The worst chips I've ever eaten.They were cold and not fresh.I don't recommend this place at all!!!

Service was very quick. Quite expensive for what I received, but that's just the norm now for most chip shops. A little disappointed with the sausage in batter but the curry sauce made up for it as was full of flavour.

Quality of food was good but expensive.

After two months on the road in our motorhome, we've stopped at many chippys. Best portion size and very friendly and welcoming to us tourists. Recommended an amazing hike which was one of the best we've ever done. Large chips and rissole was so good we went back the next night! Shame it wasn't open but will definitely return again when in the area. Thank you!

Brilliant value for money on the food with fair portion sizes. Curry sauce and corned beef Rissole are my favourite menu items, much nicer in comparison to some other local tradition chip shops. Only downside is the only accept cash but they do have a cash machine located just outside.

We went here on Sunday and we got two chips and fish cakes which were ak but one was salty and the other was bland and the chips did not have much flavour we also had two large chips and gravy which had more flavour and we're better but were not amazing all in all good fish and chips but wouldn't be my first choice when I am down mumbles

If you are in the Mumbles and fancy Fish and Chips you can't do better than Yallops . Quality , value for money and great people , give them a try , you will not be disappointed ! Just to add , I note some people are complaining about wanting good Fish and Chips and then moaning about pricing , the prices charged here are in line with a quality product across the UK , and maybe they haven't noticed but the cost of things has risen a little lately - if they want cheaper good luck to them , you get what you pay for !

Having had a long day travelling to the Mumbles, the wife and I were really looking forward to some local fish and chips. However when I saw the prices I opted for just for a large chips. The chips themselves were fine, had better but also much worse before. However I would definitely not describe the portion as large more like a small and at £3.90 a portion, sorry but they are a complete rip off.

Nothing better than eating Chips by the sea.

Great chips, very generous portions, very tasty perfect. friendly staff, Eat in or take away park just across the road with picnic tables.

We had medium cod, chips and mushy peas. The fish wasn't very big but it was very nice. Chips were very good, as were the mushy peas. All for around £8. For reference, the large cod is £9.10.l We will be going again.

Great food, it's cash only but their is an ATM on the outside. Service was OK obviously new staff. Now the menu makes little sense. There a couple of ways to buy the same thing atvdifferent prices. The large cod isn't that large but it is very tasty. We bought cod and chips and a battered sausage. We would have been better buying a large fish meal, and maybe a sausage meal , sadly I can't remember the winning combo. But as it was there was enough anyway. Don't just rush in and order, spend minute read the menu and you could save some money. But to reiterate the food is great.👍

Back home in Spain now,and still dreaming of the tastiest fish and chips I've ever had. The owners are so friendly and patient. Very clean. See you next year guys.. xxxx

Great piece of fish cooked fresh to order. Free homemade tartar sauce was super and chips were perfect. Will be back again this weekend.

Have eaten here since I was a child and the food is always top notch! Chips are always delicious and I still all these years later travel down just for their gravy. It’s the best chip shop gravy ever! ❤️

10/10 chips, fish was crispy and succulent. Very friendly staff, especially one girl in particular - would recommend for an easy lunch if you’re in the area!

The most expensive and smallest fish portions I have ever come across. Chips were less than average quality. Cash only - claiming to be afraid of 'big brother'.

We bought 2 portions of fish bite and chips. The fishbites were so small, that if it wasn't for the batter, it could have passed for a big chip, and yet it cost a staggering £1.60! Half of the chips weren't even cooked. We bought 2 portions of fishbite and chips and two cans of Tango and the bill came to £11.90. What a rip off. Never darkening its door again. ! YUCK!

The cod and chips were really good. Best we've had for a long time. The service was excellent and the shop was very smart and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended 👌

chewiest awful chips I've ever had the displeasure of trying to eat. Dry, lacking moisture, as if they had been put in a dehydrator. Bought these passing by on the way to the beach so not possible to return to the shop. At £4 a portion, also the most expensive chips I've ever purchased. The fish portion prices were ridiculously high at £9.40 for one small cod. I had high hopes I'd enjoy these chips since the place was recommended to me by a friend, sadly disappointed and will never return.

£13.95 for large Fish and Chips,a very don’t care less attitude from whoever was working behind the counter.Fish was "ok" chips were old and re-heated,cash only...I even think they charge 50 pence for tomato ketchup,dont waste your time and money going here,not what it used to be.

£9-10p for a small peace of fish, No chips, I know fish is expensive But that's a rip off, can get twice the size in chip shops for £7 to £8 pounds With chips,k9

Good to see battered vegan sausage on the menu. Unfortunately the batter wasn't properly cooked and was soft and not crispy as you'd expect. A bit expensive too.

Lush! Lovely food… lovely welcome..fab staff reasonably priced .. we enjoyed the sausage and chips gave my nephew extra chips as well 👌🏽

Delicious!!! The food was cooked exceptionally, the fish was lovely and thick with crispy batter. The pies were well cooked and soggy and were flavoursome. The chips weren't greasy and a reasonable portion. The curry sauce was "perfect"(my daughters verdict). We would have given 5 stars but we was not impressed with the way the owner/manager spoke to the young girl who served us. She was a pleasant, efficient young lady and didn't deserve to be spoken to the way she was.

Had food here today what an absolute joke if a place super crazy prices and food was absolutely disgusting. Wife had a big plack hair wrapped up in her food. Avoid avoid avoid. Should be ashamed of themselves

Popped in lunch time on a Friday, ordered two fish and chips, lady behind pointed out Friday special, two cod large chips and mushy peas, £2.40 cheaper, food was cooked fresh and was delicious. Also able to eat inside as was a bit windy outside.Thank you.

Ordered cod and chips for the family. The website mentions large and small cod, but they only had one option at the shop which was priced at the website large price but was certainly small compared with a standard serving at my local chipper at home. There were bones in one peace which is unusual for chipper cod. The chips were very average and a bit soggy. Overall we all thought the quality was poor for the price and decided we wouldn’t go back. Also, we phoned our order ahead and was told it would be 10 minutes. We might be wrong, but we got the impression that the order wasn’t started until we arrived for pick up. Cash only. Cash? Can’t remember what cash is.

When I come to the UK, I really like eating fish and chips. But these were the soggiest chips I've ever eaten. And there was no ketchup either. Cash only. 1 Star for the very friendly staff.

My fiance and I visited today. Both had the most delicious fish & chips. I also had curry sauce. Was a bit disappointed as mushy peas & baked beans were unavailable.. but still that was only minor. Would have liked a napkin to wipe our hands after is another minor. All in all the food we had was great! 👌

Very nice treat with the grandchildren after a nice stroll on the promenade ,friendly service, and generous portions, definitely worth a visit!!!!..

Chips are always good here, only downfall is not taking card payment as we had to go find a cashpoint.

Excellent sausage & chips at good value.

Genuinely brilliant chips, probably the best I've had in 20 years. An outstanding combination of excellently cooked chips (soft on the inside with a lightly battered exterior) without much grease at all. The staff were lovely and seem to genuinely care about doing well. I'll definitely go back when I'm in Mumbles or near Joe's!

If you're down mumbles way, then Yallops is your must go chippie for really good fish n chips. Best enjoyed on a bench on the sea front with plenty of salt n vinegar. The smell will drive everyone passing by crazy and make them really hungry too. The food is always reliable. Mumbles prices, and cash only. However, worth every penny.

There were 20 of us. A lot to ask but the owner accommodated us and was very generous. Huge portions of fries and fish was good too.

It was a pleasure to deal with Nick in order to arrange food for a Summer school trip in July 2022. I sent the order to him beforehand and spoke to him on the day about twenty minutes before we collected the food. Food was cooked for 48 pupils in such an organised way, each meal was labelled and all staff were friendly. Pupils and colleagues thoroughly enjoyed the food and am looking forward to return next year. Roedd yn bleser, diolch yn fawr iawn.

Not worth one star Slow service poor quality food. 😕 best place for it was the litter bin.

Went at 5.30pm and they had no customers and no fish cooked (so not expecting any). Partner really fancied chips. Very expensive. Chips were cold, greasy and soggy. Only take cash. Thrown most of it away. I haven't reviewed on here for years, but I'm writing this review sat across the road as it was so bad. Go elsewhere. A business like this doesn't deserve customers.

I ordered small fish & large chips my partner had a large fish & Large chips then my son had chicken nugget chips & beans kids meal & 3 cans of pepsi, we was charged few pence of £28 when I questioned it as shouldnt have even come to £20 the lady stated she put everything through the till seperatley & said my son had 8 chicken nuggets when in fact he only had 4, awful will never go there again, imagine how many more people they done this too

If only I could give a zero star. We just had a small chips and a large chips with two Irish curry sauces. When the staff packed the order their backs were turned to us. They'd packed my order and I went to meet kids at the sitting points near the park opposite. Opened the two boxes and the amount served to us was beyond me. They serve so little it's absolutely disgusting actually unreal the amount the large container they used was empty we could actually count 11 chips. Considering we'd paid over £9 that's pathetic. Will have to go home now and prepare tea for the kids. I wish I had the energy to go back but it's a school night and it's going to be a busy one now!!!

Really tasty cod and chips, friendly staff, cooked everything in front of me so it was fresh. My family really enjoyed it. Would defo recommend this restaurant over Coperfish who service sucked.

On first glance this place looks very nice, however the service is disappointing. We were waiting more than 10 minutes for some chips and curry sauce, which is meant to be fast food! To have the curry sauce over the chips cost £1.80, which seems extortionate. Also, they only take cash, which is very inconvenient. I would not recommend, as the service is slow and the food is overpriced.

The first fish& chip shop I’ve come across that doesn’t do chips & cheese, that’s like a traditional!! Anyway, we was out for the day & only had a short amount of time to get food and get back to the car, so we come across Yallops, smelt amazing! But…the chips was full of grease, may as well had a bottle of grease! & they only take cash… there’s a bank machine inside that charges you too draw your money out! I don’t recommend at all

Fish and chips was rather tasty, however, I think they were running out of chips as the portion size was horrendous, especially when paying for for a large 😂 . They have the youngest boy serving the food who does not seem to know what he is doing, with the customer service being a tad below par. Could be so much better if the food portion size to cost ratio was more balanced. Probably try somewhere else next time we are in the area.

Extremely overpriced for what you get. £6.10 for a piece of cod or £10.80 for cod chips mushy Peas and tartar sauce and that's a takeaway! In comparison I had the same in Porthcawl with a side salad sitting in to eat for £5.95. I certainly will not go back to Yallops.

Very over priced. Cash only where everywhere else has gone contact less due to the pandemic but they do have a cash point in the shop which charges £1.50 for a withdrawal. The staff packing your food need more training, and need to make more of an effort and smile and be more pleasant. They ran out of mushy peas but didn't say anything, closed the box on my cod and chips and just tried to offer me a packet of sauce as a substitute, until I asked for a refund and then they found mushy peas. I ordered cod, chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce. They tried to give me cod and chips. I even had to ask for the mushy peas and tartar sauce. The young lad serving was very rude with an attitude because I asked for what I paid for. I thought he was going to freak out when I asked for forks! This place has seriously gone down hill. Keep an eye on your order as they prepare it and check it before leaving. Seems to be a common complaint.

Didn't even bother ordering, what modern day buisness only accepts cash these days?! Unless they're on a major fiddle, conveniently placed cash machine in the shop which also charges for withdrawal. Also overpriced. Go to somewhere where they pay their taxes instead.

2 fish and chips 1 mushy peas and one carton of what was supposed to be curry but was infact gravy, two ruined meals at the cost of £21. I was fuming. Might of been nice but over priced little meal each, but the fact they messed our order up with gravy instead of curry ...who eats flipping gravy with fish for Christ sake. Never eat there again.
