Yak & Yeti in Islington

Highly recommended. The freshness and quality of the food here is honestly stunning. The chefs specials are a must — incredibly fragrant, tasty and well seasoned. Not oily or greasy and less rich than a lot of standard Indian restaurants in London. The Gurkha beer was lovely too. Perfect compliment to the curries!

Inside nice peaceful and not much light which makes the place cozy nice, surprise there’s 5 star at this place So the food was not nice people might have different opinions first time in my life had onion bhaji in strips No offers of poppadom thought they had none but saw other customers had some but yeh won’t be re visiting for me was a waste of money

A place where you can try Nepalese food. The momos were delicious and the hariyali chicken was also delicious. Hariyali is spicy with a coriander flavor. I ate it with garlic naan, but I think it would have been more delicious with rice.👍

Absolutely lovely food. The chutneys which come with the pappadams were a little too sweet for us, but this is personal preference. Wonderful to see so many vegan options. I had their vegan fried momo, vegan onion bhaji and vegan roti. Others had their dhal makhani, chicken tikka masala, chapatti and garlic naan. (Indian) Kingfisher beer on tap. We will be back! We will be back!!!

Fantastic freshly cooked food, great service. A little unknown gem and very affordable restaurant in the middle of Crystal Palace. If you haven't visited yet you are missing something. Nepalese food at its best.

Incredible food, some different flavours I've never tried before which were delicious, for me the best curry in Finsbury Park. Our server Sujat was so friendly and helpful throughout the experience and we had a great evening, highly recommend!

Amazing food and service !! They really pay attention to the way they cook their food. I wanted to order a dish which was outside the menu, a vindaloo to be precise, I had the best vindaloo in london as I’m a spice lover. They are also great with other dishes such as jhafrezi, and chicken haryali. The food was so delicious. I have amazing service and the chef even checked with me how I liked my food. They are super attentive, kind and absolutely amazing with food. Hugely recommend!! I have to mention the amazing momos! … so delicious

No idea what the food is like because despite taking a booking for Saturday 26th August 2023 for 6 people at 12pm, it was closed when we arrived.l and did not open until 1hr after our booking.🤣 So we went next door to the Viet Ngon Restaurant which was awesome 👌 such good food and great service. Go there instead.🤣

I have eaten in and had takeaway here and the food has been delicious on both occasions. Fluffy rice, really good hariyali chicken, okra and paneer curry. I would agree with the review that said the restaurant was quite cold (although we did go in January!)

I came here for it appeared top of the search list for vegan food in the area. The waiter was also willing to adapt a non vegan dish to be vegan. Friendly and accommodating. Personal taste the food was a bit too salty, but delicious otherwise. Venue was empty on arrival, packed on departure. My friend was quick to judge and he liked it, although being Indian, it was not spicy enough for him.

Not your run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant. Good variety of dishes and flavours. Portions are a good size. Only complaints are: 1. it was uncomfortably chilly in the restaurant on our visit, and 2. A couple of curries had too much sugar in them.

The food is great here but twice the order has been wrong when we got take away. It’s even more awkward when you call up and they say it takes 2 drivers to deliver an order for 4 people. This is either a blatant lie or the organization makes no sense. Its a bit of an insult. Sadly after 7 years of going here… we are no longer fans. Customer service is awful. So sad its went down hill.

I can order and eat momo (dumplings - chicken & lamb) for starter, main and dessert from here any day! Also the nice thick mango lassi. I don’t know if my tongue is getting more sensitive with age, but 2nd curry in the week (just happened to go twice in the week) and 2nd time I couldn’t eat my dinner because it was way too hot for me 🥵😵 but more for the other half! Restaurant itself was lovely, like the paintings dotted around of Nepal. I think they may have changed hands at some point but not certain. It’s meant to be Nepalese, Indian and Tibetan but seems less Nepalese lately as it’s a place I’ve been ordering takeaway and deliveries from over the last 11 years. Anyway, food quality still good if you love your spicy curries!

Every single dish we ordered was bursting with flavour and the portions were huge. Staff were so friendly and attentive, and everything came really quickly. My new favourite place to get a curry in Finsbury Park.

Fantastic restaurant. Went here on a random visit. The Tibetan Chicken Momo was great. Was very pleased with the Chicken Tikka Masala, Peshwari Naan and Coconut rice. The service was good and the restaurant decor was nice.

The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and extremely well seasoned! Good friendly service, plenty of vegan options, nice atmosphere, no too loud music. I would love to give full five stars but I asked my dishes without potatoes and that was agreed by the waiter but then both of my dishes had quite plenty of potatoes. However, wonderful place! Looking forward to visit again.

So incredibly tasty, good service, wasn't overly busy when we went there around 9. But the main had decent portions, poppadoms and sauces were super tasty but I'd appreciate if the starters had just one more e g it was 3 samosas and 3 onion bahgis rather than 4!

Total gem. Over the years, I have tried most things on their menu, and they have all been delicious. Fresh herbs, depth of flavour, generous portions, unusual and interesting dishes. Not your standard "curry place" at all. This place is top notch.

Food is very good, portion size is good, I have eaten in and the service and staff are excellent. The takeaway service is also excellent. This is one of the best curry houses in North London. Try don't be shy you will not regret it.

The food is disappointing and forgettable, the interior is dated, staff don’t seem to have been trained sufficiently. It’s telling that all other restaurants on the strip are full night after night, Yak and Yeti barely ever has customers eating on the premises. There is a wonderful Indian restaurant, a pub, pizzerias and a Thai place on the same strip that are far better choices in every way.

Consistently excellent this is our go to Nepali/Indian in the area, whatever we order it's always great. The Nepali dishes are the most authentic we've eaten in London. Thank you for getting us through lockdown - looking forward to being able to dine in again!

Dreadful, most dreadful waste of money and effort in trying to eat. This place should be closed. Id have rather given the £25 to a charity and had cheese on toast. Our first lockdown takeaway in nearly a year. But wrong choice of restaurant don't I repeat don't waste your money or time.

There’s nothing like a hot curry on a cold and rainy Friday night, and Yak N Yeti is THE one. Whenever we want curry, we go straight to yak n yeti because every time we eat there - either eat in or take away - the meal is absolutely bang on. The crispy momos and the Goan fish curry are our particular favourites! Also worth mentioning that the staff are lovely, including the delivery drivers when you order direct from their website. Thank you Yak N Yeti for always bringing a smile to our hungry faces!

Not great, overall I can not recommend eating here. The restaurant needs a lot to improve: - 90min delay on food even though we pre-ordered. - Delivery driver didnt even want to delivery it to the door., even though it was explained to him that i can't go out for medical reason. - Delivery driver argued with a customer - Food was pure average , even though we ordered many dishes it all tasted the same and seemed to have the same sauce as base (also the quality of the meat was very poor) - Restaurant even got the order wrong

Incredible curries, huge menu (caters especially well for vegans) and lovely staff.

If I could only recommend one place in London, this would be it. We found our way to Yak n Yeti almost by accident - it was raining cats and dogs outside, we were just in the neighbourhood, looking for a warning midday meal. I am not exaggerating when I say that the chicken dish (Timur Piro chicken) was the best seasoned poultry dish I've *EVER* had and this actually goes for their saffron rice, too. My partner told me that his naan bread and nepalese chicken main was also nothing short of delicious, which comes as no surprise, really. Also, I should mention that their masala tea is masterfully light and perfectly seasoned - while some other places would sweeten their teas to the point of no return, they actually held back on the sugar, which was greatly appreciated. I can honestly say that I simply cannot wait to visit the Yak N Yeti again.

The takeaway from Yak and Yeti has honestly been a lifesaver in lockdown. Incredible food, big menu, quick delivery. Great pick-me-up for when you get tired of watching the world collapse.

I order on 1/10/2020 at 7pm the price online is different from price in store because they haven't updated website. I order 2 portions of lamb chops which came uncooked still pink inside even thought I asked for it to be well done. I called up and told them my problem with he food they said sorry there is no more lamb chops and driver has gone home. Which I replied can I just get my money back please they then said the driver will bring it to me. After a hour waiting bare in mind I order food for my 4 year old son and I. I call back only for the staff to tell me the driver tyre bust. I said so know one called call to say that they actual had the adasaty to say NO WE COULD NOT CALL! Very rude of them. I then said I want my money now the staff said u order tomorrow u wont pay. I said are you mad my son and I order to eat today, what we gonna eat now at 930pm now. The manager said ok we will call u at 10pm have your bank card ready. 10pm came no call so I called, the staff takes my details and said I'll be refunded. Today is 2/10/2020 still no refund I phone up at 9 30am the cleaner answers and says the shop does not open to 3pm but it says 11 30 on website. I will never waste my money here again, staff do not have customer service they need training, no one can communicate in English properly so they dont understand and pass the phone round and round the shop to other staff to try understand. Worst indian shop ever I will never recommend buying online. I still have the pictures to prove this and the food to take bk to the shop today disgusting try to poison my son and I.

The worst customer service ever. Took over an hour to arrive, forgot things from our Order and told us we were lying about having ordered them. Refused to resend because “nobody wants to drive to that area”. Food was cold when it arrived. Managers just didn’t care. Dreadful, will never order from again. Rude with a terrible attitude and complete waste of money.

Hemos tenido la suerte de vivir cerca de Yak & Yeti y nunca nos ha decepcionado. El equilibrio de las especias es increíble y también hay una increíble selección de platos veganos para elegir. Nuestros favoritos son el Baigan bhata, el saag aloo y el tarkha daal, platos indios clásicos con un toque nepalés cocinados a la perfección. ¡Gracias por todos los increíbles sabores!

Last night enjoyed a delicious vegetarian Dhal Bhat tray of food with crispy fried momos as a starter. Best Nepali food I've eaten for a long time! Service very good and also part of the Eat out to Helpout scheme.

Hugely enjoyed our trip to this lovely restaurant! The staff were all prompt and very kind and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious! Such a cool range of interesting dishes, and amazing vegan options. Would definitely go again!

Food was great. Given its been a quiet few months the staff seemed a little overwhelmed with how busy it was, but can't fault how it all tasted!
