Stopped here for lunch. Had 3 different sushi rolls, kung poh chicken and beef noodles. All very tasty. Hot food not oily at all. Came out quickly and tasted great. Decor is quirky. Would recommend!

Small portions, very expensive for substandard products. They actually used sliced packet cheese and sliced ham inside a sushi roll! They used crab sticks in their sushi roll which was dry. Were not even generous with their wasabi or ginger. Really disappointing. Won't be ordering again.

This is a wonderful and colourful place. All nicely decorated. Pleasant staff and good food. Had a couple of beef noodle soup and one bento box. 3 teas . Came to £40 and a few pence. Definitely worth a visit.

We decided to try this place for something different and reviews seemed to be good. The place was reasonably busy. We had booked a table to make sure that we would be able to get a table. We ordered drinks and food which I had the 'chicken katsu curry bento box' which was really nice and would have it again. For drink I had the 'Asahi' which was nice. We also shared the 'classic beef bun' which was ok but not the best. Overall the decor is good, food is good. The place seemed clean. Location is quite good. Staff could have been more attentive though, although they seemed friendly

The family had an excellent weekend, lunch time experience in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. There’s an excellent choice of food and drink and our 7 year old loved the decor. This place is a little gem.

Visited early Saturday evening with my daughter. We ordered sushi, sashimi and laksa noodles. Service was quick and efficient. The food was delicious! Really excellent fresh sushi and tasty laksa. Highly recommended

Food was delivered - it arrived cold and the majority of it was covered heavily in oil to the point I could barely pick it up in my fingers. I called the restaurant to resolve this and they pretended not to understand me, and told me to “just complain to just eat” Awful service

We decided to go to yakii to try a new restaurant, and i must say the food was excellent and was served very quickly, but special thanks to one off the staff named james who was very polite and helpful and looked very busy but still had the time to make our time great, will be returning for more sushi!

Really quick service and the food is always tasty and a really good portions worth. My favourite is anything with noodles The decor is really inkeeping with the cuisine and it's really festive

It was my first visit to Yaki and I will definitely be returning :) the staff were so welcoming and friendly and the service was very quick. We ordered a range of Japanese tapas and a sushi plate and it was honestly the best sushi I’ve ever tasted! Can’t wait to go back and taste the other sushi plates as there was plenty to choose from!

We had a veritable feast of sushi, both fish and vegetarian, with a nice bottle of wine and our bill was under £50. Fantastic! The inari sushi was to die for as was the agedashi tofu. The nigiri set was super. All the rice and fish were clearly super fresh. The service was good and the staff were friendly. Will definitely go back if I find myself in Coventry again.

I had found this place just before lockdown and was happy that I could get the chance to return. The decor is amazing, staff very helpful and friendly and the food was great. Not overly expensive and well worth a try.

For me it is the best restaurant for sushi, I always go there. I love it because it is freshly made and the prices are reasonable. I loved the nee sushi with gold! Stunning… as well seaweed salad us amazing.

After a long hiatus from writing reviews, I have returned because of my experience here. The food itself was superb, but the waiter didn't check on if we were happy with the food, and the sushi was extremely delayed. Due to the afore-mentioned lack of waiter interaction, it was hard to get anyone's attention to follow up. Atmosphere was mixed as it looked Japanese, but they played Dua Lipa in the background which ruins the aesthetic. However, we have to be lenient as lockdown restrictions only recently lifted. Perhaps I'll return as the food was nice, but I think some improvements would really bolster the restaurant.

Ordered through Uber eats as I really liked their sushi when they were opened. Had few bites and pulled out a long blond hair from my mouth, had a closer look and 2 sushi rolls had same colour hair sticking out of them. Can’t be mine or my moms as we are both ginger. Contacted Uber eats with pictures, offered a partial refund. Really unhappy as we were looking forward to some tasty sushi.

I came here last week but the door was shut and I couldn’t see inside so left, this week I persevered and someone does come to the door to let you in due to restricted groupings. The women who dealt with me was lovely and helpful and the food was amazing. Definitely on my list for the future.

My Fresh Tofu with Soy Sauce appetiser was big and tasty (but I think they forgot the bonito flakes). I splurged with Torpedo Tempura Prawn which was fine but not exactly Japanese. The Nigiri Fish Set, which is all you really want out of a Japanese restaurant, was only £8.30 for 6 big pieces all fresh and lovely. They gave me a Chinese fortune cookie... let me consult it... okay that was stale and the joke unfunny but I'll give it credit for telling it in English, French, German, and what looks like Dutch, but I'll definitely be ordering from Yakii again.

Hands down Best laksa soup I've eaten since Asia!! Was amazing. Can't recommend enough. Hopefully be in Coventry again so I can come back.

The place has a large menu with a fine selection of food. I like it. The atmosphere is well decorated, good for dates and students.

I love this place. I think I’ve sampled the vast majority of the menu and I like it all. The portion sizes are generous and it tastes good for a reasonable price. Not much more to say than that really.

I am a long-time customer of Yakii Sushi and I usually order the same things each time. The food was excellent and it didn't take long for food to arrive. At first, I started eating in the restaurant and the service was always top notch. Recently, I've been having my meals delivered and the quality of the service has varied quite a bit. I've ordered food via Just Eat, their own website and Deliveroo and each experience has been average to poor. Delivery times are never met and with my latest delivery the Deliveroo rider was waiting half an hour before it was ready and I only ordered three items. I've noticed that the quality of the deliveries has dropped over the years and I have had the wrong foods sent to me. This has also happened to me when I ordered a take-away in the restaurant itself. Even when ordering well in advance with hours notice they can still be half an hour late. The value of the food is great and the portions are generous, but it does make me more reluctant to reorder, especially when they keep changing the prices and platforms they use for take-away. I hope this improves in the future because I don't seem to be the only one it has affected, which is a shame.

The customer service was so poor I have been a regular for a while however the service I received this time has completely put me off ever going again, they made me feel as though the customers don’t matter. I ordered gyoza and they gave me yasai gyoza i called one of the ladies over and she said that i never ordered gyoza and walked off after this I requested to see the manager upon which the same woman arrived and said that i pointed at yasai but she never even confirmed my order otherwise I would have picked up on it. She didn’t acknowledge my complaint despite me approaching her twice it’s disappointing because i love there food but after this careless mistreatment I don’t think I’ll want to return anytime soon .

My family and I loved our lunch here! My daughter and I both had the Singapore noodles with chicken and prawns. It was delicious. My husband had a variety of sushi rolls, and loved them. And, my son had the fried duck rice noodles, and they were everyone's favourite! Great place conveniently located near the Transport Museum and the bus depot.

So disappointed, food looked amazing but was freezing cold, 1/2 hour delay on estimated delivery time the nature of the meal meant I couldn’t reheat. Very disappointed won’t order again

A wonderful little spot for food. Great interior - we came here for lunch and were the only group dining. Food was as great as it looks in the pictures. Wanted to have the buffet option, but this is only in the evening. Very generous portions, would highly recommend!

The interior has a nice setting an is perfect for any occasion with anyone. There’s a wide range of food that are all traditional and it’s absolutely fantastic to see Japanese and Korean Dishes brought here. It’s such a pleasant experience with delicious food. Was surprised at how BOG the portions were for the price. They also serve alcohol and a variety of Japanese drinks. Already planned my next visit

The relation between price and quality is good because you pay 13 pounds for buffet although is a bit basic, it's tasty.The employees were always super friendly but we where eating buffet and saw the manager or a girl responsible being rude to the sushi girl in a way we could hear and super condescendent. There are ways of explaining things, and how they should be done.We were there for 3 hours, and the sushi girl was always attending our requests if possible and with good mood! We felt bad for her...

Good first visit . Restaurant was recomended by a friend . Came after 8pm been showed to our table . We asked the waitress if she could help us to pick a food and what should we choose buffet or table service . She was really helpful and made us feel welcome . The sushi and chicken gyoza was nice . Wasabi nice and spice as it should be . We ordered some noodles , chicken was a bit disappointing thats why I am give 4/5 . But overall we had a nice time and will be back soon

We ended up in this restaurant because the new one two doors away was closed .we had Sunday lunch and it was fairly quiet and we were greated straight away and sat down .as soon as I saw the menu I noticed that it had a bit of Vietnamese food some Korean and some Japanese foods oh and Malaysian food too,there were six of us so we tried a bit of everything,Benton box ,soup noodles , fried udon noodles and sushi with eel .but unfortunately non were good .it was not really bad but I wouldn’t have it again . Especially the bento box ,it was fried beef done with onions and green pepper but lacks any flavour and just tasted salty. The price was not the cheapest.my daughter enjoyed her strawberry milkshake though.so to conclude this restaurant is offering all sort of different types of food but not really hitting the target.

i don't mind a Chinese time to time so the food here was amazing and prices was reasonable in my eyes portions need some work as I've other for the same price but received a lot more where as here me and friend were finished and gone within the hour and still had to grab more food outside

Overpriced and weird cooked fish in the dragon roll. Lived in japan 5 years so am discerning / fussy but this was not good. Very disappointing.

Visited here on Saturday evening for the sushi buffet. Not very busy in the restaurant. Food was on the belt for about 20 minutes and then it was practically empty for 45 minutes, with only the occassional fried dish appearing. I asked the waitress 3 times during this time if any was coming out and also for some meat free noodles. She told me they were short staffed and the kitchen staff were too busy fulfilling delivery orders to cook anything for the restaurant. They still expected us to pay the full price for each of us for very little food or service. The waitresses also purposely avoid eye contact. No manager or supervisor to be seen! Disappointed as the last visit here was so good. Will not visit here again and would not recommend.

Delivery guy called me on the phone and asked to come outside but there was no one outside at the door I had waited for 5min and called him back it has appeared that he was down the street and didn't want to drive to my house. I told him could you come to the house because I am ill to what I got a respond '-as long as you are not disabled'. I was shocked. To addition to all that he didn't bothered come to the door but shouted at me to come over and take my food from the car window. Plus we asked to put extra wasabi and ginger, for which we were willing to pay extra and we received literally nothing. Very disappointing.

Love this restaurant sushi and chicken katsu curry is a new dish on the menu, really nice and a must try if you visit coventry. we also had happy hour cocktails which was nice too ,very refreshing.

I have been ordering from this restaurant for years,even though a lot of the times I had to wait for hours to have my food delivered and it would arrive cold, upon ringing the manager was not interested. Today they have simply cancelled my order, no explanation, no phone call. The food is good, when it arrives warm but the service is terrible. I do not recommend if you are ordering online. Sorry Yaki Sushi, this was my last attempt to order from you.

When i last reviewed Yakii was in love with the place and then all the staff and I'm guessing management changed and it went downhill for me from there. The food is still really nice but the attitude of the staff is just unbelievable... zero manners.

Good delivery time, but bad food quality. Ordered the oyakodon but did not look like one at all- plus there were bits of bones everywhere, making it very difficult to eat without accidentally biting one.

Food was alright, delivery time wasn't great and when it was delivered I got a phone call to go out to their car to collect it on my own in the dark. I refused so they brought it to the door but said it was policy not to. Disappointed 😞

I understand that the concept of having delivery to be that food arrives warm and with ease. However, I was let down on many different levels.

The food that arrived was already pretty cold and the deep fried bits were already going soggy and gross. The rice used was of abysmal quality bringing down the flavour of the sushi and the bento box.

First time here today and I'm happy to say I've finally found another place in coventry city centre that offers both good food, good surroundings and great service. And trust me, that's quite the achievement here! Will definitely be returning soon.

Ordered some Sushi for a night in. The order had 30 mins added on but we ended up waiting 45 mins longer than that. Tried to call. Got declined. Order EVENTUALLY arrived. We thought it was wrong. Tried to get in touch again. Followed their instructions and sent evidence of mistake. Eventually got in contact again and was met with a very rude employee who practically stonewalled us and feigned ignorance about the earlier issue. Appalling.

Been here a few times and tried almost everything in the menu, really good food sushi and seafood noodles are our favourites. Good value for money as well

Been here many times and ordered from the Menu and had a lovely experience with nice food. Visited today and chose to eat at the buffet and was surprised by a hefty price tag and little choice. When we sat down the current choices was plates of Chicken Nuggets, Spring rolls, Noodles and a few Salmon rolls with cucumber WITH CHEESE SLICES on top.

Been here a few times. Restaurant, layout and overall atmosphere is nice. Haven't been here when it's very busy though.

I ordered some vegetable sushi and a vegetable teppenyaki. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes (100 minutes) to finally come, very late. They sent me a piece of fish in some sauce. I phoned them to tell them about the wrong order and they told me I was wrong. They claimed it was a piece of soya but it was clearly a piece of fish with skin and flesh. Upon sending a photo via email the owner accepted it was a wrong order and claimed he will refund my money. He then said he was too drunk and all the drivers have gone home. Disgusting service and disgusting attitude. The owner then got threatening when I said I would not lie to JustEat to say that I had cancelled the order so that they could avoid paying the commission. Drunkards, liars and scammers. I will be suing this outlet if they do not refund the money they have taken from me for a wrong order.

Food might not be to everyone's liking but I absolutely loved it! Fresh flavours and made such a difference to the usual pizza and Chinese I have! I ordered the seasoned fries,whole soft shell crab and the Thai mango salad! Definitely recommend p

The dumplings had no filling. Ramen flavour very bland. Won't order again. Thought this was cheap for a japanese restaurant but you get what you pay for I guess. Food took 1 and a half hours to arrive from the order.

The sushi was really good except the avocado wasn't ripe and so was a bit hard and flavourless. The fries tasted stale and the 'special seasoning' appeared to be salt, sugar and chilli flakes. The sugar was a weird addition. The spring rolls were ok and so were the gyoza but it would have been better if there was a dipping sauce. 2.50 is quite a lot for a delivery charge especially as from order time it took over an hour to get here. I would probably order again if I was really craving sushi as nowhere else seems to deliver but probably wouldn't bother with the rest.

First time I’ve ordered from here, food was spot on and I really enjoyed it. Delivery time how ever was what let it down, 75minutes+ and it’s an additional £2.50 for delivery which is steep.

They were pretty late, and considering the food prices the quality was pretty poor. The chicken rice was pretty bland and I have not tasted a dryer piece of octopus in my life. If you are going to charge this much for delivery then at least be on time, if you say that you have other areas to deliver to first that wold mean that I get my food an hour later than informed then you should probably reduce the delivery charge.

I love yaki , unfortunately the delivery was ridiculous. my food had shown up as ‘delivered’ a half hour before it was. I had no help from the restaurant and the two young delivery boys both smelt and looked like they were on drugs. VERY disappointed and will not be ordering from here again.

i ordered a rainbow dragon roll, it was stated that there would be tempura prawn, crab and cucumber. when I got my food, the roll did not have tempura prawn in it, very disappointed. Called the restaurant but there was no answer. Special beef rice is quite good.

This place is terrible. I am allergic to egg. Specified no egg or mayo. Food came with mayo on. I couldn't eat it. They refused to resend food...refused a refund. Food had to go in the bin. They offered me 20% off my next order Cheeky b****** Just eat contacted them on my behalf.. They said the same. No action was inforced by just eat. I will be taking action with a complaint to trading standards. They could have killed me had I have not noticed. Food has also got much dearer here. We used to be regular customers.... not a good way to treat customers at all

We have beet here many times. Before places like Shin Ramen and Hana Moon opened, Yaki was likely the only place in Coventry you could get some decent japanese food.

The staff were prompt and it was very cheap for the standard of food that was available. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Absolutely apauling.... My family have been regular customers here since it opened. It was our choice of place to eat out and often get take away. I ordered food. Specifically stated on my order NO EGG NO MAYONNAISE. The food seems to have suddenly doubled in price. A drastic price jump...and guess what!? Mayo on my squid and crabsticks in my noodles. I am allergic!!!! You could have killed me!!!! 30 something pounds wasted. It went in the bin as it was to late to call and challenge. I had beans on toast. I am not a wealthy person. This was meant to be my payday treat. You have lost us as customers.

Ordered online for collection and restaurant added 30 minutes to collection time, meaning it would take 50 minutes. Got a call after 30 saying food was ready. Asked for them to keep hot food hot as it would take me 10 minutes to get there meaning hot food I ordered would go cold. Inaccuracy with estimated collection time meant I ended up picking up cold food that should have been hot.
