy Palace service is more "slick"In summary, I will continue to source my Chinese Meals from Happy Palace, but it's a shame they are closed on Tuesdays. Ordered a take away over the phone and went along to pick it up. All the dishes we had were delicious, piping hot and full of flavour. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back for more

Just had best ever juicy, tender salt chilli king prawns and seriously delicious shredded chicken with honey chilli sauce. Still really hot when arrived and delivered in half time given. WE LOVE IT!!!

I asked for no onions and the food was full of onions. It also took 1 hour 15 mins to arrive.

Delicious Salt & Chilli King Prawn and Won Ton Soup. Crispy Won Ton wasn't exactly authentic.

Ordered the chilli beef - it was dreadful. Sauce was sweet and the meat looked anaemic. Chicken chow mein wasn't much better.

A little more chilli needed on the 'salt & chilli chicken'. However spring rolls, fried rice and chIcken with green peppers and black Bean was all delicious. Will definitely be back!

Really like this place. Amazing clean food, everything's perfect. The only thing that annoys me when ordering from here is the vegetable noodle. More noodle then anything else. I'd like more veg. Other then that. I'll keep coming back ❤️

The chicken had that reheated taste and I ordered Chicken with mixed vegetable. The vegetables consisted of onions (root), mostly white plain cabbage, three mushrooms, soggy carrots a few bamboo shoots, a single water chestnut and some random noodles. Was expecting some broccoli at least. The spring rolls were ok, but again mostly cabbage and came without dipping sauce. Also I ordered the Vegetable Spring rolls and I think they just gave me the mini spring rolls they offer for free when you spend over a certain amount. Pretty disappointing, as they got a lot of good reviews. I may have just ordered the wrong thing. The boiled rice was good :)

Food was great though I made the order for half 6 and it turned up at 5 I mentioned this to the delivery person and he shrugged and said "nothing to do with me, I just deliver, phone the takeaway". Not the best service they also do not supply chopsticks.

This was quite possibly the worst take away we've ever had. The lemon chicken was dry and tough,, and tasted like it had been pre cooked. The smoked, shredded chicken was very strange, finger like portions of chicken, dry, no smokey flavour in breadcrumbs!? Sorry won't be using again. Very disappointing.

Portion sizes are massive, the chicken fried rice was excellent, chips were a tad cold tho but we're nice. Order came early, definitely will be ordering from there in the future.

This is fab for Chinese food, the pad thai tastes more like chow mein than pad thai though so I won't choose that again although it is still nice... Delivery is always fast!

I had to call the restaurant after waiting an hour, they said the driver was on their way but I waited a further 30 minutes. When it arrived, it was so hot that it was obvious that the food had not been dealt with at time of web order and only picked up after I called. The chicken in yellow beab sauce had very little sauce, way too dry, not pleasant and had barely cooked onions within. The prawn crackers were old, that stale texture you get when you try them the next day. The chicken balls were soggy and doughy. The rice had a strange texture, either old and microwaved or over fried. I am a professional chef so I know what things should feel and taste like. It was the cheap set meal for 2 but I don't see why that should affect the quality. Very disappointed, hungry and almost a whole £25 wasted.

One of the best Chinese food I ever eat

Great takeaway- they called me as salt & chilli tofu not available so ordered vegetable Thai green curry which was delicious. It was full of fresh vegetable, pak choi, baby corn, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts and unusual mushrooms( not just button). Sauce had fresh lemon grass, garlic ginger and herbs- it was so tasty. My husband enjoyed his meaty one too. Portion size generous had it for tea over two nights. Spring rolls very nice and thank you for the free prawn crackers and mini spring rolls. Looking forward to ordering again- hopefully I will be able to get my tofu dish- I have a feeling it's going to be good.

Got crabmeat soup and special fried rice. The soup was delicious was the rice could have been much better. Too much sauce on it and the sauce had a bitter after taste. Would advice ordering something else on their menu next time

We didn't get the soup we ordered. We didn't call them because the rest of the food was bad. All very greasy and tasteless.

Food took over an hour to get to my house which was annoying, the soup I ordered had spilled all over the bag so that was a total waste also. Free bottle of coke included which was nice but now thinking about it, that could have just been an accident on their part.

Our third delivery from these guys, and I am so surprised to see negative reviews on here, as every time the food has been great, and good delivery too. The mixed starter is a great deal, chili honey beef was delicious, thai green curry very spicy, but good. And the more 'traditional' Chinese dishes are always very tasty. Always good quality ingredients, tasty, large portions. Give them a try!

after reading good reviews we decided to order a takeaway from here. The food is bland has no taste an certainly wont be using again ordered special chow mein and duck with mushsroom plus a fried rice. rice totally bland and the other 2 dishes tasted of the dreaded barbecue sauce why do these takeaways think we all like that horrible fake sauce. waste of money most went in the bin.

I have had two take aways from here in the last month. Chinese food is a favourite of mine & I have been pleasantly surprised by this take away both times. Service was quick, food was well above average & very good sized portions. They even throw in free prawn crackers & a soft drink.Only one thing they need to work on: both times the drivers have phoned me as not sure about the address. Didn't delay the order though, as both times from ordering to eating within 25 minutes.

Staff are rude, give you little to no time on the phone. Order took over 2 hours to arrive, after sending a delivery driver who was lost. But instead of calling us for directions she drove round and round for nearly an hour. So obviously by the time the food arrived it was cold. Order came and after all the wait the order wasn't even right- absolute joke. Do not waste your time or money, so many other nicer places!!
