Lucky Buddha in Edinburgh, City of

Food did taste great at first however the curry sauce seemed really salty which ruined the whole meal unfortunately as the sauce was eventually poured over majority of the meal so most of the food was inedible due to this.

I phoned the takeaway to ask for allergy advice and the lady there was very helpful, even phoning me back to double check something after I placed my order through the Just Eat app. The food itself is really tasty and not as stodgy as some other takeaways I have tried. I will definitely be ordering again.

Food is always great but the time this time let them down ordered 9.30 gave a ETA Of 30/40 mins then changed to 10.40 didn't turn up till 11 no explanation no message to say sorry not good enough

Couldn't fault the food but I had to call the place and they had forgot to make the food so by the time it got to us it was nearly 2 hrs.

The app says order delivered, but it has not been!

Really enjoyed the special fried rice and the beef and peppers in black bean sauce was the best I’ve ever tasted nice and spicy with good quality beef the spring rolls were 8/10 if they seasoned them a bit better they would have been a 10

We’ve been obsessed recently but tonight’s just wasn’t up to standard at all, not sure if a bad night. Cold curry with chewy hard meat, soggy salt n chilli chips and the rice tasted very unpleasant tonight

Delivery took 2 hours and 40 minutes… completely wrecking me and my childrens night. This is clearly highly unacceptable, worst I’ve experienced from any delivery platform.

Lucky Buddha has became mine and my boyfriends go to takeaway for Chinese. We always tend to order for collection on just eat and pick it up where the woman serving us is always so nice. The chicken schezwan is excellent and the salt and pepper chips are always lovely! Every order we get free mini veg spring rolls which are always amazing too. Thank you Lucky Buddha.

Absolutely disgusting dirty shop not clean also meals are disgusting they used all the previous night before fried rice to customers Currys are absolutely disgusting people need to visit the shop before they order food or you will get food poisoning two kids behind counter are always picking there noises without washing there hand avoid this place till they clean there dirty shop the health inspections should be paying this takeaway a visit

Bang on for the price point. Flavoursome well cooked Asian food. They always throw in a little extra which is a lovely local takeout touch. My go to Asian.

The delivery took 2 hours to come, luckily the food was lovely when it came.

Been using just eat for years and this is the first review I’ve left because the food was so good. Delivered on time and delivery driver was really nice! Got the honey chilli chicken, lemon chicken, and egg fried rice - honey chilli chicken was 10/10 and the egg fried rice was the best I’ve ever had (more like a sticky rice and a lot of egg in it which I loved!). Really great and can’t wait to try more stuff from here soon

Horrific experience with Lucky Buddha today. My order didn't arrive, when I called to ask where it was the woman on the phone told me the driver insisted he had delivered it. He obviously delivered it to the wrong address, I accepted this was a simple mistake so requested a refund. Then a guy (who I assume is the delivery driver) took the phone and started screaming at me. He said it was my fault he delivered it to the wrong address because it said 'leave at door' on the delivery notes, which was a strange thing to blame on me, it was also not at my front door or any of my neighbours door's on my street (I walked around the street looking for it) . This was very upsetting and disappointing. This was one of my favourite takeaways but after being verbally abused down the phone I will not be ordering again. I feel sorry for the poor girl who originally answered the phone before this man grabbed it and started shouting at me like a child. She was actually very calm and friendly, it's a real shame she has to work with such aggressive immature men.

Food definitely makes up for long delivery times, third order from here and food is always hot despite delays to delivery. Delicious food absolutely love the “happy meal” great choices, great quality and great price.

Finally found a Chinese takeaway the wife and I both love! Every dish was very tasty and in generous portions. They threw in some free spring rolls and prawn crackers too! Also, even though we ordered on a Saturday evening, the order was delivered in around 45 minutes and was piping hot. We'll definitely be ordering again, and we certainly recommend it!

Food was excellent! Warm, tasty and great quality! Delivery took 1hr but this was the estimated time and on a Saturday evening so couldn't really complain. Will defo order again!

Batter was all soggy on the chicken obviously been sitting in the sauce to long

Ribs were so tough. Smoked shredded chicken was same flavours as salt and pepper ribs. Was nearly an hour late than estimated delivery time

Only 10 mins late and had a text to let us know what was happening which was great as knew we’d not been forgotten. Food was piping hot and delicious when it arrived. Lovely, thank you!

It's a shame but it was so late that we won't order from here again. The order was marked as delivered know Just Eat about 15-20 mins before it actually arrived..

I used to love this Chinese, and it's a shame to see it go so downhill, delivery times are soooo long and just not acceptable for food that isn't to usual standard. Not ordered here for a while and I don't think I will in the future so disappointed with my recent meal here and there are other places near by that I will now choose first. The restaurant was apologetic of delivery time but this has happened too many times recently

Mixed bag the chicken fried, veg fried rice and the chicken chowmein was really great. But all the chicken dishes kungpao/saltnpepper were terrible and some not authentic. But the pickup was really fast and we could pick in 15 mins.

The special fried rice was not worth £8.90. Tiny bit shreds of chicken and meat no prawns no gravy no egg! No slices of beef pork or chicken on top. Really mean portion. Usually I have rated this restaurant very highly. Felt I was conned with this though.

Lucky Buddha used to be great recently the prices have increased significantly yet the standard of food has done the opposite. The egg fried rice was disgusting and tasted like it came out of one of those ready to microwave packs -all stick together, grey in colour and no sign of being egg fried. Yuk! Both main meals also tasted quite chemically and artificial. The only good thing about the meal was the mini spring rolls. Very overpriced now for low quality food!

First time ordering from here and our speed delivery was delicious, thoroughly enjoyed every dish plus there was so much we have extras for later.

Food not hot. Bbq ribs were not cooked and no bbq sauce??? Usually OK but overpriced,late ,and not good food.

I'm lost for words. At the time of order, the estimated delivery was 30-50 minutes. The food arrived over 3 hours later. What eventually arrived would be best described as leftover scraps of food from the restaurant kitchen. Overcooked, cold spare ribs. Chips so obliterated in the fryer that no soft potato centre remained. Chicken 'Kung Po' that tasted like it had a jar of Tesco sauce poured over it. Brown prawn crackers that tasted slightly burnt. The best thing about the meal was the rice! Can't believe I paid for this horror. I will avoid in the future.

Smoked shredded chicken here is delicious. Much better than Loon Wah. Customer service is important to me and they were a lot more approachable too. Switching to Loon Wah.

This is our favourite chinese takeaways so far! Tried order a variety of different food and it is always so good! Totally recommended.

He estado ordenando de Lucky be por más de 5 años, esta última vez fue terrible, la carne de res desmenuzada con sal y pimienta era prácticamente "sal", el arroz frito estaba viscoso y recocido, la carne de Spring Rolls era 80% de hojaldre y el pollo desmenuzado frito con chiles de miel no se podía comer por completo, el "encuentro" estaba seco y duro, no sé si era de plástico. Los llamé y me cuelgan el teléfono. Lucky Buddha nunca más.

I've been ordering from Lucky B for more than 5 years, this last time it was terrible, the Salt & Pepper Shredded Beef was pretty much "salt" the Fried Rice was slimy and overcook, the Spring Rolls Meat was 80% pastry and the Deep Fried Shredded Chicken with Honey Chilli was complete uneatable, the "meet" was dry and hard , i don't know if it was meet or plastic. I phoned them and they hang up the phone on me. Lucky Buddha never again.

Easily the best Chinese we've had in Edinburgh. They offer a great array of vegetarian and tofu dishes (including an excellent salt and paper tofu dish), and are very quick to deliver. We are so taken by their food (and their lovely delivery driver) that we now rarely order from anywhere else! Wonderful people, and fantastic food.

One of the best chicken fried rice's in a long time, its very hard to get someone to make it hot but theirs is hands down the best spicy chicken fried rice my partner has had in a long time hats off to the chef. Its amazing!

Lucky Buddha are great we often have their delicious soups and the meat spring rolls are really fresh. Looking forward to more tasty meals in the future thank you x

I'm gonna be honest. One of the best Chinese we had,nice service,attention to details and guess what? They've got pass certificate from environmental health! You can be honest some standards are maintained.

No reply but when I do excellent food shame happening again tonight an hour to get engaged or a hang up the phone 📱 when I actually got through. Just gonna try elsewhere. Off my xmas card list. Such a shame. Disappointed to say the least

Generally quick delivery, arrives hot, tastes good - excellent veg spring rolls (If ordering the happy meal ask for them in a separate bag as they lose the crispness from the steam when they are put in the container with the rest of the meal)

My pregnancy cravings were so strong for a chicken fried rice! Ordered online at 8pm with an estimated delivery time of 850pm. Food came at 910pm which wasn't ideal. Food was good though!

Excellent Chinese food love the Black Bean sauce. Understand salt & pepper spare ribs are fantastic. As good as any NYC Chinese takeout.

I ordered directly from Lucky Buddha's website for the first time. If i'm being honest I didn't find it hugely user friendly, but I did get free delivery so I would always choose that over just eat etc. Food came in twenty minutes and was great!

I ordered salt and pepper chicken and there wasn't even any chicken, just batter. The salt and pepper chips weren't nice either. As you can see in the photos the chicken is defiantly not chicken. What a waste of £10. Never going back.

We ordered shredded salt and pepper chicken which was absolutely disgusting and as you can see from the photos there is no chicken in your salt and pepper "chicken"! It was just salty, crunchy, dry inedible pieces of batter that could have broke the fork they were so cremated! My friend also found a hair in hers which made her feel sick! The salt and pepper chips were bland and rice was stodgy and disgusting! I would never eat from here again!

I am truly saddened to write this review. I have many fond memories of Lucky Budda – it was always my go to Chinese with whom I have used for the best part of 3 or 4 years. Sadly, their gravy train has stopped and I have disembarked at the station. The last two times the food I have ordered has been utterly disappointing and without redemption. Duck rolls that are either far too dry (as if sitting under a hot plate for a loooooong time), chow mein that’s extremely oily and greasy it clogs my arteries looking at it, salt and pepper chicken wings that are again dry and seem to have been deep fat fried and extremely gloopy (no doubt the oil again) sauce in any of the curry dishes I have ordered. Throw in the fact that it was late both times and I had to chase as to where it was. Probably doing a tour of Edinburgh and the Lothians the amount of time it took to arrive. What happened guys? Have you been take over recently? Do you no longer care? You are better than this. But for me this is goodbye.

Told by someone that this place was good worst meal ever £38. for rubbish that went in the bin - wafer paper prawn small and undercooked, main courses very poor and not much in them either - I last had a takeaway from here around a year ago and it was not as bad as this - never again
